This is still the best place to shoot pool in the Berkeley area. I love they have one of my favorite beers on tap, Death & Taxes, they had the SF Giants game playing on their TV by the bar, friendly staff, and random music playing in the background (brownie points from me for whoever put a Blackstar song on the playlist). If you're not into pool, there's also a shuffleboard at the front and pinball machines near the outdoor patio area. Plenty of booth seating at the front if you just want to sit down with friends and chit-chat or something. Depending on where you get your pool table in the back, you might get to sit on a couch.

This place was pretty awesome. I wish there was a place just like this in San Jose or the city. We got there around 9 so it wasn't filled with college folk yet, but the age range was acceptable for someone nearing 30. Good music, TONS of space, 3 areas for pool, lower, upper, and 1 table in the rear patio. Also lots of little nooks for people going for drinks after a date or whatnot. Nice, big bar and friendly bartenders and multiple bathroom locations for the ladies.

I liked that it felt truly like a pool hall upstairs and truly like a fun "let's get wasted" bar downstairs. Probably gets a bit crowded later with the influx of the college crowd, which could be annoying or fun depending on what you are looking for.

I would be back for sure  if I was in Berkeley more often.

Very loud bar and very crowded but very fun at the same time. There are rounded tables, where a big party can sit. There are random couches, stools, pool tables. Plenty of room just to stand. Getting a drink is a mission though. The bar gets surrounded with a huge crowd and it takes around 5 minutes for the wait to even order a drink. If you do get your order taken, might as well get mulitple ones so that you can make the least amount of trips to the bar. The music playing is always good, mostly Top 40. The decoration is pretty, very under the sea theme. There is also a different special everyday. It's usaully good.
