Pros: friendly waitstaff, awesome patio seating, local crowd
Cons: bland and not so fresh food, local crowd
I have mixed feelings about this place. Relative to restaurants in Dorchester, it's great but by any other standard....I'd rather not come here. I've tried the soups and pasta here as well as the fried appetizers. Everything is terribly under seasoned and tastes like its been hanging out for a while, cool dude.
Not your average pub grub! The menu is inspired, the drinks are great! We loved the lobster mac and cheese and the raspberry margaritas! Â A great after work joint. There is a nice outdoor patio but the noise would let you know that you are still in Fields Corner. The McDonald's cup flying over the fence at a retirement party that I attend a while back was not very pleasing.
Review Source:Went to Blarney Stone last night for dinner with a girlfriend, this was the 2nd time I had been there and I absolutely had to write a review. Keep in mind, this is on a Saturday night, during the Bruins Eastern Conference. We were greeted almost immediately, we asked for a table by the window which hadn't been cleaned yet and the hostess immediately cleaned the table and sat us. Our server was over in a matter of minutes to take our drink order, I ordered the sex on the beach and my friend the house made Martini, which was absolutely delicious. Later, we ordered the duck spring rolls and arancini for an appetizer, I had never had the arancini and had wanted to try, trust me when I tell you, they are an absolute MUST ORDER. They were DELICIOUS. For an entree, I ordered the pear and goat cheese ravioli and my friend the steak salad. The ravioli was AMAZING, I honestly wanted to kiss the chef. This place is fantastic!!!!!!!!!! The food, ambiance, decor are all on point and so are the employees. I plan to keep coming back many more times. As I told my friend, this will be the spot until I taste everything on the menu :)
Review Source:My friend and I were here for trivia night. We ate dinner while here. We got a couple of pizzas. I had a steak and cheese pizza. It was pretty interesting and pretty good. The crowd is eclectic. I found the food to be a little pricey but I wasn't really disappointed. It appears to be much more than your basic pub fare. Â There was a nice vibe in the place. I would go back. The trivia was fun and we came in second place! :)
Review Source:OK- I used to love this place. Â It was my go-to for after work dinner and drinks. Â Everyone always liked the relaxed atmosphere, good drinks and fresh food. Â However, the last few times that I have stopped by have been rather dissapointing.
The service is not as friendly as it used to be, lots of surly girls wandering around.
The food is really just not good and they appear to have increased the portion size to make up for the mediocre flavor/preparation. Â
Probably won't be back here for a while in hopes that they turn things around again- I miss my good 'ole standby.
A neighborhood bar that tries to go a step above that a succeeds. Catch the game and have a reasonably priced beer or sit down and have a good meal. Blarney Stone had created a decent menu that's more than bar food...but they have that too. And there are enough TV sets that a homesick Chicagoan like me can occasionally watch a Bears or White Sox game.
Review Source:I have now visited the Blarney Stone twice, and both times I've left rather unimpressed. Once was for drinks after work, the other time was to sit down for dinner. As for the bar, it's a bar with booze...though they do have a couple beers on draft you don't see everywhere else. The food here is actually really good, which is the only reason I gave it as many stars as I did.
The real problem here is the service. While we had no problem getting a table, everything thereafter was downhill. After we were seated it was roughly 20 minutes before a server showed up to take our order, and that was only after we asked the hostess walking by where our server was. Finally, I think the bartender came over to take our order. 1 out of the 2 drinks was wrong. The food that we finally got was good. Over the course of the meal, our server came to our table twice...which is the same amount of times the busser/hostess came to our table. Unfortunately, I used a <a href="/redir?url=http%3A%2F%2FRestaurant.com&s=0aab4cbd731f3d3b0d1453050d3abc56a8c80bd214e25469c7555b750dca8a51" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://Restaurant.com</a> gift certificate here (only reason I came in the first place) so I was forced to pay a 20% gratuity, which they certainly did not deserve.
This place is within walking distance of my home and I rarely go here, every experience has been sub-standarad. Most recent visit ,tonight, will be my last. Â Overheard staff complaining about guests.
Re-read this review. Hard to over-stress how unpleasant  hearing staff complain about the patrons is. My friend and I left our overpaid drinks untouched, and canceled order we were hoping for.
