    Meh
Slow service, expensive drinks, typical downtown bar. Plenty of room and tvs to watch though. Probably wont come back to try the food.

A fantastic burger, well cooked, well seasoned, and on a pretzel bun. Hand cut fries are delicious. I had the mushroom Swiss. The establishment is small and short on space, the front area is long and narrow bar, with a few tables in the back. Service was not overwhelmingly friendly, but satisfactory during a weekday lunch. At $15 or more for their specialty burgers, it is a little bit overpriced. But if you're hungry and craving protein, it hits the spot.

Finally went here after living across the street for 2.5 years, it just never appealed because it seemed like a small sports bar, a venue which i typically don't enjoy.  Finally stopped by after the Opera (pretentious I know) since it was freaking 6 hours long and I didn't feel like cooking anything.  It was as I expected with the meaty looking drunk fellows screaming loudly and cursing at the various flashing plasma TVs around the bar and wearing colorful sports jerseys etc etc.   Food was typical for bar quality except the prices were jacked up even further, probably due to the loop location.   One saving grace was the profliferative presence of old Chicago pictures, which I love to look at, however they were poorly framed and unlabeled, which diluted their enjoyment.  Pizanos next door is much better quality and about the same price, apparently they are "sister" establishments?

I have been to Rudy's once or twice for apps and drinks with people from my office, since it's right around the corner from our building. (A for convenience!)

I've had the mac n' cheese (delicious) and the milk shakes are great! Today, I had the no-carb grilled chicken sandwich, buffalo style. I think it's fantastic to offer a no-carb option (no bun, extra iceberg lettuce, and a side salad/slaw instead of fries). You also save $1.00 for choosing the carb-free option, when it costs an extra $2-3 just to sub your potatoes for a side salad. Win for me! The raspberry vinagrette is also a great choice of salad dressing. The packaging is a little over the top, but I thought it was cool. Everything is wrapped nicely and placed in a sturdy catering-like box. It was a nice change from the wrapped item in a bag, or a flimsy box that falls apart in your hand.

The chicken was awesome! I know it's a pretty basic sandwich, but I was shocked that the chicken tasted like it was actually grilled on a grill, and not on the flat top grill like at most restaurants. The portion was very generous (10 oz). In total, I spent $11.02. A little expensive, but it's okay to treat yourself every so often.

The reason I am giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because I think the prices could be a smidge lower, and because there is a $20 MINIMUM FOR CREDIT CARD TRANSACTIONS that I was NOT told about before I ordered. Thank goodness I had some cash.

The food was okay, the bartender is nice but came around just to take the order and do her job. Really small sports bar.. its good if you're bored and want to go watch a game with a beer.

First time going here, decided on takeout- when I went to pick it up Rudy's had a lovely ambiance....comfy, cozy, old school bar type place.  Very clean, welcoming. The staff was super friendly, and the flat screens above the bar made me want to have a beer (well, gluten free something alcoholic) at the bar while I waited. They deliver, but I walked t pick up my order as my office is only a block away.

Ordered the bacon cheeseburger  (came w/many choices, I opted for the side salad and soup) medium w/no bun, as I have a gluten intolerance.  The burger was ACTUALLY cooked medium!! HURRAY!!!! And delicious.  The salad was good, and I was so full I had to save my soup for the next day.  It's more expensive to get no bun, but they give you extra lettuce....which is a bonus??

TAKE OUT BONUS- super sturdy boxes are what you get, as well as a brown paper bag WITH HANDLES to carry your noms in. Much appreciated as trekking through the Loop with armloads of bags can be precarious.

CREDIT CARD NOTE: THEY ONLY ACCEPT CREDIT IF THE CHARGES ARE OVER $20 BUCKS!!! In a pinch there is a Bank of America ATM on the corner of Michigan and Monroe, one block away.

4 stars as while the burger was tasty it was a tad greasy, and because the no-bun gluten-free option was more expensive than if I were to order the bun and throw it away.

Seems to mostly be a place for some regulars to come together to drink heavily. Was not impressed by the food at all. Dark, aging, and narrow bar. And all that comes with prices that are on the high side.

