This is a prefectly inoffensive place to grab a meal. You will have a perfectly adequate experience. What you get here is proximity to the beach, and that's reflected in the prices.

Would love it more if brunch/breakfast options were available later in the day.

Husband liked his burger, cooked perfectly. The shrimp on my Caesar were very good but the salad itself was wilted. Service was slow. Drinks were overpriced and not very good. Meh is the right choice.

We had Lobster Rolls, open faced steak sandwich and the French onioin soup. All were very good, especially the Lobster Roll. Fries were cold but it was a cold day and we were outside. Nice outdoor seating and good food in Lauderdale-By-The-Sea.

The best lobster rolls I've ever had. Incredible. Great service, too, and a very short walk to the gorgeous beach!

I have to start out with a confession that not all the food qualifies for 5 stars, but the fish & chips was amazingly crisp & not greasy. The Cole slaw was equally delicious & French fries were good. The major fish sandwich was good but had too much bread. The fish was fresh but
Jerk seasoning didn't have much flavor.

Location, location, location and has the food, service and ambience to go with it. Great beachside spot! Breakfast on the patio is always a hit after walking on the beach. Bar next to restaurant is also a great place to meet friends and have a drink, Sushi next to the bar is also fresh and mouth watering! This place has something for everyone! Oh did I mention live entertainment in the street on Friday night?! Can't beat it!

Food was decent for breakfast. Service was pretty poor though the place wasn't crowded.

Very nice place to grab breakfast or lunch in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea.

It's always great discovering places like this...and a better option (less touristy too) than the Aruba Grill next door.

Very friendly service and reasonable prices here. Highly recommended.

ate breakfast here recently and would recommend it. I liked their outdoor seating area. Our food was good, and reasonably priced. Especially liked their mimosas, and they were cheap. $3-something if I remember right. Yummy way to start the day!

Best breakfast in Ft Lauderdale area! Yankee fans beware, owner is from Mass and is die hard Red Sox fan! Will give it 5 stars if the owner hangs some Yankee gear in the restaurant!

Located right on the corner of Melvin I. Anglin Square one block from Lauderdale-by-the-Sea's Aruba Beach, one of the very best beaches in the area, is The Village Grille, a really good little restaurant with perfect people watching sidewalk seating as well as indoor and bar area tables and stools. The menu is extensive and complete. They serve breakfast, which with a Memosa gets the day off to a good start...besides you really can't drink all day unless you start in the morning..., lunch and a really good dinner; even a decent Oyster's Rockefeller.

During peak season it gets crowded quickly so you could easily find yourself on a wait list, but that generally indicates and serves as a testament to the quality and taste of their food offerings. Besides the food, one of the best things about The Village Grille is that the service is usually friendly, polite and professional with a totally relax, casual atmosphere.

Perfect for a quick cheap breakfast before going to the beach. I had the 2/2/2. It was two pancakes, two eggs, and two sausage or bacon. The bacon was a little crispy but I wasn't specific so that was likely my fault. My friend got the sausage links and she said they were perfect. For 7 bucks a person I was more than happy with the breakfast and the constantly refilled coffee.

The outdoor seating was great and I loved that their liberal dog policy resulted in an 11 week old golden coming to visit me every few minutes from the neighboring table. It was adorable.

The food was so delicious! And the server was very funny and had a GREAT PERSONALITY! And the shrimp on the Bloody Mary was a very large prawn. A good experience all the way around. A++

Other than the food being very good, the entire staff is here for you. Super friendly and a very welcoming atmosphere. Thats the fifth star right there. Cheers!

Food was much better than the last time I had eaten there, which had been quite a while. I was impressed, service and food was 4 stars. Sorry forgot about this review, been a while, but have been back since, still excellent choice!

Yeah, I 4-starred it! Many times I've seen folks waiting outside for a go at their breakfast. This time I chose to wait, and I'm now waiter...

