Food is honestly sub par for the price. You can find a much better steak for half the price and the calamari was absolutely horrible. It doesn't take a refined pallet to tell when calamari isn't fresh. The brisket was decent but definitely not "tender enough to eat w only a fork". The ambiance was definitely nice w unique artwork. Maybe they should've scaled back on the design and spent more time on the food.

I've always heard about this place but never got a chance to go until this week. The location is kind of tucked away, but the industrial setting makes it all the more fun. Dare I say, urban?

I came with a small group so we shared apps and entrees.

Bacon - everybody loves bacon. These two strips were cut a little thicker and topped with pickled okra and peppercorns, but also served with some kind of honey dijon mustard. The bacon's delish without the sauce, but in the end, it's only good because it's thick like the pork belly slices at Korean BBQ. It only made me wish we had gone to a Korean BBQ place.

Scallop ceviche - I mistakenly thought it was mozzarella in some kind of balsamic/pesto sauce because that's what the scallops looked like. Plus, they were so tender just like mozzarella. I wasn't too impressed.

Calamari - Kind of a staple app at most place. I like the batter the squid was covered in, but there was a little too much sauce. The sauce was a little too sweet. However, others in my group really liked it.

Lamb ribs - I enjoyed these ribs. They were so tender and flavorful that I mistook them as some kind of beef/pork rib because there was no lamb smell to it. It's a shame they're such small portions.

Pork Chop - This was the entree we shared which also had the dressed bread salad. My only complaint was that the pork chop was a little difficult to cut with our butter knives. We should've asked for a steak knife. The side of peach and buttermilk dressed bread salad was a bit unusual. It was tasty but you don't want to let it sit too long or else the bread really soaks up the buttermilk.

Duck - This was more reminiscent of duck confit. The flavors are all offset well with the other textures on this dish like the sausage and oyster mushrooms.

Overall, Two Urban Licks does an excellent job of making most of their items juicy and flavorful. I really like the space as it's so large that it can easily handle large parties, but it can still be intimate. My only complaint is that the live band can make it difficult to talk to people and whether you like it or not, you're going to walk out with the smell of bacon on your clothes. For some people, this is a good thing: my date couldn't keep his paws off me. Haha!

I'd like to come back to enjoy the space and maybe try more dessert, but I think we picked out and tried out all the things that stood out to us on the menu.

This place is definitely overrated.  My friend and I got the reservation on a Sunday night and decided to give this place a try.  I ordered their pork hog and it was overdone.  I am a huge pork fan and the hog was suppose to be succulent filled with flavor.  Unfortunately, the hog was extremely dry and overcooked, and on top of that, it lacks flavor.  Later on, this item disappeared from the menu and I guess they finally figured out that it was horrible.

This review is late, but what the heck. We went to this place on Valentine's Day 2010. We entered the place and really liked the atmosphere until we were seated, next to a fire extinguisher. I mean, it was right next to my shoulder. At any rate, when the food came, it was NOT seasoned at all. Sent all of it back. We finished our bottle of wine, paid my tab for the wine, left and never came back.

I recently visited Two Urban Licks. I was pleasantly surprised. The outside gives you a totally different feel from what you get when you open the front door. The open warehouse feeling was cute. The night I visited there was a live band performing so it was a little loud but still really cute. I ordered the salmon chips which were absolutely delicious. I also ordered the prawns. I would pass on the prawns next time but there are plenty of other things on the menu that sound just as appealing.

Overrated and overpriced. There are much better spots in and around Atlanta for the money. The selection of gins at the bar was very weak and the bartender could not make a proper martini to save his/her life. If I am paying 10 bucks for a cocktail, it better be properly concocted by a professional who knows his/her craft. That was clearly not the case with the bartender at Two. The food was also just meh and in my opinion overpriced. I had the bistro steak and my wife had the scallops. The mushrooms and potatoes served with the steak were salty, and the green beans were underseasoned. The steak was well-cooked, but not worth the 24 bucks. My wife's scallops were just OK.

The atmosphere was trendy, but you walk out of the restaurant smelling like a bbq pit because of the open smoke pit in the center of the room. It is off-putting at the end of the night. All in all, my advice is to skip this place entirely if you are in Atlanta. There are better options both at this price point and below this price point.

I read about this place in Garden & Gun magazine. This was my first visit here, alone, so I decided to take a seat at the kitchen counter. It was very entertaining. The music was great, but if I had been there with more than myself I would consider it too loud to talk.

