Meca Cafe

Went here for lunch today.  The lobster bisque soup was amazing, turkey panini good and strawberry banana fruit blast excellent.  Prices were a little steep, but seems like most places in Evanston are expensive.  Paid $13 for bowl of soup, 1/2 panini, can of diet coke and a fruit smoothie.  I'm sure I'll be back in the future!

I've been back a couple times since. I maintain my stance that this place costs too much for the quality and quantity of the food you get.

Avoid the Baja Fish Tacos. The fish was barely warm and it came with some unappetizing cumin-heavy sauce.

Good is an understatement!  Time for this place to change its name to Megafresh.  This is the third time I have eaten there and it is just perfect.  The Reuben panini is addicting, and the service is gracious and fits the mood of this upbeat cafe.  The food is fresh, inventive and plentiful.  This place definitely is a leap above the other sandwich restaurants in town.
