Great Place!!!!! Wonderful, and Affordable food, and Drinks. Best Place on the Delmar Loop to watch any and all Sporting Events.  Friendly Servers and Bartenders.

Food Recommendations:  All of the Burgers are fantastic, the Entrees are great as well, specifically, the Beef or Hawaiian Chicken Kabobs, and the BBQ Mac & Cheese.  Plenty of Wing Sauce options, Traditional or Boneless.  My personal favorites are the Kickin' Garlic or the Jamaican Jerk.

I highly recommend the Market Pub House as a place to watch the games, hang out with some great people, and enjoy some great bar style food that is better than what you are probably use to.

This was my first time eating at this restaurant and I was impressed.  I walked in and was greeted by friendly staff and was promptly seated by the host (it wasn't horribly busy at the time).  My friend and I started out with the $9 bucket, which, in my opinion is reasonably priced.

I ordered one of their wraps with a side of sweet potato fries, and my friend ordered wings. My food was very good. The chicken in my wrap was cooked properly and the wrap itself was delicious.  As for the fries, they were the best part of my meal.  I usually order sweet potato fries when restaurants offer them, and Market Pub House has some of the best fries I've eaten.  My friend's meal was on par with mine.  Only complaint is that they could include more wings for the price.  Other than that, I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and experience at Market Pub House.

Awesome burgers. The steak sauce they're basted in is really delicious. Tons of TVs to watch the games. $9 buckets. Friendly servers :)

Wednesday is all day happy hour AND trivia night. Lots of fun.

I've been to Market Pub House multiple times expecting it to get better. The food is fairly mediocre. I've either had a pretty good meal or an absolutely awful meal where I can't even finish half of it without feeling sick. Its only redeeming quality is the dessert wontons. Delicious. Everything else, go somewhere better like Fitz's.

What really makes it only two stars is the service. I have been treated with rudeness multiple times I've been there. The wait staff is careless and has messed up my order or forgotten something with barely an apology. If you want your water filled, be prepared to wait forever to get someone's attention. Just the service makes me dread going there if any friend suggests it.

I have been to Market Pub House twice, and I cannot say that I will be going back there again unless someone else is buying.

My first experience there, I tried their Cajun burger, and was so excited to try it because the flavors sounded so delicious. Unfortunately, it did not meet up to my expectations. The burger itself was cooked to my liking (medium rare) and was quite juicy, however, the spicy Cajun flavors that I was expecting were not there, and the mayo that they put on it was just o.k. The service was just o.k. too.

Even though my first experience wasn't that great, I decided to give Market Pub House the benefit of the doubt and figured I would try it again. On my second visit, my boyfriend and I decided to catch the cards game and scored a seat out on their patio--which (I will give them some credit) is pretty nice.

We were pretty hungry so we decided to order an appetizer along with two meals for ourselves. We ordered the spinach artichoke dip, and boy, that seemed to be the blandest thing that I have ever tasted. It was not good at all, and tasted like something that I could buy in the freezer section at the grocery store.  For my meal, I had a southwest chicken wrap with a side of potato soup and my boyfriend decided to get buffulo wings. My boyfriend thought his wings were good, although he thought there should be more wings for the price that he paid. The chicken wrap that I had was good, but it's not something that I would get again. I also did not care for the soup that I got with it--it tasted like there was way too much flour added to the soup to make it thicker.

As for the service the second time around, it was similar to the first time. The gal that served us was nice and quirky, but tended to be forgetful. She forgot our drink orders twice and forgot to bring me a to-go box for my left over wrap.

All in all, I would not reccomend this place to a friend nor would I go here again. There are much better places out there.

Went there on a Sunday night for some drinks. Did not eat just drank. I like that buckets were $9 all day every day. The service was terrible though. There was no one really in there and it took about 20 minutes to get our bucket. For a place that does not stand out they need to have better service to make me come back.

We stopped in for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. Weather was great, so we dined outside on the patio.

Service was great, and food was delicious. We shared an order of Japanese black wings to start. These are not a spicy wing--more a savory and sweet Asian wing.

