Came here for drinks and snacks and left happy. Our server was super nice with a good sense of humor. They validate your parking for the parking garage which is fantastic as well.
We had the goat cheese volcano app thingy...which was actually pretty good considering I'm not usually a goat cheese fan. Also tried the lava cake with ice cream (your choice of vanilla, chocolate chip, macadamia nut, and one other I forget) and while it wasn't so lava-y, it was still delicious. It is actually a chocolate chip brownie lava cake. :D
The drinks turned out to be slightly cheaper than listed on the menu so that was a nice surprise. I think maybe we hit the late-night hours by the time our bill came and they charged us that price even though we came earlier? Not sure, but wasn't going to ask in case it was a mistake. lol
Definitely coming back here again and I would recommend.
Went with a group of about 12 peeps and were enjoying ourselves but it's nothing special and the experience was marred by the waiter who insisted  my drink was fine and I could pay $2.50 for another shot.  Never mind that we spent around $500...the nonchalant manager he pulled over didn't seem to care/know how to provide great customer service either.
Review Source:If you are looking for beer and apps, this is the place to go!! Their jalepeno poppers and volcano goat chees are delicious! That being said, their grill must have been turned up a little too high last night, because everyone's sandwiches came out a bit charred... Not so tasty. Â Service can be hit or miss, but for the most part is good. Â Would definately reccomend if you are looking for a good beer selectionand some munchies, Â but head elsewhere for dinner.
Review Source:If you're going to visit here, come for happy hour! Their happy hour food is amazing! They have a pretty good menu selection and I think appetizers are their strength. the drinks are delish as well. I'd say their cocktail offering is pretty standard (but well made).
Of course, come here for beer. They have 100+ beers on tap. I have no idea how to make a selection with that many options available. I think their beer flight/sampler is a good option for indecisive people who like beer.
In terms of dinner, there's a bit of variety on the menu. I had the salmon. It was okay but I didn't love it. Other people in my group really seemed to enjoy their dinners. Service here is really top-notch. I came here with a large group for dinner and they were able to serve all of us without any huge waits for refills or gaps between food being delivered.
The beer list offers nearly endless choices which is quite nice for someone who enjoys drinking beer. Â As someone who enjoys drinking beer but is hardly a beer aficionado, it would have been helpful if the server had been knowledgeable about more of the beers on offer. Â Food was good but not stand-out among the many options in downtown Bellevue. Â It's a large space and we had no problem at all getting a table on a Thursday evening, which was nice.
Review Source:If you love beer, you will walk in and fall in love with this place! There is soooooo many beers on tap. 160 I believe .
They also do growlers of your favorite beer to go! With 1/2 off on Tuesdays, which will bring me back in!
A group of us were quickly served with a smile and everyone here is so nice. A great selection of food as well with a good happy hour to choose from!
Needless to say, I will be back for more!
I came here with a large group for my birthday and they did a fantastic job accommodating all of the drink & food orders.
I ordered the jambalaya pasta - so yum! And a beer flight - so many beer choices! The whiskey sour I had wasn't amazing - definitely overly syrupy and unnatural tasting, so I recommend sticking to beers & wines.
Everything else that people ordered looked delish. And the appetizer I tried - bacon wrapped jalapeno poppers - was excellent!
Free validated parking in the garage. Large drink & food menu. And plenty of seating.
Never been here before, but beyond the fact that they were busy, it was a good time.
This would have definitely been a 5-star, but for the servers being overtaxed by the lunch rush.
So, now that's out of the way...
Their selection was impressive, having many many many beers I had no idea were even a thing. I was driving, so I didn't take part in the drinking, but I did look jealously on as my dining companions raved about their drinks (outside of the Yeti beer, that is; it was not as well received) and I had some food.
The Spicy Blackened Caesar Chicken Salad was super large, the chicken in it was both juicy and tasty, and beyond that, the menu looked like it had a ton more that I would have loved to try out.
I'm definitely going to be back; I even signed up for their frequent drinker card, whatever it was called; after 160 drinks, you get your name put on the bar! Much better than earning points for silly redemption bonuses at a retail store.
Holy Jeebuz Batman! That's a whole lotta taps!