The only reason I eat at Rudy's is because it's in the same building as my office and they have really good turkey chili.  The chili is great - but the last time I ordered, they told me over the phone that it would take "25 minutes" and when I asked why it would take so long, the idiot on the phone told me because "it's made fresh."  Chili?  Made fresh?? Isn't chili one of those things you have to make in advance? I never heard of made-to-order chili. An extra OUNCE of sour cream for that chili is $1.25. That's the equivalent of a $20 container of sour cream.

Once I sat at the bar with a coworker and we ordered two burgers and two cokes - almost $40! The burgers are good, but they aren't THAT good!  Plus the fries/chips taste like chicken fingers. Gross. And you can't get a fountain coke - you get a little (wasteful) glass bottle that costs $2.75.  $2.75 for 10 oz of cola. And obviously NO refills.

And a $20 minimum credit card charge?  In the Loop?

To top it off, most of the girls who work there are morons.  I walked in today and asked if I could place an order for carry out...the girl asked for my first and last name and my phone number! Really?!

I wish eating here was a better experience. And a better value. Especially since it's in my building.

This place is always great for after work drinks and have never been disappointed with the food either.  Bartenders have always been helpful and kind.  Would recommend to anyone.

Look for other options. I went on a Friday night, and apparently Rudy's raises their prices. $6.50 for a bottle of domestic? The bartender told me to come back on a different night when the prices go down. There are plenty of other places downtown that have good food, and prices stay the same no matter what day it is.

We wondered in after visiting the bean and could not have been happier.  The bartender was wonderful!  The food speaks for itself.  One of the members in my party loved it so much he wanted   to come back each day of our visit.
The place was clean and full of Christmas spirit.  It is a place I will absolutely recommend without  hestitation and return there with every visit to Chicago.  I wish we had one in Florida.

The pretzel bun is a MUST!

Rebecca the bartender at this bar made the best double chocolate milkshake martini. I never write reviews and being from the south I know a good drink when I have one. And this is the best I have ever had. Great food too. I will strongly recommend this place to my friends

Good but nothing special.  If you are looking for a low-key spot in the loop than this will do the trick.  Don't go out of your way for the food it is on the good side of serviceable.  Perfect for an inexpensive, no bullshit beer or cocktail after sightseeing or after work.  Sports and TVs also.

I had friends in from Ohio, and we randomly picked Rudy's because it was close to where they were taping "wait wait...don't tell me" for NPR.  We all were so happy we did...delicious food, and friendly service.  The best BLT I've ever had, and there homemade potato chips are awesome, and the coleslaw too.  The prices are very reasonable too.  I will definitely be back!

Stopped in on a weekday night for a quick drink on way to train and it was packed with people watching sports.
Martinis were $7 and were quite good. I let the bar tender choose as long as it was a sweet fruity martini.

The local were friendly and chatty.

I stopped in to Rudy's after a long training for work. Upon walking in it was pretty crowded even on a weekday evening. It was very dim and intimate at the bar and the general eatery. I would say that this isnt the bigest place, so if you have a big group it might be a little tight.

I ordered a turkey burger that was ok it certainly didnt blow my socks off or anything, The price was reasonable, considering that i am from Milwaukee were things tend to be a little cheaper.

Rudys was smoke free which is wonderful for me. The bar had a couple of specials going on which was great. I didnt enduldge in any spirits but

Went to watch an "important" baseball game with my husband (aren't they all?) and have a burger and a few beers.  As a former bartender, I am always careful to be polite and steadily order drinks and food if we are taking up real estate.  It was a slow night and plenty of empty seats, but we still kept the drinks going.  We dropped a little over a hundred on burgers and beer, and still the bartender, Alicia, could not wait for us to leave.  Every 2-3 minutes, she would ask us if we were ok.  Maybe a total of about 23 times, she asked if we were ok.  She ran our card at the bottom of the ninth and 45 second after handing the receipt, came and shoved it back toward us, asking if there was a problem.  It kind of dropped my jaw,  So we stood up to watch the last pitch.  As we were leaving, I noticed she was cozying up to some older gentlemen at the end of the bar, so maybe it wasn't personal, but it was still kind of upsetting.

