Sadly, the most recent time I visited JackSon's I was quite disappointed. They were out of several food items, and I had to change my food order twice because of them being "out" of things. The table service was also poor and our food took about an hour to come out while the place was almost empty (and we only ordered 2 meals). Hmm...
The atmosphere was pretty dead on a Friday night, which was a let down because last time I went on a Friday it was very fun and they had a great live band.
Also, my apple martini was not nearly as good as last time :(
Hopefully JackSon's steps their game back up or I may not return...
Tasty food - when it was FINALLY served. The Saturday night dinner crowd was not very crowded -- four tables, a total of 12 people. Valentine's dinner special was a nice idea, but it took 45 minutes to get our six toasted ravioli appetizer, then another 30 minutes for our salad drenched in dressing to arrive. When the salads were brought to the table, we asked for our entrees because we didn't want to wait any longer. The waiter brought them out in about less than 10 minutes -- unfortunately my stuffed salmon was not stuffed. Back to the kitchen my dinner went. I sat and watched my husband eat his steak modega. while I slowly ate my salad. How can you mess up the dinner special and how can the waiter not notice that salmon dish lacked something very important -- like the crab stuffing? My salmon finally arrived 30 minutes later -- which my husband had to watch me eat because he was long finished with his dinner. The waiter was apologetic and offered a glass of wine and a beer to make up for my wait. The Valentine's special included dessert -- we ordered cheesecake with strawberries. The waiter brought one piece of cake with two forks but WITHOUT the strawberries. Back to the kitchen the waiter went to get our strawberries. Two hours and fifteen minutes later we were finally finished with one of the most frustrating dinners of our lives. The ONLY redeeming factor was that Hudson and the Hoo Doo Cats were playing in the bar, so at least we were entertained. Not sure what was keeping the kitchen staff busy, but they certainly weren't very concerned about us. Our waiter apologized again before we left and asked that we give them another try. Â . Â . not sure if that will ever happen. Now I know why the restaurant side was practically empty and the bar side was hopping.
Review Source:I have come to this place off and on for years and I always forget why I only come every couple of years.  Same problems.  Understaffed or poor service (nobody know what anybody else is doing)  Always "out" of something and it takes the 20 minutes to "get back to you" to let you know.  It's obvious that this is a bar 1st and a restaurant 2nd .(it's like an afterthought)  I mean Friday night at 7pm and you are out of rib eye and salmon. Maybe Sunday night I could understand.  Seems like the staff is drifting about and nothing is getting done.  The food (that was available) was good. It has potential but they need  Restaurant Impossible or something.  Disorganized. Shit or get off the pot. Everyone was polite for what that is worth.