I started with an appetizer special that had wood fired head-on shrimp with a BBQ sauce drizzled over the top. The smoke flavor of the shrimp worked nicely with the sauce. For the main course I had the Bistro Steak which was grilled perfectly rare and served with herb whipped potatoes, beans, corn, shitake mushrooms, and chimichurri. The drinks were well prepared. My only challenge was slow service. My server disappeared a couple of times when I could've used a refill. The place is buzzing with activity and the kitchen staff run like a well oiled machine.

    I will return.

This place is in an old converted warehouse/factory on the edge of Buckhead (much like Vinnings, Buckhead is ever-growing).  The have a little sign on the street & you have to drive through this mini-maze to actually get to their door.  I guess this is a way to weed out the kool-kids from the not so adventerous.

Anyhoo, you don't have to valet, but just do it anyway as otherwise you will have something of a walk.  I was there on a balmy Saturday at 7pm-ish.  I attempeted to get a reservation, earlier that day, but was unsuccessful.  Undeterred I went anyway & am mighty glad I did.

The decor is totally industrial, as the room is completely opened with the grill dead center.  Everything here is grilled & as mentioned you will smell like smoke once you leave.  As also mentioned in other reviews, get the Salmon chips.  We could not identify what is in them (except for the salmon; natch) but just know that they are freaken delicious.  I got the porkchop, which was grilled to perfection.  Juicy, medium-well pork could scarecely be prepared any better.  Actually everything we ate was great.  The only downside  was my mixed drink.  I asked for a Screwdriver, which was mediocre if not downright bland.

The atmosphere is totally Atlanta Hip which means lots of Hot Girls with waaayy too high heels & thin guys in sunglassess & James Harden beards.  There are also a few of the over 45 crowd (like me) but i never felt like I was the, "Oldest man in the Club".  There was a Jazz trio playing, but they sounded a little tepid & were drowned out by the crowd noise. For good jazz I recommend Churchill Grounds.

The wait staff here is great.  For some reason, the more expensive/snooty/exclusive places are in the ATL, the more the hired help resents you even being there.  Two Urban Licks defintely bumps that trend.

I have seen some parapharnalia that lists this place as the Number One Resteraunt in the ATL.  I'm not ready to go quite that far (because of that drink) but this place is in the top 5.

I have been to Two Urban Licks over half a dozen times. The empanada is always amazing and a MUST.  Their white sangria is spot on.  I tried the scallops this time, which is one of their signature dishes and it was delicious! We also had the cucumber and buffalo salad. Interesting, but the buffalo sauce obviously took over the flavor of the dish.  The dessert was great - banana chocolate chip bread pudding. While i was a little disappointing at the size (very small and too small to share!), it was just enough after a big dinner.  It gets VERY loud after 8/8:30pm and whatever you wear to the restaurant, plan on airing it out, because your clothes and hair will smell like BBQ smokiness since their "kitchen" is in the middle of the restaurant.  We typically don't walk out the door without spending $75+, but it's worth it!

Group of 3, ordered 2 appetizers (grilled prawns and a pot of mussels), 3 entrees (duck, salmon, and trout) and 1 dessert (bread pudding). We also each ordered a drink, the total came to about $150.

Service was pretty awesome, swanky loft décor made for a pretty cool atmosphere. Beware of the strong smoke smell, it will linger on your clothes and may bother people's eyes but it wasn't that noticeable after a while. Also you can always request to sit out on the patio if the smoke bothers you.

Food was really good, the grilled prawns was amazing, the smoky flavor from the grill went well with the sweet prawns, too bad there were only 3 prawns.

I had the duck which was pretty good, my friends enjoyed their salmon and trout as well. Entrees were a good size. But the real star was the English toffee bread pudding that came with caramel sauce, vanilla ice cream, and crunchy toffee bits. It was on the small side but very delicious. I liked how the bread pudding was very egg-y and not too sweet.

The atmosphere is very open and vibrant. Nice little patio too. The food was good, but not memorable. The service was pretty poor, both understaffed and undertrained. Also, they didn't give us our opentable points even though we checked in under our reservation.

Valet staff is good and efficient.

This is one of the best designed restaurants I have ever seen.  I just love being inside that building.  The service is also great.  I have been for lunch and dinner and I wasn't blown away with the food either time, but it was good.  This is an amazing place to dine if you're looking for cool, urban, trendy ambiance.

My favorite place to dine in Atlanta. It's the perfect fusion restaurant. The menu changes daily. Love that!  Definitely a hip and trendy spot. Always great food. Definitely on the pricey side. Great place to be adventurous and try some new flavors and taste. This is definitely a higher end place so be prepared to spend some money.