    So, don't watch sports here.

Also, I dared risk one simple cocktail, which was inedible, and two jack and cokes, which were barely scented with liquor.

    So, only drink beer here.

The burgers were tasty though, and the front door staff were very friendly.  It has a neighborhoody feel at tourist prices.  Just get a table and order a burger.  I'd go back but Ms. Alicia is enough to keep me away.

Took my wife there on Valentine's Day. The place was filled with couples, it was dark,  and noisy. Loved it. My kind of bar :)

    It was a Tuesday. Ordered a Martini. 5$ :) :)
Didn't have a clue about what to order. I asked him to surprise me.  Got a French Martini for myself and an Appletini for Meri.  One of the best martini's we ever had :) :)

The drinks are wonderful, prices are ok-ish. And the food- okish.

Went back 4-5 times again. Every single time, returned with lighter pockets, merrier moods. :)

NOTE: DO NOT go there on Fridays. NO offers. :P
NOTE 2: Bus Route 60, red, brown and orange lines is just across the street. Very convenient, you know :P

    $5 Martinis on Tuesdays... done!!!

Stopped in on a Tuesday at the recommendation of a friend, and I wasn't disappointed.  The place was pretty full so I knew it had to be good.

Food- better than average.  Everyone ordered burgers, all were cooked perfectly. Everyone enjoyed them.

Drink- did I mention the $5 martinis?  Oh yeah, I did.  These were some phenomenal martinis too.  My cosmos were strong and way too easy to drink.  I also managed to get a sip of the chocolate milkshake martini which was out of this world amazeballs.  They limit the martinis to 2 per person which was kind of sad, but completely understandable.

Service- very good. Friendly, patient, and helpful waitress.

Atmosphere- Cozy kinda dark, sports playing on several TVs.

I have been here for lunch a couple times. Decent bar, okay food selection, friendly staff. Their pulled pork sandwich is one of the best I have had in the city, no foolin'. And they make their own potato chips. Quite good. I have it on good authority the rest of the best menu is pretty good.

If you want to go here after 5pm, all i can say is good luck, it gets pretty crowded and noisy. But lunch is aces.

I've passed this place a dozen times and finally decided to give it a shot.  Overall I'd say it was a positive experience but there are a couple things that they could improve upon:

    1) Prep time -- burgers took about 30 minutes to come out.  Too long for a lunch crowd.

    2) Soft Drinks -- served in bottles (mini-bottles) at $1.75 a piece.  You coudl easily down 3-4 of these things.  Other places are refilling with the gun for free -- thats more or less standard.  Go with the ice tea - atleast that is refilled for free.

    3) Fries - get the waffle fries, the regular fries are really greasy and really bad

    4) Cole Slaw -- really good flavor but should be chopped, nobody wants a giant piece of cabbage in their slaw.

Important to note that the burgers are really good -- cooked well and the pretzel buns are tasty.  They also have a couple of staff wearing headsets like they are in the secret service so thats pretty bad ass.  I'd go back for sure and would bump it to 4 stars if they improved the fries and served fountain soft drinks.

Finally - they apparently have a 2 martini limit on Tuesday.  Whats that all about?

Just a little better than "meh", really.

Went there after work and my partner in crime wanted to do the challenge.  This fella can eat A LOT.  We asked what all was on the challenge and they said three 8 oz patties, 3 pretzel buns, waffle fries, cheese, some chili all baked together.  What they DON'T tell you is that they spice the shit out of it.  It's not the amount of food that's there, it's that you have a half an hour to basically try and hurt yourself for a gift card, shirt, and street cred.  Come on?!

This was explained to the manager, who was really nice about it and bought my companion a beer.  Totally solid.  That's actually what gives this a 3 not 2 for me.

I got a grassfed burger, no bun, with sweet potato fries.  They were supposed to take a $1.00 off for going bunless, which I thought was awesome.  They didn't do it.  Also the addition of the sweet potato fries was $2.50  And I certainly don't feel that I got that amount of fries for that price.  But the food was good.

