My wife and I had been previously ordering from Phil's, who makes a great Pizza btw, but due to proximity we started trying Armand's for the nights we were too lazy to cook.
The pizza is hit or miss, we've ordered multiple times and the quality has ranged from decent to near inedible (note: we order the same crust/size/toppings every time).
Along with the spotty food, their service is also a roller coaster; we have been greeted by a nice young lady on some occasions for pick-up without issue, while this last time we were met with Maureen, a middle-aged woman without a care in the world. We decided to try and order our Pizza online for convenience and were met with two issues:
1.) Maureen couldn't find the Pizza once my wife went to pick it up at the time listed on the confirmation email, it took 20 minutes of her ignoring my wife, and my wife asking for the Manager, before we received the pizza which was sitting in the pick-up area "oh, it does say Steve on it," she laughed. As the Pizza was cold now they offered to make another one, but at 1hr and 30 min passed and another 30min projection for a new one, we just moved on.
2.) They did not have any record of the Appetizer we ordered and insisted we only ordered the Pizza, upon showing the email receipt containing the Appetizer we were only told "that's weird, sorry."
So be careful ordering from Armand's, as you never know what you're going to get, back to Phil's we go.
This place is really great.  They  have choices for pizza that most places around do not.  The staff is always super nice and treat you like you've know them for years (even though we just moved to the neighborhood 6 months ago).
Pretty sure we order a pan style hawaiian pizza weekly. Â ALWAYS Delicious! Â The pizza novas (super thin crust) are great too - nice change of pace from the traditional pizza.
Home, sick for the day. Decided I needed to get me a slice of thin crust pizza to make me feel better. Â So I walk in... the place is super clean looks nice. Â Fits in the neighborhood.
The pizza by the slice is immediately the fist thing you see. Â Didn't look very appetizing. Â The slices are 1/4 of a medium pizza, eh for $3... and a small pop.. I guess its not bad. Â So I look up and there's a 5.99 lunch special with a soup. Â Eh pasta fagiole... cant be that bad, its a bean soup with pasta. Â So she warms me up a slice of sausage. Â It looks like Jack's frozen pizza(I love Jack's btw, nice thin crispy and you can inhale it in 5minutes). Â So I might enjoy this. Â I take it home.. pull out the pizza.. its crispy :D so nice.. crispy.. Â Cheese is dry, so is the sauce.. eh.. its $3... i guess its fine. Â The soup... was horrible.. I threw in about 2 table spoons of salt and some Tabasco... it also had lots of chopped garlic floating around... yah i ate about half of that... I think i might hit it again for a slice when ive got $3-4 bucks in my pocket... but that's about nothing.. nothing else really shouts out at me.
eh.
I was in the area trying to clear my head from the night before. The restaurant strip in Edison Park was beginning to come to life as people with mismatched clothes, bed head and many with blank stares from a tough Saturday night headed into the few restaurants open for business.
One can't go wrong with a slice of pizza and the special was too good to pass up. The pizza looked fantastic and the portion size was surprising. We were the only one in the place besides the very pretty and accommodating girl behind the counter.
I had the sausage which was very good, very juicy, maybe too much. My next I would definitely try the pepperoni. Haven't had pepperoni in years.
Restaurant week menus were available for lunch but my five dollar limit limited my choices. Must make a mental note for next year.
This is a nice place to get a slice, watch the game and even try some dessert. I only wish they offered ice cream or gelato
I don't normally write Yelp reviews, but I felt I had to share. I got tickets to a Bears Pre-Season Game last weekend and 4 adults to feed. I ordered a large pizza half veggie (for my vegetarian friend) and half sausage (for the meat lovers) and a Garden Salad. Both sides of the pizza were equally delicious, I'm getting hungry now just typing this. Armand's sausage is the best, so tasty, homemade - Â and I was loving the veggie half, sometimes pizza places get so lazy with a veggie pizza but that half was filled with mushrooms, onions, Â and peppers.
Super scrumptious.
We were satiated before the pizza was gone, which was great because then we had leftover Armand's pizza to snack on when we got home later that night. Fresh out of the oven, cold, or re-heated Armand's in Edison Park is the BEST. The owner, I think his name is Gary, is so sweet and accommodating. Armand's is definately a no-brainer if you live near Edison Park on the northwest side.
This was the perfect pre football meal.
This was our second time here we just moved into the neighborhood and our neighborhood recommended Armand's. It was 2 for Tuesday, but one get one free. A great deal and good food. We ate there this time and we not disappointed. The staff was great they served us and kept checking on us ever though they are not a full service place. The pizza was great! There were a lot ok kids there and some were rather loud but the manager came over and asked them to quite down or leave, kids will be kids.
This is a true neighborhood restaurant. It has BYOB with sports on the TV and a great neighborhood staff. Thanks Armand's we will be back.
Never disappointed when I go to Armand's. I had some friends visiting from New York and I just had to introduce them to Armand's pizza... nothing like New York pizza! We ordered a half cheese / half red bell pepper, onion and sausage pizza... delish! We also got a side of baked clams and an Armand's salad. Everyone was licking their plates at the end of the night. I think I converted New Yorkers into loving square cut pizza :P
Review Source:The best pizza in these neck of the woods. I used to order from the elmwood park location years ago so I thought I'd try this one. This one is even better. Pricey but well worth it. Not skimpy at all with their ingredients. I especially love their bacon. Thick cut pieces. Mmmm. Love it.
Review Source:bad management and bad food
I was in with my family, a group of boys about 16 years old were using loud profanity in table next to us, I have a young kid. Â I asked the boys to stop an d they did not. Â I told employee to tell manager. Â She did nothing.
