Another wine bar stumbled upon! Outstanding place. Excellent wine choices. Excellent food and we split a Nutella bruschetta suggested by the waitress. Then had salads for our main course. We went through two bottles of white wine, enjoyed the relaxing vibe and carried on conversations with our waitress as it was a dead hour which we didn't mind. We were heading to the New Now Next Awards after so having the white wine buzz only made our night more enjoyable! We will definitely return!!
Review Source:These guys get it. Â Vintage Enoteca is great neighborhood joint. They have seasonal changes on the menu so the food always interesting and flavor driven. Â Â Deviled Eggs are deliciouso. Â So are the olives, the flatbreads and pasta. Â Â Happy hour is a bargain and should not be missed. Â The service is friendly and accommodating though not 100% organized 100% of the time.
Review Source:We had reservations here for a party of 6. Â The place is small and cute. Â Our server was nice and attentive as well. Â Our meal started off well with deviled eggs (the caviar ones are better than the bacon), but it got progressively saltier. Â The mac and cheese was rich and creamy. The mushroom pasta was slightly salty, but still good. Â Then, the farro was saltier from the amount of feta in it or whatever was mixed in it. Â Lastly, we got the zucchini ribbons, which were so salty that we couldn't even eat it. Â I don't like sending things back, but someone in our group mentioned it to the waitress. Â She seemed surprised and said, "I just had it and it's normally delish." Â When she brought back the dish again, it was just as salty if not more so? Â I'm not sure if this was the chef's way of giving us the finger or that's just how things should taste. Â The waitress took the dish off our bill, which we didn't expect but it was a nice gesture.
Review Source:I so wanted to like this place because it's super cute and the service was amazing but the food was not so spectacular. I came here with six girls for a birthday. We ordered a lot of different things and nothing really impressed us. The one thing they had that was delicious was a fruity beer my friend ordered. We all loved it but they only had one bottle left. So sad.
Review Source:Very impressive with a decent selection of wines to choose from. The service is impeccable and by itself deserves 5 stars. I didn't try any of the food other than their cherry tart dessert, which was pretty good. Overall a great wine bar to try out if you're close by. Plenty of metered street parking in the adjacent area too.
Review Source:Tasty lunch spot for a small bite and cold drink. Â Came here with family after a day at the LA Zoo / Griffith Park and were seated quickly but waited annoyingly long for water/ drink and food orders considering there were only 3 other guests there.
For the quality of food, the prices were reasonable. Â Definitely enjoyed the Bruschetta and Chicken Panini, however they told us that the chef accidentally had burnt our Margarita Pizza and had to make another. Â Unfortunately we didn't get that Pizza until we were ready for the bill. Â No discount on the Pizza at all and an indifferent server.
I've been here a number of times as it's walking distance to my place (score!). I especially like coming here on a week night when it's a little slower. Coming on a Friday night, be sure to make a reservation.
The food is excellent. The wines are great. I've had one less than favorable cider and a friend of mine ordered an espresso that tasted more like a cup of coffee (we asked to confirm it was espresso and it was confirmed). The menu changes seasonally which is nice and refreshing.
The space is small. Perfect for tables of four or less. A perfect place to eat solo as well.
What a great brunch! Â Here's what we ordered:
Bacon-Egg Mac & Cheese (Tasty!!!)
Bruschetta Trio (Brie ... yum; Elvis ... love the plantain style banana; Nutella ... I could have made this at home, so I should have ordered the Linguica instead)
We were still hungry (since the above was pretty small, esp the Bruschetta Trio) so we added on the Breakfast Panini ... so simple yet so flavourful and totally hit the spot!
We washed down our food with 3 ... I mean 4 ... I mean 5 (urh, I lost count) glasses of the Bottomless Blackberry Sangria (which was dangerously delicious, hence having to sleep off the rest of the afternoon).
Will definitely be back, with Pooch in tow, as their outdoor patio is dog friendly! Â And oh, free parking in the back - enter off Curson or Sierra Bonita.