Drinks pretty reasonably priced and a decent selection.  I got a mixed drink that wasn't too watered down.  Not bad for the Loop, but certainly have had better.

Just popped in here for a quick lunch by myself.  It wasn't too busy, but to be fair it was around 11:30am on a federal holiday so I don't know that was a factor.  My server was Lydia and she was great and very attentive.  I didn't have to wait for a drink refill and my food came very quickly.
I'm only giving this place 3 stars for now, but would DEFINITELY go back with a group so I can review it again.

We had a tiny little bit of opportunity to explore Chicago's Loop district in downtown. After walking around we got hungry. We saw the sign outside for this place and wandered in for lunch. It was really comforting to defrost from the outside temperature.

When we got in we were greeted and seated right away. The main attraction here I'd say is the nice bar scene which we walked through to get to the dining area.

Their menu featured appetizers, soups, salads, sandwiches, burgers and more...

I decided to go with the Vienna Dog 1/4 lb dog, topped with onion, yellow mustard, sport peppers, tomato and relish with crosscut fries.

Minutes later our food arrived. My Vienna Dog was pretty tasty; I really liked the sport peppers a lot. The fries were pretty good too.

Overall, we had a great time here. Good service, good food and a casual relaxed ambiance.

Now back out to the freezer...

There are many ways our experience could have gone wrong here, but even with the problems we did have our time was still great. When we arrived on a Saturday night, our group of six were seated right away at a nice round table. Our waitress (Lydia I think) was point on and none of us ever waited for a drink. She put in her order perfectly and we received everything we were supposed to after a minimal wait. She even brought cheesecake with candles for our birthday girl!

The beer selection here is not the greatest, but they did have a few fun gems. I had La Fin du Monde, which I rarely see anywhere. They have a large selection of appetizers and sandwiches available, at reasonable prices. I had the salmon burger special, which came with fries and an absolutely amazing cup of mushroom soup for around 13$. Everything tasted great and we were all happy with our food.....

Except the hair in our mini burgers. All of us have had plenty of serving experience so we weren't mad but we simply asked for the item to be taken off the bill. Within minutes the manager was at our table. He took the item off our tab and covered a good chunk of our drinks. Aside from the hair with the burgers around it everything we had was great and I could not have been happier with the service.

Hair happens and the service here more than made up for it. Kudos!

It is my fourth time here~no kidding~The first time is a great experience. The food is good. We order burger, sandwich and tofu lettuce wrap(I am CHINESE!haha) But this time, I found the food is good but not so good as before, maybe because I have been here too many times.
What I love most is the fries, the service. not recommend salad because it doesn't worth the price and is very very so so taste. But guys and girls here are very friendly.

If I could give Rudy's negative stars, I would. It was possibly the worst dining experience I have ever had, and really it could have been so simple. My girlfriend and I stopped in here for lunch just wanting salads. Salads. So simple. How can you fuck up a salad? Leave it to Rudy's.

After we were defeaned by the loudspeaker pointing down directly over the front  doorway while we were trying to read the menu posted outside, we were greeted by a grumpy hostess. A grumpy hostess always irks me because I feel like your ONE job at the restaurant is to be a smiling face to new customers. You are getting paid to do it.

Well, she wasn't smiling and she took us to a two-top table placed awkwardly right in front of the one bathroom door in the restaurant. This table is so awkwardly pushed into the corner, away from the rest of the restaurant. We laughed at first, then realized she was serious. We asked for another table, and she kind of rolled her eyes and said that there were no other tables available. We said ok, well, we'll go eat somewhere else. We didn't particularly want to spend our lunch time smelling the restroom (you really could). No harm, no foul really. But as soon as we said that, magically she had some tables available! Lucky us.

After waiting 10 minutes for our waiter to show up for the first time, he had trouble talking to our faces for the entirety of our meal. My girlfriend and I sat next to each other on the same side of the table, and the waiter literally opted to stand directly behind us every single time he came by. There was plenty of room to come around, it was so absurd.

