Great selection of beer. I love the neighborhood feel that this place has going on. Board games everywhere...I honestly could see myself spending an entire day there playing monopoly. I wish we lived closr.

Some would call it a light at the end of a tunnel.
Some would call it a beacon of light in a storm.
Others would be less dramatic call it a great place to sit and drink beer at the end of a long walk.

Whatever you call it, we were really freakin happy to have found it. We walked here on a warm(ish) Friday night after SummerFest from Beer Junction. One squinty-eyed estimation of distance on the Yelp Map app let us know it was only, like, 6 blocks or so (cough cough cough) so away we walked down California Ave to check out a place that had great beer but less crowded by the festival crowd.

Upon walking in I was impressed with the dark woods, cushion-y couches and relaxed feel of the layout. A baseball team was eating Zeek's pizza. Dogs of all kinds peered out from tables. People were playing shuffleboard, board games and pool. BOARD GAMES!? I love spots that encourage all evening lounging with board games. (See my next review of Urban Family Public House)

Totally blown away by the welcomed ambiance, it was time to saddle up to the bar. A chalkboard informed us of their plentiful beer choices on tap, arranged from admittedly light and summery lagers to black tar shit that will sprout hairs on your chesticles. (Can you guess which ones I prefer...?) I chose the Dogfish's rendition of girl brew and my taller half chose a dark and maple sweet IPA. Next round included a cream ale that, due to apparent difficulties with their nitrogen system was decidedly less than creamy, but proved to be a minor note of the night full of exploring a great new place and new suds to sample.

seriously, best place I've ever been! The bartender is super nice and the people hanging out are awesome. There was a couple (in their 80s I would guess...) hanging out sharing a pitcher of beer, playing gin and snacking on some popcorn. Right before we left some people came in with their whippets and a small mutt. they are super PET FRIENDLY!!

    MUST CHECK OUT!!

Beveridge Place is awesome. I honestly didn't think I would find a dog-friendly bar in West Seattle, but this place proved me wrong. They have tons of indoor seating (both bar height tables and tables low enough for your dog to steal whatever you're eating), and a small outdoor patio for days when it's nice.

The biggest benefit of Beveridge Place, as far as I'm concerned, is their HUGE cider selection, which is bigger than any other neighborhood bar I've been to. They also rotate the ciders on a weekly basis, so while what you loved last week may not be there this week, they'll certainly have something equally as awesome for you to drink.

Just a heads up that their food service is VERY minimal (as in, Chex mix and pistachios), but they'll let you bring in food from anywhere else as long as you're drinking with them.

Four stars instead of five for two reasons: The way they let dogs in is by calling them "service dogs," which means your dog needs to be on his / her BEST behavior. (This includes no barking or whining, which I found out the hard way with my well-behaved but VERY vocal German Shepherd mix.) I also wish the outdoor patio area was bigger! Especially when you're bringing your dog, or on a gorgeous day when you just want to be outside, enjoying the weather. With that said, neither of these things would stop me from recommending this bar to anyone.

I can't seem to find anything wrong with this place! Large selection of libations and you're allowed to bring outside food since they don't serve anything but drinks. It's dog friendly and has ample enough room for big groups. There's a pool table, darts, shuffleboard, and this game called Skittles. Plus the bookshelf full of board games. There's also an outside area for those who want some fresh air.

Looking forward to my next time at this place.

This is a great neighborhood place. They have a fenced in patio which I love and they have a great beer, cider, and wine selection. There are two rooms you can choose to sit in. One room is where the bar is with couches and larger tables and a cabinet full of board games. The other is where there are TVs to watch a game, more tables, a pool table, shuffleboard table, and some other games. Oddly enough, the room without the TVs and pool is usually the louder of the two rooms.

They have a great happy hour and allow you to bring in your own food from anywhere. There are usually a few friendly dogs to pet as well. The staff is always friendly and will describe the different selections if you need help deciding.

This is my favorite bar in Seattle!  Beveridge has like 65 beers on tap, has a ton of board games available, and even let's you BYOFood!  I highly recommend this place if you are looking for a bar to just chill at...it is very laid back.

