Stopped in here for the first time after running some errands in the neighborhood. It was a cold day and a hot bowl of noodles sounded like just the thing for lunch. Â From the moment I walked in I was impressed. The decor was modern and clean but still warm and inviting. Â The menu was displayed on the wall with full color photos of each dish, including pastas entrees, soups and sandwiches. My eyes immediately spotted the Thai Curry soup. Â I was at first confused that none of the dishes had meat in them but then noticed that a variety of meat selections could be added at a small additional cost. I ordered the soup with chicken. Â It occurred to me that flatbread would go well with this soup, and to my pleasant surprise, the restaurant offers both flatbread and focaccia bread on the menu. Â There was a nice selection of alternative drinks at the counter, including a nice, not-too-sweet peach soda. Â After paying the very reasonable price of less than twelve dollars, I was given a ticket with a number that I took to my table. Â The food was ready in just a few minutes and was served to me on real dishes, not plastic, with a cloth napkin and metal utensils. Â The soup was wonderful! Â Fantastic Asian flavors, not too spicy, with plenty of hearty noodles.
To sum it all up. Wow! Â Table service, a nice dining room, good service, great ambiance, delicious food and real utensils and napkins for under $12.00!!
It doesn't get any better than that. Can't wait to go back!
I don't get the hype for this chain. Maybe I order wrong. "Burn her at the stake!"
I get the Wisconsin Mac and Cheese the times I've gone. I don't know if it's too salty or has too many additives but it makes me bloat like Violet in Willy Wonka.
Everyone I've been with raves about their choices so I'm giving it a 3.
i work around the corner. have come in several times and had to leave before getting any food [or take it to go in a hurry and try to scarf it while running back to work] because the service here is friendly but absolutely glacial.
the japan noodles are great, but i won't come back to eat them at this location because i don't have all day.
I've been to Noodles & Co before, and I've never really thought much of it.
My visit yesterday definitely solidified my opinion of this cozy-looking chain.
1. The Pad Thai noodles stuck together like molasses.
2. Chicken was like a hockey puck as someone said in their review of this place.
3. Very few things on their menu were gluten-free. I asked if what I was ordering was gluten-free, so the cashier gave me a list. The list was nice, but I noticed that the only Asian dish that was gluten-free was Pad Thai. Â For some reason, Macaroni and Cheese was listed as gluten-free as well. My point is, on the menu board, the Asian dishes were described as being cooked with rice noodles, so that means they put wheat into all of their damn sauces. Can't American fast food chains refrain from adding wheat into everything they dish out to people? Especially with Asian dishes where wheat isn't even an integral part of the cuisine.
The carrots were essentially raw when I was eating them with the dish too.
I don't plan on going back unless someone takes me in there by forceful action.
Just in case you didn't realize, if you're gluten-free, forget Noodles&Co.
Noodles and Company is a chain restaurant but quite yummy. Â They have won me over with their deicisious food and customer service. Â The staff was upfront about a mess up in kitchen that was delaying my food and even provided me a coupon for a free meal another day. Â I have been back a few times and truly enjoy the food.
Four stars instead of five just for the price of adding tofu to a meal. Â Almost three dollars for a small portion of tofu seems steep to me.
I have yet to try the noodle dishes from vending machines in Asia, but I'd imagine this is pretty much what they taste like. Â The food at this chain restaurant isn't cooked, it's assembled and heated up, and it tastes like it. Â Should be about $6 tops, with or without the chicken hockey puck option. Extra star for the friendly enough service.
Review Source:I come here so often that it's actually not even funny. Pad Thai with shrimp does the trick! You can add a side salad for $1! Can't beat it. Consistently delicious.
They also have the BELLY card here and you can redeem 30pts for a free entree! Definitely the best reward from the BELLY card that I've ever gotten.
Okay.. so Noodles and Company should be all about Noodles..
However.. I did not partake in any eating of Noodles today but..
my son Brian did and he enjoyed his macaroni and cheese..
But.. for myself.. I was so excited about the Coke Freestyle Machine..
I love this machine, with all it's variations of flavors..
Coke Zero Orange, Diet Barqs Vanilla, Diet Vanilla and Cherry Coke..
Boy.. I was loving this machine..
And.. in all fairness to Noodles and Company I have had their
Spaghetti before and it was pretty good..:)
So.. I Â will return to this establishment and partake in some
Noodle Eating.once again in the near future..
Loved the cozy feeling to this restaurant also..
Cozy is always good..:)
So.. I like the Noodles Here..