3 1/2 stars
Cute place, with outside seating and a small inside seating. A little dark and casual. I love tapas style so I was pretty excited to check this place out along with their popular dishes I read from yelp.
_Olive Tapenade bruschetta was okay. It was very bland in flavor and the only thing that made it taste okay was the little pieces of olive on top.
_White Bean Hummus bruschetta, the popular dish was not my fave. As I was cutting the bruschetta in half I realized on the bottom the bread was burned. Needless to say I tasted a burned and extra crunchy bread along with the white bean.
_Chicken Liver brushetta was my fave dish. Although the bread were all a little too crunchy the flavor for the chicken liver was there. Although I must say $6 for each is a little overpriced, considering how small they were I was taken back when I saw the size.
_Chicken Salad was good. Good amount of chicken, which was decent, and great that it was not over drenched in sauce. Sprinkled with a ton of parmesan cheese. This is a good entree as well since the chicken filled me up.
_Deviled Eggs, another popular dish was good. But my only negative comment is that there was wayyyyy too much yolk! It was so rich and overwhelming one bite and I was already feeling oozy. Yolk on the bottom of the egg, yolk filled to the top, and yolk in the egg it was yolk crazy. But I like the touch of caviar on top.
_Beef Meatballs, were good. 2 big meatballs. The tomato sauce was good, I dipped some of my chicken from the salad into the sauce, yum
Overall the place is okay, was some improvements it could be a lot better. Maybe I will give it another go.
Love this place. Servers know the wines like the back if their hands, but in an approachable and enjoyable way, not a stuck-up way. Food exceeds expectations for its price range. If you're feeling adventurous get the duck and marmalade pizza. I can't talk enough good about the way-too-often empty patio as a dog owner ether!
Review Source:LOVED Vintage Enoteca! Â I had a list of places I want to hit up in the LA area and most of them don't open until 5 or later on Saturday and I needed a 4pm early dinner to get to my event on time. Â Of COURSE, I yelped it and found Vintage Enoteca with like a billion great reviews and i was sold. Â We arrived about 4pm and there were only two other parties eating and drinking and we got a table next to the window.
We decided to go with trying a few items and ordered the olive tapenade bruschetta, the cheese and salumi plate and the crab mac and cheese. Â The husband ordered a beer, but I went with water on this trip as I was the DD for the night, so I just got a taste.. Â the Mission IIPA was delicious by the way. Â How do I live in San Diego and have never had this beer?
Back to the food, the bruschetta was delicious although VERY salty, but I would have it it again! Â then our cheese and salumi platter came. Â OH YUM-O! Â Three cheeses, speck, and a salami with a jam, a spicy mustard and honey covered Marconi almonds, with toast points. Â We devoured that plate and all of the cheese choices were so tasty. Â My favorite was the Buffalo milk cheese from Italy, but there was a creamy cow's milk and a harder Parmesan type cow's milk as well, both yummy. Â The meats were perfect compliments and taking bites with all of the components together was a wonderful whirl of flavors and textures. Â LOVED IT.
The crab mac and cheese was next and it was really good as well. Â The flavor is nice as it has piquillo peppers in there, but then I found the crab and it was perfect! Â I was worried the peppers would overwhelm the delicate crab flavor, but it was just the right balance. Â VERY good mac and cheese and I've gotten a little burned out on the whole mac and cheese thing, so this stuff was tasty! Â It also comes with mixed greens with Italian dressing and my husband devoured that saying it was so good... must have been the dressing because he usually is an iceberg lettuce kind of guy. Â
Our server was very friendly, attentive and responsive. Â She took care of us with a smile and kept the water glasses filled. Â The ambiance is casual, but with a cool urban feel. Â Very comfortable.
The meal was $40 something before tip.
Overall, great experience. Â Love the small menu with the small plates with the small prices! Â Completely affordable and tasty. Â I concur with my fellow yelpers, eat here.
A little over-rated when it comes to taste. Â Came here last night during happy hour and tried more than half of what they have on the menu. Â Didn't have any wine, just soda.
