Ok so I have read others reviews and here is the deal if you go late on a Saturday you should expect bad service, but a great time I mean at that point it's a club not a restaurant, and as far as late night it's kind of like Chicago shore it is a pretty young crowd. Earlier or weekdays the food and service is great
Review Source:This place is a joke. Let me explain. Can you give a negative number of stars on Yelp?
I went here on a Saturday night around 9:30 pm with a friend to get food and a drinks. I asked someone who looked like either the host or a manager how to get a table and he was really nice and offered us a table right away. You would think that the rest of the staff was just as attentive and friendly - right? Wrong.
Well we sat down for a good 15 minutes and not a single server stopped by to offer us menus or say hi and there were plenty. We finally flagged a girl down and asked if we could see a server. Her response was basically, "I am so busy right now with this party over there so I am honestly going to give you the worst service ever. So if you want to order you should go to the bar. I'm just so busy." I thought she was joking....she wasn't. Not only did she give the worst response a server could possibly give to that question but she basically told us to get up and move to another section of the restaurant if we wanted any service.
Basically we left right away. Never going back there unless I'm blacked out drunk and my friends drag me there because they're my ride home.
Came here on a Monday night for a Bears game. Â While the food was good, the "DJ/MC" (and it use that term loosely) was awful.
People come on a Monday night Bears game....For the game'l!! Â Not to listen to you talk DURING the game. Not to listen to you beg people to join the squares, not to listen to comment on the game, and certainly not to here you try to conduct a trivia contest about football for which you have no clue.
Oh and would it kill you to play the Chicago Fight song when we score??! Â
With SO MANY better options not just in a 1 block radius, but in the area.....You are much better to go somewhere else for a Bears game. I know I will!
Snuggery has definitely improved since I last reviewed it. Â The quality of service is much better. Â The burger does the job, and at the price they offer it on Wednesdays, I'd be a fool to never take them up on it, given the convenience factor.
Last night we went for restaurant week. I had a short rib grilled cheese sandwich which was quite good. Â I had the second half of the sandwich for lunch today. Â That's the thing, we got so much food out of this deal that I'm not sure we're ever going to finish it. Â The portions are enormous, certainly enough to give one of the Superfans another heart attack.
I am glad that I have a decent and convenient watering hole where I can watch the game. Â Restaurant row is pretty competitive in Edison Park, but I think this place deserves its spot. Â When I last reviewed Snuggery nearly two years, I wasn't sure it was going to make it through the first year.
This bar is so great it doesn't deserve to be in edison park nor have other imitations share its name. The snuggery in Scaumburg is in some isolated non-walkable hotel area. This snuggery is street level and neighborhood strong. In an area with plenty of cool bars this is one of the beest. half of the dinining area was roped off but it still seemed huge. Chicago bear thuings and guitars lined the bar along with huge plasma televions. The place is really nice and unique looking and I can see why it is jammed often on the weekends the few times I passed this hard to find neighborhood.
Review Source:nice set up inside. decent staff, just doesnt seem like they're all that happy to be there. though one bartender, i think her name is nikki, seemed really nice and happy to be there.
crowd varies but i see more d-bags then anything else when im there. maybe just coincidence. excellent specials. i'd come back if i was in the area, though i do like the place down the street too (edison park inn)
Ohh, The Snuggery. How can I not review you?! What can I say - if you're living on the northwest side of the city or surrounding suburbs then you have most likely spent at least a few late nights there (and also ran into half of your graduating high school class too).
Basically, if you're feeling a night of dancing but don't want to trek it deeper into the city and would like a relatively affordable experience - The Snuggery is a good go-to spot. The music is good, the food is pretty good, prices are reasonable, and the staff is so-so but they seem to be handling the large crowds fairly well. It's not my favorite spot to spend a weekend night at but it's definitely a safe one where I know I'll still end up having a pretty good time.
We came here sometime in March on a Thursday night to catch the live entertainment. Have not been here since the redesign and wanted to check it out, besides we were tired and didn't want to walk any further for beer.
The first waitress/server we met was actually clueless if there was an upstairs or second-floor to this place and how to go upstairs. She may have been perplexed when seeing my friend in a wheelchair. It would not have been the first time someone reacted strangely.
10 minutes later, the manager spoke with us and could not have been more helpful and courteous. Tables were moved, chairs placed around the table and we got a great spot to watch the entertainment, not to mention a very nice, efficient and good-looking server.
