Always good service, but definitely just come here at happy hour. I'd rather spend the money at the 50 million other steak houses in Chicago. Great happy hour menu, or whatever the cheap food time is.

Delicious food. I ordered the mixed grill with samon and shrimp. It was by far the best samon and shrimp i have ever had. It was cooked perfect and the stuffed shrimp were amazing. While the place was pricy it was worth it. Great choice for dinner.

We went their for a birthday celebration. The place was relatively empty. When we looked at the menu my wife and I where very surprised at the prices. !2 bucks for an order of fries?????. my wife ordered a house Pino Grigio. When we got the bill the waiter gave her Santa Margherita at $16.00 per glass. The last time we went to Capital Grill our bill was lest than $500 for 6 people. The last time we went to Gibsons the bill was $550 for  7 people. The food wasn't was good as Capital Grill or Gibsons.
If you ever go to Washington DC., please try Rays Place for Steaks. The best value in the country.

I will start with the service it was excellent for Saturday night. The place was busy but our waitress took care of us extremely well. The reason I gave it only 2 stars is the food and atmosphere. The food was not that good and way over priced, $57 for a porterhouse that we ordered medium well and it came kinda rare- to medium. It was small in size compared to somewhere like Gibson's or Sullivan's.
We wanted to try something new and I'm sure we won't go back. Do yourself a favor and go to Sullivan's if you want a five star restaurant.
For 2 people it cost us $250 that's a lot of money.
Oh and a side note the cocktails are ridiculous $15.95 for 1.

I have adored Morton's for years. It has always been my go-to special occasion spot--a place I knew would deliver delicious food and a great atmosphere time and again.

I heard that the chain had been purchased by Houston-based restaurant operator Landry's Inc. (who also owns McCormick & Schmick's, Rainforest Cafe and Bubba Gump Shrimp Co... oh boy). Obviously, I was not happy to hear the ownership had changed, but I was hoping the new owners would stay true to the original formula that worked so well for this Chicago classic.

I visited the Naperville location for a birthday dinner recently - it was my first time back since the acquisition. I have to say, it was an all-around terrible experience.

It was a Saturday night, so it was understandably busy. The tables were arranged on top of each other, and the wait staff was running around so quickly they nearly knocked into each other and us many times. But for as many waiters as we saw running around, we had awful service. We had more than one server introduce themself, then disappear, so we weren't even sure who our main server was. They repeatedly disappeared throughout the meal... it took 30+ minutes each time we needed them: to order, to receive our food, to get our bill. When my food came out and the steak was bleeding raw (I ordered it medium), it took me 20 minutes to find a server to send it back.

The food was sad. Morton's steaks used to be fresh, juicy, and cooked to perfection. These steaks were of average quality--not much better than something you'd get at a run-of-the-mill Outback Steakhouse. As I mentioned, they were extremely undercooked. Between waiting to send it back and the time it took to cook it more, my sides went cold. The steak came back even sadder than before... not tender or prepared with any sort of care, just a bit darker.

The sides and salads were OK--nothing to write home about, but no complaints. The one thing that was great (and always has been great) was their chocolate lava cake. Thankfully, they did not mess with that one! Also, they did take my meal off the bill and apologized, which was appreciated but not enough to redeem the experience.

Overall, the sub-par food quality, bad service, and less-than-relaxing atmosphere proved to me that the Morton's I once knew and loved is gone.

I wonder if I can just carry out the lava cake and skip the rest of the mess?

I have no idea how or why this place could get a 3+ star rating - it was exactly what I hoped it would be.

Because I travel extensively, I've happily been exposed to many impressive steak joints, and Mortons more than once. I was in Naperville on business, and decided to seek out a nice dinner; Mortons was instantly at the top of my list.

As I often do, I sought out a place at the bar to enjoy a cocktail and proceeded to order my dinner 'to go.' The 'To Go' reaction is sometimes annoying to me (sorry if you don't like my choice, but if I want this fabulous fare to go, you better make it happen), but if it was negative here, it was quite subdued. I ordered the mixed grill with a 6 ounce filet, three grilled shrimp and two bacon-wrapped scallops, along with lobster bisque and some onion bread.

