I think the key word for Argentine Bistro is inconsistent. I have been back several times at the urging of our friend Jay, after saying I wouldn't go back. I have gotten great tasting soup, but sloppy and slow service. We ordered the Ropa Vieja which had great flavor, but was cold. I ordered a Caipahrina and the waitress and bartender didn't know what it was. The drink is on the menu!
I expect much more from this restaurant.
We continue to try this restaurant as we love to support our local business establishments. Â There is talent in the kitchen here, however a bit pricey and I often leave hungry. Â Portions are all smallish but beautifully displayed. Â Not very busy during the week and sometimes we are the only table dining. Â Might be a better lunch choice rather than dinner. Their salads are always fresh and decor is interesting.

Pros: Great staff and atmosphere, delicious butternut squash soup
Cons: The two entrees we ordered were tasteless. The ropa vieja was rice with some beef on top of it. The sauce they had was tasty, but they just put a tiny tiny bit for presentation, and the other 95% of the dish that didn't have any sauce had no flavor. The chicken dish we got was alright...but all you could taste was butter, and cheese that they melted on top of the potatoes. The house wine was also not too good, although not bad for only $5. Won't be going back.
My wife and I tried this place for lunch yesterday and we were quite pleased. We started with a cup of the butternut squash soup and it was excellent. For the main course my wife ordered the grilled cheese and I had the Argentine Panini, and both were excellent. The grilled cheese came on fresh panini bread with Brie and an apple compote. The Argentine panini was very tasty, and I thought the aioli and roasted red pepper were nice compliments to the warm sandwich. For lunch, this is one of the better places that I have tried in the Fort Mitchell area.

