Received a short, apologetic email from their marketing person. The event is on "hold until logistical issues are sorted out." Hmm....

For: not too crowded
Against: drinks are mediocre
Other essentials: street parking! And a municipal lot is nearby although you have to be out by 12a.

Big fan of this place. We live pretty near Chinatown and this is probably the closest spot. By we, I mean my four roommates, my dog and several floating roommates that take turns crashing the couch. We usually head over on lax nights - no First Fridays for us - and this place is perfectly filled. Not too empty, not too crowded.

The service is great, the drinks are okay. Not the best tasting but $6 a martini is on the cheaper side in Chinatown. Happy hour compounds that and martinis are cut to $3.50 - chee! They usually have specials on the chalkboard outside although not always. Every time we've been there, there has been live music or - surprise - it was salsa night the last time (Saturday) that we went. Hilarious and fun to run into as a way to close my roomie's birthday.

Happy Hour: M - Sa 4p - 7p. M-R 11p - 2a. $3.50 well and some martinis., $1 off beers and $4 pupus.

If I was planning on wiling out I'd probably hit Duck Butt but Bambu 2 is a great place to chill and have a few drinks.

Lychee Martini? Yum :)!

I liked how spacious this lounge was. The artwork in here is also pretty interesting as with most of the establishments in the new "artsy" downtown area :p

This was a nice place to catch up with my best friend over yummy drinks~ The music wasn't blasting too loud and the ambiance was nice. Definitely will want to come again!

Ugh. I am sorry BambuTwo. I must first admit that I have had some fun experiences here on first friday nights, as I can always count on you to have a short entrance line and never be too crowded even on the crowdedest china town nights. Wait. That's actually not a good thing.

Anyways, my co-workers and I came here on a Tuesday evening for a celebratory drink or two. Other than my co-workers and I, there was only a small party of 4 in the front of the lounge. With that being said, you would think that we would have had attentive/quick service. Quite the opposite actually.

Medicore martinis and bartender with little knowledge of liquor/beer. Okay--- so it was a tuesday.... I will give em the benefit of the doubt.

Btw-- BambuTwo shares a kitchen with Du Vin and Du Vin is about a block away. Yeah, you do the math. We waited 30 minutes for 4 mini empanda which we easily inhaled in one bite. We wanted to order more food but decided it just wasn't worth the wait. I also thought it was odd that the server/bartender/whoeverhewas failled to mention to us that there were only 4 empanadas in the dish, when there were obviously 5 people in our party. I know-- everything about this description pretty much screams, "NEW EMPLOYEE/INEXPERIENCED."

5 minutes later a chick walks in with her laptop, sits on the couch across of us, and starts skyping with her boyfriend. Weird. Just plain ol weird.

Anyways, after our 2nd drink we decided to peace out and head over to reliable JJ Dolans.

The food was yummy, but not well named. For example, the somosa was not a dough pastry but a spring roll wrapper which is not a somosa. the happy hour prices though can not be beat.

I loooove this place. It's such a nice place to bring anyone that enjoys a dim martini lounge so you can talk the night away. This has to be my number one place to go to with friends. They even had live music!

HAPPY HOUR!!!! A really cheap, and affordable happy hour with good food and drinks! There are two happy hours daily. Early happy hour is M- Sat, 4-7 and late happy hour M-Th 11 pm-2 am (they are closed on Sundays). The best part about this HH? The prices! Martinis and Well Cocktails are only $3.50, wines - $6, beer $1 off
and all tapas are $4! My girlfriends and I went on a Saturday night for happy hour and ordered almost everything on the tapas menu and had seconds of a few of them. We also each had a drink or two and when we split the bill, it only came out to $15 per person including tax and tip! Definitely the best HH for value and quality in my opinion!

