Ordered the chicken Pad Thai, Crab Rangoon and Spring Rolls. All were very good and the Pad Thai seemed authentic. I'm used to Pad Thai not having as much flavor as this one. Crab Rangoon had the right amounty of filling and the Wonton was nice and crisp. Spring rolls were tasty. Very quick service for carry out. Within 5-10 minutes I walked out the door with my food after ordering at the counter. The lady working the counter is extremely friendly and greeting every customer that walks into the restaurant.
Bottom Line - When in the neighborhood again I will return to this restaurant.
I found this restaurant via the Yelp App on my iPhone. I was in the neighborhood and needed to find a place to eat off the beaten path that was not expensive but quick.
Dang, still searching for that perfect nearby Thai restaurant. Â I heard on good authority that these guys have the best pad thai in the city but I wasn't impressed. Â It seemed kind of bland and some of the noodles were underdone at the ends.
I went out on a limb and ordered a couple of fried appetizers for delivery. Â The shrimp rolls stayed crispy but the fried calamari was limp. Â However, a few minutes in the oven resuscitated them very nicely. Â The calamari batter is pretty bland and floury; but in both cases the seafood itself was cooked perfectly and they both come with a delightful sweet chili sauce. Â So an overall win.
The second time I ordered, I tried something new to me--bangkok chicken. Â That was damn tasty. Â I also got the spicy basil noodles, another home run. Â Or at least a triple anyway. Â Spicy basil is one of my Thai favorites but I've never seen it in noodle form. Â I will definitely revisit those two dishes in a future purchase.
Their online ordering system (apparently implemented by ehungry dot com) is one of those idiosyncratic versions that looks janky and applies logic inconsistently, but for the most part it works. Â In the confirmation email, you don't get a delivery estimate; it says "This order is scheduled to be ready on [date] @ [time]" where the time isn't in the future but in the past--the time that you got to the checkout page! Â Not even the time that you clicked "Place order" but the time that you started the checkout process! Â As a person who designs user interfaces like this for a living, it bothers me to see this kind of shoddy workmanship. Â I wish that every restaurant who wants to do this would join GrubHub or Seamless just to make my life easier. Â However, there is a perpetual "Free Delivery" coupon available, and you can schedule the delivery or pickup for a certain time in the future (this is useful to those of us whose evening commute can be 60 minutes or more).
The ups and downs of my first two orders land them smack in 3.5 range, but I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt.
