Great sushi with wonderful service! A family owned business with a passion for pleasing their guests. The staff was very helpful in helping with menu choices aimed at what I liked. We had the Fire Dragon, do try it! It was delicious and beautifully presented! The Mexican roll was also delicious and spicy but spicy good, not grab the fire hose and put out the fire in my mouth type. Definitely worth the 40 minutes it took for us to get there!
Review Source:A few days ago, I was in the mood for some sushi and decided to stop by this place.
I was ready for some good sushi but wanted to try a new place. As soon as I entered the restaurant, I got a vibe of a Chinese restaurant.
I checked outside to make sure I was at the right place.
I was waited a few minutes after I got in. It seemed weird because there were not many customers but yet, it took them a while to take me to a table.
As I was sitting, I was struck by the smell of Chinese food. The thought of eating sushi completely disappeared from my mind.
I checked out the menu and the menu of their Asian cuisine was more interesting than their sushi.
I decided to order the Beef with Hot Peppers and the sushi appetizer which consisted of tuna, salmon, ebi, and a california roll. It was a good idea that I ordered the sushi as an appetizer because after tasting them, I did not want to order them as my meal. Â The salmon was dry and the tuna seemed frozen. Perhaps it wasn't frozen, but I was not getting a fresh tuna taste.
I dug into my main course of the beef and hot peppers and found it greasy but tasty. I would appreciate less use of grease but the meal was good.
As I left, I read the restaurant's name again. Raku SUSHI... Hmm...
When I'm in the mood for Chinese food, I'll make sure to come, but as for the sushi, I'm not sure.
No Natto and no Uni (never available as not enough customer demand), says enough. Nice waitress, good service, non-Japanese chef and personnel. Typical American style nigiri sushi with way too much rice and no wasabi. Did not try the monster rolls, but if you like them, they have them. American taste and popularity of sushi is killing good sushi slowly.