We ordered one of everything from the menu, but our favorites of the night were the artichoke dip with lavosh chips, the arrancini, and the veggie samosas. The portions are not big and many of the tapas come with 4 pieces, so this was perfect for our group of 4 ladies. But when you take a sampling of a little bit of everything, it really fills you up. I hear the tapas come from DuVin. As for the drinks, I like my drinks sweet (yes, I like my fru-fru drinks) so the Sexy Bull was perfect for me.

I'm glad I finally go to try BambuTwo, and it's now on my list of favorite happy hour spots. As I always say, Happy Hour: happy belly+happy wallet=happy me! :)

I love coming here, but try not to make it a habit because the drinks are a bit pricey these days. The staff is always pleasant and willing to have a good conversation with you. Sometimes you get the occasional irritating patron that bothers you, but what bar doesn't have that. This visit I had the Jameson-Ginger, which was not the tastiest beverage at first, but once the ice melts a touch and you stir it up real good, its actually an amazing drink, but one will suffice because its pretty sweet.

I love that their restrooms are almost always nice and tidy, which is great for a bar. The food is from Du Vin, so if you want a more chill atmosphere this is the place to go. During the day you can come here and get a drink or grab some coffee and use their free wifi.

I've been here several times and each time has been a different experience.

The first time I came here with a friend just to grab a quick drink after dinner. I had the lychee martini (amazeballs!) and she had the raspberry martini (which she claims is the best thing ever). This first time around, it was just a quick drink, the bartender was nice and we loved our drinks.

The second time I came here to meet up a few friends who were having a happy hour and I hate to say it but the service was terrible.

The third time I came, I fell in love with the drinks and the samosa with cilantro creme appetizer. This place deserves the 4 star review based on just the samosas alone. As an indian, it was quite surprising to find samosa appetizer in a place like this.. but thankfully, I wasn't disappointed. I would love to find their samosa recipe! The other thing that made this place perfect was we came maybe a few minutes after happy hour ended and we asked the waiter if he can give us happy hour prices, the guy was happy to do it and said the first round of apps and drinks can be happy hour. Love this place!

Moral of the story: samosas are amazing, drinks are amazing, the service can be unpredictable.

I like this place, but there is a bit of a design flaw that prevents people from feeling comfortable upon entry. The stage is right up front and the entry right next to it. I noticed people would peek in and seemed to feel uncomfortable. Seems to me the stage should be in the back so that people can come in and investigate, as opposed to feeling like they are interrupting a performance.

Well, before you get into the need of dancing around, shouting over loud music, remember that the title of this place says it "Martini LOUNGE". As soon as you walk in you feel the need to order your girl a fruity drink, sit in the back on the comfy chairs, and just have a peaceful, yet romantic night.

At times there is live music here and that's what brought me here for my first visit. What's better than supporting the local talent on stage and Yelping about it? When the local talent on stage is your very own Emi Hart singing her heart out with John Leblanc. I could hear her laughing it up on the mic as soon as we turned the corner so I knew at the right place!

Sitting at the bar, my friend and I were served our drinks right away and was even given a free shot. What person doesn't like a free shots?! (besides the Capital One "NO" baby) Beer selection was a short list, but what would you expect from a martini lounge? Heineken and New Castle was good enough for me! Didn't get a chance to taste the food but wouldn't you know what Emi's better half does.....just like her review says, "bring in pizza from JJ's!" That looked so delicious and the best part about it is that no one cares that you brought in food from another place and made you eat it outside!

The atmosphere here is one that like mentioned above is just so chill!! Little decoratives on the wall, sooth lighting, and comfy seating. A great place to have a quixotic conversation with your love or even approach a single lady at the bar without disturbing her personal space. So no worries ladies, no man should be screaming in your ear scaring you shouting "WHAT'S YOUR NAME HONEY?!"

I recommend this place to anyone and I'll be looking forward to hearing more local talent on stage and spend some time with Misty here to chill. Who knows....maybe one day Misty and Emi will be one stage together playing their music! Go get 'em girls!