This is a fantastic pub. It has a great beer selection, effectively placed TVs (easy to see or to ignore, depending on your preference), and a cool staff. I am a displaced Michigander who misses Michigan beer most of all, and this place goes a long way towards soothing that pain. In case you've ever been to Ann Arbor, think Arbor Brewing Company with Ashley's beer list (well, the quality if not the quantity). Finding a place like this almost makes me want to live in West Seattle.

My favorite pub...hands down! Tons & Tons of beer options, but also serve wine and cider. Dogs are allowed = awesome! There are always friendly critters hanging out that make everyone smile :) They play all the soccer matches, EPL, Sounders, etc. You can lounge on the couches, play cards, board games, darts (my fav), pool, fooseball, shuffle board, you name it! And there are some many food options...basically every place in town delivers whatever food you are in the mood for to the bar for you. Trivia Wednesdays is always a good time too. Love this place!

This is just about the coolest pub I've ever been to. While visiting Seattle we decided to take the bus out to West Seattle to visit this place during the annual Barleywine Bacchanal, and it was totally worth the trip. The space is very casual and relaxed, where people can hang out (with their dogs!), chat, play board games and enjoy good beer without all of the stupid distractions that some other beer places tend to have (like the completely obnoxious and uninviting Brouwer's Cafe). At the same time it doesn't come off as a pretentious beer-snob place either, despite clearly being run by beer lovers. The fact that you can bring (or order) your own food make this place about as perfect as can be. The Greek food across the street (Kokora's) is particularly excellent.

There are just some places that you walk into and immediately know you belong.  This is definitely one of those places.  Great beer list, friendly/good bartenders and solid clientele.  My timing was perfect, coinciding w/ their Barleywine Bacchanal, an impressive list of high gravity goodness.  Apparently they also have board games and things non-beer related, but in the 6+ hrs hanging out here, I never left the bar.

    Best room in the city

Bar none, this is the best room in town. Maybe you would hate it if you're some kind of metro-ite who doesn't like wood or beer or soccer, but if you squint you wouldn't even detect the latter two. I wish I had more friends with loose schedules so we could occupy a whole couch wedge and drink the best beer in the world. It's such a warm nice place, I'm lucky to live close.

    Bottom Line:
If you don't like it here, we wouldn't get along. You'd have to be some kind of jerk who eats nothing but jerk chicken and beef jerky and sits around your apartment in the Jerkville section of town jerking off all day and night.

Top 5 beer bar in Seattle. No question.

Beveridge Place is what Brouwers would be if it mated with Norm's, became 30% more low-key, then moved to West Seattle.

Beer and lots of it.. I have no complaints about this place. I didn't know it was dog friendly, so when I had my service dog with me, i was confused with all the "keep control of your pet" signs.

This place doesn't serve food except for nuts and other snacks... But they have a huge list of folks that would deliver to the bar... Which was amazing.

The atmosphere was laid back, I was glad they had football games playing on the tv. It's very spacious but I'm sure it gets crowded on the weekend and nights.

I'll g back... Whenever I'm on that side of Seattle!

Came here for the 1st time for the IPA Cask o Rama and et a friend unexpectedly. I think that might be a common occurrence here given the place's awesomeness. Very busy for the event, and dogs everywhere!

I'm really looking forward to coming back and seeing what's its like here during more normal times and settling in to enjoy a good portion of their beer selection.

Quite possibly the coolest pub I've ever been to. The decor gives a great ambiance, everyone is friendly and the beer selection is amazing. My only problem: Now that I know how awesome it is, how do I drive by this every night on my way home from work without stopping? I probably don't...

I've been meaning to create an excuse to come here for a while; visiting friends in West Seattle provided the opportunity.  The pub is pretty big; one large barroom and one game room with shuffleboard, a colonial era game (I think) called Skittles, and billiards, along with TVs set to sporting events.

I gather that a lot of out-of-towners (like myself) come to visit.  As a result, there are a few signs throughout the pub listing the rules (i.e., dogs are allowed but have to be monitored at all times, rules for use of the pool table, etc.).  At first, I thought they were a little off-putting, but the staff is warm and respectful about the rules.  In the end, they came about, I'd wager, because it was the only way the pub could let people enjoy themselves as much as possible without chaos occurring (which sounds like Lord of the Flies with beer, but you get the idea).