This was the perfect place for a much needed date night with my boyfriend. When you work hard all week long there is nothing better than receiving top notch service and delicious food.

Our waiter, Dwayne, was absolutely amazing. He really catered to us while making us feel like he was just hanging out with us. I mentioned to my boyfriend that it was odd that the decor and the menu were both so upscale and the staff dressed in T-shirts and jeans. I think it is definitely a part of their charm.

Now let's get to the food!!!
The salmon chips really are as amazing as everyone claims them to be. The scallops with the Gouda grits are just mind blowing and the tiramisu with the amaretto ice cream...definitely the perfect way to end a meal. Oh and by the way, when you say you want your steak cooked medium well, they actually cook it medium well!!!! No tough chewy meat here!!!

I highly, highly recommend this place and I am already planning on returning.

I went here as a part of a group for an investigators meeting.  The service was excellent, the food was great, and the cocktails were outstanding.  The atmosphere is high energy and very chic....just the kind of place that I would love to go back to if I go to Atlanta again.

Excellent food with lively atmosphere and great service.   Both times I've eaten here, the food was great.   The salmon chips appetizer are not to be missed.  And the pork chop dish I had was the best one I've had in two years.   It can be a bit loud, especially when there is a live band playing.  And the one big drawback is that one walks out with clothes smelling of burning wood, like you've been in the middle of a campfire.  But it's well worth it.

Smashing cocktails for this thirsty girl looking to unwind from the week.  The salmon chips, loaded with short smoked salmon, chipotle cream cheese, capers, and red onion were a welcomed original appie that excited me for what was to come.  I ordered the bistro steak because of the chimichurri; coupled with the smooth herb whipped potatoes and green beans, it was sensational.

The environment was edgy with the open kitchen in the center of the space, the open wall leading to an outdoor patio, and the great live jazz trio.

Very good food and service. I had the brisket and my wife had the scallops. We shared and both were excellent. For appetizers, we had calamari and ceviche. The ceviche was nice on a warm evening. We read that the salmon chips were really good, but it seemed like too much for an appetizer for only two. We had a seat just inside the "loading" doors which was perfect - watching the sunset. The patio would have been too warm. After sunset, the patio is best.

Food and drinks were outstanding. The atmosphere is definitely industrial funky-chic...though be prepared to wash your clothes and hair immediately upon returning home because you will smell like you just finished cooking a barbecue for 200 people.

Here is our warning. DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES GO TO THIS RESTAURANT IF YOU DON'T HAVE YOUR OWN CAR. This is not a taxi-friendly area and if you are in Buckhead you are facing a $35-50 cab fare each way for an agonizing 6 mile ride that takes about 45 minutes during the dinner-time rush hour. We were mighty unhappy with our meeting planner for sending 8 of us in two cabs for such a long way when the spectacular Seven Lamps restaurant was right under our noses here in Buckhead (their food was every bit as good and their service was far more friendly).

So we arrive and the place is half empty and the first 4 of our group of 8 walk in and the hostess refused to seat them until the second cab arrived (it took our cabbie 15 minutes longer to get there...go figure). The place was EMPTY and they made the first 4 stand around the hostess desk (no tables or anything) until we walked in the door and at which time they determined they could escort us to the table a few feet away that was sitting there empty waiting for us (we had a reservation). Very uppity and uncool hostess folks. The manager was nice and checked in with us on our food which was, as I said very very good but the hostess station staff was horrible.

The night ended as poorly as it started when we tried to get TWO cabs to come to get us. Our first group escaped after only 5-10 minutes but our second group waited another 30 minutes. The "valet" dudes were so overwhelmed getting cars and they had no interest in those of us needing cabs and the aforementioned not-so-great hostesses had said "the valet will get you a cab" and when we finally said we were still waiting for a cab they shrugged their shoulders and said they didn't know anything about it...yes, we were just standing there for 30 minutes because we liked hanging out in a driveway in a bad neighborhood watching valet dudes park cars. A couple of guys needed a cab after us and they actually flipped one of the hostesses (yep them again) a bunch of cash and she ran and got her car and last we heard they were getting her to drive them to wherever their hotel was.

Anyway, if I was local I would definitely come here again (and not wear my best clothes because of the smell) but this is not a place for out-of-towners without cars...just the way it works. I realize this place doesn't own the cab business but we travel throughout the country and know that the best restaurants have hostesses who work to ensure taxis are waiting for their customers. BTW this was a Thursday night and it was not packed or busy in the restaurant or in the city.