When I made it back to my hotel, I was delighted with the food - warm, perfectly seasoned and wonderfully accompanied by an orange sauce, what tasted like a hollandaise sauce, butter and a grilled lemon. The steak melted in my mouth, and the shrimp and scallops were very nice, too. The bread - warm and tasty - would've been better in a garlic variety, but it was very nice.

So, here's the deal - the bar service was wonderful, and so was the food. I highly recommend you check out Morton's in Naperville!

Where are these high starred reviews coming from?  Not to be rude, but some people need to get out more.  Morton's.  Ugh.  Seriously, this place needs to get over itself.  Overpriced food is just the start.  An indifferent waitstaff/management and marginal cocktails only make it worse.  I've been here a few times.  This last trip in, will literally be my last.  My friends and I were charged regular menu prices during happy hour.  We initially paid the $300 tab and went on our merry way...when the buzz wore off, my friend realized we overpaid.  She called the MOD.  He said they didn't have happy hour on Fridays, she asked him to read the signage in the bar area that clearly reads M-F.  Next, she made a trip in and was told we ordered 15 minutes after happy hour ended.  Brilliant.  The Rocket Scientist that doubles as a server failed to mention this factoid when we were POINTING TO MENU ITEMS OFF THE HAPPY HOUR MENU to place our food order.  Listen hear Morton's management, this is a group that recently dropped $700 at Michael Jordan's steakhouse THEN followed that up with more food at another place.  We are far from cheap or seeking handouts.  It's the principal of the matter now.  And in a town with SO many more steakhouse choices?  Shame on management at the Naperville location.  You've lost all our business.  I'm now convinced Morton's is frequented by those that simply don't know any better.

When I first walked in the door I thought I was going into someone's house? What's with the cube for a lobby? There were 6 of us on a Friday afternoon in the bar. It really didn't matter much because the place was empty. Love the stuffed bar stools, very comfy. We were all over the place on drinks and appetizers. The smoked salmon pizza was pretty good, the mac and cheese was nothing to talk about, even with the bacon. Shrimp cocktail, how do you screw that up? The sauce was way too sweet. The mini crab cakes were mini and the filet sandwiches were shameful. I would not even think of comparing them to Gibson's. The blue cheese fries would have been awesome. If they didn't cost almost eleven dollars. And next time try melting the cheese first. The service was good until the end. Our waitress was MIA and we had to get our last couple of drinks from the bartender as well as the outrageous bill. $270 bucks and we didn't even have dinner. But what we did find out was they didn't charge us the happy hour prices for the drinks. We called and they told us we were nuts, until we pointed them to their website. Still waiting for the call back.

6/3/2012 Three calls into the manager and all that I get is, he is not in and we will have him call you. Really! From the tumble weeds going by I would assume that the manager had all the time in the world to pick-up or return our call to satisfy a customer. Not asking for anything for free. Just what they posted and then shanked us out of. Getting this a lot lately.

Great steak place. I prefer Ruth's Chris but Morton's wasn't bad at all.

My boyfriend and I went here for date night while we were living apart and saw each other infrequently. Over the course of our meal, we had mentioned this our server. I got the filet which was very juicy and delicious! I don't care what people say - I am a filet lady. We weren't feeling hungry enough to order any sides (everything was a la carte) and I sort of wish we had, in order to sample more of their menu. Maybe next time? Anyway, even though we declined dessert, our server brought us a slice of cheesecake on the house because "she knows how hard it is to have a long distance relationship." Little awkward but such a sweet thought!

Astonishingly expensive for what you receive.

It's a good restaurant, but it offers nothing to justify their prices.  Setting price aside and comparing Morton's strictly to other restaurants in it's class, its average.  No doubt my meal was well prepared with quality ingredients, as one should expect, but the recipe lacked inspiration.  The service was on par for this scale of dining, but again, nothing to set it above the rest.  The atmosphere was clean, moderately quiet, and contemporary formal just as it should be, but not very original.  The location is good, easy to get to, and there is plenty of convenient parking, but when considering what you're going to pay, its the suburbs not downtown (Chicago).  By the way, you can dine in excellent restaurants downtown for much less.

The only thing that distinguished Morton's from other like restaurants is their shamefully high prices.  You can do better for less.  If you find yourself in the area looking for a restaurant of this scale, White Chocolate Grill is right next door and has never disappointed.