CONS:
Deviled eggs were too rich, mayo was overwhelming
Meatballs were blah, had to spit out some chunks of fat
Crabmeat Mac & Cheese was salty, the crabmeat was overwhelming so the flavor was awkward with the mac & cheese
PROS:
Pulled pork sliders were yummy, moist and flavorful
Duck flatbread was very interesting, can't quite pinpoint what made it good but the flavors worked well together
There were a number of other things we tried, but not really worth mentioning. Â The waitress was rude at one point, but I think she overheard us complaining and changed her attitude later on. Â Overall, OK for the price... After almost 3 hours of chatting and eating, our bill was $60 for 4 people. Â Can't complain much with a price like that.
I really like this place. Â It is a cute little wine bar on Sunset Blvd, with high top tables and a chic industrial feel to it. Â It is not huge, and can get pretty crowded! Â There are about 8 tables inside, and then a few places to sit outside. Â I did see a larger party come in, so I'm assuming with a reservation they can accommodate a crowd. Â They have a good selection of beer and wines, and the food offerings are really yummy as well! Â The Brussels sprouts and kale dish is excellent, and their flat bread pizzas are goodl! Â The mac n cheese was ok, it didn't blow me away. Â The people who run this place are very kind, which is a nice added bonus. Â I would recommend stopping here for a drink and a nibble before heading to a show at Meltdown Comics! Â That is my ritual!
Review Source:cutest wine bar on sunset. i got to taste some wines before ordering which is a total win. tapas are yummy and love the outside seating, very cozy and perfect while on a date.
i've come here on a sunday too where you can grab a bagel and coffee and get to working on your laptop. definitely a fan!
Great place with stellar food and ridiculously affordable prices. I've been here a few times, some at night for wine, and others in the morning for weekend brunch. I will continue to go to this place and so should you.
Must Have's:
- Breakfast Panini: egg, manchego, jamon serrano
- Elvis Bruschetta: peanut butter, lardon, banana, honey - yep!
This place is great and I have been coming here for a long time. Nice vibe and great food. The happy hour specials are great... if you know what they are.
Make sure that you explicitly ask what is on happy hour. I went and waited until happy hour to order. Although my waitress knew this, she didn't tell me that what I ordered was not on happy hour. They used to have everything but the cheese plate on happy hour (50% off). Now, they have selectively not included other items. Although I love this place, I felt that they need to do a better job of communicating pricing differences or changes with customers.
Drove down to LA for dinner on a Friday afternoon to check this place out. It was highly recommended... AND I LOVED IT!
Not only is this a quaint place to just sit and have a glass of wine, but the food is good too. Reservations are recommended for peak hours.
We started off with the deviled eggs. We had all 3 of the options available. What can I say, I love deviled eggs and that may be the reason I have high Cholesterol. Haha!
My favorites were the lox deviled eggs (Smoked Salmon).
Additionally, I had the Gnocchi (green garlic-fava bean sauce, chive ricotta, Parmesan) which was super fluffy. Very unusual for Gnocchi but delicious and light.
Lastly, we had the Salumi Flatbread (finocchiona, ricotta, fresno chili). I hit a hot spot and had to call it quits. What can I say, I'm a pansy when it comes to hot food. Ohh, well, but I loved the thin crispy bread and sauce, i just couldn't handle the medium heat.
At the end of dinner, we almost fell of our chairs when we saw the bill. We realized that we got there early enough for part of Happy Hour where everything is 50% off from 5PM to 7PM. (Monday through Friday). Nonetheless, we tipped for the full price because out waitress was awesome and was on top of things all night.
Just as an FYI ... there are Bottomless Blackberry Sangrias early Saturday and Sunday. Still looking for a volunteer to get me home safely, though. Any takers???
Another Day, that YELPS saves the day!
Quaint little spot in West Hollywood, parking might be slightly tricky to find but it is literally in the back area of the restaurants.
Perfect tapas place where the assortment of tapas really were delicious! Full of flavor that leaves you wanting more!
favorite of the night:
Gnoochi - WOW, what is that special green sauce -perfection , the slightly crisp gnocchi mixed with the green sauce- WOW , a must order!