Three out of four of us were from out of town, and our friendly waitress enlightened us of the fact that Two Urban Licks is Atlanta's #1 eating destination (next to some other place that I can't remember, but apparently it didn't count because it really wasn't a "restaurant").  I had mighty high expectations upon entering this cool, industrial chic location, which reminded me a lot of hip hot spots in NYC.  We were seated indoors, but within reach of the outdoor patio.  The setup is large and offers a nice view of, well, not much.  It's sort of in a secluded lot with not much of any view save the Bocce ball court hanging to the left of the patio.  Either way, this place is great for groups, not so much for an intimate dinner-date.

That said, the food is pretty decent, though some dishes shine while others are left lacking some refinement.  A definite MUST is the salmon chips which were crispy and delicate, full of fresh salmon and a great, refreshing start to the meal.  It was probably my favorite bite of the night.  I went with a chicken entree, and the serving size is embarrassingly large.  It proved nearly impossible to finish.  Though the portion was large, the chicken was just a tad dry, though I didn't really mind because the flavors were enjoyable, but the bf ordered the same dish, and all he kept remarking on was the dryness of the chicken.  The only side this entree came with, was a bowl of sadly mediocre mac-n-cheese.

Prices are slightly high, with entrees in the twenty-thirty double digits, as well, cocktails and drinks are kind of pricey too, yet nothing during that dinner truly stood out as revolutionary (except the salmon chips, of course).

    3.5 Stars.

Another suggestion from a GA resident...
3 stars is based on the chicken, wine, ambiance alone b/c if I had to rate on the waiter it would be a 1 star!

I like the setup...interior decor has a lot of character. I could see it being a cool night time spot etc...Was pretty live on a Sunday evening.

The wait was 45m so we opted to sit by the bar. The bartender/waiter was NOT inviting at all. He came off like we were a bother! NO hi you doing, I am so n so, todays specials are etc. He str8 up asked what can I get you. SMH

Anyway, we ordered beef empanadas, which was pretty good.
entrée- roasted herb chicken w/ mac n cheese. Chicken was pretty good...juicy and filling.
Mac n cheese was VERY BLAH. I would not order again if I return.

Had a glass of wine, paid the bill and cut!

It was a wonderful enjoyment last night! The food, the service, the atmosphere. As we were having a celebrating event, the server was sweet to bring a surprise and being so nice & cheerful the entire time.

As to food, I personally like Salmon chip, the brisket, and the duck! Salmon chip is mouthful yet fresh and light. The brisket is soft with appropriate favor. The duck is the best with crispy outside and tenderness inside.

The food size is more than sufficient. If you are not hungry and would like to well use the money, I would suggest ordering 3 appetizers to be shared by 2, and you will still feel your paints getting tight!

When researching some of "the best" restaurants in Atlanta, Two Urban Licks sometimes falls by the wayside, and it absolutely shouldn't. Every meal I have had here has been spectacular. Add in great service, a patio and bocce on the beltline, and a cool breeze...I'm in heaven. I chose TUL for Mother's Day brunch as I was excited that they were started brunch and wanted to see what they offered. Man was it busy! I was glad I got reservations in a week in advance. The staff was very kind and brought drinks out quickly. The appetizers look a long time, but the staff made up for it (explain further on). We got the brioche beignets and the bacon cheddar scone with whipped brie. That brie was fantastic, cheese without a cheese consistency (mind blown). So worth getting! We also got the salmon chips, which were super delicious, it was a perfect start to the meal. The salty chip, briny capers, and smooth salmon all played well together and the texture of the chips was perfect.

As an entree I got the crispy oyster benedict. I was surprised that the oysters weren't fried until crispy, but it made the meal so much better. They were still briny and succulent while having a crunchy coating. This is much better than the usual over-fried variety. The poached eggs were cooked spot on and the creole hollandaise gave the dish the spice it needed. The potatoes on the side were also delicious.

I love that they offer $1 High Life ponies with any Bloody Mary, that's a steal! We ended up getting dessert: lemon cheesecake, raspberry creme brulee, and strawberry rhubarb cobbler. My favorite of the three was the lemon cheesecake, it was mild and creamy. The creme brulee was a standard creme brulee with raspberries in it. It was delicious but I expected more raspberry flavor. The cobbler was amazing as well.

Now, what makes this place exceptional is the service. Since the appetizers took a long time to come out, the server made sure they were comped on the check. The next day, the manager of Two called me to apologize that we were in the group of tables that had experiences lapses in service. She wanted to make sure to know that's not how they run their business and asked me to come back under my reservation as she put a note down for me. Super classy and exceptional care right there. Even if the meal was terrible, I would come back just for that service.

