Not going back any more ...  i tried this place few years back it was good, but  recently I went back and i tried it 4 times, and every time is worst then the one before, if you like your chines food is all boiled vegetables and very very very small portion of meat then this place for you,  if you order  a large shrimp order you get  5 pieces of  over cooked shrimp and the rest are  all vegetables same for the chicken and beef. Food is very test-less it's more like hospital food no flavor,  On my last order i waited 45 minutes to get the food, when she said it would be 15-20 minutes. All of my orders were take it out except one was dine in.
Review Source:Potstickers - gushing juice, full of flavor. Â Of the thick, chewy skin variety.
Stir fried clams - really tasty clams. Â Delicate, balanced sauce with black bean.
Steamed shrimp - cooked perfectly, in contrast to the usually overcooked shrimp found in many places. Â Covered simply but flavorfully with ginger and garlic.
This is what I think of when I think really good Mandarin cuisine. Â It makes me think of what I had once at a really awesome Chinese wedding.
As others have noted, extremely good prices for the portion sizes and the quality.
Now I have a favorite Mandarin, Sichuan, and Taiwanese place. Â Now if I can find a good Hunan and Cantonese place...
After racking up multiple excursions to Chinatown under my daytime and late-night belt, I can tell you with confidence that I'm just not in love with authentic Chinese food.
I know, I know - I'm embarrassed for me too. Being adventurous in both spirit and palate, real Chinese fare is something I should love but instead I'll say I like it some and I do appreciate it. So that's my disclaimer.
Personal tastes aside, I have to say that Yee Heung is doing a lot of something right. What they lack in decor (some say a large tank filled with live rambunctious lobsters makes for an entertaining backdrop) they make up for in service and seafood (see aforementioned lobsters). A plate filled with steamed clams in "special sauce" comprised of cilantro, black beans and loads of garlic was outstanding, and the hot and sour soup was definitely some of the best I've tried. The heat factor was actually palpable and worked my somewhat desensitized taste buds overtime.... yesssss!
Now the Kung Pao beef is something I didn't care for, though everyone else liked it plenty. The fortune cookies, however, were delicious! I really can't be the only person out there who actually eats their fortune cookies... and if not, please send them c/o Jelena Z.
They're open 'til 4 or 5am depending on the day and they only take cash. Made-to-order grub that isn't a burrito at 5am? When I do want it, I'm on it like white on rice.
yee heung (bob's) is a place that i used to only visit after a night out to grab some good greasy chinese food that's open till the wee hours of the morning, to soak up all the alcohol i had just consumed. Â slowly but surely, its changed to a place that i would visit to grab dinner even when sober. Â bottom line is that yee heung has good food at a reasonable price. Â the only bad thing is that it takes a while to get your food, but it is worth the wait.
a few dishes to try: sauteed beef, seafood combination, spicy squid, spicy shrimp...also the egg rolls are really good.
Good place to late night the inside can be a little better by for a chinse food place that I'd open that late who cares the food I will say was excellent better then more expensive places that  are open during the day not a date place but somewhere to go late after a bar or a late night the ihop of Chinese food best way i can explain it
Review Source:Wow, I guess I'm the minority on this place. I went here with my guy the other day. I've heard great things and was pretty disappointed!
First, I know it's suppose to be known for their seafood, but it should still have good chinese food.
We ordered the dinner for two. Which included 2 egg rolls, 2 bowls of won ton soup, sweet & sour pork, chicken kow and bbq pork fried rice.
Egg rolls - Eh, I've had better.
Won Ton Soup - Nothing special.
Sweet & Sour Pork - It was ok.
Chicken Kow - The chicken was dry, but the veggies was good.
BBQ Pork Fried Rice - Not much flavor and wasn't really good.
We were the only table and the waitress took awhile to acknowledge us after giving us the menu and tea.
Maybe I have to be drunk to appreciate the food, but I think I'll pass!
This place is family owned and operated. The prices are great and the quality is excellent. It does not look like much but the kitchen is clean. The seafood dishes here are mouth watering. Try the steamed oysters with cilantro, black beans, and garlic. Parking is a challenge because you are in China Town, although public parking is located about 1 block away near the L Track. Open late, you won't be disappointed here. ENJOY!
Review Source:First off with the bad: CASH ONLY. AND there's no atm.
Now for the good.
Moderately priced. Sizeable portions. And open late. I work at night, and this is lunch favorite for me and the fellow idiots I Â work with.
Best item and most unique is the Sauteed Beef. Just order it "dry".
DO NOT get the "beef and rice" special. It's more than half WHITE riceand not that much beef, with a lot of gravy inbetween. This is thier only real stinker on the menu.
It's only street parking, so be ready to walk a bit, as it's on a crowded drag of Cermak.
One of the better late nite joints to go after a drunken or sober nite on the town. Â I used to stumble in here and pig out! Â I'd start out with egg rolls, then chow down on roasted duck fried rice (I believe a house specialty) Â then with that, salt and pepper pork chops, and if we were really hungry, beef and chinese broccoli with chow fun cooked extra crispy. Â Wow! makes me hungry just thinking about it.
Review Source:Mmmmmm...the host and sour soup really helps at 4am. A great Great late night hang out for all the bar bunnies and club kids that do not like to go home until the sun comes up!
We had enough food for 11 people last night and the bill only came to $65 including tip. Yummy items included: clams with black bean sauce, tung choy, beef chow mein and of course the ubiquitous hot and sour soup.
To be honest, almost anything will taste good to a drunk person at 4am. I did notice that the food was no overly greasy and the flavors of the ingredients were not covered by heavy sauces or MSG.
So anyone who is going to being hitting a CSG or Ginseng party in da Chi and is hungry afterwards, hit up Yee Heung :}
