The seating by the bar is a little loud, one may want to sit further away for little quieter dining. All three in my party had hamburgers; Tex Mex, Memphis Burger and  bacon cheddar. Very "rare" that we all have burgers, we also had soft pretzels sticks and buffalo shrimp app. The shrimp was a special but was too spicy and had a thick battery crust. They tasted like big chunks of spicy batter.  Burgers were good and none disappointed with their themes.  Their pretzels are the best, new fad I know, but I have been trying all the pretzel app and entrée dishes that have pretzels, as sticks or used for a bun, and the Office Bar and Grill has the best in my opinion.

Great Chicken nachos.  This is my first time here.  I sat at the bar by myself on Saturday afternoon.  Bartender was nice, professional and helpful.

    Nighttime review!
This was a random Thursday night, after-hours business get-together. The food was good, the service was great, and the pretezels with BACON CHEESE are A-OK. It's definitely worth a stop!

This is a Day Time Review.  Usually lunches from 12-2.pm

Just had lunch from The Office, Ahi Tuna Sandwhich.  It was a decent sandwhich came with fries.  Today they had a deal $3 yeungling pints, on a Friday.  I used to come here for lunch once or twice a week because they had different all-day deals with different drinks.  Not sure if that is the case anymore.

The staff is nice, i was the only person at the bar but I didn't end up having any type of conversation with the bartender, some people wouldn;t like that, I didn't really care.

The private parking lot is VERY small, so plan on street parking and bring quarters.  I have never had a problem finding parking on the steert within a minute of the front door.  a quarter gets you a half hour.

I have taken my girlfriend here a few times when she comes to cranford to visit me for work.  I now know of other places that serve alcohol and have a good menu, but this was always a safe bet.

Great place to go...if you don't mind the server helping herself to a $75 tip on a $15 check.  And then being made to look like a fool at by a clueless manager (who doesn't even understand his own register printouts), when you return to complain.  If you do still go, make sure you keep your credit card receipt until the charge has posted.  I learned this the hard way.

The Office in Cranford is much different from The Office in Summit, which is more of a dinner restaurant.  This Office is more about young Cranford kids getting wasted.

I have been to The Office in Cranford a few times with each time having to stand because it was so crowded on a Friday or Saturday night. Around 9-10pm, the place really gets busy because I guess it must be the first location of many for people either going to NYC or just around Cranford. The draft selection is typical and the prices reflect that.

I'm never too impressed with this place, but if I'm trying to stay local with my friends, it is normally on our list of places to go.

You do not go to this place for the food (maybe just apps and that's stretching it). You go just for a drink or 2. They have decent HH prices and their beers for the most part are cold (although one summer day everything was warm...especially the draft beers...yuck). The bartenders are ok. It's hit or miss. For the most part they are cool but you do run into situations where they go MIA for a while.  It's a local yokel crowd and generally a lot younger.

I have been to this location a handful of times with my husband on the week-end. We have taken advantage of their lunch/early dinner time drink specials from sangria to pina coladas.  Yum! The only negative thing that I have to say about this place is that the service can be slow sometimes. I believe that they are under-staffed on the week-end. : Other than that, it's a nice place if you want to get a quick bite to eat and enjoy some cheap drinks.

The only reason to go here is to check in and see how anyone who has ever graduated from Cranford High School is doing. If that's your objective, this is your place.

They have great drink specials all week long.  Monday is happy hour all day...$2 domestic drafts?  Yes please.  The food is only alright, but the staff is friendly and I enjoy the beer selection.

This is one of my favorite bars in the area.  There's always a good crowd and it's very laid back and fun.  The beers are reasonably priced and the food is actually pretty good - I really like their pizzas.  A good place to come for a few drinks.

I feel like I'm supposed to hate this place but I really like their onion soup and chicken parmesan salad. So good. I'm coming back for it.

    No shame!

I've had lunch here a few times and it's hard to form a strong opinion one way or the other.  On the one hand, the food has never really been bad, but it's also never been outstanding.  It just seems like everything is sort of "meh," and you forget about it as soon as you take your last bite.
That being said, the beer selection is decent and the staff is very friendly.  It would be a good place to watch a game and grab a beer.  Just don't have high expectations for the food.