The 3 stars are because the general manager actually called me the day after I dined here to apologize for the less-than-stellar performance given by the kitchen and waitstaff.  Mother's Day Brunch. I should've known better. Mom would've been just as happy with my overdone toast, runny scrambled eggs, and a homemade mimosa. Instead, we were seated by less-than-welcoming hostesses and made to wait over an hour for our food. I get it. It was Mother's Day, the place was packed, and things happen.  That's life, however, my mother-in-law is diabetic and took her insulin too soon, expecting to eat within 30 minutes of being seated. For fear of a hypoglycemic crisis, our waiter came to the rescue with a biscuit that resembled the hardtack that soldiers reportedly ate during the Civil War. He also threw in some ciabatta bread with chili olive oil/balsamic which was nice.  Poor guy--he was actually a good waiter--he just couldn't help that the kitchen was in disarray.

When our food finally came, it was good--nothing to rave about--but good.  I ordered the lobster omelet--not too much lobster but A LOT of ramps that were extremely crunchy and hard.  It was topped with a tomato sauce and dollop of pesto--it sounded from the menu like it should be a taste sensation, but it fell a bit flat. Meanwhile, the potatoes that accompanied it were the kind of spicy that makes you want to scream and gulp down a glass of water.  I wasn't sure how it all fit together, to be honest. Other dishes we ordered included the brisket empanada (stellar flavor...the best thing I tasted that day), chicken fried steak (father-in-law enjoyed tremendously), and the TWO burger (looked REALLY greasy...but apparently tasted good).

When all was said and done, the waiter gave us a free entree as compensation for our long wait which we appreciated. I told the manager I spoke to that I'd be willing to give TWO two tries--and I sincerely mean that. They were having a bad day like a lot of us do and I just so happened to find myself in the middle of the mess this time around. Next time, I think I'll skip brunch and try the dinner and drinks like a lot of the celebrities that visit ATL do according to US Weekly. If it's good enough for Owen Wilson and Paul Rudd, it should be good enough for me.

Food wasn't anything to write home about; "clean" plates were greasy and the table looked like it had been wiped down with a rag that has never seen sterile water- wait staff was kind but a little slow and the hostesses were unbearably rude and pretentious for working in such a mediocre restaurant. I received several snide comments and a lot of up-talking from two women who were hired to seat people at tables - I simply asked if they could confirm if any of our party had arrived and they acted as if I was asking them to build a fucking rocket and go to the moon...nothing to ever have an attitude about. ever....especially when it's YOUR JOB. On top of their terrible service they absolutely smelled of cheap cigarettes and made the entire waiting area smell of them as well (is that less personal yelp?...it's the truth).

basically, this is a T.G.I. Fridays without all the quirky shit on the walls instead replaced with terrible "modern" decor worthy of an all-you-can-eat buffet joint. overcrowded with a weird mix of people (trailer park to hipsters), the parking lot is a labyrinth and again, the food is absolutely nothing special. If you've lived your entire life in the suburbs and have never traveled anywhere outside of the state of Georgia, this might be considered "fancy" but if you've had a meal in a fine restaurant in a city with a population greater than 2 million, this is a dump and you'll regret your decision.

    ...those hostesses are awful.

They have very decent food, the salmon chips are amazing, the watermelon salad is a must have and the oyster is just divine. What really surprised me is the scallops, the dish is so well cooked that it actually taste like steamed egg. The steak and duck is decent but didn't blow me away. Overall, I will feel safe to go back to this place.
PS: definitely try to dine outside on the patio because it can be very noisy inside.

    Fairly decent experience here.

You're definitely paying in part for a trendy, hipster atmosphere cuz the food alone does NOT warrant the price.  But I get it...sometimes we want to chill and eat and feel cool.

Food IMHO was mainly B tier.  Nothing earth shattering but at least competently executed.  Entrées were the least memorable.  If I went again I'd probably just nosh on appetizers.  The mussels were the best part of our meal.

Will probably not come back for quite some time as there are so many options to try and this place just didn't blow me away.

I have been to Two Urban Licks twice and enjoyed it tremendously both times. I've gone there on a date and although the environment can be a little on the loud side, our date still felt intimate.

I am in love with the infused alcohol they make on site and the drinks that are offered on the menu. Truly delicious. And although I've only been there a handful of times, without a doubt I say get the salmon chips as an appetizer and the brisket as a main. You won't be disappointed.

On my last visit I had the watermelon salad and wish I had that salad in front of my face right now!

