The food is simply fabulous.  Great service too.  Chef Tony is a master.  If you eat there once, lunch or dinner, you may never go to another restaurant.

Wonderful.  Small restaurant with seven tables and an expensive small menu.  Great food! Can't deny a great meal!!!

Small menu that changes weekly. Fresh catch...I had grouper which was delish! My roasted artichoke was very enjoyable. I tried most of my friends' dishes. The best dessert were Tonys Whiskey cake and the Peach Cobbler Special. Live this place!

I absolutely LOVE this restaurant. The food is to die for.  Everything is so fresh and delicious. I've never had anything from there that I didn't love. Chef Tony's whiskey cake is phenomenal. The portions are perfectly sized. If shrimp or mushroom bisque is on the menu, do not think twice to get it. Trust me. It's beyond amazing. Make sure you make a reservation though. I can't wait to go back.

I've been to Sea 3 times.  The first 2 were excellent and worthy of 5 stars - the last visit 2 nights ago was not good.  The available selections were very limited compared to my past 2 visits.  No tuna bolegnese - Chef Tony said he couldn't get any tuna.  I find that hard to believe in South Florida.  The soup of the day was shrimp bisque - a far cry from the seafood chowder I've had there.  The other 2 app choices were orange shrimp and a salad.  I had the orange shrimp - 2 small shrimp (think 30-35 count) and they were raw in the middle.  I'm fine with a little undercooked shrimp, but they need to be fresh and wild.  These did not taste good and had the texture of being farm raised.  For this I was charged $10.  My wife had the salad which was not bad but the tomatoes were mushy and flavorless and had been stored in the fridge.  For my entree I ordered the Scallops.  They were cooked perfectly but a little on the small side and the texture was off.  I've definitely had better buying my own scallops from the Fish Peddler down the street.

The other entrees ordered were the braise of the night - branzino and the snapper.  Both of these were good.  As for the service, not sure what was going on but it took about 30 minutes for us to be able to order our food.  There was only 1 server who seemed to be in the weeds quite a bit, though the restaurant was not busy.  There was one other server person there but she did not seem to be taking any tables - hard to tell what was going on.

For the prices being charged - I expect way more in quality and service - especially in light of my previous 2 visits which were spot on.  Overall I got the feeling that the restaurant may be struggling and is cutting costs.  I won't return for at least 6-8 months to see if they make it - which I hope they do.

A cute little place, only a few tables, but the food was great. Some dishes were a little too limy, overall refreshing though. No place to park so plan to walk for a little while

The best meal I've had in South Florida in years.  From the appetizers to the entrees to dessert it doesn't get much better.  Had a braised swordfish special which was succulent, and tasty to the last morsel.  Had it been socially acceptable, I would have licked the plate.  Wife had a crab crusted fish and was sad when it was gone.  We will definitely be back.

Waiter was terrific too with great recommendations.  Chef Tony stopped by to check on us and was greeted with our superlatives.

Warning!  It is small. 27 seats.  Make a reservation to avoid disappointment.

Tasting menu was fabulous. Stuffed artichoke was very authentic. Caprese salad very fresh. Tuna bolognese very light and flavorful. Something to crave. The braised grouper was superb with layers of flavor. It was perfectly prepared with a unique combination of white beans, tomato, crisp zucchini, green onion and a white wine sauce. Key lime pie was one of the best I've had. Wonderful evening!

My mom's been a fan of Chef Tony's whiskey cake for a while.  She's been wanting to try his savory creations, so we took her to Sea for Mother's Day.

Once you get over the claustrophobic atmosphere, Sea is a great dining experience.  The food was delicious, and the staff is polite and knows the menu inside-out.  It's always nice when the chef comes out to talk to the diners when he's free, which Chef Tony did multiple times during our 1.5 hour dinner.

The prices are reasonable for a fine dining restaurant.  $30 for the dolphin at the low end, all the way up to $45 for the New York strip at the high end, with most dishes in between around $35.  Note that the price includes appetizer, entree, and dessert.  However, these are fine dining portions -- you won't be taking anything home.

I want to give Sea five stars, but the size of the restaurant makes it hard to ignore everything else going on around you.  Hopefully as Sea becomes more successful, there will be a larger location in its future.

I made a reservation at this restaurant a month ago.  I called several days ago to change the time to make it 1/2 hour earlier and was told that it was fine, only to be called back later and told that it wasn't fine because the owner wants to make sure that the tables are "moved" by a certain time.  If you expect to be relaxed, don't go here. There are only 6 or so tables and they are not intended for dining, only eating quickly!  We will not be returning.  There are plenty of wonderful places in the area to go to dine without all the attitude and rush.