The bar area was okay, with plenty of room to move around. I did not spend that much time looking at the beer menu but it seemed to have an adequate amount and choice of drinks. I did not order food but every plate that past by me smelled terrific.
I saw reviews about slow service but didn't have that problem, then again it was a Wednesday night. For what it is, this place is not that bad and nice change from the sports bars down the street.
Good place to grab some classic American dishes. The ribs and fried chicken are good, and I really like their spin on cole slaw. The salad is a bit sad. Wish the service and atmosphere were a little more engaging, but all in all this is a place to go if you like ribs. Very casual, and they do well with large groups.
Review Source:I want to like the Snuggery, I really do, but they make it so hard. First of all, parking is horrible. It is metered street parking that people get aggressive over.
I also dislike the bartenders here. They are clueless most the time.
I have had to tell them what the drink specials are. Â Then they try to agree with you about it even when you show then their own website on your phone. The female bartenders always seem to ignore female patrons or treat them poorly.
But, I do have to admit I do have fun once I get several watered down and overpriced  drinks in my system. It is a fun place I dance and gets crowded!
Went for the first time about a month ago. Â The waitress was very slow and at one point even forgot that I had ordered a drink. Â The food was not impressive either. Â I added my tip to my credit card slip and left. Â When the charge went through my bank, I found the waitress added an extra couple of dollars. Â
I went back a few weeks later to see a band. Â There is no mention anywhere that there are no waitresses on the floor after 8pm on weeknights and yet I saw a couple waitresses working when I walked in??? Â The waitress behind the bar was good though (thank goodness!)
When I spoke to the manager about my previous visit he was apologetic but offered just that - an apology - for the waitress adding extra charges to my card. Â Unless I could come back with my receipt he really could not care less.
Very unimpressed. Â Will not go back.
This is a review of the Snuggery for family dining...Not late night drinking. We come often for their Sunday Chicken Special(Although the Broasted Chicken is on the menu everyday). It comes with Spicy or Original and your choice of potato andthen soup or salad. We miss the old menu with the pretzel app. We were not crazy about the wings. They have half of apps during the Bears games. Their main room is very family friendly. They have tons of TVs and a good selection of casual food. Our kids love Nicole one of the servers who is extremy friendly with the kids. It's perfect for our family and in the warm weather, you can head to the Park after dinner!
They also have FREE valet parking or you can park in the Metra lot.
Went here for a friends birthday last Saturday. Place was ok, nice bartenders. Good raspberry mojito. Got really packed around 1030 though. Could barely move. Good music and pretty good crowd. Prices were very reasonable.
I didn't like that I asked the bartender for a round (mine), and then asked her after she served those, if she could make two other drinks separate from those. She said ok, yet when I gave her my money to pay she shorted me. Guess what? She charged me for all the drinks. After I explained again that I wanted them separate as I stated earlier, she said there was nothing she could do. SO I got stuck paying for $15 for two drinks that were'nt mine. The other people had debit. SMH.
I didn't appreciate that at all. The place was cool but I doubt I'll be going back. She offered me a round on her but guess what? The place was damn near closing and I was ready to go after that one anyway. Snuggery, you owe me $15!
Been to The Snug a few times....usually on a softball night, we'd walk on down after drinking at the other bars in the area. Â What you have here, is pretty much a bar, with a dance floor and music.....and dancing! Â Toss in some hot bartenders and waitress......some old creepy men sipping beer at the bar....mixed in with some Jersey Shore "wanna be" muscle heads, young girls dressed like sluts......and there you go.......you got "The Snug!"
Jersey Shore wanna be douche bags ruin the night for everyone else. Â "hey you looking at my girl?" Â or "I'm drunk, i have my friends...who wants to fight...i'm on liquid courage!" Â or "I've been like uh..uh..checking her out all night bro...she's mine!" Â
I've usually gone on a Thursday summer night, when the young punk college kids are back home......and that's bad enough! Â Never been here on a weekend, I assume its 10x worse!!! Â
I just think you need more guys with STAFF shirts around the bar, especially on crowded nights when it's filled with drunk douche bags so everyone else can enjoy their nights out! Â
I give it an extra star.....just because the girl workers and girls here usually are hot! Â Eye Candy is always good!
