Applebee's

I am a fan of applebee's . My favorite is their salad, especially the Oriental chicken salad, the salad sauce is very yummy. Also, the service there is awesome.

I always wondered whether this chain deserved the reputation it gets for being bad.

At least this location does.

It's LOUD, REALLY REALLY LOUD. Overly loud. The music, the tv's, the screaming children....excessively loud. I should have done a decibel reading with phone app. The decor was dated, old and boring.

The waiter was high. Noticeably. And he disappeared for long periods of time causing us to wait on our appetizer, wait on our food, wait on our bill.

The food was terrible. My dinner companion ordered a steak and potato. The steak was tenderized so much it tasted salty; probably to cover up the horrible cut of meat. My order was a chicken fajita type dish with what was supposed to be sauteed onions and mushrooms. The only onions actually sauteed were the ones hidden under the immensely dry chicken on the hot dish. The appetizer was a spinach-artichoke dip - predictably heated up and terrible tasting. It was served with tortilla chips that tasted like they came from a bag from the back of the rack in Kroger.

Applebee's is essentially Chotski's from Office Space. In fact, the only way we were able to make our experience palatable was to watch Office Space at our table on a phone...on our phone network because this location doesn't have WiFi unlike McDonald's up the street. When we asked our very high waiter he replied he didn't do computers.

I'll never spend money here again.