The oasis of Fields Corner. Â Excellent food. Â Classy establishment. Â A lot of bars in the area are full of thugs, gangstas, white trash, tishfaced jerks. Â Usually not here. Â Just normal people having a few drinks and every once in a while some dancing takes place. Â So if you think "u hard" go someplace else.
Review Source:A local Hot Spot! I've lived in Dorchester for over 4 years and my fiancee and I go there at least once a week.
We alwasy get the special treatment. Â Dave the bartender/owner is a riot and Ben also the owner is just so nice always makes you feel like family. Â Great people all together. Â
The food is fantastic, they have regular bar food ( I love their buffalo nachos and sliders) but they also spice it up with a 'Special Menu" which changes each week.
I went here last night and ordered a burger. The burger was great and the cooks are very fast. The place was nice and quiet, despite having a bunch of televisions for sport channels. Pretty easy to get to and you can park next door in the grocery store lot.
I didn't get anything to drink besides water, so I can't comment on the drink selection.
Love it here! This place has become a favorite of me and the boyfriend's. We were on our way to get pho when we walked by and say hey, this looks like a nice place to eat instead (and they had bunch of tv's for the bf on a football sunday). So, we sat in and looked at the menu and my face lit up when I saw french dip. For those outside of boston, french dip isn't known in boston for who knows what reason. Until a few of my friends outside boston described it and I knew I had to try it! So I haven't encountered it until now and I'm happy I did at blarney stone. We went again another day for the french dip and chili and it just makes my tummy happy! The food is good, the atmosphere is good, and service is great.
Review Source:Had a quick dinner at the Blarney Stone last night with a friend. Â We sat at the bar and shared the chicken parm and the lobster & shrimp mac n' cheese. Â Both dishes were delicious! The chicken parm was sweet but not overly so, and was cooked perfectly. Â the mac and cheese was more shrimpy than lobstery, but had a well-seasoned, melty, creamy cheese sauce and fresh peas with a crispy cracker crust. Â I was surprised how empty the restaurant was at 7:30pm, but the service was fast and the bartender was pleasant. Â Using a <a href="/redir?url=http%3A%2F%2Frestaurant.com&s=c5fe485af4df376130bee54f875814d79c4d7913e1258123b1206d2bdbf4873b" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://restaurant.com</a> coupon, it only cost $15 a person! sweet deal.
Review Source:The place is a good contrast to the other restaurants in the Fields Corner area and there is plenty of street parking on Dot Ave. The bar looked like a great spot for happy hour drinks and appetizers. Our server was friendly with just the right amount of attentiveness.
We started with the shrimp and crab cakes with mango salsa from the tapas menu. The plate looked promising but one bite and we concluded that looks are deceiving. The cook must have turned the heat too high as the outside was seared to a crisp but the inside was mush. The mango salsa was mango salsa, chunks of mango with tomato and cilantro mixed in. For entrees - the boy had the BBQ steak tips with mashed potatoes, broccoli and carrots while I had the French Dip sandwich with french fries. The portions were adequate. The steak tips were well cooked and tasted great but the BBQ sauce was salty as was the gravy they put on the mashed potatoes. The sandwich was fine though nothing spectacular considering it set me back $12 bucks. The sandwich was relatively bland but the au jus was oh-my-god salty. In hindsight, the fries were probably the best part of my plate (props to the fry cook!).
The place is a bit overpriced for what it is considering the plates were just average. We most likely will return for drinks and small bites, but pass on the entrees.
You know what sucks? Going to a place you know is awesome for a while and then just having the worst experience ever.
Before we even sat down for a late brunch we asked the hostess if it was too late to get brunch. She said "we stop serving at 3". Which was neither a yes or no but we were starving so we just went for it at 2:45.
My husband and I ordered very quick very basic breakfasts and got 2 rushed messes on plates.
He ordered an omelet which was super runny on the inside.
Mine was supposed to be 2 eggs sunny side up with a side of bacon.
No bacon and toast at first. Asked for the bacon...got a plate of something that resembled charred leather. Didn't even want to touch it so I sent it back .
We ordered toast for each and got 2 slices of stale looking bread to split.
The homefries looked like they barely touched heat. The onions were still white.
Never got our waters.
C'mon guys.
Just as a first caution, if you're looking for an Irish pub, this is not the place. Â It's a great place, yet not authentic whatsoever.