The stuffed jalapeño burger was delicious. My husband and I both ordered it and asked for a medium-well burger. It seemed more well done than we preferred, but the flavor was so good that we didn't worry about it. The regular fries were good, but the sweet potato fries were excellent.

My husband was also impressed that they had 18 different beers on their on-draught menu.

We would definitely stop here again.

The food is awesome, but our server was...well...rude? It seemed like the whole time we were there, we were trying really hard to get her to like us. That's wrong. She didn't smile, didn't make eye contact and seemed to really hate her job. I did notice that she was friendly and smiled to a able of guys. I've served before and I know that one bad table/tip is capable of throwing you off for the rest of the night, but damn acknowledge when you have nice people at your tables! I'd go back, the food runner was really nice and I may request him next time.

Btw, the French onion soup was amazing.

Went for the Ghost wing challenge and found out they nixed it about a month ago. Was told it was due to cost ???? I had them before there and they were really good granted I know I'm a rarity and like stupid spicy food but how much does it cost to keep those type of chilies or extracts ? Sorry it was what drew me to the place and the fact they were out of the two IPA beers they had on tap didn't help either....sorry guys maybe some other time.

A place like Market Pub gets three stars because it fits Yelp's "A-OK" description to a T. You can have hundreds of totally pleasant and satisfying experiences at Market Pub that would be exactly the same as any other average sports bar in a college town. It's a solid place to bring a crowd, grab a drink before a show, or meet up for happy hour. In my opinion, four stars is for places that stand out above the fray, and that's really not the case here.

HOWEVER, a brief story, because the people who served us last Saturday afternoon were excellent and deserve props for their great service. I showed up sleep deprived, starving, sad because there was a line at Fitz's, and needing a hamburger and fries in a limited period of time. Our waiter got our order in right away and was super friendly. My burger (the jalapeno) was exactly what I was looking for and cooked properly (medium rare). We were in and out and on our way in 45 minutes. Way to go, Market Pub team.

Great place to watch any sports game. Lot's of tv's and plenty of waitstaff to take care of you. No one rushed us out while we watched an entire football game even though we only ordered one round of drinks and dinner. Food was decent and they have a large selection.

Will probably come back during baseball season and try out some wings.

Good casual bar and lots of good beers on tap. I didn't eat there so I can't recommend any of the food, but some of it looked pretty good as I saw others eating. Good for hanging out or watching a game. It isn't so loud that you can't have a conversation like some bars, so that's a plus!

Only been here a few times but never had a bad experience. They have a great selection of bottled and draught beers to choose from which ensures i'll be back. They also have great happy hour specials on appetizers and beers (i liked the loaded cheese fries). It doesn't hurt that they're well decorated with Cardinals gear, i'm sure this would be a great place to watch the games.

I went tonight with a couple of friends for beer and to watch the election results and I had a wonderful time. There are several great choices for draft beers at fairly reasonable prices (we did not go for a happy hour) and our bartender, Megan, was fantastic. The downsides to our visit was that there was karaoke happening during the presidential election results, which I'm sure could have been delayed for a couple of hours without anyone missing it. Also, at one point the awesome 70s rock was disappointingly replaced with Nickelback of all things. Ugh.

However, the upsides, aside from the positive points I already mentioned, were that Megan didn't hesitate to change the channel from a sports game to CNN for us when we asked, the bathrooms were clean, Megan was actually able to answer our questions about beer (there is a surprisingly high number of bartenders who only bother to acquaint themselves with liquor), and the temperature was comfortable. I will definitely be coming back when I move to the Loop in less than a month!

While I kept wanting to love this place, I never could. Food was always less than stellar and always left me unimpressed. Love the bar and the beer selection but that was about it. Better places to get bar food in the area.

They have some really good deals here, but besides that, they're everyday prices are surprisingly low for how delicious it was! Its still sports bar food, hamburgers, chicken wings, chicken and waffles!!!, etc (they do have salads) but I just cannot get enough of theyre sweet potato fries. Holy Moley! they're great fries to begin with but come sprinkled with brown sugar and green (pesto? i should refine my palate more... haha) aioli on the side that is the most interesting and successful flavor combinations you could think of.

