I wish I had found Swim Cafe years ago! As a vegan I loved the meal and dessert options (not extensive but a fair amount). I ate here around 4pm on a Wednesday.
FOOD: I'm not a coffee person, so I can't speak to the drinks but I did enjoy a good meal. My Vegan Philly Cheese Steak sandwich was delicious and a bit spicy. I chose the Asian slaw as a side, which I wouldn't recommend (it was spicy but otherwise not very flavorful). I also had a vegan Whoopie Pie -- outstanding! I came plated in a very pretty way, with two orange slices on the side. Ample in size, plenty of filling and didn't fall apart or squish the cream out the sides when I tried to eat it :)
AMBIANCE: There was nice blues music playing, but otherwise the crowd was pretty darn quiet. I saw 75% of the customers sitting alone with their Mac notebooks in front of them.
SERVICE: Quick, friendly and helpful. Clean dining area. Children's tall chairs available. No menus necessary, everything is written behind the counter on the wall. Bus your own table, though they do bring your order to your table.
I'd definitely go here again.
yet another coffee shop. Â however, their food is surprisingly good. obviously they don't bake their own pastries, but they source decent ones. good selection of teas (i just always get green tea).
the "good" menu item here is their green goddess salad, which is delicious. Â panini's are also above average and impressive if you take into consideration that they could just serve you crap sandwiches like every other coffee shop.
lucky's sandwich shop in university village with scott 2
average at best. their shtick is BIG sandwiches. university kids have no taste buds and big appetites, so it serves the market well, but it isn't quality food or execution. also, if you serve beer, you don't have to have good food.
