I went to this place all of the time when it first opened. Was a perfect example of Chicago style thin crust.
I was there a few weeks ago and it wasn't even close to its former self. Under done, and flavor less. What happened?
I wish it returned to glory...

Based on one visit for a deep dish.

Sooooo sad. I am not the biggest fan of pizza, as I only order it about once a year, but who doesn't love deep dish Chicago style pizza? I just moved from Chicago and even I enjoyed Lou Malnati's style of deep dish. The crust. ooooh the crust. So important.

I was disappointed with the Belemonti's crust for their deep dish. I think it's the same as the thin crust... just... thicker. I don't think it is baked in a cast iron skillet like Chicago style pizzas are supposed to be. I also got their hawaiian, which was ok.  But perhaps if they crisped the bacon first, or just stuck to ham, i would've enjoyed it more.

Service was friendly, sauce was pretty good. I was just really looking forward to a true Chicago style deep dish.

Next time, I might try the thin crust. We'll see.

Memorable slice. I would definitely recommend you try it.

Being from Minnesota, I sometimes miss a greasy, thin crust pizza that is sliced up into squares.  It's just how we roll.  And Belemonti's has thankfully come to my rescue.  Whenever I get a craving for Minnesota-style pizza, yes Minnesota-style (I see Chicago is trying to take this one away from us but I would beg to differ), this is where I go.

Got a slice during First Friday artwalk.Yum! One lady was there to pick up and her order had not been sent to cook. They gave her a pizza free. At least they take care of mistakes :)

Nope...sorry I'm from the southside... This isn't close to good in Chicago. Maybe something happened since they opened. The history sounds good... Shoot I'm Lugan too. Compared to Palermos's, Home Run Inn, Little Joe's... this ain't close.

I've been on a search for another great pizza place after Famous Pizza shut down and Denver Pizza Company just put too many herbs in their crust. It's pizza crust, not a salad!

So, continuing my search I landed on Belemonti's and was pleasantly surprised. The pizza is cut into squares which reminded me of my childhood eating delicious Oregon pizza at the Pizza Deli. The ingredients were also top notch, which the crust being just that. Crust. Excellent.

Now someone tell my body I can eat copious amounts of dairy again and I'lll make this place my new favorite.

A great pizza eatery if you are in the Art District on Santa Fe! (it be the only, but it's a great stop none the less!) Their pizza sauce is sooo good.

Due to my bad experience, I was invited to try another shot at my favorite pizza on the house and was pleasantly surprised to say all has returned back to the original wonderful pizza joint it originally was.

I'm back on schedule for pizza every other week at Belemonti's.

THANK YOU for getting my crust perfectly crusty again and having delicious sodas to wash down my meal. I also noticed the interior has seen some good changes as well. I'm happy to know a local spot is doing well enough to continue to update this amazing little shop.

After about three weeks (and my posting my yelp review to their website), the manager finally sent me an email offering to refund my money.  Nice gesture, but I still will never go back there.

I gotta say that my first experience with Belemonti's was amazing! I had the Garlichoke pizza with a caprese salad and was thrilled that there was a real deal pizza joint in my neighborhood.

Sadly, my second go 'round wasn't as positive.
Granted, the guy who answered the phone warned me that they were busy and the wait for the pizza would be between 45 and 50 minutes - however, I don't know that that is a valid excuse for not getting my order right.

So...the caprese salad wasn't on the menu anymore. A bummer, but not a deal breaker.

I ordered the Garlichoke again, but requested that they add tomatoes.

When the delivery guy arrived, he was super friendly...but when I opened my box after he was gone...I realized they didn't include my tomatoes or the garlic that was supposed to be on that particular kind of pizza.

Was the pizza bad? Nah. It was pretty good...even without my tomatoes and garlic.
I will say they were heavy handed with the blue cheese, but even that's not a real deal breaker either.

I'll give Belemonti's another chance because that first experience was so darn good.
But it's always a bumout when you don't get what you've been anticipating.