We both ordered salads. Careful, they'll charge extra if you want dressing. My girlfriend's salad came and it was the most pathetic plate I've ever seen. A small handful of lettuce (this was the "large" salad), three thin slices of cucumber, and three thin slices of bell pepper. It was missing ingredients listed on the menu, no tomato, no croutons, no black olives. All for only $9.00. It was just an awful awful salad. We even went and got a menu to double check before we complained. We let the waiter know and he was clearly very frustrated by our complaint - he leaned all the way on our table, resting on his elbows and holding his head in his hands. He then tried to explain something about how the salads didn't come from this restaurant, they are made next door??? Not sure about that one.

We also let him know that we wanted the bread that came with our salads. He said it didn't come with bread. So we grabbed the menu (again) and showed him where it said salad is served with bread. Frustrated again, he brought bread (only one - he said we could share). He never did offer to bring any of the ingredients that should have been on the original salad. He never offered to have it remade. Nothing. Just let us eat the bowl of plain iceberg lettuce. Mmmmm!

Once the waiter brought the bill, I noticed that we were overcharged for the salad. I thought, no, I must be crazy, so for the third time we got a menu to double-check. Sure enough, they overcharged us for the fucked up salad.

And that is the Rudy's experience! Rudy's: they fuck up salads and overcharge you for it.

Please, just eat somewhere else. This place has boring food, bad service, no passion, and high prices. Horrible experience.

I'm updating my review after having dined here several times, both after work and at lunch.  It still holds up, I'm definitely a fan of Rudy's.  The burgers are just as juicy and delicious as always (if a little smaller than usual, which is fine because I can get closer to finishing one!)  Still love the fries and my friends love the sweet potato fries (they're not dry as sweet potato fries tend to be).

They improved their lunch service so you can be in and out in a timely fashion for a one hour lunch, which is much appreciated.

I noticed the new sign indicating a $20 credit card minimum.  This is slightly annoying as I like to use my card to get mileage plus dining miles.  Oh well, I'll make sure to plan ahead.

Great after work spot. Wednesday nights; 1/2 price appetizers till 6, $2 pbr/Schlitz/old style pounders, $1 jack, wild turkey, cuervo, curry, $2 makers, jam-o, henny, crown, bulleit & bulleit rye.

The crowd here on a Wednesday, or at least the one I was there for, was a mix of after-workers and students. As the night wore on the folks got a bit more rowdy, it was all around awesome. Plus comic book store next door.

    Honestly, I hate this place.

I can't figure out what there is to like.  Everyone is rude, they act like you don't exist unless they know you, they raise their prices everytime something is going on in millennium park  they have a large credit card minimum, their food stinks, the only people they are nice to are their friends who work at other restaurants/bars; etc

Final straw was the other day when I got a veggie burger and salad. Came to $15, but they all of a sudden have a $20 credit card minimum.  I pointed out that the legal minimum for credit cards is $10, the manager said so what.  I asked given that if I could pay with a credit card, his response was $20 minimum, shrugged his shoulders, and walked away.

Plus, the veggie burger was horrible.

I will never come back, and you shouldn't waste your time coming here either.

I had no idea this place existed.  I frequent Pizano's (yummy pizza next door) and saw the sign one day so I looked this place up online and thought I'd give them a try for lunch.
I ordered a chicken breast sandwich on a pretzel bun with guacamole, bacon, and swiss cheese... yummy! Along with their homemade chips.  They were light and, well... good.
The place is literally separated bar/grille which is nice so you're actually eating in a restaurant atmosphere and if you want to sit at the bar, it's almost sectioned off.  There is an upstairs as well.  I will be back for lunch, or after work drinks.

So, if I am being honest with the Yelpers out there... I actually stopped into Rudy's tonight because my first choice was packed with those trying to eat and watch the NBA finals.  Not that I blame them but I was looking for a good meal after walking for the last 4 hours.  I came across Rudy's and with one glance at the menu on the front door I was in the door and comfortably sitting on a stool at the bar.

The bartender/waitress was super friendly.  and greeted me with a smile and a glass of water, which is exactly what I needed!