Mushroom Pasta with truffle oil- this was on the big bite section so its more of a entree dish. Anything with truffle sauce is bound to taste yummy! This dish def was rich was cheese but not overpowering just the perfect blend. I typically hate white sauce but this dish really brought me back ...maybe just back to vintage!
Broocilini- with caramelized onion, simple and refreshing the caramelized onion really adds more to this dish!
Def would recommend everyone to try this place out!
What a great place! The minimalist dining area feels a little empty, but this is such a great spot! The service, food, and the ambiance are all very good. I took my girlfriend here the Monday before Valentine's day and we had a great time. The waiter recommended great wines and beer, and the cheese plate was awesome! We will definitely be back!
Review Source:This place rocks. Consistently. Good food, great wine, friendly service. I aint mad at it!!!
Thank you Vintage!! Seriously, thank you.
Try the bacon wrapped dates and or the deviled eggs.. or really anything on the menu cuz it will be cooked to perfection and delish. Promise!!
Call ahead for a reservation because the place is small and intimate ;-)
One of my favorite date spots in LA. A small little cutout on Sunset that does everything right. The decor is lovely, the service is great and the food is yummy. Not too mention wine makes the world go round ;)
Some of my favs: nutella brushetta (for obvious reasons), breakfast panini, truffled egg toast, shaved brussel sprouts, gnocchi and mushroom pasta just to name a few. The only negative I have about the place is just the fact that choosing items off the menu is so difficult because everything sounds so tasty.
A smaller restaurant so a reservation would be very wise and usually a must.
Very, very nice place! As good as it gets. Knowledgeable and friendly staff, beautiful ambience, and delicious fare. And they have parking too!
We got there, luckily, on the day of the Oscars; but otherwise, they told me it gets pretty packed. So make sure you have a reservation.
Based on the suggestions of the staff, we tried the White Bean Hummus Bruschetta, the Gnocchi, Mediterranean Flatbread and their dark chocolate cake dessert. Each one better than the last. Superb. Try it for yourself.
After taking a break from reviewing restaurants, bars, and the like, this is the place that made me want to get back at it. Â Awesome service, cute place, great wine selection, good selection of beers, and awesome food. Â I guess the only problem could be parking but we chanced it and parked in the lot behind the restaurant (maybe that is actually ok though?). Â First suggestion, make a reservation! Â The place has 10-12 tables and it can be pretty packed. Â
As far as specifics of what we ordered, Caviar Deviled eggs (awesome), Manchego cheese stuffed Dates w/ bacon, Baby Kale Salad w/ cranberries, almonds, and squash (awesome), Mediterranean Flatbread (awesome), and three of the Bruchettas (all great). Â That plus two glasses of wine and one beer and the total was around $65 plus tip. Â Great service too! Â With all the small plates/tapas style places around LA, this one is actually worth the trek from West LA to Hollywood.
Solid 4 stars. The room is simple and small with minimalist, modern settings. It's got a good clean aesthetic with dim lighting that personally I enjoy a lot.
Service is attentive and helpful with eager offerings of tastings for the wines they sell by the glass. The selections we had were well-priced and generously poured.
The food itself is mixed for me. There were some high notes and some disappointments. The lows of the evening were the duck flatbread, which was accompanied by a apricot jam and kumquat relish and tasted just...sweet and the duck bruschetta which had no real stand out flavor. I'm huge a duck fan and recently had great duck at Momed so that was sad.
However, the pulled pork sliders were great. Not what I expected...more delicate and "elegant" that one would think from pulled pork but the flavors worked well and it was delicious. The blue crab bruschetta is generously piled with crab meat and wisely I think it was simply done. Great, fresh crab. Finally the grilled pear bruschetta was my favorite. That bacon compote that came with it fit the grilled pear very well.
Finally, my favorite dish of the evening was the deviled egg appetizer. Delicious, light and creamy and savory and topped with caviar. I'd gladly eat plates and plates of this. It's vying right now with Public School as the best deviled eggs ever.
Over all a good, strong meal. Prices were a little expensive considering the quantity but the ambiance and service was great.