I can't give this five stars, because the food was not as amazing as I had hoped. However, the food was pretty darn good. But the environment was what makes this whole restaurant experience worthwhile, and the reason I will probably go back. It's not exactly a convenient location but once you get there it's really a cool atmosphere. Inside a warehouse, kitchen right in the middle of the restaurant.  Definitely a great date spot, business dinner, or night out with friends. Good for anything really.

My only complaint is that it is valet-only, and the line can get backed up...

I had the luxury of dining here for our company's annual Christmas dinner with our clients. We had to make reservations for our 20+ member party to be seated in the courtyard at the water feature table and let me just tell you... it was totally worth it. It's absolutely beautiful and our clients/guests loved it! Very impressive.

We ordered a bunch of different appetizers which consisted of: salmon chips, calamari, spring rolls, and fried green tomatoes. We had these pre-ordered to arrive at our table as soon as our guests arrived. However, with everyone socializing and conversing, the appetizers ended up sitting out for awhile (untouched) so they got cold and didn't taste fresh.

Everyone ordered their own entrees from the menu and I ended up ordering the bistro steak. The bistro steak was absolutely delicious! Had I not been with clients, I would've devoured up the entire thing, but to stay classy, I only had a few nibbles and boxed the rest home. ;) The steak was so tender and flavorful. I highly recommend trying the bistro steak if you are planning a trip to TUL.

Whew! I'm getting hungry thinking about Two Urban Licks. I actually crave their food every week, especially the Salmon Chips. This restaurant is GREAT! I have absolutely NO complaints. From the ambiance to the food to the services, everything is just spectacular. This restaurant is a hidden treasure for sure. It is a little hidden but just keep in mind it sits in the back of the complex/plaza it's located in.

SUPER cool spot, and SUPER cool experience from start to finish- and even in between!

The atmosphere- chic, hip, trendy, and sleek. Everyone MUST valet, even if you have a beater (hooptie), so be prepared for your grand entrance. You WILL be making one. You roll right up to the door, real important like, and everyone sees you. Hop out, swag walk in, and check in because you're a YELPER, and OF COURSE YOU have a reservation. POW!  We were a party of 9 and were seated about 15 minutes after we arrived.  The check-in ladies were incredibly friendly!

The place is gorgeous! It really is BEYOND words, so I won't even try anymore.

It does have an open kitchen, and that kitchen is smoky.  You may smell like smoke when you leave. The smoke may get in your eyes.  The air also blows really hard in some sections, and if you're under a stream, be prepared to be uncomfortable.  They can't turn it down because then the smoke will fill the whole loft. So...

The manager lady, in an off white blouse, was at the door when I came in (impressive!), and she came to speak with us about the air (doubly impressive). She said she wanted to make sure we were happy. We did get it all worked out, by the way.

Now, the servers were great, personality wise, but slow with the service.  I mean, it's not like we were out for fast food, so I guess I have no real reason to balk on this point.

The food is to DIE FOR.  The BRISKET melts in your mouth, the mac and cheese is some of the BEST I've EVER had, those salmon chip appetizers are scrumptious (bring some GUM for your BREATH, though!), just all the food is worth it, and TASTY!

Drinks: Meh. VERY, VERY, SMALL, full of ice, and not  potent. You could skip these, or just have one to have one, if you must. Hey, these folks can't be perfect, can they? No, but they come close. Again, just skip the alcohol.

Overall: we had an INCREDIBLE time!!

I spoke with a great guy on the phone before I went named Dwight, who had me sold before I even got through the door!  These folks UNDERSTAND customer service, they LIKE what they do, they WANT you to come back, and they take PRIDE in their work- it shows!

It's like they're throwing a party, and YOU'RE the special invited guest!!

    SUPERB!

These reviews hit it dead on! I ate dinner here on Valentine's Day with my boyfriend. I didn't expect the valet parking, but they were nice and fast. They even ran to the car to fetch my boyfriend's wallet when he forgot it.

The food was delicious. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. We had the calimari, brisket, and the steak. I will definitely be back.

It is a great, trendy, hip place. The smoke became a little much and made my eyes start to water. I think it may be better to go in warmer months so that they will have the patio open. Overall it was a wonderful experience.

The place is amazing. The atmosphere is great, there are not many places like this is Atlanta. Trendy.

The tuna tartare makes a great appetizer, good to enjoy at your table or at the bar while waiting for a table.

Try the Bistro Steak. It is delicious and cooked to perfection.

Fills up, be sure to make a reservation. Free Valet Parking. Highly Recommend

Wow 593 reviews (guess mine makes 594 unless someone hits "post" before i finish this).