It's not often I get overwhelmed (this might be a little white lie) when I walk through the door of an establishment I've never been to before, but man was I floored as I walked over to the bar!
The entire back wall is just littered with tap handles - it feels like hundreds of them - although there are not hundreds, there are only *one hundred and sixty*. You know - not that many. :-| HA
They have beers such as Brother Thelonious, Old Rasputin & Prankster on tap - for real! Â These are all North Coast Brewing Co, and all my favorites and I've rarely seen on tap.
NICE!! Â
So I only came for the bar, I did not try the food. Â But as far as the bar is concerned, I'm a huge fan and can't wait to come back!!
Came here with a big group for happy hour and the food was mediocre and the service was terrible. Â The waiters would just drop the food off where they felt like dropping it off without asking who ordered what. Â i was sitting on one end of the table and noticed that all the dishes my table ordered were being dropped off at the other end of the table. Â i gave this place one extra start for the nice bartender who made me several great drinks.
Review Source:Great service even with the huge size of our group.
Came here for a birthday party and they even gave the birthday boy free dessert!
The prices are a steep, something you would expect from a hotel restaurant in downtown Seattle not a place in Bellevue.
Had the spinach artichoke dip which was good, but there was too much dip to chip ratio another handful of chips would have been nice.
The beer list is huge. There aren't any prices listed so when the bill comes it adds to the surprise.
Our waitress was great! She split the check for us about 10 ways!
Parking in the garage underneath is free with validation (up to 3 hours I think)
Were I to rate this place solely on the restaurant it would be 2 stars, consider my rating for the bar only.
Amazing beer selection! The staff seems to know their beer pretty well which is a bit surprising with over 160 different beers. I recommend popping in for a beer or two with some friends before heading elsewhere for dinner.
I have sat in the restaurant twice and I have to agree with the other yelpers, the service is slow at best (and it wasn't busy for either visit). The food isn't amazing and it is a bit pricey.
Has so many beers on draft you'll go in a tailspin. If you're not drinking, or basically wanting food, this is where I'm coming into review. No reservation about the beer selection, however, I don't see how you can drink a beer plus tip&tax for under $10, not even mac&jacks. I spent way too long looking for a standard bar meal on the menu. No BBQ burger... Minimal Vegetarian options.... So that caused problems for my friends. Ended up going with the Sushi Sampler and bisque soup. The Sushi was amazing... for a bar... so its certainly worth ordering the raw stuff, but the non-raw rolls, were not that great---skip. You basically come here to buy strange beer, and if you don't want strange beer or work 1-block away, why would you come here? Not the place to get mac&jacks or a good burger. I'm hungry, just thinking about it.
Review Source:Came on Thursday night and surprised how crowded it was. Â Hostess said would be 30 minute wait so we decided to hang at the bar. Â
Pro: Sheet number of beers on tap, friendly bartenders and happy hour fried calamari
Cons: Slow service and happy hour sushi (only 4 small pieces)
Got to table...
Pro: steak cooked to perfection, spicy shrimp pasta nice and spicy
Con: slow service, not too friendly waitress and did I mention slow service?
Will not be coming back...
I've been here for happy hour and thought it was OK. Nice, casual atmosphere for sure and it fills up quickly so you don't have to worry about your own noise level. Happy hour only has appetizer specials, not drinks = LAME. I'd also like to see some bar favorites on your app menu like deep-fried mushrooms, nachos and onion rings. I ordered the spinach artichoke dip and it was undippable. It was one mass of baked cheese that did not have the proper consistency to be called a dip. I put in a chip and it broke! I'll go back if other people want to, but I won't likely suggest it as a destination. It is close to work, which is nice.
Review Source:MONEY HORDING RESTAURANT !
I stopped by Taphouse for dinner for the very first time. Â I ordered the same dish that i always ordered for lunch. Â They brought out the dish and everything was the same. Â However, it's an extra $4 just because it's on the dinner menu!
Management! Â If you're reading this, then please do something about it. Â If you're going to charge your customers 35% more money for the same dish, at least change it around by adding in something extra to make up for the cost. Â It's BULLSHIT that you actually do that.