The coffee and drinks are really good. Â The tomato bisque was also quite good. Â The spatzle that comes with the chimichuri chicken is a bit excessively oily but the chicken is good. Â Service is attentive and staff are able to make good suggestions. Â Rather than a full meal I would suggest appetizers or desserts with drinks as they do a very good job with these. Â The location itself is also nicely and uniquely decorated.
Review Source:The restaurant is called Argentine Bean now I guess- same address, so it must be the same place. Â We were a large party but had made reservations. Â When we got there it took a good 10 mintues for them to put the tables together- in other words, nothing was ready. Â The service was was slow, inconsistent, and at sometimes actually rude. Â Our reservations were for 7:00 and we didn't leave until after 9:45. Â That's just a little too long for dinner- especially when there's little kids there. Â That might have been excused if the wood were amazing, but it too was inconsistent. Â I had the honey thyme pork which was good. Â The pork could've been a tad more tender, but it was good. Â My husband and brother ordered the crawfish pasta, and they felt it was a step above tuna casserole. Â My brother strongly questions if the pasta was homemade as the menu implies. Â The lamb shank was recommended, and those in the party who ordered it did indeed like it a lot. Â For the expense, which is high, it seems like the service and consistency of the food quality could be better.
Review Source:Went here for a late lunch with our boys. Â Menu has soups, salads, sandwiches, and a few appetizers. Â The sandwiches were delicious as was the quiche of the day. Â Our youngest didn't care for his chicken noodle soup and it was a bit bland. Â We shared an empanada and it was a bit oily yet still edible. Service was good; however, it was an off time and there was only one other table. Â It was a tad expensive for what you get.
Review Source:I ordered a Meat Empanada first and I really enjoyed the flavors and texture. Next I had the Brick Chicken with Lentils and Butternut Squash. This dish was just so so, and the lentils were slightly underdone. The service was slow and slightly inattentive. If I were to return I would order an Empanada and some wine. The  service made me feel like as a single guest I was unimportant and for this reason I doubt there will be a return visit.
Review Source:I hosted a dinner here last night with a few members of a dining out group to which I belong. I'd been here a couple years ago for a wine tasting and had really enjoyed the food.
They had a house Chardonnay and Cabernet available as a wine special, $2 for a glass. I opted for the Cabernet and thought it was quite nice. A couple of my dining companions chose an appetizer and seemed to enjoy the risotto and empanadas they ordered. The seasoning smelled terrific. Those that wanted a small salad were told the greens had just run out. I thought that was pretty odd.
I chose the bacon wrapped shrimp dish for my entree. The dish wasn't quite constructed as described, but all the elements were there. The bacon was blended in with the grits along with some rosemary. The shrimp were a good size, cooked well and the grits were delicious! The veggie lasagna looked very good and those having it said the seasoning was really tasty. The portions were quite generous.
This might have otherwise been a 5-star review, but I felt the service should have been quicker. There were three other tables occupied and the five of us. Our server, who I think was one of the owners, didn't check on drink refills but maybe once. I eventually got to order a second glass of wine, but well into having eaten my entree. I'd go back, but with maybe one or two friends to see if the service issue was just a one off thing.
My first review for Argentine Bean was less than stellar (two stars, I believe). I had gone in expecting something Spanish, got overpriced American, and rude service to top it off.
Well, today, I gave this place another shot, and let me tell you, I was pleasantly surprised! I met up with a bunch of old co-workers for lunch, and we had a fantastic time. The decor is just beautiful and it made us all feel like we were in Europe somewhere. My sandwich (the Argentine Panini) was absolutely delicious, and our service was very friendly.
Hopefully that first time was just a glitch, because I'll definitely be trying this place again.
A friend and I went in to take a cooking class we had scheduled the previous day and were told the woman who answered the phone didn't know, but you had to schedule 24 hours ahead of time so we wouldn't be able to take the class. My friend had driven about an hour for this, so at first we were both upset. They should take numbers so they can contact people if necessary when this type of thing happens.
However, the guy who told us all this was extremely apologetic and gave us a wonderful lunch on the house. He offered a glass of wine, brought out a smoothie (which was incredible), and we ordered lunch, all on them! A lot of restaurants aren't that hospitable, so that was a nice surprise.
We're going back next Saturday for the class, so hopefully this time they'll have enough notice to be able to prepare.
I went here last night with a group of 12 people. Â We had reservations, so the employees should have been well prepared for our arrival at 7:30pm. Â Also, other than our group, Â the restaurant was virtually empty. Â Considering all of this, I see no reason why service should have been an issue.
Unfortunately, it was. Â All of us ordered our food at the same time. Â Most of the couples at the table ordered a salad or appetizer and an entree for each person. Â Though all of us ordered our food at the same time, but not one dish left the kitchen at the same time. Â One person would get an appetizer, then an entree would show up, then a third would get their salad. Â Also, the kitchen clearly made all of the meals for one end of the table before beginning the appetizers for the other end. Â Clearly there was one overwhelmed person back in the kitchen that was completely unprepared for a large group. Â
Now, to the positives. Â The food was very good. Â We had the vegetable empanadas, Argentine salad, brick chicken, and the chicken hash. Â Though each item seemed $1-$2 overpriced, especially because of the small portion sized, it was very tasty and unique. Â
The atmosphere of the restaurant is very romantic. Â It would be a great place to go for a date night. Â
The drink selection is great. Â They have a number of unique beers and a good wine and specialty cocktail selection. Â
We were served by two different waiters. Â Both of them were friendly. Â Our drinks were refilled quickly. Â If you go there in a large group, they do automatically add 20% tip. Â Slightly annoying considering the issues we had with our food, but in reality it didn't seem to be the fault of the servers. Â
So, wrapping up, don't go here in a large group, but it might be the perfect place to spend Saturday night with your sweetie (if you want to shell out a couple of extra bucks).
I've been to Argentine Bean twice and both times were good experiences. The food is a bit pricey but well worth the cost in my opinion. The couple of entrees I have tried have been delicious and the Argentine Salad is a must have. They also have great daily drink specials including half price bottles of wine and half price martinis. The decor inside the restaurant has character and the small patio outside is also nice and charming, though the tables are small. The staff is very friendly and I hope to return soon.
My one and only complaint was that both times I was there it seemed to take a little bit for someone to notice new customers had come in. I'm pretty sure they sorta forgot about us on the patio one night! This small problem did not in any way ruin the experience though and I would definitely suggest this restaurant!
Stopped last night for a light dinner for two, much to our surprise there was a new menu, not the tapas we were expecting. The service was great, there was sparse competition for help. Atmosphere is always pleasant, great music.
So for dinner, we split an appetizer, salad, and entree. The food was wonderful. We had the cheese app, the house salad and the salmon, the food and preparation was above average, we left little more than crumbs to be swept away.
My only complaint and my reason for the low rating was the bill. This was not a reasonable dinner for two considering we ordered only one entree. At $50 plus (including tip, no drinks except a coffee), I expect much more. We will likely go back for coffee and desert, as we have many times, but I doubt this will be a regular stop for us.
Stop for a glass of wine or java, but don't plan a legitimate meal. If you have yet to travel abroad, find your unique dining experience here. The rest of us find an outrageous bill, an unrelenting hunger waiting to strike, and enough oil to supply ten Asian buffets. And, why were the tapas so freak'n oily? Argentine Bean captured mixed reviews from my dining partners, but I am certain each ate more later. By no means entirely disappointed... I found some tapas were worthy of a snack/appetizer. I also found a cosey atmosphere unusual of the mall setting. However, two of my three visits were accompanied with noticeably bad service... so lump that with overpricing and lackluster tapas. A better dining value can be found elsewhere.
Review Source:mediocre food last night. crab cakes mealy texture/dry. Sauce was ok. Empamadas were average--needed a kick of spice and meatier taste--again, the filling was dry. PAstry was a bit odd--orange color like it had cheddar cheese in the dough--soggy.
sausages were very disappointing--quite dry--chorizo falls apart. chimichurri sausage was flavorfull but also dry.
ordered pork medallians which mere boneless pork loin slices--not medallions, WAY overcooked and after one bit, sent back.
house wine well-priced--others looked a bit high.
We wanted a nice experiience as it was our anniversary--it was a below average meal.
pleasant place, decent service but no need to return.

