I am sorry to say this place did not live up to the reviews.
This is the second place I've been to that does not use tostadas on their tostadas. Instead they use over cooked tortillas which do NOT enhance the flavor. And apparently they ran out of refried beans as well because half of it had regular kidney beans. Another problem was the steak... poor quality and very fatty. And the biggest problem.... not very tasty at all.
Sorry guys....
We just ate here for the first time tonight ! Nice place nice employees and on Tuesday and Wednesdays they have $1 tacos!!! That you can't beat! I got chicken and asked for only sour cream and cheese
My fiancé wanted everything (steak)and they only put lettuce and tomato...he said and I quote disappointing!!
But I was pretty pleased with the food from here and would like to go back every week for cheap and yummy tacos!!
Moved into the neighborhood this summer. Looked for a good Mexican joint. Some others around that either are scuzzy looking or over priced for a take out type joint. Â El Primois clean, decent tasting, good portioned, reasonably priced food. Plus you can order off GrubHub and use paypal.
Review Source:Ordered from here a couple times and each time they managed to mess up the order. Â Last time I was there I picked up the food, got home, and realized they were short several tacos! Â The girl was not only rude, but didn't believe me when I told her the order was wrong. Â She gave me the copy of her check where she wrote the order and she misread the a "7" as a "2." Â Also, I've never been to a restaurant where you can order pico de gallo where they don't give you chips! Â They made up for it by giving the missing tacos at no additional charge, however the attitude I received when I called them out on their mistake was unacceptable!
In this economy, when good tacos and great service are not hard to find, I choose to spend my money elsewhere.
Not bad. Â I work right in the area and this is great for a quick bite. Â I particularly am a fan of their $1 tacos on Tuesday and Weds. Â For a buck, you can't beat it. Â The meat is a little dry and not the most flavorful, but totally worth a buck. Â The tacos are a good size, not too big and not too small. Â Also, the guacamole was excellent and fresh and only $4.
They have great sodas from Mexico too: Jarritos, Sangria Senorial, and Mexican Coca-Cola.
The restaurant is clean, the parking is plentiful, and the pulsating red, green, and blue lights strung around the windows always makes me laugh.
Not a bad spot at all. Â Definitely always a viable option for a quick lunch!
Yum!
I happen to be in the area around lunch time. I saw Taqueria El Primo, looked it up on Yelp and liked what I was reading.
I am glad I stopped. Â I went with the Taco Dinner.
The steak tacos were very good. The steak was tender, juicy, and full of flavor. The toppings were all fresh. The salsas both green and red were really good. The salsas were fresh and the green had a little heat.
I also judge a good Mexican restaurant by their re-fried beans. These were cooked perfectly and had great texture and flavor.
The rice was also good. It was cooked just right and had nice flavor.
The prices were right. Let's hope it stays that way...
It's very clean inside with about 12 tables. The music complimented the whole experience.
The people were very nice and friendly.
My only problem, I wish it was closer to the house.
I will be returning!
I was so excited to hear that this restaurant had moved into the neighborhood. Â I finally made my way in there to try it out and it is fantastic! Â It's nothing fancy but it is a great environment. Â As soon as you walk in you are greeted by friendly staff in both Spanish and English. Â There is Latin music playing and the bright orange walls, although an odd color choice, make it very warm and cheerful. Â The food is plentiful, comes quick and is reasonably priced. Â It is made with fresh ingredients and the tortilla's are home made. Try the Horchata. Â It's delicious! Â I typically go to Susie's on a warm day for a milkshake but I may start coming here for the Horchata instead.
Review Source:Great addition to the neighborhood! Â I mean, who couldn't use a great Mexican restaurant nearby?
Very fresh ingredients, good portions and prices, and very friendly service! Â They had no problem with us making some changes to our orders (no beans, just rice, no peppers on the veggie taco, etc, etc, etc) - they really could not have been more accommodating.
We were all very happy with our meals, and will be very happy to come back!
LEGIT Taqueria with tortillas made in house! The horchata was perfect. I had an avocado taco and a vegetarian taco- each of them was awesome.. the veggie options at taquerias are usually not great (rightfully so) but this was amazing- rice, beans, roasted onions and peppers, lettuce, tomato, cheese... mmm I'll be back to check out more of the menu!!
Review Source:This place is amazing!!! Great food and friendly staff. Â I have eaten there and carried out and never have to wait long for my food. Â The chips are made fresh as soon as you arrive and the green and red sauces are amazing!
Another thing they have $1 TACOS!! Tuesday and Wednesday no limit and it is dine in OR carry out (you can get any kind of meat). Â The tacos are authentic (cilantro and onion).
I highly recommend this place, the burritos are good too -- and no one beats their Horchata!