Essentially, they're the answer to those living in the Dot who want a place that falls in between the dives and the ritzes. Â It's about DBar caliber, though not as overpriced. Â The mussels I had were nearly perfect, though not outstanding. Â The veggie burger my friend had was weird and undercooked.
The drinks were not exceptional yet they were acceptable. Â I started with a Smithwicks, moved on to their Sidecar (not the original, yet fantastic nonetheless), a Pimm's cup (they had Pimm's so hurray, yet the bartender didn't quite know how to make the cup the right way) and then another Sidecar. Â My friend's something-or-other Mojito was interesting, and the champagne Cosmo was made with bubblegum vodka (Excuse me?!)
Our server was fantastic. Â She made it work. Â I'd probably go in at some point for an afternoon cocktail but not for a night out again. Â Or for dinner. Â And I give an A for effort to the girls who really tried to make it happen with dancing near our table. Â Not quite, ladies.
I generally avoid Irish-sounding places, but this place is top notch.
They have a fantastic drinks selection, good service, delicious food, wonderful atmosphere and if your ears are tuned in enough the music they play is pretty phenomenal as well. It's a bit pricey but I think it's worth it for the value.
Blarney Stone has been a hang out spot for me and my friends. It was nice to see it change from a local, Irish pub to such a classy pub/restaurant. I used to remember when they had a dance floor, great DJ, pools, and games but that were years ago! I absolutely love the outdoor area. It is so nice to be able to sit outside, enjoy the beers, and company in the middle of Fields Corner (*wink). I haven't been back there since 2010.
Anyhow, my hubby and I went to Blarney Stone on Monday to waste some time while our eyes were dilated from an earlier eye appointment. I was amazed by the new set-up. The waitress was really nice to us. She was very attentive to our needs as we cannot read the menu since our eyes were dilated. =)
We ordered the following:
- Pulled pork tacos - absolutely delicious, juicy, and fresh (love the hint of lime)
- Panko breaded chicken tenders - nice, tender, and not too bready
- Steak and cheese on a french bread, panini style - love it! The cheese melt in my mouth
- Mini cheeseburgers - the best sliders I have so far! It is a compact, juicy sliders!
We were very satisfy with the food! And we are looking to come back to try their brunch menu.... maybe when the weather get warmer so i can sit outside and enjoy my breakfast!
The place is awesome.
I've hosted countless Christmas, birthday, and midsummer parties there. The staff are warm and friendly. During the holidays, it's decked out nicely with a beautiful fireplace.
It's a relaxing, warm, and friendly place to grab a pint and their RIDICULOUSLY GOOD lamb shank over risotto.
Done over at least twice in the revamp about a dozen years ago. I like the "new" atmosphere and how they're good at keeping the empty cup shaking crazies that have been indigenous to that area the last two-score years "at bay" on the other side of their front threshold.
Seems to be a key "after work" rendevous place for area professionals & local law types ranging from Banks, Law Offices, Salons, Utilities, BPD, BFD, SP, FBI, and of course, "OFD" ( If you have to ask, consider yourself a carpetbagger). Average sized selection but an always excellent menu. I've never been aware of specials there, though...that'd be the icing on the cake.
Wait, am I still in Dorchester? *confused* as I walk in. This place is niceeeee. Hmmm, I'm still a little concerned - we're right next to Fields Corner station. Should I be worried? NOT AT ALL!
We've driven by the Blarney Stone so many times and had never dropped in. I had one of those awesome <a href="/redir?url=http%3A%2F%2Frestaurant.com&s=c5fe485af4df376130bee54f875814d79c4d7913e1258123b1206d2bdbf4873b" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://restaurant.com</a> coupons and finally decided to use it. We were very impressed with the decor, service and food. Feels like a hip and trendy pub for South Boston not for Dorchester -Fields Corner. Pretty cool spot.
The food was good, a little pricey, but they have great happy hour options. Give them a try if you have the <a href="/redir?url=http%3A%2F%2Frestaurant.com&s=c5fe485af4df376130bee54f875814d79c4d7913e1258123b1206d2bdbf4873b" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://restaurant.com</a> coupon like we did.
I'll be returning soon!