I had a bagel, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich and the fruit cup for breakfast and it was fantastic. Let's begin with the bacon: big, prepared to my liking, abundant, and...wait for it....Hickory Smoked! Yummo!

The fruit cup was impressive via the freshness of the component parts: strawberries, blueberries, pineapple and more. I didn't like the vanilla yogurt served in the retail packaging as it wasn't easy to maneuver my spoon into the plastic cup. They should have taken the extra step to serve the yogurt.

Still it was a rousing success. I sampled one of my companions waffles and that satisfied too.

Can't wait to go back.

Smoked fish dip was really good. We sat outside and really enjoyed eveything about the place. Not near as pricey as some made it out to be.

Great place to eat when you're in Lauderdale by the Sea. It was a little pricey but the ambience was worth it. I had Oysters Rockefeller and my husband had a burger, which was apparently delicious. They didn't rush us after we finished eating, which was a big plus. The waiter was really courteous and we got great service. It felt like we were vacationing in north Florida or something, the place was so chill. Even on a Saturday night, it wasn't too crowded or annoying.
We then went next door to the bar area to watch the live act (Rick Bauer Band) and had a great time. We'll definitely be back.

I broke my rule of no drinking in Broward! I came up this way to meet an acquaintance from the 305 who moved to the 561. Having visited this place solo a few weeks back, I suggested she meet me in the 954. http://youtu.be/cvrKzmkd… OK, I'm not trying to sound like Ludacris shouting out area codes..

Anyway, after said friend and I parked (even found a couple of convenient metered spots across the street) we arrived at the hostess stand where we were promptly offered an outside table, great for taking in the beach breezes and enjoying an awesome, strong mojito! Even though we just ordered drinks, our waiter was friendly and attentive. It was almost easy to overlook the mojito could have had another little bit of sugar. The drink gave us just enough a buzz to....

Oh well, I'll have to see the next time I'm back this way for dinner.

My wife and I have eaten here multiple times, and I have NEVER had a negative experience. I have eaten a different item each time and all were great. The service has always been good, and thier bacon is off the chain. I reccomend it to everyone. The atmosphere is great and it's right on the beach. Perfect for brunch and then a beach stroll. Love it.

Went there for my birthday and wasn't really impressed. Had to wait several minutes for anyone to realize we were waiting. Anyhow, the staff was extremely nice and friendly.

Sat outside initially until the bar next door started getting extremely loud and filled with outdoor seaters smoking away. Moved inside after 10 mins.

The bread and half chicken ordered was nice. The cod was over cooked and the mashed potatoes tasted like they were reheated from a batch a few days old. The only thing that appeared cooked to order was the veggies accompanied with the dishes.

In a whole, way to pricey for the what you get. I believe my bill was around $62 plus tip after two glasses of wine and a mediocre meal.

A fine place to have breakfast. Nothing to write home about food-wise.

Great location but the food is mediocre at best. We went when it wasn't very busy and still the food came out cold. How is that possible?

This review is short as I don't want to totally bash them but I really don't have anything nice to say either...

YUM. We found you 6 years ago We bring everyone here. Best breakfast, truly. I don't go out for breakfast and this is my treat. My husband has his weekly Friday buddies meet there for breakfast and Debbie and the staff are the most friendly, efficient and welcoming new "friends" Lunch and dinner are all fabulous, delicious, economical and clean. Don't hesitate!!! Just GO.

This was a first for me...the level of rudeness from the "hostess" was beyond description.

The night was cold and our party of six regretted having accepted to sit at the only table available which was outside. When a few tables inside cleared, we asked to be moved. The hostess refused because she said those tables were at another server's station...so we had to finish our meal outside, in the cold, while a perfectly good table inside remained unoccupied.

This place serves average food in a touristy area. They don't need the locals' business; and they won't be getting mine ever again. Also, parking is a nightmare so there is no reason to ever go to this place.

