This locally owned restaurant provides a lot of food for very few dollars. Breakfast selections are served hot and the pancakes are better than average.

When asking for well cooked bacon or well done toast, the staff always honors those requests.  The coffee is hot and does appear to be endless.

Service has always been at the very minimum good.

A good place for family and friends to meet over coffee or a meal. This is also a viable place to conduct a business breakfast or lunch.

I really like this Location a lot more than the Orland Park one. Just seems cozier I think.

    Here's the skinny:
They say 15 mins... they mean it.
Breakfast all day everyday, hot and fresh.
Watch out for Sunday Crowds, especially Brunch time.

    Here's the fat:
They are really accurate on wait times when you get in, we were told 15 min and guess what? Damn near 15 min on the dot! Not a major thing but, timeliness counts in my book.

I am a breakfast fanatic, the fact that I can go here at like 3 in the afternoon and get Bananas Foster French Toast or the Apple Pancake... Nom Nom, warm fuzzy feeling. Breakfast here is always hot and fresh too, The fresh fruit toppings they have are totally worth the slightly long wait times that they have on Sundays.

Speaking of Sunday wait times... expect to be waiting a while because of the church crows. If you want to be seated sooner, come at like 10:30 before the church rush at 11:00. After that it's anyone's guess at how long you'll be hungry. Like I'd mentioned though, it's worth the wait.

Wow is about all I can say about this place, stopped in on a Sunday morning after church services and the place was packed but we were seated right away. The wait staff were exceptional, quick and very efficient, the order was brought out correct and very quickly. Now about the food, the omelet was Paul Bunyan size and the Blackberry Crape with the berries being fresh  we're much more then the wife and I could finish. Do yourself a favor and give this place a try, you won' regret it.

The breakfasts here are generally really good.  Anything else on the menu has always been a lil below average in quality in my opinion, but I'm kinda stuck up when it comes to food.

This was my 1st visit and I can't wait to go back.  I had a hard time deciding what to order but finally went with the bananas foster waffle.  The waffle was perfectly cooked and crisp.  The bananas foster topping was good, albeit the bananas a little too soft.  I really didn't need any syrup because of all the juice from the melted brown sugar.

My husband had the buckwheat pancakes.  They seemed a bit thin.  They were just your average buckwheat pancake as far as taste goes.  He hopes to try a skillet next time.

The service was very good.  I was shocked how fast our food was served despite the restaurant being completely full.  Even my coffee cup was regularly topped off.

I looked around at the food on other tables as I walked in and out and can't wait to try an omelet, pancakes, the apple pancake...  Everything looked good!

Great place and good. I try to order a different item every time to keep it interesting and have never been disappointed. My favorites are the plain crapes, frittata Mendoza, and round potatoes.

Sophia's has a breakfast skillet that I am madly in love with.  No, like truly madly, deeply all Savage Garden and shit in love with.  I don't know the proper name of said skillet, I just know it consists of hash browns, eggs, chicken, salsa and avocados.  It's kind of brilliant cuz the avocados don't get all brown and gunky- they stay perfectly cut and bright green and are just perfection with the chicken and eggs.  It's a rather ginormous skillet, and I can never finish it, but it is my favorite thing on their menu.  Sophia's is one of very few breakfast spots that also lets you choose pancakes instead of toast as a side.  I've never been brave enough to get them- I'd look like Gilbert Grape's mom at the end of that meal if I did.

Another favorite is the crunchy french toast.  Don't question the crunch, I don't know what it is and it really doesn't matter.  The crunch is delicious. Order it, eat it, love it.  Their omelets are huge- made with 5 eggs and they offer a huge array of items to fill yours with.  I've never been here for anything but breakfast, haven't ever felt the need to stray from their breakfast menu.  Sophia's is also a great place to catch a hangover curing breakfast.  Perhaps I'll see you there after a long Saturday night.

I've eaten here a few times. It's an OK breakfast spot. I would not go crazy over it like the locals do in the area. The quality is so so and the pancakes taste like a mix, not made from scratch.

Neighborhood Restaurant Sophias is a airy and friendly place for people to enjoy a good meal.  The management is nice and the servers are serious about making sure my mom and I were sure about our menu choices and seating.

Mom and I split a waffle and an omlette with mozzarella cheese and asparagus.  After a couple cups of coffee and going over our plans for the day our waitress brought us our check.

We usually come here and probably will be for a long time.  Service is good in this small town of HIghland.

I've lived in "Da Region" for many years and driven by Sophia's almost every day, but today, I finally decided to try them out. And am I glad I did.

The interior has the 70's sensibilities perfectly preserved, from the vinyl seated booths to the wood ceiling fans. It's a nice touch.

My server Jennifer was friendly and helpful, answering all my questions about the fountain drinks, soups of the day, and how many pancakes you get with an order.

