In florida, the hawks are in the playoff's, of course we had to find a Chicago bar to watch the game at! Â Mikes was a cool place, they actually have two building, a restuarant and a bar. Â We stayed at the restaurant for most of the night and were lucky enough to get a table right in front of the tv for the hawks game. Â The service was great considering we were a large group of obnoxious Chicago hawks fans. Â They were very accommodating. Â The food was great, I got an appetizer called "garlic Knots" Â something i've never had before, which doesn't happen often. Â They are basically small soft gooey rolls, smothered in some kind of garlic covering, and accompanied with some marinara dipping sauce....amazing! Â I also had a Panzerotti which was great as well. Â it was nice to have some Chicago caliber food while in FL. Â They also had a pretty big beer selection. Â
Once we finished eating, we moved to the bar building to finish watching the many overtimes of the game. Â The bar section was cool, lots of tv's and very new/clean inside. Â I will say they only sell beer and wine in there, no hard liquor. Â
Id definitely give MIkes a try, especially if your visiting from Chicago!
We came here cause it was a "Chicago" bar and it was game one of the Stanley Cup Finals (#becauseitsthecup oh sorry wrong social media site) and we wanted to watch the hawks.
Great beer selection, outside patio was great. The garlic bread rolls (or whatever they are) were very good, they came with some sauce/gravy...whatever. Â I ordered a Stromboli supreme, oh god did that fill me up. We stayed until the end of the second overtime and left to make it back before the third overtime.
I would go back, the food was very good and very filling. No one complained about what we had. And we come from Chicago, where we know good Italian food.
I guess good pizza in Florida is hard to find? Â That's what I've heard and also my experience so far. Â I'm from the northeast and good pizza is found all over. Â So I guess my 3 star rating would be in comparison to NE pizza and if compared to FL pizza, it might be 4 or 5 stars.
Mike's is supposed to be good for the area, so we decided to check it out. Â It's located in a strip-mall type area with NO parking. Â They actually have free valet parking there, which was strange to see. Â
The place has a really cute courtyard outdoor seating area, which unfortunately was closed for a private party that night, so we chose to sit on the front sidewalk instead, which is nicely decorated with huge wooden flower boxes.
The pizza was ok. Â Pretty good, I guess. Â I wouldn't really describe it as thin crust, or thick crust either. Â It also wasn't crispy crust. Â It was more doughy and chewy. Â The amount of sauce was moderate and it wasn't overwhelmed with cheese. Â
The waitress was extremely friendly and the wait wasn't too bad. Â Prices were reasonable and their house red wine was surprisingly tasty.
I visited Mikes Pizza as it was listed on my dining for miles program. Â I would say it is closer to a pub, that happens to have pizza avaiable. Â They have many beers on tap, however not a large wine selection. Â
The service at Mikes was great. Â The waitress was very friendly, and helpful with selections. Â
The pizza is average.  It is a thin crust type pizza with a  crispy crust and slightly chewy edge.  There weren't a lot of toppings placed on the pizza.  The garlic knots are large, and have a great texture.  The amount of garlic however is missing.  There is tons of butter, and parmasian cheese on them. Â
I would say Mike's is OK, but nothing to write home about. Â I would visit again if I was with people that want to dine there. Â However I wouldn't go out of my way to visit.
I went to Mike's for the 1st and last time afew Monday nights ago . The parking lot was pretty full but a Mike's employee ( he was wearing the Mike's shirts) was outside on his cell phone and waved me into a parking spot on the end of the Tap House. I thought great and my friend and myself were seated in the Beer Garden.
The next morning I founded  major damaged to my front fender, to the tune of  $900.00. someone had backed into me in Mike's lot.
I went immediately back to Mike's that morning to inquiry if anyone had seen anything, as I was parked right in right of the restaurant window.
The staff informed me that no one reported anything from the previous evening but that they have the lot under video so who every hit me was on tape. She also informed me that that was not a parking space, As I said I had never been before and it was dark and oh yes the helpful Mike's employee who directed me there.
They assured me that either Mike the owner or Jenn the manager would call me back with any information. Needless to say never heard from either even after repeated request.The food and drink were good but the customer service or lack of is why I will never go back.Not even a return call of "sorry" tells me they just don't care that my car was damage in their lot.
Great place for pie and suds! =) Â Wonderful list of beers. Definitely do the sampler! (Order by number with the waitstaff!) Â The pizza is definitely tasty, says this CT/NY local who was visiting retired parents. =) Delicious garlic knot that came with a side salad. Lovely waitstaff and even a visit from Mike himself to check in and welcome us. That won my folks over- they will be going back many times, I'm sure. Worth a trip!!! I even heard about a 2 slice for $5 deal? I might go back to FL just for that!
Review Source:I tried Mike's for the first time, mostly to check out the beer selection and I was not disappointed. (I went into the tap house, not the restaurant next door.) They had a huge selection, including many IPA's which I am a fan of. They had a cider too which my wife likes, and a selection of domestic bottles, which my less adventurous friend stuck to.
The food was awesome too. The garlic rolls are simply incredible and the margherita pizza was one of the best I've had.
Really nice decor, clean. It's an upscale pub setting with a lot of TVs. I definitely recommend it, but if you have kids it's better to go into the restaurant instead of the tap house.
I am a frequent " guest " at this wonderful establishment, food is GREAT, the beer selection is awesome, the only thing this place is really lacking is a good floor staff! Â The owners are wonderful and I think too nice when it comes to running a tight ship. Â Hopefully someone reads this and handles it soon, as none of my friends want to go there to watch football any more, because they can't stand the juvinile and inexperianced waitresses!!!! Such a shame!!!! Â Try the " Mikes skillet" Â FIVE STARS!!!!!
Review Source:Solid pizza and good beers. We needed a good dinner after a long beach day and this hit the spot well. 2 adults & 2 kids (10 & 12), we sat in the beer garden which was sweet and had fun games. Service was excellent. Would come back in a second. Don't be thrown by the proximity to the gas station. Mike's is super!
