The Indian Garden

OK, this is not the best place on Devon Avenue, but it's decent, and I'll go once in a while with a groupon.  (I am partial to Tiffin and Udupi Palace.)  I don't do buffets, so we've been here for dinner.  I think the Fish Tikka Masala is excellent, and the other dishes are decent to good (but not fantastic).  It's a little pricey, as compared to over Devon options.  The atmosphere is generic, and not fancy.  The service is decent.  And, it is reasonably kid-friendly.

This has always been my favorite restaurant on Devon Ave. I've had many, wonderful meals.  Yes, there are less expensive places to eat on Devon but I've never been as satisfied with the food.  I've always been totally thrilled with my meals at Indian Garden. I have so many favorite dishes it's hard to narrow it down.   Last night I left  my purse in the restaurant and didn't realize it until this morning.  When my husband called, the owner was explained that when he discovered it, he felt it was too late to call us and offered to deliver it to us! Now that's above and beyond.  If Indian Garden wasn't my favorite restaurant before last night it would definitely be a place I want to support and see succeed.  I really think think  this is a great place to eat and it's worth a few extra bucks to have fresh, clean food with good service.

One bad dinner night!

First of all food was pricey.
Presentation, ambiance were good. Food that we ordered was kind of OK.

The bad part:

I feel there is something fundamentally wrong about that restaurant.
While we were dining, a customer seem like complaining about some order mismatch over the phone. Restaurant manager yelled at one of the employees because of that order then that employee reacted angrily and manager asked him to get out etc..etc..
WOW!, we were like surprised by the whole incident and confused.
We hurried and packed our remaining dinner and asked them to give the check.
After waiting for 15-20 minutes, i got the check, paid and left.
In hurry and confused, I didn't verify the billed amount  until we reached hotel. I can not believe that guy billed me $25 more than what actually i had to pay.
When i called he suggested me to take restaurant credit instead of the refund...i was amazed by that..eventually he agreed to pay back but I had to drive 20 miles to get that money refunded.

One bad dinner night and I don't recommend....
