I have been here a few times before when visiting the area and decided to take the family there for their Thanksgiving dinner. Â I reserved a table several days beforehand but when we arrived, we were told they had no record of our reservation. Â The hostess told us she would seat us but we only had 2 hours to eat. Â How rude is that? Â We ordered the Thanksgiving special ($19.95) and were served a plate of lukewarm turkey gristle. The service was very slow as well. Â Evidently unless you are a regular, the owner Paulo, ignores you when he makes his rounds through the dining room. Â The only redeeming feature was the singer singing 1940s era songs which some of my party enjoyed. Â However it did not make up for the poor service and lousy food...we will not be returning... There are far better and less expensive Italian restaurants in the area.
Review Source:This place had a lot of promise b ased of the interior decoration alone, which was wildly charming.
Maybe we picked a bad night to go. There was a party of about 20 of the loudest, most obnxious men and cougary women (I'm talking about 70 year old women wearing heels that equated to about 1 inch for every twelve years they've lived on the planet) and that, while annoying, perhaps was the cause for the biggest disappointment,
the food.
I wish restaurant's quality of food would not go down on the nights that large parties are hosted there.
HOWEVER, I will say this.
If you go on a Sunday with someone 60 years + (my grandpa turned 80 and we were celebrating), EVERYONE at the table is entitled to their "Senior Moment Sunday" menu which includes
House Salad
Garlic Bread
Generic Italian Entrees (Lasagna, Eggplant Parm, Ravioli, Pasta)
Dessert
Cup of Coffee/Hot Tea
AND, entertainment. They had an excellent singer doing hits from Sinatra, Nat King Cole etc...
All for 12.95$
If the food would have been at all decent, this place would've been a hands-down 5. Which is why I bother to mention it at all. Everyone, go grab your seniors this Sunday and check it out. Maybe there won't be a giant party there and the food will be delicious, who knows. Maybe they tone down the "senior food" haha, they're not done living people, give em some spice!! I will say, Â my dish, Sausage and Peppers of Linguine was good, albeit greasy, but good. My mom got the eggplant parm and my grandpa the lasagna and both were very disappointed. I don't think they even ate 1/4 of the dish. The cake also was rather "blah." BUt that could be because the waitress described it to me as "better than sex." Now, I'm not at that age where I start enjoying food more than sex and cringe when I hear my parent's friend describe certain foods as "orgasm inducing," but a chocolate cake that's "better than sex" is definitely intriguing. Now I'm just left wondering what kind of sex this waitress of ours was having, because that cake was deplorable!
Charming is the best word to describe this place. Â We were driving by actually heading to a different italian restaurant and saw this place, so decided to go here instead. Â The service is incredibly friendly, more so than I have ever seen in South Florida. Â The owner came up to us a few times to make sure everything was ok. As far as the food, the garlic bread is delicious and fresh, and veal prosciutto was also quite good. Â The crowd is def. much older, but we still really enjoyed it.
Review Source:Have eaten there many times so I'll just give you the highlights as I've never had a bad meal.
Nothing special from the outside but inside its right out of Goodfellas. Nice little cozy place with live music 5 nights a week during season and weekends off season. Old decor but real charming and homey.
Paolo the owner and his wife are great hosts and the staff never leaves you hanging.
Complimentary Garlic bread is always great and House Salad with special Creamy Gargonzola dressing is the way to go as it accompanies all entrees.
Things not to miss
ANYTHING FRANCAISE especially  the de-shelled Jumbo Shrimp or if he has fresh lobster tails huge $42.00 two big tails deshelled battered drenched in delicious francaise sauce.
Home made garlic potatoes & Vegetables accompany all entries.
All pastas are excellent but Chicken, Veal and the aforementioned are the ticket. Stay away from the Chops and steaks not why you go here.
Appetizers Stuffed crabmeat mushrooms get some Fra Diablo sauce on the side for dipping.
Paolo is always there with a complimentary after dinner drink.
Outside seating on the patio for you smokers with a tv link to the live music inside.
Wine list is lacking and a pit pricey for this place one dowfall