As I've mentioned the staff, I'd love to say thanks to the bartender, a gentleman with a shaved head.  He made some awesome beer recommendations, including an unusual chipotle and black currant scotch ale from the pub's "iron brewer" competition.

The beers here are well known as outstanding.  Great selection of bottles, and a really varied tap listing.  Bringing the friendliness of the staff into the mix makes this a great place to explore beer.

All West Seatttlites seem to be very fond of this pub and with good reason, it's low-key and has a killer taplist of NW beers. There are only four easy steps to enjoying yourself here:
    1) Order at the bar (if they do table service it is not often). They have wine if you aren't into beer. And maybe water if you ask nicely.
    2) Relax and enjoy the numerous seating options, pool tables, tvs, games and books.
    3) Plan where you are going to order food from or eat beforehand. They don't have their own food so  many restaurants in the area deliver here. I recommend Kokoras which our friends introduced us to on our most recent visit.
    4) When you're all done, fill up a growler for a reasonable price and be on your way.

So why the four stars? The last time we were there we got some seriously shady service. Apparently the regulars weren't working from what our local friends tell us. Two of us were carded after we had already been there an hour and one of the two had already been carded! I went to the bar to order a beer and ordered it by the name. The server said she didn't know what was and I'd have to walk to the other end of the bar to find out the brewery name. Thanks for the service. There was a huge line and it just shouldn't take so much effort to get a damn beer so we skipped to step four and left. Better luck next time.

How can I not love a place where I can select from a plethora of fine beer choices and have my dog along for the adventure?  No food served, but they have all of the nearby restaurant menus available so you can either bring it in or have it delivered right to the pub.  Lots of comfy sofas and chairs, board games, trivia contest on Wednesdays, plus tons of different "fests" throughout the year, one for Barley Wines, one for IPA's, one for cask conditioned ales.  The outdoor Beveranda is terrific for having a beer on a warm summer afternoon as well. Plus, for the oenophiles, mead lovers, and cider lovers they always have a fine selection of those beverages at Beveridge Place Pub.

Beveridge Place Pub is pretty awesome. First, they have a lot of beer on tap, and their taps are forever rotating.  They have special beer events/promotions going on all the time, too (right now is "Hoptober" and there are over 15 IPA's on tap, and customer's can vote on the next "House IPA").  There are specials throughout the week, including Microbrew Monday, featuring select pints for $3.

You can bring in your own food, and several of the nearby restaurants have special deals on pickup or delivery for Beveridge Place customers.  I've also seen people have potlucks here!

There are board games, shuffleboard, and pool, so you won't be bored when you're drinking.  And, if you want to bring your puppy friend, you can!  Well, as long as they are well-behaved.

A visit to Beveridge Place Pub is definitely an event and a good time!

Who wouldn't love a bar that is Fido friendly and has rotating beers, vino, and ciders?

The bartenders are very knowledgeable on there brews and offer great suggestions to your pallet preferences.

Not only are they dog friendly but you can also bring in your own food or even order food into the bar.  LOVE IT!  You are not stuck with one menu option.  The possibilities are endless.

There is a ton of seating. Tables, comfy chairs, and couches. Foosball, table games, and random books for your entertainment.

I am a fan of the actual bar as well.  The wood work surrounding the bar is so intriguing and detailed.  I could stare at it for hours.

They also have an outdoor patio area during the summer.  I haven't sat out there yet but have seen it and it is covered with green shrubs and vine type plants.  A small touch of zen as I would say.

This place is good for group gatherings, decompress time after work, or just a quick break from walking your pup.  they also have parking for their customers on the side.

My one and only complaint is that they don't open till 2.  I would love to come by earlier in the day and enjoy a cider or a brew on my early days off.

This place is pretty awesome. They have a wide selection of domestic and import beers and allow dogs. And the really nice about this place is that although they allow dogs, the place doesn't smell like dogs or a pet shop.