LOVE the lychee martini on their First Friday menu.

It is usually an older crowd in BambuTwo. The music could be better, but I still love the ambience. What I like about the place is the bartenders are friendly and the waitresses are not strict about drinks at all, plus no entrance fee!

Must check out if you're looking for a place to hang out in Chinatown. I prefer the weekend, its not the same when the place is empty. There are tables in the back for big groups, or you can stay by the bar & small tables like all the cool kids :)

When Bambu Two first opened, the full martini list was a deal! Then there was a new menu. The raised their prices, still a good deal though.

Located in Downtown on Bethel St. a block up from Hawaii Theater. Modernly decorated, a bit dark in lighting giving it an intimate loungy feel.

Food is available. Keep in mind, it's more like a snack/appetizer. And food takes a while. I have only tried the sampler thing (I can't remember what it was called). It was really good. But a lot of things taste good when you're hungry!

Great place to hang out, especially for pau hana!

I'm writing this review with a somewhat hazy memory of the evening I spent at BambuTwo, because that evening happened to be on St. Patrick's Day and I was already pretty loaded when I got here. Still, I think I have a firm enough command of the details of my time here to review the service.

In short, it's a nice, convenient place to enjoy good drinks and fine food. We tried the cocktail meatballs and a bowl of olives. Both were really delicious. I have no idea what my cocktail drink was called, but it had cognac in it and was a very smooth, flavorful drink.

There are tables and a centrally located rectangular bar and I think a lounge in the back with sofas. It's right across the street from JJ Dolan's Irish pub, so it's a good place to stop if you're barhopping or just in the mood for something a little classier.

Our waitress was very good. Quick service and amazingly patient considering most of her customers were hammered.

The food is a bit on the expensive side, even for a cocktail bar in Honolulu. So I ding them a little for that, as the damage to my wallet the next morning was a bit more than I would've preferred.

I've somehow been spending more time at BambuTwo during their Happy Hour recently and FINALLY got to try their tapas!

HH Recap:
Early HH is Mon-Sat from 4-7pm, but their Late HH is only Mon-Thurs (11pm-2am). Well liquor cocktails and their signature specialty martinis are $3.50, a glass of wine is $6, beer is $1 off, and appetizers and tapas are $4! I gotta say I think that's a pretty awesome. AND my original review of awesome $3.50 HH martinis still stands as being an awesome and delicious deal.

Tapas:
I've so far only tried out the Spinach & Artichoke Dip with Lavosh Chips and the Mini Quiche Lorraine. Now that I've tried them, though, I really need to try the rest.

The mini quiche are mini tartlets (they size that could fit in a muffin tin) and are delicious! A little egg, a little bacon, some tasty crust all on a hot plate makes for a tasty (and one of their more filling) tapa. One order comes with 4 mini quiche, but I was ordering it for dinner, so I didn't share at all.

The spinach & artichoke dip was pretty standard, but the lavosh chips were different. They weren't exactly what I was expecting when I ordered them as I imagined the chips I would be getting would be more fragile, but these suckers are stronger/thicker than tortilla chips and tastier, too.

Service:
For one reason or another, I've only ever met one bartender here even though I know there are others that work there. Doesn't matter much, though, because Tai The Bartender is awesome! He's always friendly, smiley, and makes great drinks! It also helps that I've been there enough that he now recognizes me when I go in for drinks.

The waitresses that work the bar are nice and smiley as well, but they are a bit slower than I'd like sometimes. Normally, it's because they're pretty busy though, so I'm not gonna fault them that one.

