yum, yum, yum!!

While practicing for an upcoming sporting event (flip cup tournament) I got the most obscene craving for a hot dog with relish, onions, pickles, ketchup and mustard. It was a Sunday afternoon and I yelped/called 3-4 different hot dog places before I found one that was open late. I was on a mission, folks.

About $3.50 for a hot dog and fries, $5.00 for a double dog - which literally is 2 hot dogs, one bun. (LOL) I was shocked. They are the thin, longer, firm type of dogs. Deliciously served with pickle quarters, relish, chopped onion, ketchup and mustard, and hot peppers on a poppy seed bun.

Even though I ordered two double dogs and had an intese urge to finish them, the thought of how absolutely grotesque it would be to eat 4 hot dogs in one sitting prevented me from finishing my meal. I can't get over it - two dogs in ONE bun.

I didn't eat the Gyro, but my friend devoured it in about 3.8 seconds. So I'm gonna go ahead and say that it was probably tasty.

I won't say I'll frequent Skippy's, due to my unending quest to perfect my beach body, however, if you are really craving a hot dog right now, give him a try.

Skippy's is great. The food is cheap and satisfying. The owners are extremely friendly. The menu is huge. A rueben at a hot joint? This literally knocked my socks off, but I shouldn't have had them on with sandals anyway.
Really, there is nothing truly special about the food here but when you're trying to decide what to eat you think "well, there's always Skippy's". Â Its just a solid UKV hot dog stand.
My only complaint is they put ketchup on my hot dog. This literally knocked my sandals off. For this I drop a star. No, that would be rude.

Skippy's has sustained me all summer. Â I work close by and have eaten at Skippy's at least 20 times this summer. Â Arbin (the owner) never disappoints. Â The prices are great, the food is always fresh and the owner could not be nicer.

Skippy's is a place to go to if you want a cheap hot dog and fries for lunch. At least that's the only time I go. I can get two hot dogs and cheese fries for under $5 and that's good in my book. Plus the man behind the counter is always so sweet. My friend and I call him "Skippy" Not to his face of course...

I've been going here for years. I guess I am a regular. I don't see any change in the food with the new management, but I think its pretty good (and so have friends that I brought there). Its a mom and pop hamburger place. The fries are great. Everything I've tried there has been pretty good. Its not upscale dining, but its a great little place. There is a few of them around there, and this is the best one. The management (old and new) has always been very nice.

Hurray!

It is now cleaner, more inviting and a friendly person is behind the counter!
I got a hot dog with everything and fries. Ok and fried mushrooms.
Everything was nice and hot. Fries are awsome with a crunchy coating on the outside. Mmmmm....
Hot dog was good, yummy bun too, with pickles, onions, ketchup and mustard.
I liked that the woman behind the counter was actually nice.
They have a sign that says smoothies $1. Well it's more like a slushy with ice and orange-flavored flavor.
Ugh. It was worth $1 i guess.
Food quality looks like it improved. The fries are great. Totally coming back when I can't stand salad anymore.