I had fun. Â I went on a Saturday night. Â Took the train from Mt. Prospect. Â We were with close friends about 15 of us. Â Music was ok, the DJ talked too much on the mic. Â Just play the music. Â Dancefloor is small and hard to dance at without getting gropped inappropriately. Â Without my friends, it would of been awful as there were tons of older gentlemen hungry for young females haha
Review Source:PROS-
**Nice little location right on the corner
**Close proximity to walk to a ton of other bars
**Pretty cheap drinks
**Not too bad music
**Good food
** Great upstairs private party areas
**Ditsy bartenders that take forever
**Tiny dance floor with either cougars or teenagers depending on the night
**awful smoking area which is like a broomcloset filled with smoke
**Coat check is actually a closet in the basement by the bathrooms. The hotstess just walks your coat down there and sticks hangs it up. Not watched at all
"Cougars are us!" Should be their motto. Granted, I have only been to this place once, but the night I was there, it was full of middle age to older women hitting on younger guys.
My guy even got grabbed as we were walking to the door to leave. Um, hello ladies, that's not cool!
They did have some good beer specials that night, and a DJ playing a fairly good mix of fun tunes. I also like the TVs all over the walls. This gives you something to look at when the cougars finish their show. :)
I live pretty close, so I'll probably stop in again sometime when it's convenient, but won't be a regular.
Sorry, but this place is just awful. Â This really seems to be a theme amongst all the A La Carte Entertainment establishments (cheesy decor, unoriginal menu/beer list, bad music). Â Just like Moretti's, next door by the way, this place is loaded with random ugly crap on the walls. Â The bar has that terrible red police light that gets turned on (along with awful siren) for some unknown reason. Â My guess is that another d-bag just slammed his Jager-bomb, or something very similar. Â The DJ is horrible, and seeing girls on the hot boxes dressed like Crobar dancers, but dancing to "Baby Got Back" just seems so wrong.
Review Source:Great food and service!! Â Good bar selection. Â The food is actually very good, I've had the Mahi Mahi a couple of time and always really good. Â My husband likes the Roasted Chicken Dinner, under $10 and he is full, doesn't happen very often!
You can even order a pizza from Moretti's at the Snuggery, they are sister restaurants! Â
Just about every booth has it's own TV for sports events.
Edison Park features the most suburban Chicago bar scene in town. The Snuggery is yet another chain restaurant and bar that rises in the shadows of Moretti's and the Curragh.
It's a little like Skores in Harwood Heights in that it's basically a sports bar that moonlights as a club for all the barely legals to drink themselves stupid. This whole act reminds me of an old guy at a concert who tries to dress young but ends up looking like a complete asshole. Speaking of old guys, the Snuggery has them in spades, which wouldn't be a bad thing if most of them weren't belligerent and desperately hitting on the young bartenders. Â
It's an OK place to watch a ballgame on a weekend afternoon. The TVs are everywhere, including personal ones in the booths that line the bar. I was there yesterday and it wasn't too busy. There were plenty of barkeeps that were all attentive. Surprisingly, this place has decent drink specials too. (My beef with Edison Park has long been that it fancies itself some sort of upscale hotspot. Lincoln Park, it ain't, so it needs to adjust some prices accordingly.)
Sports cards and album covers are on display under the glass-top bar, which is a cool touch. But whoever selected the album covers needs a clean smack in the mouth. How the hell do you put Appetite for Destruction and Master of Puppets next to garbage offerings from Nickelback and Lady Gaga? This small example of poor taste is pretty much a microcosm of what's on display at the Snuggery.
This place is alright. Â The waitress was very attentive and friendly. Â The complimentary valet parking was nice. Â The tab was picked up by my buddy, so the price was right. Â The crowd was a bit WT and the food was just alright. Â It is worth it to check out a game on their many TV's if you are in the area.
Review Source:Bring back Park Place....I've been here three or four times since the conversion and I must say I'm not impressed. Â A lot of guys my age or better trying to get lucky with girls their daughters age. Â I also found it uncomfortable to see married couples that I know putting on pda's with someone other than the one they're married to. Â Maybe I walked in on swingers night. Â Â I wish someone had told me . Â It looked like fun.
The staff is slutty looking and rude. Â The music can be deafening. The only thing I liked about the old snuggery was the trivia game and I don't think they have it here now. Â I can't really think of any reason someone would want to come here other than the reasons I listed above.