Oh Man oh Man how i fell in love with this place. Looooove the atmosphere and the great happy hour menu!! After a random thursday night of bar hoping, this was our 4th stop. The jazz music was playing in the background, dim lighting for an intimate night, couch seating in the back, and those giant paper lantern balls to light it up a bit. Their happy hour starts at 11pm, which may seem late for some, but I'm a night owl. There was only one other group there at the time so we were helped really quickly and the bartender was very friendly. I like how he would talk us through the menu and give us his honest opinions on everything. $3.50 for some martinis of course I will get one! maybe two...or three..or Ivan lost count. I have not tried their food yet, but I will definitely return here for that awesome happy hour! I expect weekends to be super crowded and full of party animals.

Classy, never trashy

I love BambuTwo for their cheap girly drinks, ambiance, and cozy but roomy space.

They have such a great happy hour:
Early Happy Hour offered Monday through Saturday, 4:00-7:00 p.m. Late Happy Hour offered Monday to Thursday, 11:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m.

BambuTwo Specialty Martinis and Well Cocktails $3.50
Wine by the Glass $6, Beer $1 off
Appetizer and Tapas $4

They get their food from DuVin across the way and it's pretty good. Nice to snack on while sharing a drink. Their tapas menu is different than the usual nachos and local grinds which is nice. They have selections like samosas, arancini, smoked salmon and shumai!

On Tuesdays they also have Happy Hour all night for students :-)

The ginger martini was great, and so was the pear. They're sweet, but won't send your tooth aching.

The bartender I had was awesome too. He was nice, talked to me and my friends, and helped us choose what to drink.

It also wasn't that busy which is a huge plus when all you want to do is kick back and grab a tini-.

Definitely stop by if you're not in the mood for a TV filled sports bar and want to feel like you're in a sex in the city episode (which I've never watched so don't take this comparison too literally).

One of my fav Happy Hour places to be! I love it here, mainly because it's truly a "chillax" place with awesome martinis and pretty yum tapas (Spanish pupus). Nice diverse crowd and I never feel rushed here. I like that:)
The bartender was nice and actually started our order prior to the waitress coming on board. He warmly greeted us, asked us to sit anywhere, and walked up to our table, and best part we didn't feel the "hurry-up-and-order" vibe.

My sister and I have met here on several occasions, aways after Pau Hana time and perfect for Happy Hour. Maybe we just luck out because when we're here it's usually not a full house, which results in pretty fast service. Again, I'm speaking for mid-week, during Happy Hours time. I heard during the weekends it can get pretty hectic.

My experience: Awesome tapas, fantastic martinis, and nice cozy ambiance!
My sister loves the "blue" martini, the only one I'll never order... Not into Blue Icee, Lawl! I drool on all the other martinis;) Prob a 4.5 if not waiting so long on our THIRD order of tapas, but we needed to beat the Happy Hour deadline, lol...

It's a typical Friday night and you're looking for a comfortable spot to grab a few drinks with some good friends. On the street you notice an upscale joint basking in the glow from the not so distant Hawaii theater. The place looks versatile enough either to bring a first date or enjoy and "loaded Corona" after a grueling week of work.

You walk up to the front door and notice the seating area outside which is a very nice compliment to the establishment. Inside the bar, you notice just how clean the place is. You and your friends look around bar which has a decent after work clean crowd. There are a couple of options, the large central bar with stools surrounding three sides or the low couches in the back behind the glittering curtain of silver metal beads. Tonight... it seems like a bar kind of night.

The staff greets you and politely asks if you're ready to order. Surprised how attentive they are, you choose from the menu. It's a decent drink menu with a nice collection of pupu's to munch on. After getting settled in on the first drink of the night, you notice the great artwork scattered around the bar. The designer of this lounge obviously had great attention to detail and produced a very intentional posh cafe. You continue your drink... and the details of the night begin to fade away with each martini.

Before your last coherent thought, you think to yourself, I have to come back; good service, comfortable atmosphere, descent bar food, and a good crowd; this is five stars.

I came here on First Fridays - and if you don't know what that is, its an event they hold in Chinatown every Friday of the month where several bars in about a 3 block radius have drink specials and such. So anyway, this was the last bar of the night on First Friday and I had the Ginger Rush martini ($6). It was honestly the BEST martini I've ever had. I'm not a martini fan, and I got 3 of these, so that says it all.