Just loving the coke freestyle machine more..
I like this place..
Definitely worthy of a 4 star rating..:)
Ok so maybe my expectations were too high, or maybe I should have just ordered something that is impossible to mess up (mac and cheese), but I made the unfortunate decision to get the indonesian peanut stir fry. DONT DO IT.
I could not even eat it, even though I was hungry. It was strange tasting and then oddly bland. I walked out wondering what happened. I can't look in in the face when I walk by on the street.
I feel obligated to write a kind review to Noodles bc they never fail to provide me with a free bowl of noodles on my birthday.
pasta fresca with grilled chicken = happiness
free pasta fresca with grilled chicken = bliss
thank you for making getting one year older a little more pleasant :)
Both times I've been here, the staff seemed nice and friendly, but the two things I've had (mac and cheese with chicken and Japanese pan noodles) have been pretty bland unless doused in sriracha. My snickerdoodle cookie wasnt without flaw either - not very snickery, nor very doodly. In fairness, i did recently sustain a sprained tongue during a marshmallow eating contest.
Almost docked a star because they played Vampire Weekend, but then they made up for it with Empire Of The Sun.
Noodles & Company is my go-to lunch spot when I want something quick, easy, and cheap. Â I love the 'you pick three' option and always get their tossed salad with sesame soy, side chicken breast, and the Wisconsin Mac & Cheese. I love their mac and cheese! Â I get great joy out of stirring the creamy and cheesy goodness when it arrives at the table steaming hot. Â It is some of the best I have ever had, which is shocking for me to say considering it comes from a chain fast/casual dining establishment. Â I haven't been adventurous and tried anything else because I am so obsessed with their mac and cheese... maybe one day. I also love that Sriracha is readily available on the tables. Â
The employees are always friendly and clear your table for you when you are finished. Â Wonderful establishment.
I love Noods and Co. as a company. Did you know that if you sign up online you get a free meal right away AND a free meal for your b-day! Also, if you "like" them on Facebook they have weekly contests to win free food :)
This Noods and Co. is fantastic! The employees have always been really very friendly. I have no complaints. Great options for vegetarians and meat eaters alike. OH! Also, you can always substitute anything for anything else for NO CHARGE!
I'm not sure there's a huge need for a place that serves up spaghetti & meatballs, pad thai, and straight up mac & cheese all under the same roof.
Nevertheless, if you find yourself with a group of indecisive carbo-loaders desperate to dine together but craving polar opposite noodle options... this may be your best bet. Â Nobody's going to leave thinking they just had a meal they are dying to have again, but everyone's gonna get their noodle fix.
Bonus awkward for serving up spaghetti & meatballs to the guy next to me with a pair of chopsticks.
I love the Whole Grain Tuscan Fettucine--I hold the mushrooms and add the Parmesan Crusted Chicken! YUM!!! (how late are they open..I am craving now!) Also love the potstickers. I fancy myself a potsticker queen and these are amazing! Thin wrappers and delicate insides with a spicy sauce for dipping.
We dropped a business card in and WON a tasting for up to 6. We called to let them know and they said they wanted a day's notice because they prepare one of everything for us to sample and we get a tour of the place. We were hungry so just opted for an un-tour guided meal. They obliged and halfway through the meal brought us a sample of their desserts and handed us free meal vouchers! SO NICE!
FAN FOR LIFE!
My 5 year old likes it. I like it. Nuff said. (great review...)
For those of you older than a 5 year old here are some specifics: I didn't know if I was going to like it the first time I went in but I have to say, I am a fan and go now at least one a week. I get the Pesto Cavatappi with Parmesan Chicken. And then I put a little of that spicy Saracha on it.
Awesome!. My kid loves it too. The food combinations are different enough to where you aren't bored with the same noodle dishes. The meals are reasonably priced and the restaurant is always clean.
Also, they have the best rice krispy treats! (told you I have a 5 year old...)They are so soft! I like that it has an open portion that isn't on the street in the front and also like the service I receive.
So I've been to a few different Noodles and Companies now and I have to say, I'm still liking it for what it is.
I have tried the Mac and Cheese-very tasty. And also the Pasta Fresca. I actually had been craving the Pasta Fresca for the last month and we finally went there last night.
Still friendly workers and very fast service, better here than at some suburb Noodles & Co I've been to.