I had a scrambled egg, hash browns, Italian sausage, wheat toast, and 2 blueberry pancakes, all for $9. The portions were large, and well prepared.

    I will definitely be back.

The portions are huge and tasty.  I don't think I've ever ordered anything off the menu that I didn't like.  The service is fast and the food is hot and fresh.

    A few of my faves:
    - the fruit plate: huge portions of fresh and juicy fruit - YUM!
    - the pancakes: light and fluffly and oh so good...
    - the omelettes: made with FIVE eggs and cooked just right...

Mmm... just thinking about it makes me hungry...  Can't wait to go back!!

    Hello, FOOD SNOB here.
The Hostess was not very friendly.
    The Waitress kept rushing us.
My Potatoe Pancakes were not fully cooked.
And the Soup did not taste Homemade.
Very large portions but the quality is just not there.

Sophia's is known for thier pancakes and omlettes....but everything else on the menu is really good too....and where else can you substitute panckes for fries when you order a burger?

its a family owned greek coffee shop....and everyone is always friendly, service is prompt and coffee and pop refills come quickly even though this place is always packed....

one of my many quirks :-)  is that i dont always want *breakfast for breakfast* ....cheesburger and fries, philly cheesesteak (no green peppers please) the Frisco Melt  (sliced beef with melted swiss and 1000 isle dressing on grilled sourdough) makes me happy in the morning......but....

its hard to pass up Sophia's omlettes...they are freaking huge, made with 5 eggs and tons of filling....about 15 or so different ones, and i have tried most :-)   the spinach and feta.....southwest, with jalapenos, pepper jack cheese and a suprisingly good house made salsa, being two of my faves....im not a huge fan of pancakes, but everyone i know seems to love the ones here as well, and when i do feel the urge, they top mine with pecans and whipped cream......

they are not open for dinner, 6AM to 4PM only....and when im wanting some of Sophia's chicken fried steak and excellent cream gravy for dinner, i have to wait and get it for breakfast :-)

Tried Sophias the other morning and it was a great find.  Went to breakfast with an 8 year old in tow which can always be a dining experience in itself but the menu was very large so I stuck with a traditional breakfast for my first time here.

I had a two egg, bacon, pancakes and hash brown breakfast... first note is that the eggs are double yolked so if you order the two egg breakfast you got 4 yolks staring back at you alongside the largest pile of hash browns I have seen (1/3 of the plate covered)

the service was very good, the price was very reasonable and the food was very good.

the best testimonial came from the 8 year old when he said...."I am addicted to these pancakes".... high praise... believe me....

Went here this past weekend and it was good food. My omlet was huge and I couldn't even finish half of it! The pancakes were light and fluffy and really good. The hasbrowns were a little dry, but overall I would say the the meal was decent. Our waitress was really friendly and promt and even split the checks for us. It was even a sunday morning about 11:30 and we still got seated in less than 10 min. I will go here again if I am back in the area!

If you want a big breakfast for a cheap price then this is the place to go. They have a huge huge menu and a delicious selection of food. Service has always been prompt and friendly and I can say that I've never been dissatisfied with anything here.

Wow, this place has to be one of the best brunch values in the metro area.  The portions we had were huge and good and lived up to expectations from the yelp reviews.  The Greek omelette (with gyros meat and Feta cheese) was a 5 egg monster.  The country fried steak skillet was so large, the son only could eat half.  The wife had a burger and soup.  I'm pretty sure this is the first time we've had a burger where we substituted the fries for pancakes.   About half of the total order ended up being a handy carry home.  The coffee was good too.  The place was packed at 2pm on a Sunday - a good sign.  Service was friendly.   All of this for under $10 per person total.

Found out this place is only open from 6am to 4pm on Sunday, so it specializes in breakfast/brunch, and that's it.  They do have a 14 page menu, so there's a lot of choices.  If we're in the area again at brunch time, we'll definitely be back.

I've been going here for years and the food is wonderful. The flavoring is outstanding and the portions are certainly more than enough. All of the skillets are excellent and to die for. During the right season you must try the fruit plate, the large size is just too much. The seating to the east where the bay windows are is usually cool and drafty, therefore bring in a sweater or request a seat in the inner sections. A few waiter tresses are very friendly and extremely accommodating trying to assist you in getting the best deals. Watch your side dishes with you meals, they can add up very quickly.  The owners do not appear to be overly thankful for your business, nevertheless that's my opinion. Otherwise I believe you will have a good dining experience.

If you are craving breakfast, but unsure of what you want, then I suggest Sophia's. This place is absolutely delish. For starters, you get about four pages of choices for breakfast items. They have all types of skillets, pancakes, eggs, omelets, etc. My personal fave is the cheese blintzes. You can get them with all different toppings too. The atmosphere is like any diner. Great service and great food however!!!