Its a nice place - we didn't have trouble getting a table and they had a DJ playing good music. It wasn't overly crowded, but there was people - which is how I like it. There was however, a leak in the roof above our table - kinda need to get that fixed..

Other than that - GREAT Ginger Rush martini :) Just wish it was a tad bit cheaper so I could get more without going broke!

Visited here on a Tuesday evening for happy hour. The place was pretty empty, besides us there were two other groups. I'm guessing it isn't like that every night, but this time it was good for a few drinks and conversation.

The food on the menu looked like it was only appetizers and there wasn't a huge selection of wine or beers, but there were a bunch of mixed drinks, and $3.50 for a martini isn't bad at all.

Finally got to check out this spot with my boyfriend! IT WAS GREAT! We both are suckers for martinis! We went in on a slow night (which I prefer so I don't have to wait a million years to order my drink). The service was great! The bartender of the night was crystal I believe. They had live music with was bomb! Oh and I also liked the lemon drop martini :D YUM!

Next time I come I want to try their dessert martinis! Sounds delish!

-- I always wanted to try this place but every time I passed it, they were closed -_- I think I just had bad timing. Plus I would try to go between my classes. So I always ended up going to JJ Donald's instead of BambuTwo --

Came here before the Shaolin Warriors event to have a few drinks and pick up our tix before the show.

I'll admit it. I like martinis. And damn proud of it. Heck, I even hold the glass with my pinky finger raised high for all to see. "YES. THIS IS A MARTINI!," my pinky would exclaim.

Unfortunate thing is that I don't drink them too often because...well, I just don't. No reason, really. First thing I usually go for is a beer or gin and tonic. But this being a "Martini Lounge," why not?, I thought.

Good thing I did because their martinis are fantastic. I had 2 pear-flavored martinis and they were probably the best martinis i've ever had. Not too sweet, but still packed an incredible pear taste to them. My friend sitting across from me was saying how easily he could smell them. A delight for the senses. If in the downtown area again, definitely worth the trip just for this.

Which is a good thing cause their service wasn't the greatest. It was worth the wait, but it took 30 minutes to get a drink. I try to give them the benefit of the doubt because they were already holding 2 events simultaneously when I walked in: a http://meetup.com event, and some sangria-making event. Pretty much ALL of the staff was concentrating on the sangria, so we were left high and dry for quite a long time. Also ordered some food, but delivery also seemed slow.

Not a bad experience, but I feel they could do better. I'll give them another chance soon enough!

I really liked this place.

Yes, it is pretty crowded, but I like the setup and overall feel of this place. I ordered two drinks and I stood there for a bout 20 minutes (super busy), so would have totally downrated this place but the bartender said one of the drinks was on him which was a nice touch.

They "do not do mojito's" which was the first time I ever heard this when at a large bar, so that just takes off a star.

We sat on those couches in the back which had moment of feeling like I was in a bar in NYC which is pretty nice for Hawaii. And more people were dressed up at this place than I'm used to which is good to see.

Great atmosphere, happy hour and service. The place makes you feel like stepping in one of those old bond movies....and I'm sure our waitress was a bond girl ;)
We sat in the back on those very comfy lounge seats and enjoyed a beer and a few cocktails, all reasonably priced (we arrived at the end of happy hour) and quite tasty.

I would come back here, even though I'm not a big martini fan.

IDK about you but I love Chinatown!!! Maybe its the culture or the liveliness; it sure heck ain't the smell of pee but ya love the place.

Okay, Bambu Two first impressions

Decent menu
Variety of martinis
CHEAP

Parking sucks though, well anywhere in chinatown/downtown parking sucks. I suggest going during off hours. Martini's are $3.50 which I'd say is cheap, everywhere else starts at $5! The time we went it was slow, we sat inside on the padded sofa chairs, and started ordering martini's! I swear we were taking it like shoots. It was okay. But what a great night it was!