I got the Regular 5.25 Pasta Fresca and as always it tasted great. The only thing was, I didn't get very many veggies with my noodles. Maybe four pieces of onions total? Three chunks of tomato? That sort of bummed me out, because veggies aren't that expensive, so I expect a little bit more than three bites. My husband had a decent amount of chicken with his meal, so I don't understand why I was cheated with veggies. But the tastes were the same as always, so yummy! Just wished I had more veggies to make my meal a bit tastier and a bit healthier too. I will give it one more try though because it could have been an off night. I love the concept of this chain too much to write it off completely! And everything does taste really good, so next time, I might just pay an additional 75 cents and get extra veggies for my noodles. After all, the prices are pretty cheap to begin with!
Just yesterday when I mentioned Noodles & Co. to a friend, she said, "what's Noodles?"
"What's Noodles?!?!" I replied. How could she not know about the greatness of Noodles & Co.?
Have you ever had one of those days where you're going to dinner with friends but everyone wants something different? I want Japanese, I want Italian, I could go for a salad, meh, I need comfort food like mac n' cheese. Well confused and conflicted diners, make your way on over to Noodles and enjoy whichever lovely carb-filled meal you would like, and your pocketbook will definitely not complain either.
If you want some yummy for your tummy I especially recommend going for the Japanese pan noodles or pesto cavatappi. Mmmmm, carbs. Atkins participants not welcome.
I went to Noodles today with my  roommate and the food was great. Everything was perfectly cooked, came out quickly without a hitch.
TIP: If you sign up for Noodle-grams (yes I'm a total nerd) you periodically get coupons, we got a 2 for 1, you can't beat dinner for 2 for under $10. Plus I ended up taking part of mine home so it'll last me 2 meals.
If you dislike real ethnic food, and prefer a more homogenized American setting, this place is for you!
Everything they serve is a bastardization of some ethnic dish, unless it's macaroni and cheese, which is pretty hard to screw up- and if you go out to eat with the intention of consuming mac and cheese or buttered noodles, I feel sort of bad for you; and your lack of a refined palate.
Also, their website makes me seasick.
I like noodles a lot. I travel for work and in the burbs these are everywhere. I was so thrilled to see one in lakeview. If you call ahead with your order you can by pass the regular line for the pick-up line.
It's not a gourmet mom and pop joint. It's essentially really delicious gourmet styled fast food. There is a lot to choose from- noodles of all styles. Something for everyone and perfect when you are looking for something easy. Or on lunch every day. :)
The Wisconsin Mac & Cheese at this place is my crack. Â Pasta smothered in gooey, melted cheese? Â OMGYESPLEASE! Â For a chain restaurant, this place gets 5 stars in my book. Â Â
I still remember the first time I went to Noodles & Co. Â I was reluctant to go because the thought of paying for someone to make pasta for me has always seemed a little screwy. Â But my younger sister had a craving and I try to indulge her as often as I can to make up for picking on her when we were kids. Â She ordered the mac & cheese for me, telling me that I wouldn't regret it. Â
And boy was she right! Â This was five years ago, and since then, I've probably eaten at Noodles & Co at least 87 times. Â I've tried a few other dishes and they were pretty good, but my passion definitely lies with that cracktastic mac & cheese.
A good place to go before a film at the Landmark. Â It's quick and they have a large selection of Noodle dishes. Â
I don't recommend any of the Thai dishes because there are so many good Thai joints in the city. Â
I usually go for the Strogonoff.
Good portions. Â They'll fill you up, but not make you explode. Â Plenty of room left for a small buttered popcorn. Â
My GF always goes for the Macaroni & Cheese with a ton of Thai Chili. Â She swears by it.
So I made my first trip to Noodles & Company today. When I walked in the first thing that I liked about the restaurant itself was the spaciousness and openess.
The menu was interesting. There were different types of noodles and soups that all looked yummy. The confusing part menu is they offer this trio. Now when I first looked at the menu I thought it had said you could pick a noodle dish, a soup and a salad....making that a trio right? Wrong. It's actually a noodle dish OR a soup and then your choice of salad. The trio part comes in because you can choose to add chicken, shrimp or beef to your noodle or soup dish. Oookay. Not necessarily a trio but hey...it's their restaurant so...
I ordered the pan asian noodles with beef. It was actually tastier than I thought it was going to be. The beef was tender and the noodles and the sauce were very flavorful.
The downsides were that you don't get much in the way of quanitity here and they could also you an extra staff member or two to help bus the tables. The restaurant has alot of seating but we had a hard time finding a spot to sit because most of the tables that weren't taken up by patrons were taken up by dirty tableware.