High Quality with prices to match. Yes you are paying allot for the prestigious name on the front. Great for a Business dinner or very special occasion where you dont mind dropping that kind of coin.  Its a place you can definitely take someone to impress. The food is standard Steak House fare everything is done perfectly. You know what to expect and it delivers

Mortons goes above and beyond expectations every time. They serve the best steak in Naperville and the service is always superb. As a regular at Hugo's and Sullivans downtown Naperville, I can say that Morton's is a step above.

    Just an awful experience.

First we had reservations at 7pm on New Years Eve.. We were not seated until 730.. I don't know what the point in even having the reservations was..

We had a yelp deal that brought it to 54.50 a person for a salad, appetizer, 7 oz single cut fillet, side dish and dessert. Seems like a really good deal right? I think the salad was the only good part of my meal.

The 7 oz fillet which is normally 44 dollars on the menu (which is ridiculously over priced for a petite) was way over cooked for everyone and charred too. The meat was tasteless, and came with a terrible sauce on the side.

The side dishes lacked flavor, and I would love to know how their crab cake could possibly be considered as jumbo. I can guarantee you if I would had ordered that as an appetizer for the 11-14 dollars that it's listed as I would had stormed out of the restaurant without paying for a thing.

We had the creme brulee for dessert and it was very average/sub par.

My friends and I will never be returning to Morton's steak house, and we will be warning everyone not to waste their money at a place that wouldn't know flavor or  reasonable pricing if it hit them in the face

Came here on a date. The entrance is a little ghetto. Inside is very nice, exceptionally well maintained and clean.  Everything on the menu is ala carte.  I had the chicago bone in ribeye and had ordered it medium rare and was served towards the medium well side.  The server never checked back with me and was very disappointed in a $60 steak to be over cooked.  If you have a lot of extra money to blow on okay food in a nice place with a pretencious wait staff this is the place for you.  Wine selection is great.  Our dessert was also just okay.  Will not be back unless it is on someone elses dollar.

I came here with my out of town family for a special occasion. I started out with sparkling cinnamon apple champagne drink which was delicious. Each of us ordered a steak, I ordered a small filet mignon. It was cooked to perfection and delectable. The caesar salad was top notch, along with the garlic mashed potatoes. For dessert we indulged in the hot chocolate cake (basically chocolate lava cake) which was delicious, but I can order the same thing for a third of the price at Chilis.
Overall the experience was enjoyable, until the bill came. We came to the restaurant expecting high prices and they were very high. The cheapest entree on the menu is around $45.

It's Morton's, but not all Morton's are created equal (the one in Westchester, IL sucked and isn't there anymore). This one is better than average.

Great bar, a small outdoor area where you can smoke a cigar (heaven forbid!) and a dining room that doesn't come across as a banquet hall.

The food, of course, is excellent.

This Morton's location is a cut above the rest.

As expected, the service is incredible and the steaks are delicious.  The steak presentation is sort of tedious, especially with a very unhappy lobster staring right at you.  However, it's nice to finally have a high end steakhouse in the Western Suburbs.

I came here with some friends and had a blast.  Great service and fantastic food.  I am a fan and would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking to sink their teeth into some tender steak.

    WALKING IN
    -----------------

First thing, the entrance is kinda ghetto.  The door is facing west towards the parking lot area, but the valet booth is posted up right next to it.  It appears more like a service side entrance since it is undecorated.  The Cheesecake Factory, for example, has a main entrance with massive doors which leaves little confusion as to where you should enter the structure.

I noticed the restaurant is pretty small, some could call it cozy.  The bar area has about 6-7 seats at bar itself and 4-5 small tables that could seat 3-4 each.  The dining area has approx. 15 tables with wine bottles strewn about, almost looking like a warehouse or distribution center for alcohol hah.  Separating the bar/entrance and the dining area is a massive wine cellar, pretty cool.

I highly recommend making a reservation through OpenTable.  Walking in w/o a reservation could lead to disastrous wait times.  My reservation went without a hitch and we were served promptly.

    SERVICE
    -------------
Quick, friendly and quasi-entertaining.  Before giving us menus our server brought up a tray with all the meat/entree choices.  It was nice to have a look at what you could order instead of just relying on the menu.  Menus were clear and concise, it was easy to order.