Did i mention JJ DOLAN's is right across the STREET! YUM!

Ambiance is pretty lounge-y and I love it. The decor is artsy and modern, and the dimmed lighting is perrrrfect. I love the house/lounge music, too.

BambuTwo has a ton of seating both around the bar and on the floor. When I say "on the floor" I don't mean it literally. There's a bunch of comfy chairs / lounge-type seats, high tops with high bar chairs, and a whole other section that has a divider, which I imagine would be great for parties.

The bartender, with the same vertical labret piercing as me, was really friendly and helpful in my beverage selection. The Ginger Martini was my favorite. A little on the sweet side, but refreshing and tasty nonetheless.

Late night happy hour is bomb. Late night happy hour is featured on Monday - Thursday from 11pm-2am. (It used to be from 10pm-2am.) They have $3.50 well cocktails, $6 wine and $1 off beer. Woohoo!

Overall, this is a great place to grab some drinks and hang out with friends. The ambiance is super chill and lounge-y and the drinks are tasty. Service is also very friendly. And this seems like an excellent spot to host a party!

My favorite thing about BambuTwo is their service. Our @ work crew put a reservation in for a decent sized party for a going-away party. Unfortunately the message that the reservation had been made didn't make it to the day of. We arrive and our party comes in waves and we start filling up the back room with sofas and comfy padded cube stools.

http://www.yelp.com/biz_…

The management and bartenders did a fantastic job accommodating us and moving furniture to better arrange seating. They went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and having a good time. It made it very easy on us since we didn't have to worry.

Pear martini on special, other happy hour drink specials with their specialty martinis. Best part about throwing a shindig at BambuTwo is the fact you can bring some JJ Dolan's over for some snackage too! We got some specialty pizzas, fries, and wings while we let the stress of the day escape.

8pm hit. OOOOOMMMMMMMMGGGGGG EMI H. IS PLAYING TONIGHT! Live music! Great set! Even a shoutout! Two shoutouts! Couldn't be any better. If only we didn't have work on Friday.

Did you know that our beloved Emi H. is not only a fabulous Yelp reviewer/community manager, but also an immensely talented singer/songwriter? After several failed attempts of catching Emi perform, my bf and I were finally able to catch her in action at BumbuTwo Cafe + Martini Lounge earlier this month.

We came on a Thursday night and as we were sipping on our martinis at the bar next to Thomas O. & his friends, I thought to myself-life just doesn't get any better :) With the "sexy" lighting, the super friendly bartender, and the awesome live music (covers and originals)-I would love to have a place like this in my neighborhood to be a regular at!

Aside from the bar, there are couches (towards the back) for a more intimate seating. BambuTwo also has a few pupus on their menu. So far I've only tasted their coffee (Yelp cookie swap) and their lychee martini (quite good). If you like dive bars, you should definitely check BambuTwo out ;)

I was introduced to this place when Yelp community manager, Emi H, held a CMYE here earlier this year. While I didn't go to the event due to scheduling conflicts, I came by here just to check things out and to get a drink or two and just de stress from what happens during the 9-5 every day. This lounge is in the heart of downtown / Chinatown and, while there is severely limited parking, you just got to probably find your best place and walk on over. I just so happen to pop on over by #B or #2 bus from Kalihi / School Street after work.

With that said, this place is pretty chill. I do love the ambiance of it being so fluid and relaxing. Something like a Starbucks + a restaurant + bar all mixed in one. They have pretty much the right combo of foods, drinks, and liquor. I could get used to the high life, but my pocket book may say otherwise. But anyways, that's how life can go sometimes. It would feel weird hanging out and not buying anything - but that's what Starbucks is for, I guess. The prices for drinks are about right. Not that much pricier. The crowds are big, especially for happy hour and pau hana, but that's how it is.