MPH is also great for late night weekend activities or watching the game, but can either be super crowded or super empty depending mostly on where the wash u crowd goes that night. They have some really nice dart boards and make this lemon drink in house thats to die for. They apparently only make it about once a month and it goes quickly!

I used to visit MPH a few times a week for their $6 PBR pitchers and cheap food.  After several months they upped their prices on a lot of items on the menu.

I would bring a lot of friends there on Thursday nights when they had $1 PBR pitchers for an hour.  It was an awesome deal but they got rid of it soon after.

I broke my front tooth at MPH on their breakfast burger.  It was the worst pain ever.

The sweet potato fries are pretty good and they still have nice burger deals during the week.

The service used to be awesome.  I loved the original waitresses there but then they all started to quit.  The wait staff used to tell us about the drama between management and the servers/bartenders, it was pretty funny stuff.

I could spend the evening their drinking cheap beer and getting appz and would be charged under 10 dollars for everything if split between a couple of people.

I stopped going when a waitress told me they raised the price of PBR pitchers.  Now I spend my days down the street at other restaurants.

Their food is okay and some is interesting... but why is it so expensive?  I swear I could order anything on their menu and a drink somewhere else at the same price and still pay Market Pub House more.  Maybe it's related to paying for extras, i.e. I order a different sauce (because I can't eat ranch) and my server charges me.  I can't really explain it.

Also, of the 5 times I've been here, I've had the same server 3 of those times. I now feel like I have to avoid her like the plague because I really get this feeling that she hates me.

They do have decent happy hour and late night specials.  Sadly, I don't care for the atmosphere enough to be there at either of those times.

After recently moving to the loop, I have starting trying all the different restaurants on the main strip. I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised. They have a large menu and tons of specials during the week and even on the weekend. The beer selection and burger selection will be sure to satisfy and the fries (sweet potato & regular) are AMAZING! I have raved about the fries alone to quite a few people. They even offer a duo offer where you can get a side of each.

I have to say, I'm not a fan of the a la carte style menu- but it does make it easier to split and substitute.

Outdoor seating is always a huge plus for me and they have a large partially covered patio with televisions. (They were playing soccer games one afternoon, and needless to say- the BF was super duper pleased with their variety of taste in sports)

Word to the wise- they have a hot wing challenge that a friend of mine tried and it was horrifying to watch. These wings are so hot, you are required to sign a waiver and you aren't allowed to touch any surfaces in the restaurant for the remainder of your meal. If you seek out pain via ghost peppers, have at it, but otherwise stay away from this malicious challenge.

Cool spot to watch the game or grab some food with friends in the Loop! They have a surprisingly large patio, a ton of which is covered... so you can still sit out there and watch the game while it's storming like a mother trucker.

The menu is HUGE, but they specialize in burgers so I highly recommend you try one of them. A few examples of the creative versions they have on the menu:

-The breakfast burger, topped with a fried egg, bacon, and American cheese.
-The Hawaiian, topped with a slice of grilled pineapple, grilled onion, provolone cheese and teriyaki sauce.
-Stuffed jalapeno burger, stuffed with jalapeno peppers & cilantro and topped with fried jalapenos, pepper jack cheese, and roasted red pepper aioli.

They are also a ton of soups, salads, wraps, appetizers, sandwiches, and desserts. And really who could miss their extensive variety of chicken wings? You get ten huge ones for seven bucks. There are eleven kinds, ranging from tame (honey BBQ, ranch wings, etc.) to crazy hot (the atomic BBQ and the stupid hot wings.)

Give this place a try if you want something casual with a menu big enough to please anyone you're with!

The office had a working lunch, so ordered in using 569.DINE. I don't know what they pack the food in, but it's always delivered with the hot stuff hot and the cold stuff cold. Man, does that work.

There were five of us, and I couldn't keep track of everybody's food, but it was gobbled up heartily.

