used to come here to meet with my mentor, until my car started to overheat.
i will come back here to meet with my mentor, when my car is fixed.
good food.
good people who work there. they recognize me every week.
the grilled cheese with lettuce and tomato is off the HOOK.
so is the cheddar broccoli soup.
as long as you buy something, you are able to sit there all day if you want to.
It's Panera.
It's a chain.
The food is the same at all locations.
The Bacon Egg and Cheese Breakfast Sandwich with Extra Bacon on Cinnamon Crunch Bagel is still life changing.
Variables:
The staff: I really liked the staff on my morning visit. The cashier was super nice, efficient, and reminded me to use My Panera Card. Â (win)
The expediter who handed me my food was pleasant, thanked me as I left, and made me smile. (win)
My food was ready super fast. (win)
The coffee was freshly brewed and tasted as such. (win)
There was a freshness sticker grilled to the bottom of my bagel sandwich. (fail)
4 wins out of 5 isn't so bad in my book. :)
I love Panera. Â This location is so close to our house, so easy to get to on the way home for work, and a nice choice for quick dinner.
If, they ever got our order right.
It never happens. Â Not since our first visit (2-3 years ago) has an order ever been 100% correct. Â Sometimes it is just a little thing (no extra bacon). Â Other times they completely screw up whole orders (chicken noodle instead of broccoli cheese soup, chicken instead of turkey, roll instead of bagel).
It is ridiculous. Â We still visit this Panera because it is so convenient but now we check our order piece by piece before leaving the store to ensure it is correct (and it never is).
If I weren't lazy I would drive to another Panera because the incompetence of the employees at this store just isn't worth the aggravation.
This is the worst Panera I've been to. Â It's fine if you order something that can't be screwed up, but here's what happened to me:
They have all sorts of pictures up of their new steak dishes. Â I ordered the new steak breakfast sandwich and the power sandwich to go. Â I was waiting by the pickup counter for a while and they eventually tell me they're out of steak. Â Ok, this is in the morning so I don't know how they could have run out already. Â If they were out since the day before, why wouldn't they have known in the first place so they could have told me and I would have ordered something else? Â That's two strikes.
I ended up getting a refund, and took the other sandwich home with me. Â It's supposed to be crisp and grilled, but it was totally soggy and nasty. Â I live very close to this place, so there is no reason it should have been soggy. Â Other than maybe I had to wait so long to get it because they were confused about the steak and I had to get a refund. Â If I want to go to Panera, I'd pick the one by Best Buy or Wheaton instead. Â They can't keep track of what food they have, or cook what they do have here.
I go to this Panera often as I like their menu and the food is pretty good. I always order the tomato mozerella sandwich (I'm a veggie) or the medditeranean veggie. Both are good.
My biggest complaint is that there have been several times when they have either been out of the tomato mozzerella or they were out of the bread or something. If it happens once, I can forgive it. But it has happened on several occassions. This is why I'm only giving them 3 stars - there's no excuse for a restaurant to run out of food.
To be fair, however, the restaurant is very clean. The staff is friendly and the service is prompt. They also have free WiFi. :-)
I like to go to Panera with friends just to hang out and chat. Â My very favorite thing here is the tomato and mozzerella salad. Â They changed it up and put more greens in it which is probably a really good thing, my cholesterol thanks them. Â My daughter loves the broccoli and cheddar soup. Â This is a nice middle of the road place to go when you don't want to spend a ton of money.
Review Source:I LOVE PANERA! Â On the contrary, this one sucks. Â The food is fine, but the customer service is just not as good as others I have been to. Â The one in Bloomingdale is much much better, and for some reason about $0.50 cheaper on their bagel packs after taxes.....they are both in DuPage, so that's odd. Â Anyhow, I go to Panera quite often so that I can get a bagel pack to bring in to work for my drivers. Â I always ask them if they can cut them in the slicer, and then use a knife to cut them in half the other way as well, so we can have four parts to the bagel and they will go farther. Â Not one Panera has ever had a problem with this, and the lady at this one had no problem saying she would either. Â She says it will take a few minutes longer though. Â I said no problem! Â so, about 5 other people get their order ahead of me, and then I finally get mine. Â The lady puts in TWO knives and like 3 napkins....for an entire bagel pack with two tubs of cream cheese. Â And she did nto cut them in half as I requested......The Panera in bloomingdale gives PLENTY of napkins and knives with theirs, and always serves with a smile. Â I give this locations a thumbs DOWN.
Review Source:This joint is a place my work BFF Rose and I Â love to take a break from work and get a scrumptious lunchy!
Its a very clean, speedy, and friendly place. We usually get soup and a sandwich and end our lunch by sharing a chocolate Chipper cookie  yumm. I really appreciate that they label there soups vegetarian with a v on the menu and they also throw a LF for Low fat I find this very helpful when making my soup decision. On a side note Vegetarians beware when you ask if a soup in vegetarian b/c a lot of uneducated servers think if there arent any chunks of meat in the soup then well of course it vegetarian. So I recommend to then follow up by asking what kind of broth is used then you will get a real answer.
As far as sandwiches I really like the veggie but I like to get it without the hummus and sub chipotle mayo instead. The mayo isnt really mayoy its spicy and really addictive. The bbq chopped salad good too its a less expensive version of the CPK bbq chopped salad. Also in tomato season I recommend asking for the tomato mozzarella salad, its not on the menu but they will make it for you its super duper yummy!