Having not had much of a lunch I opted to start w/ an app.  i ordered the "Buffalo Eggrolls".  I've seen these pop up at a few different restaurants lately and I was so glad I found them here.  They are amazing!!!  (The eggrolls: a blend of spicy chicken, cabbage, mozzarella cheese, blue cheese and then deep fried).  The best part about these little babies... they were only $5.50 for two very good sized egg rolls.  Part of me wishes I had just ordered a couple plates of these and called it a night.

But no, I decided to have an actual meal.  I chose the Turkey Burger, which was huge and so moist!  Usually Turkey Burgers are dryyyy at restaurants.. not here.  Then the kitchen adds a cranberry spread, gravy and a pretzel bun to the mix.  And its served with sweet potato fries.  And just so we're clear- the sweet potato fries were ridiculously good.  After I complimented the waitress on them the guy next to me ordered a side order just of fries.  They are that good.  No need for a burger or sandwich just get the fries.  According to our waitress they sprinkle the fries with brown sugar.  ::sigh::  seriously. so. good.

Overall excellent meal.  Next time I'm in town- I will definitely come back!

This is a relatively new restaurant owned by the same person who owns Neighbooring Pizano's on madison. Very cozy dining room (don't get me wrong, there's still enough elbow room, although you wouldn;t know it by looking at the packed front end/bar area)

Awesome decorations in the dining room. Framed pictures and posters, (classic and contemporary). all Chicago themed.

Had the BBQ burger. Great toppings on it, fresh lettuce and real cheese. I'd reccomend itas a great alternative to my personal favorite (any burger served at exchequer pub)

The double edged sword is the pretzel roll used to serve the burgers. Good because the roll WILL NOT GET SOGGY from the burger or toppings. Not so good because it has the potential to neutralize the flavor of the burger itself. My advice, ask for a side order of your favorite dipping sauce when ordering your burger on a pretzel roll.

Some of the best fries I've tasted. fresh cut, golden brown. But not limp or soggy (crispy on the outside, baked potato texture on the inside)

Wonderful service, waiter was attentive and patient. never hovered over you but did check in ofter enough.

Good value, You can eat hearty for around $25 or $35-$40 if you are drinking alchohol.

    LUNCH FAIL!

I almost feel guilty giving this place only two stars as it's still a new place but there were so many things that were so very wrong that I can't give it more than two stars.

I am always on the hunt looking for new lunch spots and I caught a blurb about this place and it sounded worth trying. My boss and another coworker joined me and I knew my generous boss would pick up the check.

We were seated in the back, near an open staircase that led to the kitchen downstairs so it was in a high traffic area that was very noisy. My seat faced the doorway to the stairs and I kept waiting for servers to crash into each other because they couldn't see each other. It looked like a recipe for disaster.

We were given menus, and not 15 seconds later, a food runner tried to give us a bowl of ranch dressing. We told him that we didn't order as we literally just sat down. It was so weird.

We then sat and waited. Finally the hostess (manager) came over and said she'd "go find our server", then came back and took our drink orders herself. She comes back with bottled sodas, always a huge pet peeve of mine because you get charged for each one.

We waited some more. We looked around and noticed that not one of the tables seated near us had any food on them. This did not bode well. The hostess came back and took our food order. We still never saw our waitress.

My boss and I decided to split a burger and an order of fried green beans, and my coworker ordered her own burger. We upgraded to sweet potato fries.

The fried green beans came out and I already knew I wouldn't like them. I was expecting them to be tempura-battered, a la Paramount Room, and they were heavily breaded with bread crumbs and tasted like they were fried in old oil. The spicy ranch dipping sauce on the side didn't help matters either.

Thirty minutes later our burgers arrived. Both burgers were ordered medium rare. We cut into them and they were raw, not rare, and certainly not medium rare. I like my meat on the rare side, but these were completely uncooked. We sent them back, again, the hostess was the one we called over as we didn't see our waitress. The hostess apologized, and told us to nosh on the fries while our burgers were remade.

Finally the waitress comes over and asked how we enjoyed our burgers. We explained that we had sent them back because they were raw. Just goes to show you how much attention she was paying to our table since she assumed we had gotten our food and had already finished. Then she said "Yeah, all the burgers today have been coming out raw." Wow, that does not exactly inspire confidence.

