Taqueria La Mexicana Restaurant

Yum! We ordered delivery on a Sunday morning...and had the best verde chilaquiles...maybe even ever!  It's easy to do chilaquiles wrong, but these were everything right!  Perfect flavor and spice.  Of course the chips were a little soft, but not soggy. The steak burrito was huge for the price and the fajitas were also fresh and hit the spot. Now our new favorite Mexican takeout because the prices are reasonable for great Mexican food.  (Especially compared to other south loop-ish places like Carbon & Cantina).

Very nice Mexican restaurant with a small bar in the front. They have a chalkboard with a different dollar special for every day of the week. Of course, I went for my usual: burrito suizo and chips and salsa. The chips and salsa was pretty expensive, but then even the small size is giant!
The food came out remarkably fast, and the portion size was so large I ate it over two meals (and I was VERY hungry!) The burrito was delicious, though the chips could have used a little salt and tasted like they came out of a bag, and the salsa was lacking jalapenos and was heavy on the canned crushed tomatoes.
Overall, I was pleased and will be back.

Legit Mexican food at great prices, friendly staff & strong, delicious margaritas! (1/2 price on Thursdays)

I typically go for tacos, quesadillas, sopes or burritos - no complaints here, I'm happy with my food every time.

One Friday after a particularly trying week, I went to dinner with a friend & saw this drink & ordered it - thinking it was a regular margarita with 2 mini coronas... Not at all. It was gigantic & delicious!!! Since my friend doesn't drink, I was going it solo... Let me tell you, I've gotten more out of those $24 than I ever would at any bar.

It's essentially 3 margaritas (in one fish bowl of a margarita glass) with 2 full sized Corona's flipped into it. It tastes like iced tea with lemonade. Yum! Careful, though, if you're not sharing, it will: Mess. You. Up. Trust me.

I recommend this place for food and/or drinks 10/10 times. You just can't go wrong, especially not for the price.