It makes you and your restaurant look EXTREMELY BAD!
Just went here for lunch with coworkers. For a Friday afternoon and a large group, service was great. I love it when the server offers to provide separate checks. It gets packed, so make a reservation or get there a little early before the lunch rush because it fills up. I got a lunch special - I'd say the selections are decent and you get a good amount of food for the price. Salads and burgers/sandwiches look good but honestly a little pricey for lunch (sushi is outrageous). However, every time I have been there my food was good. They have a ton of beer - maybe impossible to find something you won't like?
Review Source:Went last sat for lunch and when we arrived- no hostess. She came after a few minutes but still odd. Our waitress we both agreed was rude and not attentive. We had to ask for dessert after the bill was just dropped off. When we had dessert the cookie sandwich -- the cookies were rock hard ! Food was eh. I had been here before for happy hour in which the bruschetta was pretty good so that's the only reason this place is even gettin 2 stars. Wish I could remember the waitress ' name. Horrible. My husband said how bad she was before I even commented -- and he barely notices anything.
Review Source:Not really my favorite place at all -- I would say their food is pretty mediocre after I got my burger in a bun that seemed to absorb the moisture like a sponge. In the end, it was soggy and completely distracted from the flavors. Fries looked like they were wimpy toothpicks and tasted greasy.
Service was unprofessional. I understand you just hired a new waiter but I do not like improper English and slang spoken to me while I'm ordering. It's sloppy. Mannerisms were just terrible--absolutely no eye contact and things were just thrown on the table.
Dishes ordered: Order at your own disappointment
I went here for the third time recently and had lunch. If you are tired of drinking the usual on tap beers at other places, feeling adventurous or just stumble in, this place is Great! Â Food is pretty good too! It's your typical Bellevue bar prices, nothing outlandish or shocking. The bar area is nice and they have a horde of TVs to watch the sports games. I am a definite fan!
I had a hamburger, so did my friend, and it was really good with a great 1/3 pound or so chuck patty. Â My friend's burger had a mushy bottom bun because they put wet lettuce on it and for this I cut it down to 4 stars. Â Otherwise the food is excellent. The vibe is upbeat and energetic.
If I could review the service alone I would definately give them 5 stars. However, the food was only okay.
I came here with a large group for a Birthday dinner. It was Saturday night so, of course, the place was packed. Lucky for us we had called ahead and made reservations.
The food here is typical American cusine.
Probably wouldn't go back unless someone else was paying.
I am one of the few people that actually ventured through all 160 beers, otherwise said I have been a fan of the Tap House for a long time. Last night went to the Bellevue location and had no choice but to just walk away. They replaced the old comfortable and cushy bar stools with the most hideous and inhospitable, hard, small, no back, no where to  rest or  lean your weary tired back  new bar stools. I am curious what was in their minds? I guess they do not want people to sit at the bar more than 5 min. This is the worst seating imaginable. Very very poor decision, that will drive many people away towards other bars that really want you to sit  down and and take your time.
Tap House management should strongly consider bringing back the old comfortable bar stools.
Any other people out there that feel the same way I do about this issue or am I just a weird one? Â :-)
I'm the type of person that once I find something I like, I tend to stick with it. When I came here a while back, I ordered the crab mac & cheese and personally found it to be awesome! So, anytime I come here, that's typically what I order :) I can't really give a rating on other foods, since I don't come here too often, but I have seen the prices on some of the foods and I think some items are a little pricey. The service was fine I think for us. I mean, we came in on a Friday/Saturday night, so I usually don't expect lightining-fast service on either nights, but they weren't annoyingly slow.
Honestly, the food options don't really stand out to me, but the beer selection does. I'm not a huge beer drinker, but this place has SO MANY options for beer, even someone like me is bound to find something I'll enjoy. I'd probably prefer to come here for a drink or two before a movie. (The walk really isn't *that* bad)
I'm being generous for giving it a 4 star... probably 3.5
Many reviewers were right in that the beer selection here is great. Food is what you expect for a bar/lounge setting. I don't come here and expect delicate or fancy dishes, but for the comfort food purpose, it hits the mark. Shrimp popcorn, Jamaica jerk wings, and nachos go quite well with the beer. Their salad or pasta entrees are well-seasoned and with good portion.
