Skippy's Red Hots

yum, yum, yum!!

While practicing for an upcoming sporting event (flip cup tournament) I got the most obscene craving for a hot dog with relish, onions, pickles, ketchup and mustard. It was a Sunday afternoon and I yelped/called 3-4 different hot dog places before I found one that was open late. I was on a mission, folks.

About $3.50 for a hot dog and fries, $5.00 for a double dog - which literally is 2 hot dogs, one bun. (LOL) I was shocked. They are the thin, longer, firm type of dogs. Deliciously served with pickle quarters, relish, chopped onion, ketchup and mustard, and hot peppers on a poppy seed bun.

Even though I ordered two double dogs and had an intese urge to finish them, the thought of how absolutely grotesque it would be to eat 4 hot dogs in one sitting prevented me from finishing my meal. I can't get over it - two dogs in ONE bun.

I didn't eat the Gyro, but my friend devoured it in about 3.8 seconds. So I'm gonna go ahead and say that it was probably tasty.

I won't say I'll frequent Skippy's, due to my unending quest to perfect my beach body, however, if you are really craving a hot dog right now, give him a try.

Skippy's is great. The food is cheap and satisfying. The owners are extremely friendly. The menu is huge. A rueben at a hot joint? This literally knocked my socks off, but I shouldn't have had them on with sandals anyway.
Really, there is nothing truly special about the food here but when you're trying to decide what to eat you think "well, there's always Skippy's".  Its just a solid UKV hot dog stand.
My only complaint is they put ketchup on my hot dog. This literally knocked my sandals off. For this I drop a star. No, that would be rude.

Skippy's has sustained me all summer.  I work close by and have eaten at Skippy's at least 20 times this summer.  Arbin (the owner) never disappoints.  The prices are great, the food is always fresh and the owner could not be nicer.