So I have been going to this place for almost a year now and i couldnt imagine getting pizza from anywhere else. I almost always get the "Windy City" which is just plain amazing. Italian sausage, roasted red peppers, green olives and cayenne pepper sprinkled on top. So so so good.

Was so sad today when i went in to get it and had a family enter behind me. They asked what was the best selling pizza and of course they said Windy City. But for some reason they decided to RUIN it by adding 6 additional toppings to this THIN CRUST pizza. So lets see... sausage, red pepper, green olive + pepperoni, ham, green peppers, mushrooms, onions, and extra cheese. They guy working said something about how that may be more toppings than they would recommend. The family said it was fine and got the pizza that way anyway. Then I overhear them as they are eating the pizza saying that it is too messy and has too much toppings on it... uh duh. They eat about a quarter of their large pizza and leave the rest on the table when they leave. The guy working says "Thanks, have a good day" and they ignore him and walk out silently. Nice

Point to this story is to simply trust their menu and listen to the staff. These guys were voted denver's best for a reason. K.I.S.S.!

If you havent been there, you are missing out!

Decent pizza HORRIBLE service. Takes FOREVER to get your pizza and they're not all that friendly on the phone or in person.
I've given them the "benefit of the doubt" three times now.
    I'm done.

Now that's a damn pizza!!!! I'm sorry but any pizza place that doesn't know what a Giardiniera pepper is sucks. This place is the real deal for Chicago pizza.  The staff is great, the ingredients are damn good and guess what?! they deliver!!

In fact the moment we fell in love with Belmonti's was once when the girl who took our  delivery order went next door to the gas station to get us 1L of Coca-Cola! Love this place so much.

Get the Al Capone - Plus it's SQUARE CUT!!!

This is the real deal for a Chicago thin crust.  There are only about 4 or 5 tables and the place is small, but the food is good.  Ignore the service whiners here, a real Chicago pizzeria is usually not a customer friendly place, these guys are Denver friendly and make a good Chicago pie.

I love great Chicago-style pizza - the deep dish kind and still haven't found a place in Denver that serves it just yet (Don't say Uno's as it is not the same as the original in Chitown but Giordanos and Lou Malnatis is my favs). I stopped in at Belemonti's in my quest for deep dish in Denver but as you know if, they don't serve it.  What they do serve though is an authentic Chicago-style thin crust (a favorite among my native Chicago friends).  The pizza was excellent! Spicy and so unlike all the NY-style pizza places dotting our neighborhoods.  The place is small, quaint and intimate and looked the part of a small independent northside pizza joint.

An interesting style of pizza I was not familiar with.  Chicago thin crust.  The sauce is less sweet, the toppings distribution was good and the crust crispy.  This place is so small you probably won't want to book your company party here, but you might see about ordering some pies for take-out or delivery.

Located in the Sante Fe art district, Belemonti's is in good company with Taco De Mexico and Arada just up the street.  Parking can be tricky in this area, so plan accordingly.  Two varieties of lunch special are available and they have Boylan sodas.  Nicely done Belemonti.

Had a first and likely last experience here at Belemonti's.  We ordered for Delivery tonight and the driver couldn't find the house, so rather than call he drove back to the shop to look up directions.  While there they reheated the pizzas which burned the bottoms all black.

As if the time and burned food weren't already a big enough issue, once we got our BLT pizza, we ate a couple slices and realized there was no bacon! Dude, major fail!

When I first sat down to write this I thought, yeah two stars, because I might order again, but as I read this over I think you know what? No. Not going to do this again..

Delicious pizza pie!  I work right near this place and have on multiple occasions stopped in and picked up a pie for the office.   Ive even picked up and taken home to Lakewood and it survived the rush hour commute home - barely but not because it wasnt still piping hot but because I had to channel all the self control in my body!

The owner of this place is awesome!  They donated 10 large pies to us for a volunteer work day!  Which definitely kept my volunteer work crew happy.  Big bonus!!

Its quite a tiny little joint, but the service is great and the pizza oh how I love this pizza!!