Since i rarely eat at high end restaurants, i went all out with appetizer, entree and dessert:

    FOOD
    ---------

    starter = 5 onion soup.
~~Opinion:  Tasty and just the right amount of food.  My friend had an iceberg salad and it seemed entirely all to much.

    entree = Cajun Ribeye (medium)
~~Opinion:  FANTASTIC!!  A generous serving even though it came from the 'slightly smaller' steak selection on the menu.  I don't know what else to say, it was expertly cooked and i enjoyed every ounce.

Sides = Jumbo Asparagus, Mashed potatoes & sauteed spinach/mushrooms
~~Opinion: These were tasty but fairly unremarkable.  Nothing here stood out but they complimented the main entree nicely.  We ordered 3 sides for 5 people and it worked out just right.  The sides are on the small side but it works out okay since the steak is very filling.

    dessert = Double Chocolate Mousse
~~Opinion: YUMMMMMMMMMM.  So rich and flavorful, texture was perfect.  I tried my friend's carrot cake, that was a great choice too.  The frosting wasn't overpowering and the cake itself was tasty.

    OVERALL
    --------------

I certainly spent a lot, my bill alone was just about $100 after tax and tip, and this was without any alcohol.  You could do a lot worse or better depending on how spendy you choose to be.

Another thing i wanted to point out was the dress code.  Yelp has it listed as dressy, but you can come here in casual wear.  I was wearing jeans and a sweater.  The website specifically indicates no shorts, t-shirts or sandals.... however i did see one teenager wearing a hoodie+athletic shorts ha!!  So as long as you are respectably clothed, you're good to go.

    Mortons is always great.

Have had some sloppy service issues at this location compared to others on a couple occasions.

This location like them all, needs to get more affordable selection Piedemonte wines on the list.

I dined at Morton's for the first time this past Friday night with no reservations at 6:30pm.  Surprisingly, there was zero wait!  Our main entrees were delicious, but the side dishes were average.  The restaurant has a formal, special occasion atmosphere, with friendly staff dressed in bow ties.  When stepping into a Morton's, you should already know the menu prices are high ($50/entrée). Overall, I can see how some people may really enjoy the place but it's too formal for me and I've had better experiences elsewhere.

    Main Entrees:
Our main entrees (Cajun Ribeye and Large Lump Crabcakes) were really delicious.  The ribeye was juicy with noticeable flavor and the right amount of seasoning.  The three crabcakes were big chunks of crab, lightly fried, served with a tasty lemon hollandaise sauce on the side.

    Side Dishes:
Our sides (Creamed Spinach and Baked Potato) were average with nothing special about them. A server came by to specifically dress our potato with toppings (sour cream, butter, bacon) in front of us.  That was a nice touch, but the potato dish itself looked and tasted completely regular.

    Staff and Service:
Our server Ryan was friendly.  There was also a constant flow of staff around handling different types of jobs.  (Main server, appetizer servers, manager who drops by the table, water person, busboy guy, etc.)

    Building:
When entering the front door, it feels like a back or side entrance.  I actually checked around the building to see if we were entering through the correct doorway.  The building owner really needs to consider reconstructing this area.

    Prices:
Our two entrees and two side dishes totaled over $100+.  Definitely check out the menu and prices and ask about specials prior to sitting down.  (I didn't know we could ask for specials packages until I read others' Yelp! Reviews!)

    Hours of Operation:
This location is open for dinner and select days for lunch.  If you are thinking about taking work guests there for lunch, it's best to call and check the available daytime dates first.

Wow, if you want a great steak, you can't go wrong with Morton's, unless money is an issue!   I've been to the original Morton's on State Street once, and now here in Naperville.   This time I had a 24 oz Porterhouse for $50.  I also had a wedge salad which goes for $9.75.  The steaks are aged for 2 weeks.  You can taste the difference in one bite, and you pretty much get what you pay for.  Service was also top notch as you might expect, folks are friendly, and they have a nice, comfortable and not overly stiff atmosphere.  Great place for that special occasion dinner, when you want to splurge, or when someone else is paying.

Where's the beef? Here's where you'll find it!

Morton's know their meat, no one can deny that but if you do then you don't deserve to be there.

My first visit was for Happy Hour after a long day of work and the service was just what I needed to pick me up, since I don't drink. The appetizers were just a plus! Crab cakes with REAL crab meat, what a concept!