Cranford Pub Crawl anyone? Man how did I come up with such a brilliant idea on a Sunday evening.

In my opinion there is never a wrong time to drink. So this review is based on a great drinking atmosphere. No food was harmed, inhaled or swallowed in the reviewing of the night of pub crawling. Sorry had to save room for the beer.

Oh man I love this place. Great locals and I always have such a blast making fun of the girls who overdress for this place in their clubbing outfits. As the guy sitting next to me said, you look hot in a sweatshirt, that girl on the other hand someone should have told her it's a privilege to wear spandex, and the muffin top was never in style.

They have remedied that awful smell, but the place is mediocre overall.  It used to be a good option in town for a simple meal, but ever since the chain was sold it's not the same.  I go every now and then when friends want drinks and food at the bar, but last night I was again reminded why I avoid it otherwise.

Alright, after reading a couple of horrible reviews I had to give The Office some cred.

The Office is one of the best places to go if your looking for drink specials, a good crowd, friendly bartenders, and convenience. Your looking at dive bars, a chain restaurant, or two or three other good bars in the area as other options.

The food is good enough, the layout and seating could be better, and it could smell better sure, but the bottom line is that it's a great place to go for a few drinks with your friends and meet a few new people in the area. Exactly what a local bar should be.

Any night between Wednesday and Saturday is a good bet to find a decent crowd.

My first impression after walking into The Office was what an odd little place.  It advertises itself as a "beer bar" and you walk in and you have two choices....

    (a) a decent sized bar although the overall space is pretty small (the "left" door)

    (b) a Denny's knock off seating area complete with the senior citizen accompaniment and the tacky decor.  (the "right" door)

I chose the left door although from previous Yelp reviews it sounds like I'm not missing much on the right.

After settling at the bar I ask for the beer list and was SHOCKED at some of the beers.  They were excellent.  So I asked for beer #1 and was told  "Out of stock".  So I asked for beer #2 "Not cold".  So I say, "What about a Hoegaarden?" (pronounced hoo-gar-duhn) and was CORRECTED by the bartender who said "You mean a HOE-gar-duhn?"

No, I know what I meant.  Trust me.

I'm sorry, you don't get to call yourself a "beer bar" when you can't pronounce the beers on your menu.

    I got up and left.

    Yes, I know I'm a beer snob.

Four stars for having a pretty good beer selection, minus one for not having any of them in stock, minus one for condescending bartenders that don't know how to pronounce the products they are selling.

I go here once a month after holding my monthly real estate networking events.  Pros:  You'll always find a crowd, even on a week night.  Food is ok.  People are friendly.  Convenient locations.

Cons:  They are very corporate.  If you ask for a red bull and vodka you will get 1 ounce of vodka, period.

    The office.

A good place to eat lunch after a round of golf. Bar-food. They have a good sampler appetizer. i recently tried to watch a game in this bar. I was excited to see when walking in that they had the NFL ticket, as well as a diverse group of sports fans (not just giants fans).

The girl behind the bar is apparently a huge titans fan, and i know this because of the profanities that rained from her mouth throughout the game, (with children and elderly women in earshot)
    other negatives-
the place smells like a frat house, also no Steve Carell.

this place has a lot of history with me and my buddies, that might be one of the reasons we always end up there

Decent beer selection, and not too bad for lunch.  Not great, but not bad, either.  Don't expect much food-wise.  One step up from bar fare.

it smells like throwup when you walk in. Or like a dank mold scent. Either way it is horrible. Some nights are worse then others. It has been so bad that I have walked in and turned right around and walked out.

if you are just going for drinks, the bar can get pretty packed. a young type crowd, especially on thursday nights.

the food is just average, service is OK.

The office in Summit is much better

Will you like The Office?  It really depends on what you're looking for.  The Office is, indeed, a bar and grill after all...it's your basic Apple Bee's fare -- a bit better -- with a less commercial crowd and better atmosphere.  I thoroughly enjoy The Office for these reasons: a) lively crowd; b) great for catching Hokies games; c) friendly staff; and d) great beer selection.  This place reminds me of some great places back home in Virginia Beach that can get rowdy on a Friday night.