All and all I'm not sure I would venture back to Noodles & Company especially with some many other options in the neighborhood to choose from but hey at least I can say I checked it out.
YUM!
I am IN LOVE with the chicken mac n' cheese over at Rock Bottom (I even attempted to replicate it one night), so I was excited to try it at this place. Â I was definitely pleased. Â The amount of cheese was pretty good, maybe could have used a little more. Â There was plenty of chicken, cooked to perfection. Â The portions were pretty healthy, also, which is great, cause I love leaving a restaurant stuffed to the max.
With all the other options, I'm sure I'll be going back often!
MMMMmmmmm... butter....buttery.... buttered noodles!
It's not complex, Sometimes simple comfort IS best! With a newly-vegetarian boyfriend, it's good to have fast, affordable options that are a step above deep-fried drive-thru and/or greasy bar food- that pleases us both!
I take off a star because of the obnoxiousness of the website... I really hate it. Especially when hungry, looking to place an order while at work (where paper menus grow legs and walk away) Sometimes, all a hungry girl wants is to see ALL the menu options!
I went to Noodles and Company for the first time last week, and I wasn't disappointed.
They did have lots of options at a reasonable price. Pricing is key with a place like this as many of these dishes can easily be made at home. It's all about convenience.
On the menu was whole wheat pasta and lots of tofu which was a nice surprise. Many places do not do the organic/whole wheat/vegetarian etc. thing very well. I was hoping for some more veggies in my pasta, but at least I didn't have to cook it myself.
I will probably be back when I need something quick to eat after work or yoga, but if I really want pasta, I'll either cook it myself or head to Rose Angelis.
It seems like Noodles and co are following me all over the place.
Madison - Evanston and Lakeview
Finally, they decided to open one in Chicago city!
I tried Japaneses Odon dish today with beef.
It was okay but it tasted exactly like Pad See Ew! I think they used the same sauce.
So I was a little disappointed.
Regular dish was big enough to fill my hunger.
Four stars for location/ nice place to sit and have quick lunch!
WOW- Amazing!
First time @ Noodles & Company and I was very impressed.
For $7 I got a nice helping of noodles, chicken breast, and Caesar salad. The food was fresh and the service was fast. I hate places that give out kiddie cups if you request a water, and here they give you a huge glass. That's a bonus. Inexpensive deliciousness here!!
As a former East Lakeviewer (Broadway & Oakdale), it was sad to see O Lounge go. Â Take heart though, in it's place, they've put a fun little establishment.
It's a noodle shop, it's a chain. Â Let's say it's the Chipotle of Noodles. Â Not just Asian, but Mediterranean, and American style.
Blah blah blah, All you need to know is that the Mac and Cheese is so good, that when I let the wife try it, I thought for a second that I'd have to defend it with my knife. Â Truly, besides some baked Mac and Cheese offerings, this is the best restaurant Mac and Cheese I can think of. Â Better than Stella's
Noodles & Company should really get 3 1/2 stars. It is the pasta lover's fast food restraurant of choice. They offer three styles of pasta; American, Asian, and Italian. There are about three different variations for each type of pasta. You can add meat or tofu (which is delicious). They also offer soups and salads.
The restaurant is clean. They have fast service and fast take out. If you can not think of what to eat and pasta will please everyone, go to Noodles & Company.
I'm playing between 3 and 4 stars. I've been to the one in Evanston and looking forward to this Lakeview one, and can I say their Japanese Pan noodles are the yummiest?
I like the location - it's bright and airy and they had the front windows opened so it was practically outside. One of those nice places I can go to eat when I'm itching to eat out and alone.
However, what bugged me was the size of the dish - maybe the Evanston one spoiled me, because when you get a small dish there, the noodles fill the whole plate and they're extravagant with the veggies that come with it. Here, I swear it only took up half the plate, not the whole plate the way it does in Evanston. And I had 2 tiny pieces of broccoli and I saw 3 slivers of mushrooms. But it tasted really good, I was just expecting more. Maybe I shouldn't be comparing locations, but I was disappointed by this. But I'll be back!
Oh, and they are extravagant with their water glasses - they're huge! (most places give you a dixie cup for your water). So they lost a star for not filling up the plate, and they gained it back for giving me the big glass for my water!
***EDIT***
Okay, you lose one star for the snotty server. When I got my dish and asked if it had the extras I ordered, she just rolled her eyes at me and giggled. Huh? I justed asked a question that you should be able to answer without acting like you're my 13-year-old archnemsis. Grrr...