Been to Blarney several times since my first review. Food is still decent, and the service is decent, as well. Â
Problem is management. The bald man who claims to be the "manager/owner" is RUDE and OBNOXIOUS. This is behavior I have witnessed on 3 separate occasions when people have had issues with their food, and subsequently wanted their checks adjusted. Â In each case, he argued with the customer, raised his voice, and was just downright nasty.
I keep saying that I am not going back, but the place is such a good location, and the food and staff are decent. Â Ugh. Guess I am going to have to let the convenience go, and head over to the Ledge or Ashmont Grill. Â
What a shame.
Dorchester gets a bad rap. Sure, it's a bit sketchy at times, and having walked from South Station to JFK, and from JFK to Field's Corner, I wouldn't recommend it to my little sister, particularly not in the semi-dark of a post-daylight-savings-time evening. Still, get on the train and get down to the Blarney Stone and give it a shot - particularly if they're having a special tasting menu like the one I stumbled into.
Some friends were having a party and I got a tip from a life-long Dorchester resident that Blarney was worth checking out - great food and a stellar bar. The BF and I headed in a little before 7; little did we know that they were having a special 6-course tasting menu with matched beers from the Brooklyn Brewery. Wowza.
I flipped through the regular menu, and it looked nice. Reasonable prices, a wide range of apps, sandwiches, entrees - looked one step up from average pub fare. But the tasting menu intrigued us with promises of wild boar and elk sausages, eggplant cannoli, beef stew, sweet potatoes au gratin, beer-battered cod, and pumpkin cheesecake. Each paired with a different cold beer. Yessir, I'll have one of those.
The food was good. No, the food was great. The stew had just the right amount of spices - cloves, nutmeg - to remind you of the holidays as a child. The cod was ever-so-lightly fried, not soggy, not greasy, just perfect, with a fantastic tartar sauce (not just mayo and relish, let me tell you). The pumpkin cheesecake was excellent - not too sweet, just right, paired with BB's chocolate stout. Yum!
Portions were big, considering we were getting 6 courses. I would have probably been happy with 3, not to mention the 6 half-pints of beer that accompanied. The whole thing cost the two of us $55. That's right, $55 a couple (could have also gotten one for $30). My boyfriend glutted himself to the point of sickness, and couldn't enjoy the party we went to for some hours, but Blarney Stone, I won't hold that against you. I can't wait to join you for your upcoming tequila tasting - and the next time I wander that far south on Dot Ave I'll be sure to stop in for a meal.
So you know the rule about real estate? Â Location, location, location. Â It doesn't matter how nice your house is if the neighborhood is inconvenient, dangerous, or no fun. Â A good neighborhood makes your life a lot better and, as a bonus, increases your home price faster. Â (Or, uh, it used to, before the economy exploded. Â But that's another story.)
Anyway, this bar is the complete opposite. Â It's in Dorchester. Â A few blocks away is crime, dirt, despair, an atmosphere of fear, and generally undesirable conditions.
But this actually works in the Blarney Stone's favor. Â There's no way they could have such nice digs, such ample parking, and such good deals if they were in a trendy party of town.
The Blarney Stone is class act. Â Tasty meals, welcoming wait-staff, much wood furniture and even more space. Â As if there weren't enough space *inside* the bar, there's a peaceful and lovely patio right next to the bar.
But here's the best part: Â it's an honest-to-goodness bargain. Â The expertly-prepared food is mostly just at average prices but the dinner specials from Sunday-through-Wednesday are only $5. Â For a real meal. Â No way you're going to beat that.
The cheap food is pretty plain-jane, e.g., spaghetti and meatballs or a cheeseburger. Â But it's cheap! Â And if you're willing to kick in for the "real" menu, you'll be treated to some damn good cooking.
Did I mention that there are also plenty of TVs so you never have to miss a minute of the game? Â
It's no wonder so many different people--from lone wolves to large groups--find their way to Blarney Stone.
The place is a gem.
I absolutely love the crab cake sandwich. Â If you like crab - and quality crab cakes - you'll love it! Â
The Blarney Stone is a great place for good food and drink, a relaxed and hip atmosphere and seeing anyone and everyone there. Â I love that they are open to the community as well, welcoming in the afterwork professionals and various organizations.
