Since I'm obsessed with breakfast spots, I heard I had to try Memo's. Â I went there on a weekend morning and it was pretty crowded. Â There was no wait for a table but parking is a nightmare. Â Located across from one of the main entrances to the Big E, the lot is extremely small and I was lucky to find a space. Â Many people have to find spaces on the street or in other lots. Â
The restaurant itself is really big with a pretty cool bar area for coffee. Â They also have a large selection of flavored coffees. Â The service was good but two different waitresses were waiting on us and there was a lot of confusion about what we ordered and if they had put it in yet. Â The food was good but that's about it. Â The pancakes, eggs, etc were all good but really nothing special. Â I had the banana chocolate chip pancakes and although it was exactly as expected, there really wasn't anything about it that I would be compelled to go back for. Â A good place to try if you're in the area, but not really a reason to go out of your way.
As far as breakfast joints go, Memo's isn't half bad. We stopped in because they serve breakfast all day, and we weren't exactly up with the roosters that particular morning. The breakfast menu is extensive, and throwing caution and good sense to the wind, I ordered stuffed french toast. The whole concoction was very sweet and there was absolutely nothing healthy about it, but I can't say I didn't enjoy it. The service was efficient, and prices were very reasonable.
Review Source:I recently discovered this place when I had got out of court early in the AM. My mom suggested to get breakfast, but didn't know anywhere open besides Ihop. She remembered she had gone to memo's with my godmother. So we ended up going there. Cute little place. Nicely redone. The menu has many options. Their flavored coffee is the best. Make sure to ask what flavors they have in addition to the ones they have brewed, because they can make a pot for you. My favorite is the chocolate covered cherries, but they have not gotten any in since Valentines day. Next best is the blueberry! They will give you skim milk and spelnda if you ask. They offer many healthy options on the menu also. I get the whole wheat pancakes normally, it comes with 2. I get one with blueberries and one with bananas. Theyre really big ( size of a whole plate). Scrumptious. The servers are always very nice also. Ive had some of the corn muffins before, they are a little on the dry side- if you eat them with a fork, they kind of break into crumbles. Besides that the place is great! It can get very busy in here too!! But i've never had longer than like a 5 minute wait.
Review Source:We had breakfast here today and it was great. We wanted to avoid the busier areas like Northampton for once, so we headed to West Springfield. The place is huge with tons of breakfast items to choose from. I got the corned beef hash eggs benedict and it was delicious! hash was homemade and very tasty. My dining companion got the cream cheese and strawberry stuffed french toast which she loved. Also had to try a corn muffin since they are "famous" for them, and it did not disappoint. The place was packed when we went in and there was a wait for tables so we opted to sit at the breakfast bar which was very comfortable. The staff was extremely friendly and I never had to wait for a coffee refill. Extra points for having fresh squeezed oj, which to me is an essential breakfast staple.
Review Source:If you do not pay much attention to the freshness or culinary creativity involved in your food, you will probably enjoy this place. If you are vegetarian, forget this place completely. The meat meals that my co-workers get appear to be school cafeteria quality, and not generous in quantity. I have to resort to the salad, which is usually very wilted and over-drenched in oily, over-salted, flavorless dressing. Sometimes I settle for the stale bagel with a pre-packaged side of expired cream cheese. (It tastes less stale if it's toasted, but "toasted" means heating it up on the animal-fat-grease on the grill, so... no.)
It is all cheap, and you get what you pay for.
Their baked goods and pies are okay, not spectacular. The coffee is acceptable.
The service is always sharp and attentive, but sometimes too loud or intrusive (asking way too many times how the food is while we're all chewing).
Since moving their location, the service seems to be having a hard time keeping up with the new space and crowd. The new location is also extremely noisy, considering the placement of the kitchen.
Spent a busy Sunday brunch at this West Springfield restaurant. The place was incredibly busy and lively. I really enjoyed the fact that the establishment had a bar area for coffee drinkers. I did not drink my coffee there, but the place gets brownie points for thinking that way. I ate with my wife and my father-in-law. Both him and her enjoyed their meals. We both felt though that our food seemed a little slow; even for such a busy Sunday, our waiting time for our food seemed unorthodox. But, the wait was worth it. My meal was a delicious omlette that was generously portioned. And even though the service seemed "slow", our server and other servers who walked by us broke into conversation and were incredibly nice. The only other downside, in this day and age, was that they did not accept cards. I actually do not mind that, but for my father-in-law, who graciously paid for the meal, he seemed angry over this fact. In the future, bring your cash and be hungry, you will love this place.
Review Source:Delicious breakfast. Â My omlette was extremely flavorful and big enough for two people. Â Service seemed to take awhile but it was Sunday morning so I expected a long wait and slower service. Â Also, you'd think a restaurant like this would take debit or credit cards but they don't so be sure to come with cash. Â Foodwise though, this is a great place to go for breakfast.