Here's what I saw around the table: two large house salads that were huge (and they were ordered as sides), fried fish sandwich, Dagwood, cheese quesadilla.

I got a small house salad that was still massive. It was fresh and crunchy with beautiful, crisp cucumber slices and diced tomato. The bleu cheese dressing was tasty. I also got the original hamburger with Cheddar. I ditched the bun, but it looked rather fresh. The burger came with lettuce, tomato and onion; I used all of that. Even though the burger was flavorful, it was a bit dry. They didn't ask how I wanted it prepared, a shortcoming in my book.

But the pickle was delicious and tangy!

Ordering from Market Pub House worked for our group, because of the variety of offerings. There was something on the menu for everyone.

If you are in the loop and looking for a place to grab a burger and some beers and watch a game then this is probably the best spot. They have plenty of tvs so they usually have any game on that you might want to watch (Although I don't believe that they have Extra Innings or League Pass). Their food is ok, burgers are good but not great. They are pretty cheap, about $5, but they don't come with any sides, you have to order those separately. Food is just your typical bar food, nothing special but pretty cheap. They do usually have good drink specials so that is a plus.

Like I said this is a good place to watch a big game while grabbing some beers and food.

Bought the groupon for 1 app and 2 entrees. Showed up on Monday Burger night. It's $2 for a 5 oz burger, and you pay extra for additions. Just like Bar Louie, except BL's burger is bigger. Also similar to BL, they have $3 drafts during Happy Hour.

I read the reviews before going and was a little wary. But our server was great, made sure to explain how the groupon worked and checked up with the manager to make sure the wings qualified as an appetizer. He was great, attentive, refilled soda and checked up on us frequently.

We ordered the Japanese Black sauce wings. They were great, flavorful, but not really spicy.

Just one note, the entire place smelled like old dish rags. I'm guessing the water/towel they used to wipe down the tables was old, but it was a really unappetizing smell.

We also ordered french fries and the fish sandwich. The bf ordered the smokehouse burger. It looked nice, I forgot to ask for a bite in the midst of enjoying the fries and fish sandwich. The fries are just like Steak n shake, thin cut, and served with a great chipotle mayo. But, their fries are spiced better than SnS.

The fish sandwich was a little small for my taste, served on buttered white bread  (maybe french?) with not quite enough tartar sauce. I also didn't like that the onions and tomatoes were diced and not thin slices. Oh well, I didn't say anything to the server, so it wasn't that big of a deal for me. My biggest problem with the fish was that it didn't seem to be seasoned. They batter was flavorless, and with the diced veggies, I don't feel like I got the fish sandwich I'm accustomed to.

But, like I said, I didn't dislike it enough to say something to the server, so I  would still say it was good. I also have to take into to account that I'm addicted to sambal- although I do know the distinction between spice and flavor.

Great experience, great service, good food.

    NOT IMPRESSED!

First :   upon entering a warning sign for grouponers. You MUST present your groupon BEFORE ordering or you may not be able to redeem it.  The sign almost felt hostile! I am sure they have their reasons but after presenting the groupon and seeing their menu, I am at a loss?

Second:   No Coke here, Pepsi it is.

Third:   Ordered Nacho's with steak strips.  Tri- Color chips with jalepeno's, onion, black beans, melted Provel-esqe cheese (white cheez-whiz) *shudder* and steak with a dollop of sour cream.  The steak was not strips of steak but shaved beef like a French dip sandwich.  The Cheese was the deal breaker for me, so my husband who was born here and grew up with that IMO, had at it.

Fourth:    I ordered a Pastrami on a baguette.  The bread was the airiest baguette I have ever laid my hands on. It actually deflated! All that came with it was a pickle. The pickle was good. My husband had the French Dip served on the same air baquette. It came with a bowl of au jus.

We wanted dessert, but we all ready had struck out and new we would be better off  to look for sweeter pastures.

    Eek! Methinks NOT!

You should visit this bar for the atmosphere, service, and delicious French fries. Three great attributes to be sure (hence the 3-star rating). However, I'm underwhelmed with the rest of the food.