Thin crust - crunchy and super tasty!
Toppings - abundant and fresh :)
Flavor - a hint of peppery spicy goodness and I have yet to find elsewhere

Let me try to do this review fairly:
Two stars is a fair starting place, we'll start there.

I visited Belemonte's for the first time last night. Ordered a specialty pizza with NO BELL PEPPER and black olives.

Picked up my pizza, looked at it and all toppings were under the cheese. I mentioned again, "Black Olives substituted for Bell Peppers?" "Yes," I was told.

No charge or argument for substitution: +1 star
Great thin crust and cheese: +1 star
Bell Pepper was on the pizza and no Black Olives: -1 star
Customer dissatisfaction with the order: -1 star

Will I be back, yes: the crust and cheese were good enough to give another try, but I will be adamant about my order and pull back cheese on a piece before leaving with the pie. I do wish I had confidence they could just get it right.

I really enjoy the thin crust pizza from this place.  You can really feel the heart and soul that goes in to the sauce.

It's a busy place for it's size so expect a little longer wait time for delivery.  It's worth the wait.

    Top notch customer service.

Yes, like many reviewers have said the staff is pleasant. I always appreciate a smile!

The space is cozy (thanks to one of those mounted heaters - I didn't even think the frost on the windows was fake) it was though! The bathroom is pretty eww, but since I don't go out to eat to rate bathrooms.....

I did the 6 dollar lunch: slice, salad and a soda. Ginger Ale was excellent, basil vinaigrette dressing delicioso, but the salad portion (in one of those wooden bowls) would have been satisfying say if I lived in L.A. and I like to subsist on lettuce, two onion strands and a few olives. More lettuce please. I got basil as my topping on my pizza and like they advertise it was made fresh to order. Parking was a cinch. But will I return, nah...Nothing there is worth a repeat trip.

Roasted poblano peppers, serrano peppers, garlic, goat cheese, mozzeralla, just enough sauce bursting with flavor and Chicago-style thin crust... is your mouth watering yet?  It should be.  And your life will be spiced up just by trying their special pizza described above:  THE SANTA FE.  Belemonti's sauce is super yum - they call it "herbal red" and it shows they use fresh ingredients in everything I've tried.  They have at least 3 above par salads (try the candied salad with homemade croutons, sunflower seeds, cranberries and more).

Unique + fresh + quick + friendly = Woohoo!  As good as it gets!

This is my new go-to pizza place that's sorta-kinda in my hood.
I've never actually been in to the restaurant as I am totally the take-out pizza type o' girl.
Belemonti's specializes in Chicago style pizza, which means super thin crust and cut into squares rather than the traditional triangle.
The main reason why I love it is because the crust is super crispy and there isn't an overabundance of "breadiness". To me, 85-90% of what makes a pizza rockin' is the crust and these guys have it down.
Their sauce is slightly spicy, which always gets points in my book and the folks are always really nice on the phone.
You guys will always have a special place in my heart as one of my fave hangover remedies :)

I'm glad to see this place has so many good reviews and a really good rating!

My friends and I were actually just walking past last night and decided pizza sounded good.  This place is really cool.  I loved the girl that was working there!  I'm sorry I forget her name... feel bad... but I can tell you she was awesome.  She even gave me the remote to the TV!  I was sad that the owner wasn't there.  Would have loved to meet her.

The pizza was really good too.  I don't remember the name of the pizza we ordered though.  I'm forgetful again, this was such an impromptu trip.  I can tell you it had bacon, tomatoes, and spinach on it.  I love thin crust and the edges were pizza-perfect crispy!  Cheese was fantastic and just the right amount of sauce.  Plus the medium was the perfect size for all three of us.

I love these hidden little places!  Glad we found it!

I thought it was very kind of Tammy (the Owner of Belemonti's Pizzeria) to contact me to explain how she was sorry that the pizza did not meet my expectations and had expressed a desire to get it right for me the next time I was in.  I think she is very conscious of the fact that social networking sites like Yelp have become important to those of us looking for nice restaurants to spend our hard-earned money on (hey, we can't all be trust fund babies!) and I appreciate her taking the time to do so.  :o)

HOWEVER, I think my review may have upset someone else and they had contacted me, masquerading as Tammy. They wrote: "I think maybe you should not poke fun at people. Have you ever thought that maybe some people maybe sick? Not the sneezes. Not the coughs? But just livin their life? Again, this is Belemonti's Owner, wishing you had better things to do than poke fun at employees. The pizza-sure, say as you like."