The service is good and there's plenty of seating. This place does not serve food, but they do you allow outside food (they actually encouraged it when I was there) and you can order from a number of nearby restuarants, and many of them will deliver! Woof!

The Beer Selection is Great -
The number one reason to visit Beveridge Place Pub... the beer selection.  The list of beers on tap is pretty gigantic, and they do a good job of matching up the beer you order to the specific glass it is best served in.

    It's a busy neighborhood bar -
Normally when I think of neighborhood bars, I think of smaller, quieter places.  This place is something of an anomaly in that it has elements of both a local bar and the "it" place for drinks.  It's a pretty big place, but the bartenders seem to know the locals.  They have all sorts of games and books, and big fluffy reading chairs, but the music is pretty loud.  In short, it's a little of both, but not quite either.

    Friendly, no-nonsense service staff -
The bartenders were all very nice, but also somewhat business oriented.  It sorta reminded me of a metro signs that say, "bus driver will gladly give information, but refrain from distracting conversations."  Perfectly nice people, but I didn't "feel the love" so to speak.

    Overall -
A great place to grab a beer, but a little too loud for a place where you and your friends can play a board game or have a conversation without raising your voices.

I was impressed with the selection of unique and hard to find beers and ciders here. I worked my way down the specials cider list with a friend, and was pleasantly surprised. There were some local-ish (Sea Cider, Julian) options, as well as some not-so-local (Woodchuck, Weston). I really enjoyed sitting outside on the Beveranda (lol) and drinking cider while dog-watching.

If this were a little closer to home, I would be here a lot! It's a really nice neighborhood hangout.

This has to be my favorite unique-international-quality-only-find-here-beer place ever.   Their choice to focus on beer sets them above a lot of other places, but being able to order food for delivery or bringing it from home... seriously Seattle Indoor Picnic style!

The decor made me want to have people over as if it was my house. This place has a really unique comfortable cozy inviting vibe. You want to bring a group or just belly up to the bar and ask for a recommendation.

My one tip would be watch the prices. You are talking some seriously good stuff from countries most people can't find on a map so it can be pricey. I say splurge and opt for something really international and then come back for the second round from the locals.

PS four legged friends are welcome... as long as they are chill.

If you want to talk to people who know their beer and anything about beer, come here.
The atmospere is relaxing.  It's like being in a library in part of it with the comfy couches, bench seating.  Other side has the pool table, steel tip dart board, shuffle board and a few other games i don't know.
They are casual and encourage you to bring in your own food or order takeout/delivery.
Another plus, they allow dogs in there.  As long as your dog isn't a trouble maker.
For sports, they always show the games on the numerous tv's.

Beveridge Place Pub is a great place to go if you want to vicariously live the life of a dog owner. You know, it's like being an aunt or uncle...play with the kid, then give it back when it's being bad.  At Beveridge Place, you can pet the cute doggies, but when it's time for a bathroom break or when someone gets too aggressive, you just hand the leash back!

They have tons of beers on tap, and so far on each visit they've had at least two ciders.  Being a cider lover, I was overjoyed at the chance to try something new (and somtimes an old favorite).

BPP gets an extra star from me for having an accessible and clean bathroom.  Generally bathrooms in drinking establishments are totally gross, and seldom wheelchair accessible.  It's nice to find one that's both, at such an enjoyable location!

Their parking lot is small, but I've managed to find spots nearby without a problem.  Zeeks and Starbucks (as well as Thriftway) are nearby for food if you're hungry.

I lament not coming here sooner.

Yes, I have heard good things about the beer and trivia nights -- but West Seattle can be a gnarly bus-ride at best. I am very grateful to have been given a ride out there AND back by several fabulous yelpers, and even more grateful to have spent a lovely evening sipping on brews with even more of them there.

First off, Dog friendly! Like-- super duper dog friendly. I felt a bit naked not having Helo at my side, but made due by petting everyone's puppy that would let me. Next time, the dog is tagging along.

Next, and maybe even awesomer -- the beers. Oh my, what a large and glorious tap list.  Everything on it is desirable and surprisingly reasonably priced! Being a bit more frugal due to an impending move I somehow managed to only have 2 pints this time around, but can easily see an entire evening waxing onto a late night with several pints of delicious micro-brews behind me.