As we sat by the fire enjoying the Argentine soup and Chicken Marsala we look out the tall glass windows surrounded by little white lights. Â Â The rain was coming down hitting the puddles softly and a light fog was sitting all around. Â
The Princess room was definitely made for a Princess (very Victorian feel).
We went in the evening which always creates a different mood than in the day time. Â And I think the live music is only of Friday evenings.

Everything was really good, including the service.
I had the Argentine Shepherd pie which was some type of beef topped with garlic mashed potatoes and cheese in a pie. It was served with spinach and olives. My husband had the Meat lovers lasagna which had meatballs, sausage, and bacon. We both also had potato soup. I had a cup, and he had a bowl. I got a cup because I wasn't sure how large my pie would be and I didn't want to get too full on soup. It was a mistake, lol. The bowl was a way better deal and the portions are small so I could have handled the bowl.
We ordered an Argentine Panini to go, and it was amazing. It was probably the best thing that I tasted from there. It came with really tasty chips also.
The only reason I won't give them a five are their prices vs. portions. For the amount of food they give, it's a bit overpriced. Our tab would have normally come to a little over 40.00 but with the gift certificate it was only a little over 15.00. Amazing deal with the gift certificate, without the gift certificate, I probably wouldn't be going back anytime soon.
i wanted to try tapas because i never had tapas before and i wanted to be invited into the wonderful world of tapas. I am no longer a strange to tapas. I just love saying the word "tapas". Tapas tapas tapas tapas tapas. Tapas tapas tapas tapas tootalee-doo.
Anyway, the food was good. The drinks were great. Maybe a little expensive than it should be but you only live once.
Btw, I saw in another review they were complaining about the bartender having green hair. Don't you hate yelp reviews when they complain about the appearance of the people who work there? It just seems really elitist and gross. I once read a bad review on here because a waitress had tattoos. I don't care if I'm served by a martian if the food is good.

Been for lunch many times and have never been dissapointed. Â The Tomato Bisque soup is incredible. Â
My favorite items on the menu are the argentine salad (add crab cakes, they are really moist and contain a lot of crab), the caprese sandwich and the argentine sandwhich. Â The paninis all come with kettle chips which have a delicious peppery flavor and everything is very fresh. Â
Its a family owned business which is a nice additional to strip mall land.