I might have to not come here as much, or any bar for that matter, since it's taking a financial toll on my wallet these days. Every bit counts. But I will say that I have enjoyed my time here and if they do let me just hang out without buying anything - like Starbucks - then I can come back here and people watch.

B+

I really enjoy this place. I don't spend much time in Chinatown, but when I do, I seem to always end up here. If I'm in Chinatown in the afternoon, I'll pop in for a refreshing glass of sangria. It's not on the menu, but the afternoon bartender is so friendly and kind and said she could make the drink special for me. If I don't get the sangria, I'll get their iced coffee, which has free refills!

When I have come to BambuTwo at night, it's always a bit crowded. The prices are right though--very reasonable and I love their drinks. They drinks are strong and made in a timely manner. The service is always great too!

The place is clean, cute and quaint. I really have nothing bad to say about here. Haven't really tried their food, but I don't go there to eat :P

It pains me to give a business one star, but this wouldn't be an honest review if I added a second star out of pity.

I reviewed BambuTwo about a year ago and said I'd give it another chance. I was true to my word and my experience was even worse than the first, escalating through our stay.

Who/Where/When:
It was a Saturday night around 9pm. It was not busy--a handful of guys at the bar, a couple on one table on the perimeter of the establishment, and maybe 2 full tables in the back. My sister, husband, and I sat in the cushy chairs in the storefront. We had just gotten out of a concert where my sister's bf had opened for the performing band. Hawaii Theatre has extremely high-priced drinks and I couldn't manage to keep going back and forth to the water fountain.

A third of the way through the main event we decided to leave Hawaii Theatre and walk over to BambuTwo to quench our thirst and chill out a little before heading home.

What:
We sat down and 2 minutes later, a waitress came up to us and asked if we wanted to order. We were still looking at the menu so I told her we needed a few minutes and asked her for a cup of water (I was SUPER thirsty).

Then we waited. And waited. My sister told me we should just go up to the bar because the waitress was taking so long. I told her I already ordered water so the she should be back soon. We looked at her from across the room, hoping we'd catch her attention as she chatted with the bartender. Nope, she didn't even look our way.

She FINALLY came back about 20-30 minutes later... and WITHOUT the water. Okay, no big deal, maybe she forgot. So we ordered and I again asked her for a glass of water. Instead of apologizing about taking a long time to return to take our orders and forgetting the water, she look a little annoyed and rushed away.

Then we waited again. 10 minutes, 20 minutes, 30 minutes. She brings our cocktails, BUT NO WATER. As she placed the drinks on the table, I ask for water AGAIN, this time a little more assertively because at that point, my throat was practically a desert. The waitress brushes me off by saying something to the effect of "yah, yah," with attitude in her voice.

By then my sister and I are appalled. We had already spent an hour WAITING (the place was definitely not crowded), which was whatever--I could deal with it, but having to ask for water THREE TIMES is outrageous.

Okay, here's the kicker:
10 minutes later, waitress comes back with 3 cups of water. She asks if I'd like to pay cash or run a tab. I tell her cash and she walks away. ANOTHER 30 minutes later she returns and TELLS me my total. No printed check. By that time we're done with our cocktails and water. I asked, "can I add another martini onto that? Then I'll pay the entire thing in cash."

Attitude kicks in. She tells me she can't do that because WE MIGHT LEAVE WITHOUT PAYING THE CHECK. I was astounded. Why would I do that if we've had our drinks for 45 minutes and were done with it? If I had intentions to dine and dash, wouldn't I have done so 40 minutes ago??? How can she accuse us of something that didn't happen, ESPECIALLY if she neglected our table all night WITHOUT asking for a form of payment prior to serving the drinks???!!!