Of all the restaurants that "looked nice," this restaurant lands at the very top of my Area 51 list. Â In other words, don't go there. Â Overpriced, underwhelming, and a waste of time and money.
I want to start with the quality of the food. Â I ordered Jamaican Jerk Chicken Wings, which were overwhelmingly sweet with no notes of heat whatsoever. Â Then came my main course, the Cajun Jambalaya Pasta, which had the heat overpowered with cream. Â Clearly, this was no Jambalaya I would EVER recommend.
What also made my experience worse was the reaction of my server. Â When I decided not to order a specialty drink, he raised an eyebrow at me. Â Then for the rest of my time in the restaurant, he never stopped to refill my water until after he was ready to hand me my check. Â Ultimately, what set me off in anger was that I was charged a mandatory 18% gratuity, a gratuity that he would have NEVER earned given the quality of the service he presented to me tonight.
A word of caution: AVOID this restaurant at all costs. Â It looks nice, but will leave you feeling terrible after they're done with you here. Â If you decide to come out to the restaurant, don't bother inviting me to come back. Â I will refuse no matter what.
I'm kind of surprised to see so many negative reviews of this place. Â I certainly didn't experience bad service during my visit. Â I visited during happy hour, and the place was swarming with whom I would assume were drunken Microsoft employees. Â Despite the extreme busyness, my server was friendly and attentive. Â Another server (not mine) noticed I was running low on the bread that went with my appetizer and took it upon herself to ask if I wanted more, then hunted down my server and informed her. Â When does that ever happen in an extremely busy restaurant?
Speaking of appetizers, the Volcano Goat Cheese is incredible. Â It's a big glob of goat cheese, served in a red sauce of some sort, with something put in it that makes it very, very spicy, and served with crisp bread. Â This is a must-try.
Beer-wise, they have a great selection, as that is their specialty. Â Not being a local, I figured I'd try the "Northwest Sampler"--4 six oz. glasses of local brews. Â They brought out an IPA, a hefeweizen, a porter and a brown ale I believe. Â Most were solid, if unspectacular, although I though the Lazy Boy Hefeweizen was one of the best examples of that style that I've tried.
No real negatives to report other than that it's a little loud and hard to find seating by the bar.
Whenever I go here I get bad service and always end up at the Rock Bottom Brewery next door. It has fewer beers by far but they're not bad and the staff are way, way better.
Today I walked in with my wife and baby and asked for a table. Despite an empty restaurant we were told it would be some time. I understand sometimes you need to wait for servers. But we waited, and waited. And the staff weren't super friendly. So we said we would go next door and they said "ok bye!"
Rock Bottom were friendly, attentive and as ever better. Go there.
If you're a guy on your own, sitting at the bar at tap house will work but again the staff can be kind of zonked out at best.
Horrible service, the waiter asked if we wanted dessert, we declined, then he handed us the bill and walked away . I mean we still wanted more drinks but decided to bounce. Had the mahi mahi which was good but did not make up for the horrendous service.
Beware, heard the yard house is coming to town and I am sure this place will lose service to them.
If you're hungry during happy hour, this is where you want to come. Their food menu for happy hour is very good. The drink menu? Not so much. That's a pretty huge deterrent to me.
The ambiance is great, too, and I've never had bad service. What keeps me from giving more stars? The menu prices during non-happy hour times and the lacking happy hour drink menu.
Oh, well, can't win 'em all, right?
So, I sit down at the bar see 'Coyote Ugly' with her raven hair and vicious curves modestly draped in a black apron, a man shirt and matching boy cut slacks. Â
I'm thinking "This chick is way too hot to actually know anything about the wall of beer taps behind her". Â Oh and did I mention that this chick also happened to look like Rose McGowan? Â
OMG i was so pleased to be wrong! Â She was affable and knowledgeable about the 160 beers on tap. Â 160 BEERS. Â (Standby, I'm looking for a tissue *sniff* oh the beauty of it).
Our bartender was really great helping us navigate through the huge selection and was extremely generous with samples too!
Hoo-ray for hot, knowledgeable bartenders!
