Morton's The Steakhouse

I'm giving this place 4 stars ONLY bc the food is amazing! The service here is EXTREMELY SLOW! The first time i went at 9 pm - not too many people in the restaurant only a few parties... I sat there for 15 minutes before anyone came over to say hello. Then another 5 after the introduction to order pellegrino water. I've been back once since then - service still very slow!

Great Lamb Chops, Excellent Pasta Dishes, The Spinach & Mushroom Dish w/no butter is Delicious! Wine List is Great too! Just don't go on a night you'd like to eat dinner and leave - go when you have time to deal with the slowness of the service...

My wife and I stopped in here last Thursday after the Ron White Show at the Broward center for performing arts.  I was not very impressed.  The three stars were for the service as it was all I expected and more but the food was mediocre at best.  We ordered the mozzarella and prosciutto appetizer which was good but it went down hill from there. I had the 6oz. filet, 3 grilled shrimp, and 2 bacon wrapped scallops.  The shrimp were way over done and like beef jerky and the steak was nothing special (I've had just as good at Outback for half the price).  My wife had the Alaskan King Crab and said it was fishy and overdone.  We also had two sides Broccoli which was so over done it might as well have been mush and Horseradish mashed potatoes which had a good flavor but were very dry like they were pre made and sitting since lunch service.  Overall not worth the $200 the meal with tip cost.

Usually I have spent my birthdays at Ruths Chris and wanted to try Morton's. What a disappointment.  The ambiance can't compare with Ruths Chris, The service was less than you would expect at a restaurant that has exhorbinant  prices, more than Ruths Chris.
The food was excellent except for the onion soup that had little to no cheese.
it took us 10 minutes and many tries to get the attention of the waitress. We finally called the maitre d to get our server.
I will never come here again as I don't think they appreciate what people are paying in a day and age when money is scarce. I would think that the servers would hover over their guest and make sure that glasses are refilled with water and that every need is met.