Service was quick, effecient, and friendly.

For a Saturday night the place was a-typically "not so busy." Still, it was loud here and I can only imagine the volume going up as the place gets more packed. Lighting is dark and moody, and seating ranges from sitting at the bar, to standard table, to smooshy couches to lounge upon. I dig it all.

Only light snacky foods available here -- but menus for delivery are available if you absolutely want/need something tasty to nosh upon while imbibing here.

Beveridge Place is incredible, and the dog and I will be back many-a-times in the future.

    Dear Beveridge Place,

I really really want to come to your trivia night.    You have such an inviting space and I'd love to be your loyal patron.  However, the sound system for the trivia night is so grating on my ears that not only can I not participate, but I also want to flee the building.   I thought I was the only one that felt this way... but another friend brought it up last night.     Please make your trivia night pleasing to the ears so I can come hang out and enjoy your awesome bar!

It had been a very long time since I'd been to Beveridge. So long, in fact that I still hadn't been to their new location until last night.

This is one hell of a beautiful bar; I cannot believe what it has become. There are plenty of tables and booths and lots of seating and room for everyone. It has all the community feel and coziness of the old Beveridge, but it's updated and much more spiffy than it's predecessor.

The most impressive thing about the new Beveridge, besides their crazy beer selection, is the bar. It's gorgeous. Made of dark wood, it's beautiful and I can't do it any justice trying to describe it.

I remember when this place used to be the Video Vault. They've come a long way, baby.

Make a visit here if you haven't yet. You'll love the place. I swear.

I wish my living room were like Beveridge Place. Then my living room could be full of friendly people at couches and tables enjoying each other's company. My guests would be drinking a variety of beer, wine and cocktails, with dogs by their sides.  Occasionally my guests would play board games and trivia, and host groups of smart Yelpers with goofy team names.

But my living room is not like this, so I will have to return to West Seattle again soon to enjoy this warm and welcoming space.

During December's wacky snow storms, I was house bound for two days, staring at a giant fire and drinking alone a little too much for comfort.  Things started to resemble The Shining, so I gratefully accepted an invitation to meet some friends for a beer.  I trudged through the snow for 20 minutes, and arrived at the Beveridge Place.

Walking in the doors was like entering a big hobbit living room.  Couches, comfy chairs, cozy lighting, and big, sweet dogs everywhere.  Lots of mountain-ish men dressed comfortably.  I think the Brawny paper towel guy was playing Connect Four with the Marlboro man.  It felt good, people.  Real good.

I drank a lot of cider (which is the new champagne, if you ask me).  I curled up on a couch with a Bernese Mountain Dog at my feet.  I felt like Lucy in Mr. Tumnus' house, without the buzzkill of the White Witch.

This place is a gem, and feels like West Seattle's home away from home.

A little after-show after-funk with the crew and cast of Bullshot Crummond found me here last night.

I am really kicking myself for not making the last WSHH if they went here!

I loved this bar. The only catch, for me, is it is only beer and wine. Since I'm usually a *just one drink, maybe two* kind of girl most of the time, that limits me and I don't like boundaries and rules that I can't break.

However, I did have a taste or two of Betsy's drink choices, a mudshark and some fancy beer we dubbed "queen of bologna" when no one could pronounce it.

This is the kind of bar I wish I had in my neighborhood. Sprawling mixture of tables, bars, and TONS of stuff to do!

Pool tables, REAL darts, foosball, board games and some sort of bowling game.  Well, it's little pins and a ball on a string you swing to knock down pins...that likely has some fancy (or obviously simple) name that I don't know.

The staff and patrons were all friendly, everyone having a good time.

Parking wasn't too difficult, even at that hour on a Friday and with the place pretty packed.

I've unfortunately had a few reviews where I detail something is just "missing" at a bar or club to really make it 'work'. That is decidedly NOT an issue here.

    And they are dog friendly!!!

Can we have an Elite event here? Or at least another WSHH so I have reasons to return over and over?!?
