Have been here enough times over the years to say that both the New York Pies and the Napoletana Pies are both very good, so just go with whatever floats your boat at the moment. Â All the ingredients are fresh and tasty.
Best bet unless you are very hungry is to split a Pie and a Salad between two people. Â For Large parties this is also the way to go, but it also allows for some mixing and matching of Pies and Salads.
Parking is either Street Parking, or to the north of the Star Bar. Â Both the Star Bar and Marco's share the parking area, best access if you are not driving southwest on Larimer is to come back through the alley
It is busy and crowded in a very tight space, so reservations are a safe bet.
On a random, yet romantic, evening - a couple decided to venture out into their new city and dive into some pizza pie that seemed to be all the rave. After a few glances at the menu and glowing Yelp reviews, it was no-brainer for the pair.
Anxious to try these limoncello chicken wings that the reviews were incessantly mentioning, the gentleman didn't take two seconds to order those to get the meal started. The attentive and charming server swiftly took the wine order and returned with a highly-recommended and delectable red wine to pair nicely with the zesty chicken wings. The lady, attempting to just that...actually be a lady for once - ordered the Caprese salad to start. And was delighted to see a colorful plate bursting with flavor of rich tomato flavor and fresh basil taste. The mozzarella could have been a meal of its own as the portions were above generous, she thought.
Now for the pizza. They pondered and pondered as this was a poignant decision in their saga of eating adventures. 'If we fail in our pizza preference then what kind of pansy restaurant goers are we?' they asked themselves. This would be a turning point in their dining careers - only facing downward; from which we may never return. BUT lo and behold, The Sicilia - loaded with ingredients from the likes ricotta, fresh mozzarella, salami, prosciutto, artichokes, and mushrooms and a thin bottom layer of crust and even crispier outer layer of crust - came to our taste buds' rescue and saved them from their order anxiety. They had made the bold and sure choice that would set the stage for numerous good meals to follow. But then again, any pizza on the menu would have been just as good. But don't tell them that.
I went here with a group of 10 people and it was definitely a great experience! It was a little hard to find, but when we did I was impressed with how nice it looked even though it was in a slightly sketchy area. The inside was beautiful and we got comfortable seating. The waitress was the nicest I have met in a long time and she was good at recommending the best things on the menu.
Almost everyone ordered a different type of pizza and we all got our own 12 inch deliciously prepared pizza. For dessert we got a NUTELLA PIZZA!!! It was so rich and good that I wanted to eat another one, but I will admit that the best dessert there is the Dolce Pizza with ricotta, honey, and almonds.
My only problem was the pricing, but if you come prepared with enough money then you'll have a great time! Also, free refills!!!