I first visited on Monday after work during their "burger bar" special, in which you build your own burger. Unfortunately, with this "special," they charge you for basic toppings like lettuce, tomato, and onion - These are included in build-your-own burger deals at other places. As a result, the cost can quickly add up to regular burger prices, so you may not feel like you're actually getting a deal. I do like that they offer egg as a topping, and our server was extremely friendly.

My second visit was on a recent Saturday afternoon to watch a Mizzou basketball game. I ordered the mushroom & swiss burger, but asked for it in wrap form, instead of on a bun. The waitress, who seemed like she was a college student, was a little out of it. It took her a while to get us drinks, and then she actually told me that the cook was annoyed that I wanted the burger as a wrap. She was very friendly, however.

I will happily return to Market Pub House, but will probably not order a burger.

We ate here for the first time on Valentine's Day. We were in U City, and it wasn't crowded at all. They are a bar and grill, and have typical bar and grill food and beer. There just wasn't anything special here, except for my Valentine. We had burgers, and they were good. We had the Billy Goat chips, billed as the "best in the world," and they were good. The waitress was very nice and friendly, basically a good waitress.

The dining room has dark wood tables, and it's dark. There are some TVs, but they aren't positioned where you can see them well - they're really too high. The worst thing about this place is that there are a long series of windows next to a building housing the Club Fitness on the second floor...and you can see people working out and sweating the whole time you are eating.

All in all, it was good. I'd be fine going there again. With all of the awesome U City Loop places to eat, this place is really overshadowed.

Two stars ONLY because their wings are pretty good (get the Stupid Hot), and so many places in this area fail hard at wings.

The service here, like many have mentioned, is piss poor. Our waitress forgot my friend's food order, and forgot another friend's beer. When asked about the beer she insisted she had brought it because she had "punched it in." So in other words, because she charged him for it he must have been wrong about never receiving it. Stupefying logic. Later she brought the beer over and snapped "I took it to the wrong table" like it was our egregious fault she couldn't keep her tables straight. It's one thing to do a job poorly, but it's a whole other thing to take it out on your customers.

Also, some reviewers on here have said this place has a "good beer list." This is true if you are used to AB-only bars; they have some craft beers, but really common ones (see the list at: <a href="/redir?url=http%3A%2F%2Fmarketpubhouse.com%2Findex.php%3Foption%3Dcom_content%26view%3Darticle%26id%3D72%26Itemid%3D102&s=74bdf5c8a4bb591bfd38c6542db34c51c35c667ccadaee99a0d584f163f1283d" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://marketpubhouse.co…</a>). If you are looking for good beer on the Loop Cicero's is the obvious answer, but Three Kings also has a better taplist than this place.

As far as the atmosphere, the person who said it was like a Loop Applebee's had it right.

I rarely return to a restaurant if I had a bad experience. There has to be something good enough about a place to draw me back despite an unpleasant visit.

The only reason I ever went back was because the prices are damn good if you're in a pinch and the burgers are pretty tasty. The food has never been an issue. It's nothing special, mainly generic Americana type foods but that's exactly what I expect from a place called Market Pub House.

The bad experiences I have had came from the service. To begin with, I'm not sure they even have a seating chart or designated hosts. Every time I have come in, the seating process has been the most disorganized part of the process. It takes ages to be approached by someone to take your name, and then if it's busy, it takes even longer to be seated.

Finally, after being seated, the food takes what seems like forever to get to you, even when it's a simple cheeseburger. Our servers seemed over worked every time and took the chance to vent to us about the slow kitchen. If the servers are complaining to customers about the speed of the kitchen, that's when you know that you're not just being a needy customer. We were even given free beer once when we visited because after an hour and fifteen minutes, we still did not have our food and our waiter had disappeared thirty minutes before then. I had to go to the bar to let them know that we were about ready to leave and just to cancel our order before they noticed that we hadn't been served yet.

I've given this place numerous chances to prove that they deserve the business, but each time I go the people in charge prove that they don't know how to run a restaurant, regardless of the quality of the food.