My second visit was what cemented my love for this paradise. I ordered the Prime Rib and every bite was a piece of heaven. Steak, the way it was meant to be eaten! I thought I could stop at just half the slab but my will grew weak and I had to finish. Every morsel melted, as my taste buds jump to rejoice. Yes, it's that good people!

The people that complain about the prices are probably retarded, but they probably don't realize they're retarded, so you really can't blame them.  They probably also tip 12% because the prices are so high.

This isn't an average steakhouse. If you want a $20 steak with a side salad with ranch, then go to outback. Expect to pay around $70-$100 a person and have a phenomial meal. The Porterhouse is world class and the filet has a great, unique flavor.  The sides can easily be split between 2 people, unless you're a magoo.

The cocktails are mixed very well and in a glass that Leo McGarry would appreciate. I absolutely loved their manhattan

We celebrated our 5 yr anniversary there and they gave us a customized menu that was a nice touch and a complementary dessert.

They have a solid bar special right now for $6 martini's and $7 cocktails and 1/2 apps that is very reasonable if you don't want a full meal or just need a quick drink.

Wedding Anniversary!!! Time for a trip to Morton's!

We normally go to the Schaumburg location, but with the new Naperville location down the street, Schaumburg can take a seat in the back. The location is perfect - easy to find, tons of parking, and just comfortable.

Our trip to Morton's was as a group of four. All of us came in with a game plan in mind already - we went for the 2 for 99 special.

Our server was Bradley - request him, he is FANTASTIC!!! Bradley, great job!!!

What I love about this place is that they DO NOT rush you out the door. For a meal that could easily run $100 a person, they better not - but you BETTER tip well for taking a table. Going in, I knew our experience at Morton's would be 2-3 hours. Quality food requires that amount of time. If I wanted to be in and out in 30 minutes, we would have gone to TGI Fridays for a sub-par meal.

Even though we went with the 99 meal special, we still received the full menu presentation. They really explain everything to you in detail to help you make a good decision. Also, for those that are afraid they will not walk away satisfied after having a fillet Mignon with thei 99 special, don't worry - you can upgrade to a much larger steak for only $8. I was a little surprised by that upgrade rate - for Morton's that is a deal!

Each course of our meal came out with plenty of time to fully enjoy the plate and to let the food settle. Great spacing!

We did have one issue - my wife's and my steak were undercooked - slightly, just a little. Without hesitation, one of the hosts took care of us personally. He brought it right to the chef - open view to the chef from our table. The chef took care of everything right away - dropped what he was doing to fix our meal. The host stayed there with the chef as well - I'm talking personal service here... two people dedicated to our meal in a very high quality restaurant. You do not get this at Sullivan's or any other high end steakhouse.

The fix only took a few minutes and was perfect - nothing could have been better.

Overall, Morton's delivered - they did a fantastic job of providing quality service and attention. The food quality is unbeatable.

I am a lifelong Morton's fan. Having one in Naperville is one step closer to heaven.

This was our first visit to the Naperville location and the food and experience were impressive. I had made reservations for my fiance's birthday, when we arrived the menus were personalized with her name and then they took our picture for us to take home. The entire staff was very accommodating, but our server was outstanding. She made us feel comfortable from the beginning while taking us through the menu selections, and that exceptional service continued throughout the entire meal. All of our needs were anticipated, and her personality was very entertaining.
It's not on the menu, but you can get info online...ask for the "Signature Three-Course Dinner" - $99 for two! Includes salads, appetizers, filet (or other options), side dish, and dessert! You can't beat this deal...and it's all you'll need! We will definitely be back.

    Short-Take:

    Food and Service are great.

Noise Level and crowded ambiance detract from the experience.

Price seems too high for what you actually get. We had 2 glasses of wine, 2 steaks, 2 salads, a shared side and a shared desert.  We paid $185 (after tax) for 2 people.

Again:  The food and service are great, but the total experience at this location doesn't justify the "5 star" price tag imho.

Anytime someone mentions steaks I immediately think of Mortons. I can't get enough of these well marbled succulent hunks of beef. Not to mention the dry aging process. Oh my, and the garlic mashed potatoes! How about the beefsteak tomato and mozzarella cheese appetizer salad! Just like when I know I'm going there, my mouth is watering. I need to get back here soon. OH!! and they have my favorite 12 year old scotch, The McCallan. Four of these makes for one MELLOW night :)

Expensive, EXPENSIVE, Expensive, and not worth it.....over priced.....even though the service and food was excellent.