I believe the food AND service go hand in hand when going to a restaurant and thinking highly of it, and the poor soul who sent this message to me should realize that.  I just wanted to warn Tammy and other concerned restaurant owners who DO respect their customers to be aware that disgruntled employees may be sending these messages to patrons behind their backs.  Yelp should implement a system to dissuade this practice if at all possible.

Pencil me in under "confused at overall consensus of Belemonti's".  Pizza was definitely just OKAY, nothing to rave about.  Sauce overpowered everything else, crust was hard, cheese could've been much better quaility.  The killer - we paid 14 bucks for a MEDIUM CHEESE.  We would've opted for the large but I draw the line at paying 18 dollars for a large PLAIN CHEESE PIZZA.  Seriously unimpressed, won't be coming back for seconds.

To Tammy (owner who commented on my review); thanks for the follow-up, I'm aware of what Chicago-style pizza is.  Good luck with the new pricing...

I'm giving you that final star, Belemontis.  You deserve it!

The sausage is still the star of the show, and the massive amounts of cheese and cracker thin crust are strong supporting cast.  I even enjoyed the sauce this time, much more than on my original visit.  It is still the weakest link, but now that's like saying Charles Barkley was the weakest link on the 1992 USA Olympic Basketball "Dream Team"

I can't wait until I get to have Belemontis again!

This place has some of the best thin crust in Denver. I grew up in Chicago and this place is authentic. Word to the wise, the keyword here i Chicago-style thin crust. Do not expect the super deep dish stuff but this place is fantastic. Plus the ownership is super friendly.

$5 dollar slice specials at lunch is something that cannot be beat

It is hard to give pizza 5 stars, but Belemonti's Pizzeria is really that good. I ordered take-out and the pizza was ready the minute I walked in the door.

The crust of the pizza is incredible as it's almost like a crunchy, pastry crust. The red sauce has a good kick, the cheese is great - not too much, and the mushrooms were perfectly moist and holding in their flavor.

Many of the reviews recommend the sausage, so I will have to try that next time. I would highly recommend Belemonti's pizza. It is the best pizza in Denver.

Hot damn. Finally. 4 years since I moved from the ukranian village to Denver. 4 years I've been looking for a pizza I liked enough to order regularly. Chicago thin crust. Good sauce. Bit doughy in the middle crackery crust on the edges. Cheesier in the middle. I've found it tonight.

This is really good pizza. All the qualities I was looking for and I described above. Plus some pleasant suprises. I had a friend that wouldn't eat Italian sausage outside of Chicago because he said it all tasted like crap. I think he would approve of the Italian sausage at belemonti's. It's excellent just like any pizza joint in Berwyn, Pilsen, bucktown, ridgewood or any other place in Chicago. The orange bell peppers on the pizza were a nice touch adding a sweet taste the cayenne pepper and dusting of black pepper. In my mind the best pizza I've had since apizza scholls in Portland spring of 08. Then again i had given up on Denver pizza until now.

I think i liked the place the moment I walked in. The smells, the mural, the 3 or 4 two tops in the tiny dining room area. This isn't a place to bring 10 people to and have a pizza party. It's a nice little neighborhood joint run by somebody that cares about what they're producing. You can see her making your pizza and it feels good to talk about pizza to somebody who clearly enjoys pizza. I talked to the owner and the countergirl from Minnesota and they were both sweethearts. They even gave my two year old a free cannoli! Don't even get me started about the cannolis! They make the filling in house and they are delicious. They have a list of specials one for everyday of the week. Call em up.

    Bless your heart belemonti's!

I'm just going to throw this out there.... I'm a pizza snob. I was born and raised in Chicago and every time I hear some restaurant claim to be "Chicago-style" my curiosity is piqued.