Is fist pumping your thing? Do you like to GTL? Well, if you do, then you'll want to come to the Jersey Shore of the NW side of Chicago... How many douche bags can you fit in a bar... I guess I should have looked at the max capacity to find out the answer.
They have good beer specials... The waitress was good (yet super bitchy)...
Ehhhh, whatever. Not a fan.
p.s., They have a DJ named DJ Rockstar. Really?!?!
So, my last work Christmas party was held here, and I will admit, that was the best Christmas party I've ever been involved in. Â Open bar, food, private room. Â Everyone had a good time! Â So I thought, why not come back with a few friends? Â Well, I must've been WASTED the night of the Christmas party cause this place SUCKS!!!! Â The DJ played wedding typical songs and the guy on the MIC (trying to get the party started or going, or whatever) looked like an overweight Eminem and was annoying as hell. Â Always talking through the songs and yelling some obscene stupid things! Â Bottom line, pass up on this one! Â Well, unless you are just having an afternoon beer or something, then just stop, enjoy a beer and leave!
Review Source:Ok...been here 4 times, I dig it. Â But a couple of things.....
Since I am used to clubs in Chicago, (and it is just my opinion) Go Go dancers are kinda done.......admittedly alot of the clients are a younger crowd (although I did spot a few courgars lurking) I liked that they play house music, alot is good but a couple selection....eh.  However I am a different demographic than the  young'uns...
Gets really busy on a Saturday night; so it can be hard to get a hold of a bartender. Â
There is a small section for smoking (tent like area) in between the pub and Morettis.
The place is huge, and goes into Morettis, from which I understand was the original Snuggery Pub. Â Havent eaten anything there yet (recently), but to get in the Snuggery pub there is no cover charge and the dress code is relaxed (assuming the clothing has to be serviceable and no stylish 'rips' in them.
This was our first and last visit here. Let me be clear, I am an old woman by comparison to the types that apparently frequent this bar. We were able to snag a table upon entrance, but surrounded by young kids and old men roaming around clutching miller lites scoping the 21 year old chicks. Perfect for college kids and the now legal drunks, but with age you appreciate excellent service and a considerate noise level so that one is able to engage in conversation. Our server was nice enough but the place was slammed. I know from experience it get irritating in those environments. The bar itself seemed relatively clean, but I never checked out the bathrooms for a real test. (the only two reasons this is getting 2 stars).
I saw a lot of women squeezing into things that would have been better left of the mannequins at Discovery or Wet Seal. For the guys, I heard all the hot chicks were up on the dance floor...which brings me to the ugly.
The worst of the whole scene was the DJ - straight outta 1994. Who was spinning records like "short dick man" and yelling "where my party people at?" Really? I guess kids like this shit, think it's hilarious and as if they are representing a nostalgia they never experienced. I'm sure I have a few memories that I'd rather forget from that age. I want to dance to good music before I get pregnant and end up like Amy Poehler in an SNL skit. It just wasn't happening here or that night.
I heard weeknights are better, less crowded and a more mature audience, but I'm not sure I have it in me to give it another shot.
This place is funny. Tons of old men and young broads. I never  had a reason to walk in, they've got free valet and heat lamps outside. Came here with John and his friend, Mike. My friend Phil was there (thursday nights). Strange crowd, I guess i should expect it, it's a suburban neighborhood bar, where people go to have a drink after work, and it was girls night out or something, guys making their attempt to woo girls with their tight shirts and spiked hair and bling... bore... a random dance floor the lights were pretty, televisions all around, all the waitresses were tanks and shorts. Waitress was not as attentive, dragged. Music was great. Would only go back if i really had to...
Review Source:I have been here a few times because my friends like it for some reason. I guess it can be a good time but not really the normal scene that I would choose. The drinks are usually strong and not too expensive. There is free valet parking and heat lamps outside if you want to smoke. There is also a smoking room at the back of the bar. Basically, if you are looking for a gorilla juice head and some fist pumping-GO HERE.
Review Source:So the Snuggery plopped down in Edison Park and took the buisness away from much better places like the Emerald Isle and EPI. Â It kind of doesnt belong in this neighborhood. Â It has this dueche bag Lincoln Park meat head vibe. Â The drinks are over priced, service sucks!, and I have seen fist pumping on more than one occasion. Â It does get packed on the weekends and this is the only bar in the location to find any good looking women usually. Â The ratio is usually 3 Jersey Shore losers to 1 drunk girl though. Â I suggest the Emerald Isle for a much better time and atmosphere.
