Very chill place, great atmosphere and awesome staff. Â Very helpful, knowledgeable, and real. Â Relatively small selection, but you get the feeling they buy for their clientele -- I found everything I wanted. Â Very reasonable prices (no discernable indie store markup, a few albums I spotted were even less than Amoeba).
Review Source:wow what a find! came here looking for a copy of Random Access Memories by Daft Punk, I had not even made it pass the door when I was already being greeted!! Wow! great selection all be it small. They did not have what i wanted, however the young lady there that day offered to take my info and call me as soon as they had more in. I will definitely be taking more lunch breaks here. The only downside is the street parking. Love it keep it up guys! Oh by the way ended up picking up The National's new release.
Review Source:Wow! What a gem on the Westside! I had Yelped 'vinyl' on the wside (because I'm elite and that's how I give back to the community  -- love y'all) and Touch Vinyl came up. I grabbed my friend Erin on a Saturday and made her come with me. I was immediately impressed with the what seemed to be hand picked selection. Sebastian was super friendly and helpful. He helped explain to the noob that I am about the different kind of tables and needles and what I should get. I purchased an original Abbey Road and a Rolling Stones record. We signed up for the mailing list and there has been some awesome sets/releases that I've been updated on. Really love it. He was able to help my friend find a Policia record she wanted. I also love the review of someone else saying: "it kind of feels like you've escaped LA, and people care."
LOVE. I can't wait to come back again!
I dropped by with the intentions of picking up a few albums for a friend, and left with a turntable and a new collection for myself. Â
Sebastian is awesome. Â He was able to quickly bring me up to speed on what components to buy, what not to buy, where to shop used records, where to shop used online, etc. etc. Â He clearly loves what he is doing. Â He wants you to love vinyl too.
We were talking about some artists he didn't carry, and a few days later he emailed me with news that he was able to order some albums I had mentioned... seriously? Â How did he even remember? Â It kind of feels like you've escaped LA, and people care.
I'll be buying as much as I can here and would definitely recommend the same to you.
Touch..
Is a cool spot where you can just hang out and be lost away digging for treasures. Smaller collection but spacious enough to have a good collection on Hip Hop, Jazz, breaks, and down tempo artists. They had some classic 90's hip hop singles that were right up my alley.
Good prices, and all items are in good condition. Nice listening location to preview the vinyls.
A recommended stop to shop for vinyls in West LA!
Dope record shop in an area that does not have too many cool stores. The owner, Sebastian, is a nice guy and will help you look for whatever you need very quickly. Prices are pretty standard as far as vinyl goes, but you will find a lot of cheap singles (mostly hip-hop/rap) as well as some classic rock albums. Touch also hosts events like listening parties, guest DJs, and screenings so look them up on facebook if you're into all that stuff.
Review Source:Awesome little shop - curated, clean, very diverse selection, although I wish they had more rock. Â The prices are a few bucks (1 or 2) more than what youll find on amazon, but its worth going in to browse and stumble across something you forgot about or looks interesting. Â $2 singles!
Review Source:I've always been interested in vinyl and records, but recently took the plunge and picked up a turntable. Other than a few old/used records in my collections, I was a newbie, who listened to a wide range of music and was not sure what to look for. In fact, I am bad with artist and album names - yet I was looking to pick up a few good albums to listen to.
A friend of mine introduced me to this store and I am so glad that she did. Sebastian the owner was extremely helpful and patient. He spent a considerable time helping me identify new artist and albums based on my taste. He even recommended  a list of artist for me to listen to at home. If I liked them enough, I could come back to the store for the album. Sebastian is extremely knowledgeable and was never once impatient with my slew of questions. I never felt pressured, rushed, and out of place - even for being a newbie of being in the store for the first time.
Furthermore, even if the store did not have the record I was looking for, Sebastian had no problem putting in an order for me. Â You can tell that this was not just a business for the owner, but it was a passion for him as well. That is always great to see. Â
The ambiance of the store is also great. Feels very welcoming and there were other customers hanging out there when I dropped by. Â If you are looking for a friendly place to feed your record/vinyl addiction, or are simply a newbie like me looking to learn more, grow your collection, Â or just want to expand your exposure to new artists and types of music - Touch Vinyl is worth a visit.
