This is a pretty decent Popeye's. Â I remember stopping by here often when I lived a few blocks away. Â It was nice to recognize one of the guys working there. Â I can tell that he creates a positive, fun working environment.
There were fewer sketchy people hanging out inside and outside of the Popeye's, but that was never a huge issue with me. Â They add more character to the area. Â Some of the yuppies and ex-frat boys on Rush would give me a headache.
I didn't deduct additional stars for this, but I'm disappointed that the great deals/coupons I found online were not considered specials at this location. Â The options were actually pretty lame. Â Popeyes also made serious changes to its biscuits, and now they're mass-produced circles of hard nothingness. Â I heard that the southern locations still have large, fluffy, flavorful biscuits. Â The sides were always the staples of this brand, in my opinion.