So really not much more can be added that hasn't already been covered, but I need to write a review as i want to add this place to my first Yelp list.

Think I've eaten everything on the menu seasonal and regular. My go-to is the shaved calamari (usually good), salmon chips (divine), ravioli, Bronzed Scallops and Duck. Stay away from their BBQ chicken or Jerk Chicken. Too many other places in the city do it better to waste your time on their version. Their Big Ass Burger is nice but burgers in this city seem to be as divisive a politics, so I'll stay on the fence with 'nice'.

Space is cool. Husband and I usually bring fam and friends visiting out of town here b'cos it has the wow and cool factor without you having to think too hard about an age or demographic appropriate place to take people.

Can get very noisy and crowded especially at the weekend, when it's the birthday dinner hot-spot. You'll see all walks of Atlanta life in there so you'll have plenty of good people watching!

If you need to pee, the restrooms can be confusing. Just check who's "waiting" around the area before you as it can look like people are part of the kitchen staff. Pull on a few doors if it seems like people are taking too long. Usual someone's not in there if the light is blue or pink. Can't remember which.

Be prepared to pull your car up the ramp and let the Valet park it. Can't stand the cheap *ss folks that almost cause a pile-up trying to park their own car in the tiny parking lot. Please check your car can make it up the ramp. We once witnessed a dude have his car die on the ramp, hop out, throw his keys to the valet and slow bop into the restaurant. Funniest sh*t ever.

Anyhoo 2UL is one of our Atlanta staples.

We were there for a bachelorette party and I wasn't impressed.  The food was good enough, but our server was rude and kept on overlooking me because I wasn't ordering alcohol.  Our drinks went dry several times and they delivered the wrong food to us. It was almost pitch black with a little red lighting and I get the desire to have the trendy feel,  but I couldn't really read the menu and it was so loud I had to scream at the top of my lungs for the person next to me to hear me.
The price was way too high for the quality and experience and we will not be going back.

When I moved to Atlanta five years ago, this was one of the first fancy places I had dinner. It felt edgy with its counterintuitive menu, ottomans for seats and stack of wine barrels. After a handful more visits, their solid food comes to mind ahead of the restaurant's stylishness.

I've had great meals and average meals here, and my most recent one last night was in the former category. Our appetizer balanced the soft, flaky and moist texture of the smoked salmon with the crunch of spicy homemade chips. My caesar salad was subpar (oniony dressing and the romaine wasn't well chopped), but that was the only off note of the dinner. Their bistro steak was seared well and the chimichurri was a great accent. The cracker-jack inspired sundae for dessert was actually the highlight of the meal, and I'm not even a lover of sweets. Fresh salt caramel was quite a treat for someone like me, who's more accustomed to the candy-bar variety.

Adding to the fun atmosphere, every table in the spacious restaurant was taken, a live band's music hovered just below conversation-level and a couple dozen walk-ins were waiting for tables by the host stand, even at 9:30 when we left. Our waiter was attentive, knowledgeable and had some spunk.

Some reviewers huff and puff about needing a minimum number of visits before they'll review a place _ and I usually don't bother. But this is one I've been to a half-dozen times, and am happy to give them four stars.

A lot of things about Two are great...the food, the fact that it's in a revamped warehouse, the overall ambiance, the view of the Atlanta skyline. I keep reading that the patio and outdoor space are great as well, but have never experienced it because it's been too cold the two times I've visited. A few things were not so great on my last visit that brings my rating to just a middle-of-the-line OK.

Starting the night by pulling up and around the valet ramp in front of a nondescript warehouse is fun and unique. As soon as you step inside, it smells wonderful, like a BBQ joint. It's great...until you're an hour in and realize that that smell and smoke is going to stick to you and your clothes for days. I glanced up sporadically at the high ceiling and could always see smoke from the open kitchen passing through the beams of light. It's kind of like dining in a nightclub except that it's a tad quieter, but not by much.

Like I said earlier, the food is great. For our entrees, we had the bistro steak and the duck. The warm ciabatta bread with the chili oil + balsamic sauce was delicious. I think I could have eaten an order of the salmon chips appetizer as my meal. My bistro steak was cooked to medium-rare perfection. I had just a piece of the duck and it tasted great.

Where Two fell a bit short was service. With a reservation, I had to wait 10-15 minutes to be seated. Fine. Understandable. Our waitress seemed to know the menu well and was attentive...at first. A long while after finishing up the bread, and still without our appetizer, she brought out our steak knives for the steak and duck. She then noticed our table was a bit empty and asked if our salmon chips had come out. We told her they hadn't. Soon after, a food runner brought over the appetizer. We devoured the chips quickly. Moments after our table was cleared, a runner mistakenly brought over another order to our table (which we turned away). This happened again after our entrees had come out. You would think someone would get rid of the ticket saying "salmon chips - table x."