It's big, it has pool tables, and folks of every race, color and creed drink here. Â That's not a bad combination at all. Â I hugged a wall and did some people watching, since the splendid mix of South Shore "Yeah Dudes," women in pants that were clearly sprayed on and enormous guys in do rags gave me more entertainment than anything that could've been on TV on a Saturday night.
The parking is ample, with a supermarket lot around the corner, which was a nice touch. Â If you're in the area and, for some odd reason, don't want to go to an actual Irish pub, this is a good alternative.
No, you probably won't be finding any old Irish guys with wool sweaters and scally hats at the Blarney Stone in Dorchester (you might try the Erie Pub for that or Doyles in JP). No, no, the Blarney is one of the newer cleaned up joints in Fields Corner that is methinks a pretty damn good reason to check out DOT.
The place has a real nice wide open feel to it with plenty of seating at the bar if that is your thing. They have an OK beer list and the same goes for wine. If food is your thing they have a full range of app's from mini cheeseburgers and mussels and entrees from burgers to sweet potato and shrimp gnocchi. I had the burger with onion rings, the onion rings were the best Ive had in a long time - though pretty yuppie (meaning they were shoe string style and not greasy). The prices were a little high, but not unreasonable. I think we paid about $60 for 2 burgers and 3 beers, 3 scotchs.
The vibe is pretty casual. Plenty of room for hanging out with a big crowd and also plenty of small tables for you more intimate bar hounds. If you've been to the Dogwood in JP the Blarney will remind you of that a little but, but not on a weekend night when the DJ comes on and people starting bumping up on you. I can also say that you will probably run into at least one really drunken local who is being taken care by the very friendly bar staff, after all this is Dorchester.
Pros: there is street and lot parking. Nice ambiance, especially for Dorchester. A diverse crowd, more so than what I typically see in downtown Boston bars. Service was good.
Cons: food was nothing special. Mini burgers were crispy and a bit dry, but you may like them that way. Fried calamari was a little bland. Beer selection was okay, but when i ordered a black and tan it was more tan than black.
They do have trivia with a cash prize, but you have to get all twenty questions. I think this might be a job for the Seatards.
I was a wee bit wary of this place when it first opened....as we provincial and territorial Dot Rats tend to be. Â I was worried about it being a case study in the urban hipster pretentiousness that comes with neighborhood gentrification. Â I used to drink at the Blarney back when it was little more than a dank cave filled with low, desperate moans and occasional screams.
But eventually...I overcame my ossified This-neighborhood-is-mine ways and visited a few times. Â And I have to say I love it and it's a welcome addition to the 'hood.
The crowd is more diverse in terms of age and race than your average bar in this area. Â That's good for someone like me who is old enough to disdain the "Woo...me so drunk!" crowd (they can be found next door at the Emerald Isle) but is too young for hotel lobby piano bars.
I don't think we're in Field's Corner anymore.
Step into the Blarney Stone and see a potpourri of peeps dining and drinking, a contempo bar, cozy booths, a vast floor for playing pool or dancing. Â
Step outside the Blarney Stone and you will surely be bummed for bus fare. Â
You've got the best of Dorchester here with all ages and races represented, with fare prices to boot. Â Most of the main entrees (chicken ziti brocc, meat and taters) came in under $10, at least for the half portions, which makes this place a great neighborhood reliable for honest food at an honest price. Â
It's true I haven't spoken any blarney out on the side patio, but I'm gestating a small human right now and the cigarette smoke wafting off the patio last evening kept me at bay. Â I haven't been dancing on a Saturday night either (see also: Â gestating small human) so I cannot speak to that experience. Â However, the free parking and expansive dance floor would entice me as opposed to the often overcrowded dance destinations of Central Sq. or the overhooched variety of Lansdowne. Â
Would have added a fifth star here but our waitress was wearing her eager beaver shoes and it is clearly just not necessary to ask guests if they can be started with an appetizer more than once. Â Or twice.
The blaa-ney stone.... Remember, you don't say R's here. We caravanned over here with a big group of G's friends from Dorchester on our last night in boston. Big bar, out door patio area, packed.
It was a good night. I got a drunk dial from an old roommate, had a dance contest on the dance floor with a bunch of girls and then tried to break up a bar fight..... you know, because I'm the most logical and diplomatic person in the world after a few drinks. Then later that night I almost went skinny dipping in the pool, changed my mind and instead played Dr Phil to a heartbroken guy at G's house and watched the sun come up.