Situated in the cute cozy beach community of Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, this eatery is mere feet from the beach and the blue waters of the Atlantic ocean. Despite the horrific Florida economy, this little beach community seems to be holding its own - there are a number of seaside eateries doing a healthy lunch business with lots of late-model cars being valeted.*

For my first meal in FLL, I met up with Miss Red and his hunky husband, Big M. Miss Red is one of my two BFFs in the world - yup, I'm a lucky effer for having two BFFs. Miss Red's husband is definitely sexy, having a butch demeanor and was a former college assistant AD. His big arms don't hurt the eyes, either.

Greeted warmly by the hostess, she didn't bat an eye when we asked if we could sit at the shady round patio table closest to the beach. The interior is pretty and cooly refined yet doesn't make you uncomfortable if you come in beachwear at lunch.

Miss Red and I each had the grilled chicken sandwich ($8.95) and asked for mashed potatoes as the side. Both came out looking lovely - just the right blend of soft bread, hot chicken, cool lettuce and tomato to go with the warm sunshine and ocean breezes. Big M also had the chicken sandwich but opted for the cole slaw instead. He wolfed it down so obviously no complaints.

Our server was cheerful and accommodating - she answered all of our menu questions and asked me if I preferred Dijon or yellow mustard when I asked for mustard to go with my sandwich. I think being in this close proximity to the water and sand easily made everyone happier to work here as well as to eat here. Definitely not a bad thing.

* If you don't want to be a baller and valet, parking is a hot commodity on this stretch of the beach. Bring lots of quarters to feed the meter once you score a spot. On this visit, I made it rain: rain quarters, that is. Blame it on the tough economy. Two-hour limit on meter parking.

Great Atmosphere... the bar tenders are good to go... food is 7 out of 10. Live Music, overall a good place to grab a drink with friends on the weekend.

We had a nice brunch here over the holiday weekend. There was a short wait but we were seated in less than the estimated 15min. The breakfast menu is good, most standard breakfast options are offered. The banana nut pancakes were super tempting but I behaved and went with a veggie omelet. The omelet was a little disappointing, quite dry and overcooked. Everyone else liked everything they ordered. The bacon looked awesome and the home-fried potatoes were tasty. The prices were cheap and the food decent, I would come back for another shot and next time I'm gonna try the banana pancakes!

Great little place for well-prepared food by the beach. Just because it's casual food, doesn't mean it has to be subpar cooking and this place works it. The potato salad is exquisite! Tastes homemade and fresh. The burgers and sandwiches are huge and delicious. The service is great, especially for a restaurant that a lot of tourists probably frequent. I'll be back to try more.

A great place for breakfast near the beach!

The wait was fifteen minutes. Bring shades or ask for a table inside because there are no umbrellas and the sun is intense in the summer.

The food is delicious! I had eggs, pancakes with bacon and homefries. The eggs were fluffy and the pancakes were light. Even get a mimosa as it's the same price as an OJ.

The atmosphere is hip and you can exit stage left and head straight to the beach!

This has to be my favorite restaurants on this beach. Let me tell you way: First, the service is awesome! Don't know if it's me, but the staff knows me and my hubby by name. Every time we go to the restaurant, we are greeted with a hello followed my our names.

The food is also awesome for beach food. I've eaten dinner and breakfast here and was satisfied each time. My favorite dinner is the shrimp scampi, and I love the hash browns for breakfast. Breakfast on Saturdays/Sundays are quite cool because we normally sit outside and people watch(although there may be a wait for a table).

The ambiance is cool and clean (I posted a pic), but it is quite small, but I've never seen it overly crowed. The restaurant is situation on the beach, so there is a cool breeze if you sit outside.

Bottom-line: love the joint.

From the outside, it looks like a pub, but it is really more of a restaurant. Their seafood is fresh and well-prepared. The service is friendly, but the seating is limited, and the place tends to get noisy.

By the way, it is right near the beach, so you can go for a walk on the pier after you eat. Also, on Friday nights, the neighborhood closes off the block and has a big party with lots of people and live music.

Overall, although it has its flaws, like being crowded and noisy, I would definitely go back.