The food was Also sub standard.
I would never go back and I would advise others to stay away especilly those with young children
Best pizza in town! Â Was raised on Armand's pizza living in Elmwood Park so for the last 12 years living in Park Ridge I've tried and tried finding a good pizza in town but never found anything close to Armand's. Â Thanks to Virg for taking a chance in putting an Armand's Express in Edison Park. Â Inside tip order your pizza double dough its the way to go.
Review Source:We have ordered from here once, a large pizza with half veggies and half pepperoni. The veggies, onions and green peppers were cut in long slices, so it made it almost impossible to enjoy thoroughly with such huge chunks of green peppers arranged on the pie. The crust had almost too much cornmeal, a feat I previously thought impossible. They did deliver to us which was a bonus, even though we live three blocks away.
Review Source:Enjoyed Armands very much.....the pizza was delicious and authentic with crispy, flavorful traditional pizza dough.......we had what I think was called  the Armands special pizza  with roasted red peppers and Italian sausage with sausage that  tasted very homemade and not greasy like most pizzerias...I commmented about this and was informed  that the sausage is specially made for them to their homemade recipe specifications.  LOVED the traditional baked clams...fresh with a slightly crunchy breadcrumb topping served with lemon and tobasco. As good as any baked clams at a fancy Chicago steakhouse... The tiramisu tastes like grandma made it....homemade and delish! Green salad was fresh, crisp and generous.  Excellent for carry out but nice ambience, clean and bright and friendly for eating there as well.  Nice to see a family run establishment instead of all of the franchises that taste so "corporate."  Linda from Winnetka, Illinois
Review Source:When they opened I would have given them 5 stars all day. I still eat here once a week but I can tell the quality is going down hill. The last 3 pizza's I've ordered seemed over / under cooked and one of them had no corn meal which really makes the pie. Often time the slices are pretty cold and chewy. It'd be awesome if they kept them in one of those pizza ovens.
Review Source:My wife had a taste for a real cheesy pizza so we walked to Edison Park for Armand's. Â The place was clean, smelled great, and the four cheese pizza we ordered was out in 10 minutes. Â It was pretty outstanding. Â I even had the rest for breakfast the next morning. Â We will be back to Armand's.
Review Source:Switched hands to a new Italian place from Caponie's that used to occupy this space. Walls once blanketed in "The Godfather" posters are  now freshly painted into a modern Italian eatery.  More for the person looking for a meal on the go. Cedar tables and chairs comfortable enough to pass the time. Chairs have the right butt to back ratio. I'm able to have back support and sit awhile while I digest and watched an MSU game.
Slices & calzones are ready to go, sitting under heat lamps on display as you enter. Slice deal for $3.95 with a medium fountain drink. Â Window advertising mentions slices served till 3 am, perfect for the local bar crowds.
Pizza is pan styled but not thick. Dough has a little moist portion in each bite which is nice, cuz I like it doughy. Sauce is tasty but cheese is salty and the bottom is over dusted in Italian breadcrumbs so much that you coat the table in crumbs. If you aren't careful you'll walk out with bits all over.
Ok for slices. Most that entered ordered other items like Italian beef and sandwiches.
Sadly disappointing.  Stuffed artichoke was burnt  and we also had worst meatball sandwich ever.  Dry and even with extra sauce on the side no way to give it life again.  Pizza nothing special.  If they could work on getting it right they could make it otherwise they will close sooner that Caponies did in this spot.
Review Source:YAY!! I grew up eating Armand's in Elmwood Park, now that I live in Edgebrook, Elmwood Park has not been in the rotation for a long time, and Armand's was sorely missed. Imagine my delight when I saw that a place called Armand's was going in on NW Hwy, 15 minutes from my home. To be honest I almost crashed my car when I saw it! Well today, I got a pizza and the antipasto salad, and it was exactly as I remembered - DELICIOUS! Cracker thin, crispy crust, tangy sauce, and the best antipasto salad ever. What a terrific addition to this neighborhood. Move over Morretti's!
Review Source:Great clean place with great service. Reasonable pricing and good pizza. i had the grilled chicken sandwich with marinara and it was solid.
Overall a great place to grab a quick meal and there is seating for about 20-25 people. Just order your food and bring it to your table so no waiters.
Quick, clean and reasonable, what else can you ask for.
Great job to the owners and a great asset for Edison Park.
This is the newest of the Armand's restaurants. Â The original restaurant which was located on Grand Ave. in Elmwood Park since 1956 has closed. Â Thankfully, the pizza is EXACTLY the same recipe as the classic Armand's pizza I grew up on. Â The Italian sausage is homemade, and is some of the best Italian sausage I've ever had on a thin crust pizza. Â If you get the "Armand's Special," Â which consists of Armand's own sausage, green peppers, onions, and mushrooms, you will quickly understand why Armand's was the best pizza in Elmwood Park for so many years. Â The onions are long, stringy, carmelized, sweet onions, and combined with the homemade sausage, this thin crust pizza is perfect. Â
If you are looking to dine in, then there is a small eating area with a few tables, and a really nice wall mounted plasma/or liquid crystal t.v. with whatever sporting event happens to be on t.v. Â Their stuffed artichokes have always been an Armand's classic, and they are every bit as good as they always were. Â Same goes for their baked clams. Â Thankfully, the original owners have franchised out to family friends who have agreed to stand by the original recipes, because if they would have deviated from those original recipes, anyone who grew up with Armand's would have immediately recognized the change, and looked elsewhere for pizza. Â
Finally, there is a real pizza heavyweight in Edison Park.