The blaa-ney stone is THE place to go on the weekends around this area.... The people are all cute and drunk here and the drinks are astonishingly cheap by SF standards..... cute drunk people and cheap drinks are definitely a good combination. I had fun here. For sure would hang out here again if i had the chance.
I work in Dorchester...Have to tell you that this place reminds me of an upscale pub in New York. Â Its a huge bar with a big screen on the wall with a couple scattered TVs throughout. Â There is also a dining area and a decent sized patio for days that are not cold like today(April 4 sleet).
Its a pretty mixed laid back crowd with a DJ spinning tunes, and the food especially the pub food is unusually good. Â The manager, Ben, is a great guy. Â
A very unique find in suburban Dorchester
First of all ... let's be clear ... this is a "bar" with a restaurant on the side ... not a restaurant with a bar. Â The quality of the food is a plus ... NOT the reason you're there. ... But this food "can be" very good.
But let's start with the bar. Â In hard core blue collar ethnic Fields Corner ... and often referred to as "Little Saigon" ... it's stylishly hip ... but also neighborhood comfortable. Â With sports on the TVs, pool tables, it's sort of a hip "Cheers"! ... But how do you describe that it just feels good. Â I've been there with people from outside the area (that still think of Dorchester or Fields Corner with the old negative stereotypes) Â who walk in and agree it just "feels comfortable".
A recent "Boston Phoenix" review of the nearby "Ashmont Grille" mentioned that, though being in quite a mixed neighborhood, the Ashmont Grille crowd was mostly young, white, hip. Â I've been at the "Blarney" when there were older Dorchester Irish at the bar, young hip YUPPIES at at the restaurants, and blacks, Hispanics, young, old, gays everywhere else ... you name it .... EVERYONE is welcome. Â
The food can be very good. Â I'm not a potato person so I'll go for lunch and have "fish .. without the chips". Â They add a mixed green salad. Â The fish is fried (yes) but still lite (cod or haddock) flaky and wonderful. Â The prior chef used to veer towards sweet salads dressings (which I don't like), but now there more neutral ... not sweet .. but not all vinegar.. really very good.
They used to serve marinated grilled lamb on a stick on a bed of mixed green salad which I LOVED (the warmth of the lamb and the cool of the salad) but they changed it to lamb on a bed of garlic mashed potatoes. Â As I said, I'm not a potato person, but they have ALWAYS been willing to give me the lamb on a salad. Â They're very nice.
Lamb dinners are very good. Â Burgers are great. Â They're now serving a sort of "string" fried onions ... wonderful. Â (A great place in New York (The Olde Castle on 54th Street) used to call them "drizzled onions".) Â Smoked Chicken Quesadillas are wonderful, and the Vegetable Quesadillas I had at a recent fund raiser were far better than I expected. (though the salsa is not my favorite). I would prefer less batter on the fried calamari ... but I don't dislike it (though the dip they give you is forgettable ... ask for some Tabasco)
I Love the place. Â But all is not perfect. Â
They have a wonderful "warm spinach" salad ... but once it was served on an ice cold plate.  (can you say "cold bacon fat"?).  They have  a (could be) wonderful "Sesame Chicken Salad".  Could Be???? it was fried chicken in a sesame batter and way too much sesame vinegar in the dressing (Less sesame vinegar and grilled chicken and I'll eat it regularly).
But remember ... it's a bar ... with a restaurant.
I love the place ... it ain't perfect .... but you ain't paying for perfection. Â You're paying for a comfortable environment where EVERYONE is welcome and comfortable, Â and maybe having a good ... no ... a very good meal. Â
One of my favorites
It's funny P.D refers to this establishment as an "oasis", b/c I share the same sentiment. Â Before D-Bar or the Ashmount Grille there was the Blarney. Â Try the pasta dish or the nachos. Â Stay away from the Basil Martini. Â Lately the brunch menu has gotten really nice; ranging from Eggs Bennie & Irish Breakfast to Frittatas. Â On a nice day it's all about the very private patio.
If you ever find yourself there later in the evening you can go next-door to the Emerald Isle and dance to cheesy top 40 hip hop. Ask for Paul, he makes em strong.
The Blarney closes earlier than the Isle so people usually drift next door or beyond to the Banshee.