I tell her this is ridiculous for the above reasons and she says, "well I already had a party do that to me tonight." I honestly don't care if you're having a bad night. If you are employed, you must be getting paid to effectively do your job, right? What is the point of being a server, the face of customer service, if you insult customers and keep them waiting WITHOUT apologizing? I can emphasize with her, but if in her shoes, any reasonable person who values good customer service would have apologized. Also, if BambuTwo's policy is to deter people from dining and dashing, I suggest requiring payment BEFORE serving the drinks or IMMEDIATELY upon delivery--not 40 minutes after I received and finished my drink. It makes absolutely no sense to try to enforce some policy after you didn't follow it in the first place.

So I do the math in my head, give her that plus the cost of another drink. Low and behold, it takes her 5 minutes to deliver that drink and my change.

I guess I should've been extremely rude in the first place. She would've got us out faster and I wouldn't have almost suffered from dehydration.

I recently had my birthday party and I wanted to get VIP at Bar 35. Unfortunately, it was all booked, and it being a first friday, it would have been ultra-crowded. I had quite the entourage lined up, and I knew they wouldn't appreciate a place they couldn't sit down and have a "home base."

So, bambuTwo and bar35 are managed by the same people, and because they couldn't offer me space at the latter, they offered me a VIP table at Bambutwo. I was a bit skeptical, because the last time I had gone there it was extremely crowded and there was absolutely no where to sit. However, when I arrived, they promptly cleared our table in the VIP area and got enough seating for my entire party. We ended up having a total blast! The waitress was extremely attentive and quick even though there were a bajillion people there. The drinks were cheap and strong, and I had an awesome birthday party!

Thanks, BambuTwo!

Yelp Challenge 365 # 98/365

Stopped in a couple times but this visit warrants a rewview. Relatively small area inside but large enough for an entertainment station which is used by none other than our CM Emi H. 2 and 4 opts surround the perimeter of the bar with with single seats in the dominant center. Let's me not leave the out the outdoor seating! Great place in the early eve to watch people come and go.

And to rate the STUFF...Happy Hour is 4-8 with well pours $3.50 and listed martini specials at the same $3.50 Enjoyed watching our bartendress shake the martinis. Can't help but to have one when you watch her shake it.....the martini that is.

Outside food welcome. Staffers and patrons a like, very friendly and nice. Place to go for a pau hana chill

Tasty nibbles. Get your dirty mind out of the gutter because you know that you had to do a double take. Did she just say tasty nipples? Nope. But if those were on the menu at BambuTwo I'm sure they'd be damn delicious! (wink)

After singing a set with my friend Alastar (who I've ceremoniously dubbed Spanky McSpankSpank) I was famished from well...life. Work, kids, work, kids, crying baby, work, kiss the boyfriend, laugh a little, work, play music, back to the crying baby. I'm freakin' exhausted. Sometimes mama just needs a break.

I ordered up mushroom sundried tomato spinach goat cheese pockets which were 3 for $5 and the hummus with lavosh for $6. It was totally girl food but I loved it! The perfect snack/meal for a working/singing mama! Yuki my bartender served it all up quickly and I've officially been won over by the girl food. Guys, you can walk across the street and bring in a pizza from JJ's. I'll be hanging with Spanky McSpankSpank and enjoying a $3.50 martini!

Came here for Emi H.'s awesome CMYE.

Damn what a great Thursday night! I got my friends. And I got my martinis. Emi's got the sweet tunes and Racquel's got Baby Isabel.

I'm such in awe as I write this. Her voice!

I had a total of three...a blueberry (my go-to), bloody mary (suggested by Michael S.), and watermelon (after tasting Nicole K.'s)! Yuki-san makes um nice and strong too! I love that. All were great and such an awesome deal.

I can honestly say that it's not the martinis, although quite strong, that are influencing my review* :)

The food was just as good too. From lettuce wraps to puff things and even potato lasagna gourmet something or other. But I loved that s'mores cake for sure. David C. did too.

Yay!!! Emi!!!! CMYE!!!!!