This place rocks my  south-side "White Sox" right off. It's by far my favorite Chicago thin crust in Denver. Everybody knows about the deep dish, but there's something specific that sets Chi-town's thin crust pizza apart.  Yes it has the perfectly thin crunchy crust, but it's the sweet and yet spicy sauce that really sets it apart. Belemonti's hit it on the spot. Not only that but they cut the pizza in squares, NOT slices! This makes me uber happy, and reminiscent of home. It's the way pizza was meant to be eaten. You may disagree, but hey you can go write your own review.

5 stars for as close to perfection as a pizza could be. Swing by and pick one up or have one delivered STAT. Don't forget to ask about the specials. Last Monday they had 2pt conversion pizza. 2 for 1 all night!

I've only had take-out, but this pizza is delicious! I love the sauce, mostly. Has a strong herbal flavor that sets this pizzeria out from all the others. Staff has been friendly both on the phone and when you pick up. One of the staff even gave us a call when he noticed our pies had been sitting for a few minutes and we weren't quite there yet, which was thoughtful.

Bonus: buy 1 get 1 on Monday nights- unlimited! This offer seems too good to be true, so I'd take advantage of it now before they quit!

My husband and I were heading to dinner in Lodo before an event at the Pepsi Center and got stuck in stuck on I25 at rush hour, with lanes closed due to an accident.  NO!!!!  Our nice intimate dinner was scrapped and we needed to change our dinner plans on the fly.  While we detoured up Santa  Fe, I remembered hearing about Belemonti's.  We screeched over and got a parking spot right in front.  At first, we thought they were closed because there was no visible activity at 6:30P on a Friday night.

We ordered a medium Windy City at the recommendation of Tammy, the owner.  What a delight Tammy is!  She was making pizza in white linen pants and looks nothing like no one I've ever seen making pizza.  Extremely friendly and social, she said she opened the place using her parents recipes from their pizza place in Chicago because she was always disappointed in the local pizza options.  I felt like I was in a girl friend's kitchen while she whipped me up a pizza.

The phone rang off the hook with a delivery man coming and going non-stop.  Not a customer came in while we were there for 30 minutes.  The "decor" feels like a quick trip to Goodwill to get something for people who want to sit down, so the place gets 1 star for decor and ambience.  Better to grab and go or deliver...or just stop in for a quick, very unromantic bite.

I'm used to deep dish Chicago pizza but this one was thinner and crispier than matzo.  Tasty, though.  The suggestion was a good one and we ate it so quickly, the roof of my mouth was flapping for the rest of the night.  Why, oh why, can't I ever learn?

This is not my favorite pizza in Denver, but the owner is a doll, I love supporting "the little guy", it's easy to find free street parking most evenings and the pizza was good enough.  We'll be back for sure.

I read Jenny S.'s review some time ago and was in the mood for a pizza last night, so I called in for a pickup.  Very enjoyable pizza.  The crust was thin and tasty.  The sauce was seasoned and has a slight amount of spiciness that paired so well with the sausage and mushroom/pepperoni and peppers pizza.  I was offered a mix of red, yellow and green peppers and they were nicely pre-grilled, so they were a perfect texture and slightly caramelized.  The toppings were all high quality, delicious and plentiful.

Is it cheap?  NO!  But then again, I was not in the mood for a cardboard-tasting, fake-cheese-wearing and sodium laced brick from one of the cheap pizza chains.  Now that I think about it, I am never in the mood for a crappy pizza, so I don't mind paying for quality.  I will be back again Belemonti's, no question of that.

Thin crispy pizza's are nice because I don't feel like a fat slob after I've just taken one out. This is a small pizza shop owned by a very friendly couple. Pizza's take about 10 minutes, reasonably priced and good selection of veggies. They even made us a vegan pizza on request with a white garlic sauce, BUT they have Italian sausage and hot links for all you meat lovers.

This place is good, friendly and fast. It is kinda small, so dining in is a little cozy but take out and delivery is an option.