It was time to celebrate 15 years of a life sentence (anniversary on 2/11) and we decided to stay out West instead of going into the city.....which we probably should have done.

The place has the strangest entrance I have been in....beautiful on the outside you open the door and go into a really small/ugly space, then you open another door and head into the bar/reception area. This was a Thursday night around 7:30 pm and I had not made a reservation, but the place was probably 60% full. Hostess was incredibly nice and seated us at a booth along the back (it was by the windows and pretty cold).

The place looks like a traditional Morton's, and would fit well in the city. I think its WAY over the top for Naperville, trying to be something that it is not in a suburban setting.......

Our server, Kailey, was EXCELLENT, and the service throughout the night was perfect. We had heard they had a priced fixed menu, and although it was not initially offered to us, when we asked it was offered. It is a salad, app, dessert, and entree (reduced size) for $49.99.

Hot Mamma started with a campaign (16.95) and I had a Chimay - but had not idea it was $24, I did like the iced wine bucket they brought over to keep it cold!

I didn't want a salad or app, just a steak and the price of that by itself was 49.99. The steak is HUGE but not great, and I probably only ate 1/2 of it...but $49 for a steak???? Hot Mamma had the sea scallops (great) and the fillet (ok). They made a big deal that it was our anniversary, free desert and even came over and took a picture and put it in a (paper) frame for us at no additional charge.

The service was GREAT, the food was wonderful, but I still think its overpriced. Its more than I have paid for some unbelievable dinners in the city and through out the country......maybe priced right for a city center, but not Western suburbs.

    First and last time here.

    Piper 16.95
    Chimay 24.00
    New York Strip 49.00
    Mashed Potatoes, Garlic 9.00
    Upside Down Apple Pie 12.50
    S&S Salad for 1 0.00
    Steak & Seafood for 1 49.99
    Filet and sea scallops
    Mortons Hot Choc ck
    60215 Charles Krug Gen 100.00

    Total - $269.48

I have attended multiple work-related functions at this particular Morton's.  I have always liked the food, service and drinks, mostly because I am not paying...but...

    Holy overpriced wine list, Batman.

ONE glass of Santa Margherita pinot grigio at SEVENTEEN DOLLARS?  I could buy a bottle for that price at Binny's!  Shit, I can even get a glass of the same wine for $12 tops in the city!  This Morton's isn't even downtown Naperville., it's in weird, random, right off 88 strip mall pseudo-Naperville!

I'll go back on the various expense accounts, but I won't be spending my own money on such obvious price-gouging.

TERRIBLE STEAKS, JERKY WAITESS, PRETENTIOUS..SKIP THIS NIGHTMARE..there is a reason that over 80 percent of their business is from expense accounts..they cook their steaks at such a high heat that they burn the outside while leaving the inside rare..when I was eating they tried to take my uneaten food literally at least 10 times..I mean literally, that number is not an exaggeration..the waitess and staff were very unfriendly.  If their food was free I would still not go because first of all thier food is not good and second the atmosphere sucks.

Like others have said, the service is second to none. We came here to celebrate our 2nd wedding anniversary. We got there a little early, right after work. But the staff welcomed us in anyway and offered anything off the menu. We were greeted by the general manager and the service was very prompt.

The food was excellent as well. We started off with broiled scallops wrapped in bacon (3) and onion soup for my wife. We then moved on to the Cajun rib-eye, the best steak I have ever tasted, and the Australian lobster tail, the largest I have ever seen. Everything is ala carte so we ordered a side of garlic roasted green beans and potato skins. They give you the option of butter, sour cream, and bacon with the skins. Just say no, or add it yourself because they just dumped the toppings on and ruined those. The lobster tail was OK, a little dry and the green beans were good.

Now that said, everything plus 2 glasses of wine ($10/glass) came to $210. That is why I gave the 4 stars and not 5. The steak was the best I have ever had, but not worth the money.

Will I go back? Maybe. But I would more likely spend the $200 on a mini weekend vacation rather than a night at a steak house.