Review Source:I went despite the bad reviews for nostalgia sake but now I wish I hadn't. Â What they've done to the space is pretty nice - at least 6 flatscreens within your view. Â However during an early dinner clips of nearly naked girls doing stupid stunts isn't very appetizing. Â Late at night in the bar I'm sure it's a big hit. Â
We ordered Snugaritas which were watered-down and seemed to be alcohol free. Â Didn't order any other drinks because our enthusiasm was so low.
The menu is expansive and the specials were fairly cheap so we were pretty excited. Â We kept asking the waitress what she liked and after awhile she admitted that she really hasn't had much off the menu. Â What?! Â After we got our food (fajitas and their "world famous" burrito) we knew why. Â Food was luke warm and just ok. Â Nothing to really write home about. Â Â
What a shame - they really had everything going for them and they've completely dropped the ball. Â They should replace their head chef and get a new bar manager, otherwise I would give them 6 months top.
I am not a fan of this place.
Not because I am old enough to remember the Snuggery of old. Â (now moretti's).
First off, Their bloody mary was excellent. Â I had the steak burrito and it was definately missin something. Â It was kinda bland.
The waitress was very much present and taking care of us.
Yelp::::methinks we could salvage this place with an elite event! Â Say you?
Ate dinner next store @ moretti's and decided to give this place a try.
Ok, before going forward, understand that im a 32 year old guy that loves Morettis and EPI type bars. Â
The Snuggery felt like a meat market for 21 year olds. Â Unfortunately, the ratios didnt favor the guys since 90% of people in there were guys!!!!
We had a quick beer and immediately got out of there to head back to Morettis for a much more chill and upscale place.
Hey, if your young and looking to party in Edison Park, i can see this place being fun for sure...just felt too much like a college bar for me and my tastes....
The Snuggery did a decent job with my work holiday party, but you can tell that they're new and still working out the kinks when it comes to their service staff. Â
We were offered two options for lunch - either a pot-roast-type sirloin with mushroom gravy or roasted chicken breast - both served with mashed potatoes and green beans. Â While the food was cooked well and tasted okay, I couldn't help but feel like I was at a wedding reception. Â
Their beer list was surprisingly short for a place like this. Â I'm hoping that as they're open longer, they'll get a larger selection for when I feel like ordering something a bit more adventurous than a Stella or a 312. Â
The wait staff was cute but inconsistent. Â I'm hoping as they're open longer they'll find a better rhythm and this will improve. Â
It sounds like we'll be heading back to the Snuggery on Saturday night for a friend's birthday party, so I'll be able to update my review with more information on how they handle a busy night in Edison Park. Â :)
Love the Angry Broasted on Sunday's. Â You also get all the NFL games live on Sundays with 5 btl beer buckets which are great. Â Went there also this past Sat night it was packed. Â I just wish though that their hostess' and some of the wait help would be better, needs a huge improvement there!
Review Source:Snuggery looks nice. The walls are covered with Rolling Stone covers and whatnot and there are flat screen TVs everywhere (including pretty much every booth). Fancy light system during DJ nights is surprisingly impressive. Music was a good dance mix of new and old, which was pretty awesome.
The dance floor is just a small area at the end of the crowded bar in the upstairs level. I wouldn't say the place is overcrowded but you may get trapped at times. I'll attribute the lack of service others have mentioned to this craziness... but maybe I'm completely wrong. Getting a table in the bar section seemed nearly impossible. Ideal spot for people watching though. The mix of cougars and 21-year-olds kept things interesting too.
Food was nothing to write home about. Pretty standard quality for restaurant & bar but at least the selection is good. Fries were quite delicious. Idea about drink prices = Newcastle ~$5.00 and my small Captain and coke ~$6.50.
I give this bar 6 months max. I know it's suppossed to be a replica of the old snuggery but the service is atrocious! A group on 7 of us wanted to go to the bar and the host said we needed reservations. No disrespect, but then you shouldn't say it's a bar if that's the way you run it. Didn't even stay there long enough to grab a drink or food. The 2 stars is for the poor hostesses and lack of space to actually enjoy the bar!