    I like this place.

I've been there a few times now, and it's got a lively atmosphere and a huge menu. And the food is CHEAP. Well, I guess it could get expensive as everything is a la carte, but I like that I can get an appetizer with a sandwich instead of a normal side if I want. Or spend less and just get the sandwich without paying for a side I don't need.

So I popped in last night really for dessert, but the BBQ pulled pork mac & cheese was calling my name. I think the dish is an inspired concept, but it lacked execution. The big problem is that I expect mac & cheese to have a strong CHEESE flavor, and this was more like macaroni in a light cream sauce. The sauce just didn't have any punch to it. The pulled pork, drizzled BBQ sauce and crunchy onion string toppers were great through, so it wasn't a total failure.

I seriously was planning on getting dessert, but ended up cancelling the order...really wasn't hungry enough for both.

I was informed that they are no longer serving the cheesecake lollipops that the menu said was their specialty, and the the sauce on the cookie dough filled wontons is now just regular old chocolate and not habenero chocolate (which is the only reason I originally ordered this!).

So if you hate sport bars, then it's not your place. But if you want to go someplace causal with good food (I've loved everything I had on prior visits...especially the burgers and sweet potato fries), give it a try.

Oh, and they have free WiFi. I even saw someone working on a laptop by himself at the bar...that's a first for me on a weekend night.

I'm not in love with Market Pub House, but I don't despise it either. I want to say "meh," but I feel a bit better about it than two stars, so three it is.

I'm pleased that they have a veggie burger. It's not bad, and it's nice to have a burger option on that long list of burgers for meatatarians. I usually order the sweet potato fries, which are decent but could use a bit of salt. They're awfully nice about bringing me barbeque sauce for dipping, though. :)

During my last visit, I tried the Asian slaw. I'd get this again, as it had a little bit of sweetness poking out from the sour vinegar taste. It was a nice balance.

Friends enjoyed what were apparently extremely cheap drinks during (if I'm remembering correctly) special happy hours or a special day. Their eyes popped when they got their bills - in the good way.

And I have to give major props to the bartender and chef who bent over backwards to pack up some gooey buttercake for me as a to-go order. I need the dessert as a prop for a video I was shooting elsewhere in the Loop, but gooey buttercake normally isn't available as take-out because it melts so quickly. However, once I explained the situation, the bartender and chef worked together to get me a lovely looking (and tasting!) piece of cake that survived the transport to our shooting location.

Alas, the general service I've received at the Pub House has been kind of lackluster. Everyone is friendly, but as others have mentioned, servers are very slow and tend to forget about you.

For me, Market Pub House really only serves as a dinner option when I'm with friends who don't want to indulge me in the great ethnic food that's in the Loop or when I just feel like boring, basic food. It's definitely middle-of-the-road and inoffensive.

Honestly, I don't even have much at all to say about Market Pub. My taco meal was bland and the beer list was just alright. Nothing about it really impressed me at all. It reminds me of being the "Applebee's" of the Delmar loop. Nobody would choose this boring place over all the other amazing eclectic places in the loop.

    One word...lame.

Wow. I try and have part of my rating based on overall lifetime experiences, and this two star is an exercise of that mentality. The only reason this isn't a one is because I am sure I have had worse experiences at some point and time.

Really bland food. REALLY BLAND If it wasnt so cheap, I would blast the dish.

The service, i have a hard time being critical of wait staff. I was arguably the worst server that has ever walked the planet and I appreciate the fact that it is a very difficult job. So I wont really comment , but it was obvious the young man who waited on the party i was with hadnt been trained. Thats not his fault. Not to mention the best service in the world wouldn't save this place.

There are so many great places to eat around town, please do not waste your dollars on this place. Maybe if you are just going to grab a beer its okay, but i work hard and want a place that provides something unique.

FYI one star is reserved for the repulsive.

When I eat at  a new place and have a good experience I usually rush home after and write up a review.  When the experience is less good, I usually wait, hoping that next time will change my mind.  I waited to write this one.