Have been traveling in south Florida for several weeks and have been sampling the best of the conch chowders throughout the state. Read a review that Sea had the best in Ft. Lauderdale along with some of the best food in town period.  Can't speak to the later, but I can certainly give the conch chowder 5 stars.  Great flavor, fresh taste, with lots of conch meat along with clams and garnished with scallions.  We opened the the place at 5PM so we got a chance to speak with the very friendly staff.  Tony came over to chat and make sure we liked the food.  W cannot wait to return to sample he rest of their menu!.

came early --  about 6:00 PM. The place was empty, but they were waiting for customers who had reserved tables. It's a small place.  We know it's going to be aces because we know the chef from his previous gig. There's only seating for about twenty--so I guess reservations will be required.
I'm giving five stars on the basis of the Chef's past performance.

Sunfish Grill was my favorite restaurant before chef Tony Sindaco left. As soon as I heard he opened a new restaurant, I had to check it out.

I love the concept of the fixed price menu. The price included an appetizer, main course, and dessert. For the first course I had the mushroom bisque. I do not eat soup often, but I thought it was incredible. For the main course I had the tuna bolognese. It was a mainstay on the menu from Sunfish Grill, and as usual it was delicious. For dessert I had the whiskey cake. That too, was excellent. I was pleasantly surprised that it didn't have a heavy whiskey flavor.

Went to Sea last evening. For those of you who remember his former place it is a carbon copy designwise. My mahi was uninspired, I thought I could have made it myself at home. Butternut squash soup TOO sweet! No ambiance, very, very noisy and extremely uncomfortable chairs. We will stick with his exwife's restaurant, Sunfish Grill, I guess she got the name in the divorce. Must nicer restaurant, softer and much more appealing in both taste and decor. :-) :-) :-)

We remembered Tony from Sunfish Grill so we decided to try it for my birthday dinner.  Wow.  I had the snapper.  The combination was amazing and it was perfect.  My husband had the tuna bolognese and is still talking about it.  What was it in the salad (mushroom and garlic combination) that made it so unreal?  The place is tiny and we loved having great food in such a casual atmosphere.  We hate stuffy places.  We'll be back.

This restaurant is a GEM of tiny town Lauderdale By The Sea, among of all touristic restaurant.  Although there are some nice places to eat, this place is spectacular!!

For the small town like "Lauderdale By The Sea", the menu looks a little bit pricey. But there are some "prix fix" . You can choose appetizer, entree, and dessert for about $30 to $40. It's pretty reasonable and most importantly, everything is sooo delicious! Totally worth it.

We had cod, tuna and tomato sauce pasta, steak.
Steak was not bad at all, but seafood was really great.
Plus, the pasta was al dente. Awesome...

Every single dish includes appetizer and dessert were very well prepared and sophisticated. Potion was not too big, not too small. People who works there are very helpful and friendly.

The place was very cozy. Maybe only for 20 people...
When I went there on the Saturday night, it was totally packed.
There is a bar counter, so you can start drinking while you are waiting. Still, better to make reservations before you go.

They serve very high quality food, but atmosphere is casual. You can go there after beach walk. Don't forget to prepare some quarters for the parking meter. Parking is NOT free around the beach.

I vividly recall the wonderful food experiences I had at the former Sunfish Grill which was located on East Atlantic in Pompano. I didn't think I'd ever get to have it again but to my delight, Tony Sindaco, former chef and proprietor just opened a new restaurant, "Sea," located at 235 Commercial in Lauderdale by the Sea. It's kind of a surprising place with a motif, all newly redone, basically in a modernistic white with the walls and ceiling done with various paintings of fish which constitute the main menu fare as it is basically a restaurant that is seafood oriented. There is a standard menu but also two large blackboards of nightly specials. I start off with a Bahamas Conch Chowder. It was perfectly prepared and done with a good undertone of curry; actually one of the very best Conch Chowders I have ever had. For my entrée I went with the pan sear scallops. Again, perfectly prepared and exquisitely presented with an on top of a base of unique flavored potato mash, roasted asparagus won top covered with a delicious sauce. For dessert I had the banana crème brulee which turned out to have the perfect consistency of traditional brulee but with the uniqueness of fresh banana flavor.

Bar drinks at Sea are beer or wine only but I noticed that, for a newly opened restaurant, it had a rather decent selection.

Sea is a small restaurant, like very small, but that along with the friendly and exquisite service lends itself into a cozy, comfortable atmosphere with considerable ambiance.

As far as food flavor and uniqueness of preparation, Sea is one of the best.

It's somewhat pricey, but for what you get, being an actual as well as true culinary experience, definitely worth it.
