LOVE this spot. Has a warm homey feel with a warm friendly staff and overloaded plates marked by a modest price tag. Go early for an amazing breakfast discount. Don't let the gas station steer you away- this place is lovely. =) I shall be back!

Friendly staff, good food and fast service. It's close to home. Seasoned fries, delicious.

This last trip was disappointing. Only 1 table of patrons when we got there. Placed our order and when the food came put, my fries were cold and my moms has browns were cold. I asked the waitress for hot fries and she didn't object.

Next time I'll remember to ask for fresh fries.

Welcoming hostess.  Great waiter.  Clean and pleasant atmosphere.  Extensive menu.  Gluten free pancakes!  Excellent corn beef hash.  Hardly any wait at all for the food to come, and again, the waiter was great - Dan, I think was his name?  Not expensive at all.  Will return soon to try out their dinner.

Also on the way out, the hostess told us that they now deliver.  That's definitely a perk.

    I like you, Stages!

Usually love their breakfast, and their great prices, but my last two visits prompted this review. So I call in for a pick-up order, and when I came in I was greeted with a non-working credit card machine. The register person and server played with the machine for over twenty minutes..while I waited, and asked me to go remove money off of my card andddd I was to pay for the high as* ATM fees..Wait! It's not my fault your cc machine isn't working! So then they start to play with the machine again, and again, and again, while their hungry customer is just waiting, and waiting, and waiting. (Sighs) Finally they get the stupid machine to work and then I was good to go..after close to 30 minutes waiting! My food was cold, I was angry, and also late for work. From a Manager's point of view Stages, any time you are having any technical difficulties that has nothing to do with the customer, you shouldn't have to make them sit and suffer through your mishaps! Love your food, but the customer service ahh not so great.

It's a super casual family diner. There are tons of items on the menu with an emphasis toward breakfast. They make a great bacon waffle and their Mexican skillet was really good too. They get bonus points for having a parking lot. If you live in the area, it's a fine place to grab an inexpensive breakfast or lunch. I believe they close at 3:00 every day. They also deliver. I'll be back.

Great variety of breakfast items.  Kids love it here so we come most Sundays after mass.  It is the added incentive the kids need to make it through mass sometimes.  They have great ommelettes, skillets, and the portions are big.  They also have some light menu items if you're dieting.  The staff is very friendly and attentive.  Love this place.

    I'm...really into gas station restaurants.

I'm also really into not waiting anymore. I am nearing 30 and have the patience of a 92-year-old man's bladder. AKA--NONE.

Not only do I love Stages because there's no wait, but then menu is the Godzilla of Greek Diner menus. They even have a special Weight Watchers section, which I routinely compliment and then bypass to contemplate if I want 2 eggs or 3 eggs with all of the above meats, including Gyro meat, for my breakfast. With a stack of chocolate chip pancakes aperitif.

Coffee? Sure. BLECH, this tastes like a toilet. FILL 'ER UP!

No, really, their coffee tastes like it was made with toilet water and it's been on a hot plate since 1975. In a bad way.

I usually go for breakfast foods, which I already mentioned. But my friends get all up in arms about the gyros. I even heard it described as the "best gyro meat in Chicago" last week.

"Better than Mr. Greek?" Dom asked.
    "FUCK YEAH!" Ann responded.

And the fries. OOOOHHHHH the fries. Best fries in the city. Next to the Bagel, which is the most disgusting place you'll ever go. So, spare yourself and head to stages. Thank me later.

Love Stages. Even if the JJ Peppers next door just got shot up a few weeks ago.

Stages is ok, but if you walk a few blocks more to 35th and Halsted to Bridgeport Diner, the food and service is much better.  The owner of stages always gives amazing customer service as you enter and pay, but a few of the waitstaff need to lose the attitude.  There is one woman in particular that made a huge fuss as we entered at 1:45pm when they didn't close until 3pm.  I haven't went back since.

My wife and I were looking for a place to go to grab a New Year's Day breakfast. She was picking me up from work so we were looking for someplace new in the Bridgeport area to grab some good grub. This place immediately came to mind. The place where I work was on their fax marketing list for a long time. Every morning we would get a fax with their daily specials. Every time I would look at it, I would say to myself, "Self, you have to try this place out one day." I have to say that their marketing strategy worked as this was the first place that popped into my head.

Since it was New Years Day at 7:30 in the morning, I was not expecting much of a crowd there. We were actually the only people in the placed until around 8:00 when we left.  It kind of amused me that the entire staff here looked completely exhausted already and the day just started. Our server and all of the staff were great though. They were all very friendly, helpful and efficient. I could not have asked for anything more.

I ordered two eggs and gyro meat. It is one of my breakfast favorites. I must give this place major kudos as they are a major success performing the balancing act. This balancing act I speak of the value for the money. The portions here are a bit smaller, the prices are a bit higher, and the quality is much better than you will find at similar family restaurants in Chicago. The portions and the prices were not incredibly different where I felt I was being robbed. Instead I left here, feeling extremely satisfied and thinking about when I will be returning!

You better get to Stages if you want good food and a lot of it.

Check the back page of the menu. And check the specials card the waitress brings. Monday - all you can eat pasta for $4.99. Tuesday breaded pork tenderloin- and a cup of soup - $4.99.

On the back of the menu there is a list of full dinners - with dessert - for like $6.95.

The service is fine- the atmosphere is family - but every time we go it is quiet and we can talk and drink coffee and not be rushed around.

    They have FREE off-street parking.

    I love Stages.
