Way better burritos than the chains elsewhere.  Much cheaper too.  Family run and polite.  Feels like your house; hence the name.  I've always sat down for dinner but take out might be a good idea too.  Super nice and sweet. Made to order.

If you ever drive up Clark you'll notice every other restaurant is a little Mexican joint. Tu Casa really stands out because of the excellent service. There's always a middle aged guy working and he's friendly and helpful. Last time I went with my boyfriend ordered the daily special without noticing and the guy converted it and we got free drinks! They have tables for sit down service or you can call ahead for take out.

I recommend eating in the restaurant because the soup is a nice extra. The place smells like a good Mexican home and makes you even hurgrier

The food is average for Mexican, but I've never had something I didn't enjoy. Plus my mother, an excellent judge of Mexican cuisine, enjoyed the place.

The horchata it pretty good. They have a pretty good (non-alcoholic) drink selection.

The burritos are huge and delicious, especially for the price.

The interior is plain. Quiet. No music or TV.
The man working the counter was probably the owner. He was really friendly, really helpful, really eager, encouraging us to come back.
There was only one woman working in the back.
The meal started with not only free chips and salsas (chips thin and crispy, good), but also a free cup of noodle soup. It wasn't revolutionary, it was a plain red veggie soup, but it was nice and hot on a cold night.
The horchada was ricey, like I like it.
We got an order of guacamole. It was fine. Nothing to get excited about. Heavy on everything but avocado.
Husband got a ridiculous dish. He ordered the camarones rellenos. The shrimp came out not only stuffed with cheese, but wrapped in bacon and deep fried. What! I mean, they were fried perfectly and tasted like a dream. But be forewarned...a heart attack on a plate. He got 6 fried nuggets containing 12 shrimp total, with rice and beans. A really good deal.
I, myself, got a veggie taco. Eh. Too wet with too much iceberg lettuce. The pastor taco was fine. Too many chunks of fat for my taste.
And then there was the quesadilla, which I recommend. I got the chorizo quesadilla. Honestly, the chorizo was disgusting. The chunks were too big, reminding me too vividly of the actual ingredients of chorizo. But the tortilla in which the chorizo was wrapped was so different. Big and thick and corn and homemade. I can see myself going back for one of these and getting a more palatable filling. It's unlike any other quesadillas available on Clark.