In cleaning up our appetizer plates, our waitress dropped and shattered a plate. Fine. That happens. My main gripe came when we noticed that there wasn't Andouille sausage accompanying the duck, as described in the menu. We asked the waitress and she insisted that, "Oh, it's in the mix. It's just not one of the main ingredients so it's not as noticeable." Hmmmm, okay...she probably knows better than us...she works here...we continue eating. 15 minutes later, toward the end of our meal, a couple gets sat next to us. Our waitress is explaining the menu to them, when I overhear, "the fish tonight is cobia," then..."and we're out of the Andouille sausage tonight." What the F? Not cool.

Two is a fine place. Good food, cool environment, hit or miss service. Probably won't be rushing back anytime soon.

I hope that I will be able to find the words to describe how absolutely amazing Two Urban Licks is. Everything from the room to the food to the soundtrack to the service was exactly what any great dining experience should be like.

You drive through a bit of a maze to get to the deluxe valet station before you enter the restaurant.  The appearance of the main room is beautiful. The giant mural to the left is amazing, the kitchen in the middle is memorizing, and the view of Atlanta off of the patio is perfection. You are also greeted with a medley of smells that will put you in the mood to dine. We were seated in an obnoxiously comfortable booth.  At one point I had to stop the conversation just to talk about how comfortable I was.

Onto the food! We ordered a "thief" of pino noir.  I had never heard of this size before, but basically it is 5 glasses of wine. Then they brought mana from the heavens.  Ok, it was just sourdough with oil and vinegar but it was really really good bread. We ordered a small plate of the goat cheese ravioli as well as the spinach salad.  The ravioli were creamy and herbaceous and the salad was full of interestingly delightful flavors.  For my main course, I went with the bronzed scallops which is apparently one of their most popular dishes.  It was three plump scallops with Gouda cheese grits covered with a tomato broth and a bit of pico de gallo. The scallops were perfectly cooked, the grits were up to my snobby southern standards, and the broth was the perfect addition to the dish.

We also ordered the dark chocolate mouse for desert. It was aaaaaaamazing. The mouse was light but rich. The small bit of cake at the base as well as the strawberry sauce made it decadent.  After desert they also presented us with four lovely lollipops- a great whimsical touch to leave the customers with.

Our servers were pleasant, helpful, and interesting.  They explained the menu really well, chatted with us, and I loved how they called each other their friends. They kept our water glasses full and left a few carafes at our table in case we got low.  Our food arrived with impeccable timing.  I didn't feel rushed and I didn't feel like we were waiting for ever between courses. Two Urban Licks is a superstar restaurant and I can't wait to return.

I've been lucky enough now to go here twice, and each time I thoroughly enjoyed myself! This place is absolutely fantastic. My only warning would be that it IS difficult to get into in the sense of the small parking-lot maze that you are required to traverse to actually find the restaurant -- but let's put it this way. Many restaurants survive based on "street traffic," or people walking or driving by and stopping in. For Two Urban Licks, that possibility is virtually nonexistent, and yet at busy times it is STILL a hopping joint! That's just how good this place is.

-- The service has been truly stellar both times I've gone, though both servers could not have been more different in personality. Absolutely amazing to have such top-notch service.

    HIGHLIGHTS:
-- Sad to say, I cannot eat fish, so I can't try the salmon chips that everyone else raved about. I absolutely LOVED the empanadas, though; they are not to be missed! They were the perfect combination of spicy, tangy, and crisp. I could not believe them. I had them both times I went.

-- The brisket! Someone else got this and I was just about ready to steal their plate. It was meltingly good, and even better with the mac and cheese. Something about the combination of the two just made everything more spectacular.

-- I can also vouch for the pork shoulder and the bbq chicken. Amazing!

-- My table mates got the popcorn sundae and were not really impressed. Apparently it was good, but the only "popcorn" was 3-4 pieces scattered over the top. On the other hand, the donuts with chocolate sauce were absolutely divine. I saw the cupcakes going by but did not try one, they looked absolutely adorable! Definitely going to have to try some of the other desserts here.

-- I have to say, I also loved the drinks here. They were really creative, really fun, and really very good. My brother's favorite is one that instead of ice has a ball of mango ice cream at the bottom; I enjoyed ALL of the others that I tried.