The replaced burgers were brought out about 15 minutes later. I could tell just by looking at them that the kitchen probably erred on the side of caution and overcooked them. Sure enough, they were well done, which is an egregious offense. I couldn't eat more than a couple bites. At that point of being so overcooked, it doesn't even taste like a burger to me anymore.

The waitress surfaced to ask how the new burgers were and we showed her how well done they were, but we explained that in the interest of time, we weren't going to send them back again. She apologized and said she would "try and get something taken off our bill."

In the end, they comped one of the burgers, which was appreciated. Still, the lunch was expensive - almost $24 for one burger, three sodas, and an order of fried green beans. Burgers here average around $11-12, and if you upgrade to sweet potato fries, add in another $2.50; so you're looking at upwards of about $15 for a burger and fries; not cheap by any means.

I don't know if I'll give this place another try. If I'm going to spend that kind of money on a burger, I don't expect to wait 30 minutes for a raw one. Burgers are supposed to be Rudy's specialty, so they need to learn how to cook them properly - that's Burger 101.

I'll keep checking on reviews of this place to see if the food and service improves before I venture here again.

Side note: they have framed pictures of both Mayors Daley, as well as various Bulls and Hawks jerseys. The one that most caught my attention was one of Stan Mikita, except the name on his jersey was spelled "Mikta" (sic). Did they get the jersey on a street corner? I assume it wasn't authentic since they couldn't spell his name right.

There's a lot of room for improvement here.  I don't think I've ever given a one-star review- I'm usually into promoting rather than bashing.  But in this case, I feel like I need to warn people about going here right now because this place is new and they haven't quite found their bearings yet.

A coworker and I went to check it out after it had been open a couple of weeks and happened to get a glowing 3 1/2 star review in the red eye that morning (11-19-10).  We went for our lunch hour.  Hour being the key word there.

Being that they are in the loop (and that it is related to Pizano's which has lots of experience being in the area) they should definitely understand that they will have business people coming in on their lunch hours and they should be prepared for that.

We both ordered a burger- mine, medium and hers, medium well.  Nothing fancy for me- just bacon and cheese.  While we were waiting we had a nice chat and then I started to get really hungry and we realized we had been waiting for over a half hour.  So we asked if we could get our checks and pay them right away so that we would be able to eat and run once the food came.  Our server apologized and she seemed a little scared- I think she's young and new to serving.

All of a sudden there is another server we've never seen before coming over and apologizing and then the manager comes over and apologizes.  This got us to start worrying because they seemed really nervous about it.  They also said they were "looking for our burgers".  Looking for them?  Where did they go?! LOL  We got a kick out of it and were laughing but kept waiting...

Finally the burgers came and we were ready to dig in so we could get back to work in time.  I cut into my burger and it was not medium, it was not even cooked!  It's been a long time since this happened to me.  I complained to the manager and she said she "could maybe take it off my bill".  I responded that she SHOULD take it off my bill.

It's obvious that the managing staff is new and inexperienced and it seems that the kitchen staff is that way as well.  I used to work in the restaurant business so I know how tough it can be but they really need to be aware of the lunch timing and also train their managerial staff a little better.

I think this place could have potential but it just needs to work out the kinks and I'm sorry that I didn't get to have lunch because of that.  Give it some time- maybe by the new year they will have it figured out a little bit better and I'll go back and give them a chance to improve their rating.  They did take the burger off my bill and gave me a coupon for a free one so I guess I will give them another chance.

What's up with the Bacon? I'm sorry, let me be specific...what's up with BACON BITS on almost every dish? Also, way to ruin a spinach salad with HOT BACON DRESSING. Yes, you read correct. I mean the menu is just disgusting.- the food combinations are truly shocking! It's just another Bennigans style, no character, huge proportions, restaurant downtown.

On another note, I witnessed the manager speak to some of the female waitstaff. I cannot believe how condescending, skeevy, and sexist he was. Its shocking that employees can be treated this way. We really need higher working standards for service workers.