The saying "you get what you pay for" is appropriate for this place...well-prepared, delicious food, prompt and attentive service, and first class wine list and desserts are what you can expect. Pricey but great!

I visited Morton's with my husband and kids on a Saturday night a few weeks back. First you do pass through an unusually tiny  room, not sure why? Then, you enter into Morton's bar/restaurant area. A lot of dark wood, large booths, white linens, and low lighting in the decor. I have been to this location 3 or 4 times and the Westchester location a couple of times and every time have had a great experience. The dining room seems to be divided by how you are dressed...more casual diners are separated from the well-heeled. Makes everyone's dining experience more comfortable, I think. Last time, my husband ordered the porterhouse rare....and it came rare! He had to send it back to be cooked some more. In most restaurants, it is the opposite. You ask for rare and it comes back with some pink. ..not Morton's, you get what you ask for.

There is a definite 1960s ratpack kind of vibe...and the menu and crowd kind of reflect that too.  A lot of older gentleman and celebrating couples in the mix. You could easily imagine Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra would be hanging out here. No kids except for ours were in the restaurant.

As far as the menu, Meatosaurus Rexes will be happy here! There are at least 8-12 different enormous steaks/cuts you can choose from. The waiters wheeled out a cart for our perusal, the steaks and lobster perfectly displayed. Crablegs and chicken are available, but really if you are coming here it is for the steaks. All the items are priced ala carte. The side items include a lot of potato and creamed dishes. Price wise, a side of fries will cost you 8 dollars, mashed 10 dollars,  and a steak will cost you anywhere from 40-60 dollars each. The place was packed, so I don't think the recession news affected this crowd!

The service is extremely attentive, which is what you would expect for a higher end restaurant. Gracious and professional service from everyone who works here. Perfect example...the waiter accidentally forgot to give me my leftover steak before I left the restaurant. When I got halfway home, I called to ask if they still had it, thinking that I would drive back. (It was a 40 dollar steak after all!) Amazingly, they sent a driver to my home with my steak dinner and apologized for the inconvenience. Wow! Now THAT is amazing service!

Desserts are very good. The creme brulee is the real deal, not the vanilla pudding with burnt sugar that you get at some restaurants. Also, if you love coffee, be sure to order it here. Perfectly brewed...not sure how they do it, but everytime we ordered, they came out with a perfect cup of coffee.

For kids...um, not a lot of options. I would say that if they aren't into steak, try the breaded chicken cutlets. There is no kid's menu, but they did let us divide up a chicken dinner between three plates and it worked out well... and since there were fries on the menu, the kids were happy.

Morton's is a great place once you get past the stickershock. We definitely save this place for special birthdays and anniversaries...but if you love steaks, this place should be on your list to visit.

We went here to celebrate a special birthday for a loved one and could not have asked for a more perfect experience. When we arrived, there were the menus waiting personalized for the occasion.  Our guest of honor received a free dessert of her choice, which I was not expecting.

The service was absolutely perfect. Our server was friendly and efficient. We never had to ask for anything because he was just so attentive. Every person we encountered was like that, from the gracious welcome when we walked in to barely being able to take a few sips of our water without being topped off again.

The food was all incredibly delicious. We all had steaks, which are ala carte. The sides and desserts were amply sized, easy to share. The onion bread loaf in the beginning was a big hit with all of us. We did not try the wine, but our drinks from the bar were definitely mixed well.

Pricewise it is definitely a splurge, but we were expecting that. They gave us the perfect special occasion, which made it worth it.

It's a Morton's so I don't have to go into too much detail about the place .... yelp the other locations, the Naperville one is very much on par with the other Morton's in the chain.

The Naperville location is very convenient near I-88 and Naper Blvd.  The outside of the restaurant has sort of a strange entrance - you kinda feel like you're walking in the side or back of the place, but once you're inside you're greeted very promptly by a warm atmosphere, with the bar to your left, and the main dining room straight ahead.  The large-ish wine room is visible from almost anywhere in the restaurant.  My wife and I are not huge wine fans, but if you were, it seemed like they had a great selection.

Our server was very attentive, and did the whole Morton's tableside menu thing - even though we were there for the $99 steak/seafood for two special.

Don't let them take that onion loaf from you after your appetizers and salads - take it home with you!

Molten chocolate cake is a must try for dessert.

We'll be back...gotta pinch those pennies though.