I'm giving this place three stars because, while I found it underwhelming, I recognize that it is a fairly average bar that isn't actually offensive in any obvious way.  The burgers are average but are rendered slightly less appetizing by the management's decision to follow the Blueberry Hill business model of serving them with no sides.  The fries are equally average.  The loaded fries, to my chagrin, come drenched in that...substance...known as provel.  The staff are generally friendly but there seem still to be the kinds of problems that a place should outgrow after the first couple weeks.  On my first visit I ordered a mushroom burger (i.e. burger covered in mushrooms) and my friend ordered a portabella burger (i.e. not meat).  We both got the portabella.  By the time I got what I ordered, my friend had finished eating.

I did notice some good things.  First, there are a LOT of TVs in this place, which I suppose would make it a good place to watch a game.  I may find myself here during hockey season for this reason.  Second, the sweet potato fries are pretty darn good.  I also liked the calamari, though the portion size was a bit small.

Overall, I question the wisdom of opening yet another burger joint on the Loop and then doing very little to make it stand out.  Frankly, I miss the pizza place that was here before, especially the possibility of buying by the slice, which is now nowhere to be found on the Loop.

Very mediocre pub food with terrible service on the Loop.

They have a surprisingly extensive menu, with plenty of appetizer offerings as well as sandwiches and burgers.  The French Dip wasn't good, far too salty and a bit soggy as well.  The Market Melt (a patty melt with grilled onions on rye) was not good either.  Their burgers are decent, probably the best items on the menu.  They ask if medium-well is okay, but the burgers usually come out looking well-done anyway.  Their sweet potato fries are surprisingly good.

Probably the worst part about this place is the service.  It is extremely SLOW, you can wait unacceptable times for every part of your meal, including the food and the check.  The prices are fairly reasonable, and you can get a burger for $5-7 (no side).  They do have a convenient location, and the outdoor seating is very nice.

My husband suggested dinner here last Friday night.  He had been for lunch and enjoyed it, and he raved about the side options.

We sat outside - always great people watching in The Loop, and it was a very pleasant night.

Unlike some of the other reviews, we had great service.  Our server was very knowledgeable on the menu and attentive in refilling our drinks many times over as we took our time there.

I had the turkey burger w/ blue cheese.  Great flavor - not your typical bland turkey burger.  And the blue cheese was so ample, not just a sprinkling that you typically get from other restaurants, that I couldn't eat it all, but I was glad to have it!  Hubs had the the Club sandwich and it was HUGE!  Again, very healthy portion of turkey and ham on their homemade sourdough was more than filling - we actually took half of it home.  Not just boring lunchmeat sandwich, either, both the turkey and ham had great flavor and the thicker-slices of bacon were also not boring - yummy, salty, pork goodness!

SIDES!  This was tough, because we wanted to try a couple of the sides, but knew that the portions were very large - each enough for AT LEAST 2 diners to split.  We settled on the original Mac & Cheese and the Cheese & Bacon Fries (yes, the theme is nearly always cheese with us!).

Mac & Cheese was a great blend of different cheeses with traditional elbow noodles.  Just enough tang and goo and more than satisfy - highly recommend!

The fries are thin cut and were very flavorful on their own, so next time I will try that, but with the nacho-like cheese and chunks of that yummy bacon, they were fantastic.

We definitely would hit up this place again - and we will have beer next time.  We did see that the table near ours asked some questions about beer that their server could not answer, so she brought out another person from inside (bartender or bar manager perhaps), who discussed the beer options with the patron for quite a while.

This place should be more crowded!  I am super picky when it comes to service and our tastes run the gammet depending on our mood, and we definitely will be back!

I tried this place earlier this season, just after they opened up. To be honest, I'm not a fan of the generic sports pub. If I wanted a drink or a meal at a sterile, uninspired, horrendously unimaginative place, I'd buy a ticket and eat at the airport.

That's the face value of Market Pub House to me.

The menu was an attempt to be eclectic without being bold. Sure you could slab teriyaki sauce on stuff and call it Japanese... Or even serve potstickers in a "brew house" and reach for Asian flair... But in the end, it's kind of lame.