This is one of my favorite places to be. The first time I went to Touch not only was the environment warm but the owner was so welcoming as well. It is a hidden gem if you don't go along Sawtelle Blvd, but if you are on Sawtelle it is clearly marked and easy to find. The record selection is a wonderful mix of old, new, obscure, rare, and popular quality music. The beanbag chairs are super comfy too. Definitely willing to take the trek to check it out if you aren't local.
Review Source:promising little store on the westside. Â I can see this place growing to have a strong cult following. Â It's small inside, so the selection isn't exactly VAST per se, but was immediately able to find some quality records I wanted.
nice atmosphere, cool owner, competitive prices. Â Advisable stop on the west side. Â Excited to see what this place grows into, especially since I'm only a couple blocks away. Â :)
This store is a work of LOVE, and the owner Sebastian is a great guy.
The space is designed really well, and feels so cozy I could chill and listen to music there for HOURS. They even have a cute little outdoor patio, and he sometimes brings his cat Gotham to the store who I completely adore.
I only recently got into vinyl, and started doing a lot of research and asking questions. It's become the start of a hobby for me. Â Sebastien enthusiastically answered all my questions and very clearly explained how turntables work and the differences between vinyl and digital, and it all fascinated me.
The selection of vinyl is various, and they carry Music Hall turntables - which I decided to order and I can't wait for its arrival. Â
He even holds cool events like B.Y.O.Vinyl on Sunday evenings and Listening Parties on Monday evenings. Â The setup there is amazing, and it's fun to hang out there with cool people and listen to music.
So glad for this place to arrive in my area.
My visit in late August 2012 suggested this store was a work in progress--but a very promising one. Outside, workers were painting a large panel or fixture for the interior, but the store was open. Found a cool darkish shop with great music and a few visitors hanging out on beanbag chairs.
A reasonable selection (800?) of new sealed indie titles, and some slightly worn rock titles, including at least a few Beatles in there. But the heart and soul here clearly is hip-hop and R&B.
The very cool employee/partner/owner? told me that they were busily stocking and pricing a collection from a local DJ, who may or may not have been a guy named Hideo who passed away a few years ago. The store to some degree is a shrine to his remarkable collection, with bin cards and a nice in-memoriam sign bearing his name.
Most of the hip-hop was unpriced when I went in but some very cool stuff: Speakerboxx/The Love Below for $24 IIRC. Also some amazing high-end items like the incredibly limited (and gorgeous) NiN Dragon Tattoo box (didn't dare ask about the price on that one!).
I'm sure they'd price and sell you anything in the store, so don't hesitate to stop in. Good store, reminded me of a cross between Turntable Lab and High Fidelity. Can't wait to see what it becomes.
Best record store on the west side, hands down. It's so nice that I don't have to trek all the way to Amoeba to pick up new releases on vinyl now. Great people, great neighborhood, parking is always easy to find and they have free events with bands and DJs. It's just a really fun spot to hang out at in general. Highly recommended.
Review Source:Imagine a record store in your neighborhood where you can get new releases on vinyl, rediscover old favorites, talk to the owner about music you might want to check out, and just hang out listening to records before you buy them. Now drive over to Sawtelle and have this dream come true!!!
Seriously, we all know that buying music from Target, Best Buy, or iTunes feels impersonal. And we all know that Amoeba is a musical mecca. But don't we all miss the neighborhood store that will order things especially for you? Don't we all miss the times when you didn't get music with click of a button, and actually had something tangible to hold in our hands? And most of all, shouldn't a music store be a place where music lovers can join together? Â Well, the answer to all these questions is "Yes!!!!" for me. Â
Can you tell that I am a little excited about this store opening? That's because it is awesome. Independently owned and operator by a fellow lover of music.
Support local business!!! And hang out in a cool neighborhood that's not Silverlake while you're at it.
I stumbled by this place after getting dinner across the street and what a happy find it was! Â It's an all-vinyl shop with a good selection of new and used releases. Â They just opened up earlier this month but I can already tell that I'll be frequenting this place often. Â Super friendly staff and complete with bean bag chairs and shag rugs. Â Nice, clean interior - my fingers didn't even get musty after flipping through all the records! Â What a great addition to the west side!
