This place is the worst. My complaints are about this particular popeyes and not the chain in general.
I don't cook, so I eat out a lot. I like popeye's shrimp and usually get that. But this time I went because I wanted the wicked chicken(i like it!). My boyfriend and i went to this one on a Tuesday afternoon. There was a line of 4 people that somehow took 10 minutes to get through. The manager was busy on the phone with his friends and barking at the next person in line to give him the order they were going to put through. The female cashier was rude and screwed up my order(i wanted the mashed potatos, dammit!). Everyone(except the person who i assume to be the cook, who handed us our order) was rude. The chicken was ok, I'm going to try another popeyes before i decide. I can't believe anyone would come here more than once. Granted there aren't a lot of other fried chicken options around here, but i would rather drive a little extra to satisfy my chicken fix. C

I can't help but wonder if the owner or manager here even care about this location.  The people that work here are horribly RUDE and incompetent. 9 times out of 10, they will get your order wrong, and then they will get mad at YOU, saying that was what you ordered.  The food is good, when they don't over fry it.

Come on guys.  Get it together.

that Popeyes recipe will be good no matter where you go, but gotdamn this specific location has the hands-down slowest service of them all.

    6321 N Lincoln Ave
    Chicago, IL 60659
(near the intersection of devon & lincoln)

other than the Popeye's recipe and great sides, the only other consistent thing here is the employee* laziness, F'n attitude, and lack of service.

    *including the manager!

I've been here a handful of times in the several years I've lived here; each time, hoping it's improved. I've been consistently let down. The employees seemingly have no clue as to what is going on. They yell and bicker, and talk about personal things, get orders wrong, and are just plain rude. There is always a long wait... even if you're the only customer. It's almost as if the employees are surprised that people show up expecting to get food.

My issues aren't with the food so much as the service. They leave a great deal to be desired. You know it's bad when even fried food goodness can't save a place.

I'm pretty sure the owner of this particular franchise doesn't care what's going on....the employees are just way too obnoxious & inefficient.

The food is fine, but the team isn't.

I wonder if the owner of this popeye's knows they he has a bunch of incompetant, rude, lazy, slow, a-holes working for him.  Consider yourself lucky if you order something and they actually get it right, and in a timely fashion.

Better than kfc.  Kfc serves you chicken bricks.  Gotta get the buiscuits and cajun fries.

I used to go here so much, if I walked in theyd already know to get me a 2 piece spicy breast and wing with mashed potatoes on the spot. NEVER have I ever had a ruined order here ever. Service is quick, efficient, and funny lol/ I usually make chit chat with whoevers working while waiting for the food. Food is always hot and fresh, NEVER had an issue with their chicken (perhaps being too tasty?)

Heres to the unsung heroes at my local Popeyes. =)

This Popeye's Chicken is not that great at all. I really had better chicken from other places and other Popeye's. The chicken is dry and old. Just bad overall.

    Excuse me, MIss Thang?

Where do you get off thinking you can yell at my mother?  For asking for a mere cup?

    No, no honey.  Please.

I believe you called her 'disrespectful' for 'barging' in front of customers.  Ummmmmmm.  What?

My mother is 5'1''.  Who the eff is she gonna 'barge' in front of?  And, besides, it takes approximately 2 seconds to hand someone a cup.  LESS than the time it took for this b*tch to rant about my mom.    Hand over the cup and shut the eff up.

Nice customer service, ya'll.  Yelling at a customer in front of other customers?  For absolutely NO good reason?  Classy.

So, please, step down from your little power trip and face reality.  Last time I checked - this was a ghetto ass Popeye's.  Zagat rated?  I think not.  Get over yourselves  Thanks.

Disclaimer: *ahem* Because this review can be misconstrued as 'having a racist tone', please note that I am in no way racist.  I embrace all.  In fact, those who actually KNOW me can vouch for me. So, if you wanna call me out, don't call me out through a private message. Thanks.

I have lived near Popeye's for many years and for some reason have never been eager to try it... well until last night.  Based on the reviews I may have had higher expectations than I should have for a fast food fried chicken place.

The chicken was good, but nothing great.  The wings were gone when I arrived so I had a spicy 10 piece meal with 1 breast, some theighs and lots of legs.  Of course the breast was the best tasting of the chicken selection.  The gravy and mashed potatoes was good as were the biscuits.  Unfortunately the corn was way overcooked.

Overall, i might go back but was not really impressed.  Oddly enough the best fried chicken I have had comes from the Jewel in Evanston- its cheaper too.

I go to this location instead of the one on lawrence, even though the one on lawrence is supposedly closer. The chicken here just tastes better (is that possible, after all, it is a chain restaurant.hmm.....) The people that work there are chill and even on those days when I dashed in at 10:50 from work (they close at 11) theyve tossed down some chicken for me and saved me from having to put together a meal.

C'mon, guys...it's Popeye's! Don't act like you don't like it. Because you KNOW you do. I've been going to this location forever. There is usually a line on weekends, with people from the city, Lincolnwood, and Skokie there for the fried chicken. And I love watching them brush melted butter over the biscuits right out of the oven. Mmmm...

The spicy fried chicken is my favorite, with mashed potatoes & cajun gravy, cajun rice, and buttery biscuits. You can always count on them when you need to bring food to a family party.  And I prefer this location to the one on Lawrence (which is closer to me), because they are consistent.  Yeah... it's a chain, but a damn good one.  Don't hate.

This Popeye's has people who work here that you feel like they actually know what they're doing.
    Fast, nice, no hulabaloo.
    Get in, get out.
And for the most part, no one screws up your order.
They are all pretty good people who work there.
So, they get 5 stars from me.

Here's a little menu jumping from me to you......
biscuit, mashed potatoes and gravy on top...or maybe try the cajun rice with the mashed potatoes and gravy.
    Sounds yucky...but mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

    Spicy chicken available!

    Speak loud and speak clear.

Be friendly and you may enjoy a better experience.

If you can get everyone in the store to smile, usually, they'll hook you up with all breasts and thighs.!
Usually biscuits are served up fresh, or just make sure to ask for fresh ones,  yum!