This place is a gem! The best part about this restaurant is place was the service. I made a last minute reservation for 8 PM through OpenTable. Jennifer called the day of to confirm the reservation, and when I was running late...she moved the reservation to 8:30 PM without asking questions. When we got there, the place was filled and our table was ready and waiting for us.
The staff is very knowledgeable and were very helpful. Overall, loved the ambiance, service and food!
I was looking for a happy hour destination and found Vintage Enoteca on Yelp - it was great! Â It's cute and quaint ... I wouldn't call the scene "trendy" by any means ... Lauren helped us out and she was very friendly and attentive.
At 6:00 it was fairly empty and we enjoyed some drinks and delicious food, including shaved Brussels sprout salad (divine), meatballs, marinated olives (fantastic), a couple of flat breads, white bean bruschetta (very good), BBQ pork sliders.
What really blew me away was the bill. Â It was insanely inexpensive. Â Amazing happy hour prices!
I love everything about this place!!
Food is so good... Figs, deviled eggs, cheese/salumi plate and pear/bluechesse salad are just some of my favorites. You can't go wrong with the flatbreads either. The staff and owner are beyond nice and knowledgable!
I can walk there which makes me the luckiest person, but if you have to drive, there is plenty of parking behind the building.
So yeah, this place rocks! Now what am I forgetting.... OH the wine!!! I'm not a big wine-o so it's great that the staff takes the time to ask your likes and dislikes to help you pick the best wine to try. I've never been disappointed and always walk away feeling a bit more cultured in the art of wine drinking!
This place is kind of hidden in my opinion! I'm a huge tapas fan and I get lunch a lot in Hollywood and never even realized it was here.
Went for lunch - literally the only people there so service was super fast.
House-Made Pickled Vegetables - Don't think I'd get them again, they were only so so here.
Deviled Eggs (bacon) - these were really tasty  I would get them again even though they are something easy I think you can make at home, the bacon part really takes it to a new level.
PULLED PORK SLIDERS - DO NOT SHARE THESE. I split an order. MISTAKE. You are gonna want them all.
Chicken Salad - really good. Comes out warm!
Pulled pork sliders are the best though. Just order a million of those. I'd go back to try the meatballs.
I have just one thing to say about this place: WHY? As in, why has it taken me TWO years to visit Vintage Enoteca? (I'm kind of mad at myself, actually.)
I visited this morning with my "food critic" of a boyfriend. He started with the deviled eggs - two lox and one caviar. We also had the salumi and cheese plate. We let our server know what kind of cheeses we liked, and she did an incredible job of choosing the perfect cheeses for us. It came with two kinds of meat and three types of cheese. It also came with toasted bread, strawberry jam, mustard seeds, and nuts in honey. For my main course I had the Pear and Blood Orange salad, which my boyfriend thought was a little overpriced at $10, as it's a bit small, but it tasted phenomenal. He had the pulled pork panini, which comes alongside a small salad, and he plowed through it. (There's also ample parking in front and back of the restaurant, if that helps some.)
Initially we were the only couple in the restaurant, which can be nerve-wracking for a first venture. But as our meal continued, additional customers shuffled in. We admired the wine selection, and vowed to return on another date and time when we can actually enjoy some. All in all, this is a restaurant not to be missed. And there's no reason not to return, since they change up the meal and wine selection monthly, with a few solid staples.
Thanks, Yelp! I was looking for a place to meet friends for light food/drinks before a show at Meltdown Comics. There were six of us, and I'm glad I made a reservation--it's a small place. Service was friendly and accommodating. They were happy to give descriptions of the unusual varietals on their wine list. They also made some adjustments to menu items for our vegan friends.
Everything we ordered was great. We shared a bunch of small plate. I loved the broccolini flatbread with taleggio. The farro salad was a hit. The marcona almonds with paprika pleased everyone at the table. There was nothing disappointing at all.
We also, by coincidence, planned our visit during happy hour. Food was half price, which made our visit sweeter. I can't wait to go back. This place is affordable and delicious.