What's worse is the simple fact that Market Pub House has the potential to be a great bar/restaurant WITH personality. They just need to be be genuine on an overall scale.

I sampled their "breakfast burger" which was tasty, but when I ordered it over easy, it didn't mean over hard (or left under a salamander to rest up).  The burger patty was home made and seasoned in an okie-doke kind of way but needed... something. I also asked for medium-rare, expecting that it would end up medium (I noticed that the server wa N-E-W) and it came out almost well done. Tasty, but not exactly the best on accuracy. The bun, while fresh was not grilled or toasted, and detracted from the overall theme of "breakfast burger". Toast the buns! This isn't a backyard BBQ.

No worries, it's a new restaurant with new staff, and definitely new servers (100% green at the time, but with plenty of room to improve). I also ordered a mac and cheese, which was uninspired at best. The bread crumb topping should have been more pronounced instead of looking like lost grains of sand, swimming in a sea of undeveloped cheese sauce, and the dish itself (served in a ceramic dish) could have been allowed to brown just a little, under some heat... Oh yeah, I think it needed something of an aromatic flavor, maybe an onion or garlic.

They left out suggestion forms, and I relayed my concerns with them. I just expect that my next visit (sometime soon, I think) will prove to be an huge improvement.

The former home of Racanelli's has now turned into Market Pub House. I was able to visit last weekend while they were doing a "test run".

    Atmosphere:
The first thing you'll notice is that this is decent sized place. Outdoor sitting is available and there are big screen TV's abound. It gives the feel of a sports bar. the servers and bartenders were very kind and pretty knowledgeable.  A plus for this place is that it's NON SMOKING! Service was slightly slow but again they are still working out kinks.

    Food/Drinks:
I recommend reading the food menu as the descriptions are kinda humorous.  There is a variety of food available from your standard burgers to veggie wraps to wings. I enjoyed the French Fries (which if you mess up your fries you have no hope in my opinion). I enjoyed the French Dip which was pretty good. Not incredible but it was well done.

Drink wise they had there bar fully stocked with several beers on tap. Don't expect the overwhelming beer selections of Cicero's. They have a cocktail menu but it was not available during my time there.

Cost: 95% of the food menu costs between $5-7 per item (the exceptions are the sides being $2 and 3 and a $9 burger).

Closing Thoughts: I believe that after they work out the kinks and get themselves established they will be a pretty good addition for the Delmar Loop. It's a good place to get a bite to eat with a friend or catch a drink with a friend that won't put a dent in your wallet.

We happened to walk by Market Pub House on our way to Cicero's, noticed it was open, and stumbled in out of curiosity more than anything else. The restaurant has a great broad menu (burgers, salads, sandwiches, wings, and interesting sides) and the actual space looks great; tons of TVs, a nice bar, the tables aren't too close together, and there's no smoking, so you can sit comfortably through dinner without walking out smelling like an ashtray.

The night we visited happened to be their opening night, which was kind of exciting, but at the same time, we should have known then that it was going to be a bumpy ride. Our server was sweet, but the whole staff seemed like they'd been hired a day earlier. As we sat waiting for our food (which turned out to be a long time), 4-5 different servers came by and tried to deliver us someone else's dinner. Three of my friends ordered salads, and I ordered the nacho burger. Two of the salads came early, and by the time the rest of the food came, my friends had finished their meals. The staff was so disorganized that in the twenty minutes we waited for our food, no one but our waitress stopped by the table to let us know what was going on. That's not entirely true... a couple other bussers tried to deliver other people's food, and by the end, I was about to accept.

My burger was pretty good, but nothing special. The medium rare order was ignored. The sides (sold a la carte, we split sweet potato fries and mac and cheese) were the highlight of the meal. The sweet potato fries, especially, were fantastic.

I'll be curious to visit again after the restaurant has some time to mature, so the three stars (generous based on my experience) are based on a great menu, a fun atmosphere, and the knowledge that the service has nowhere to go but up!
