I have mixed feelings about this place. Â I often visit from a local business.
Pros: Â The service has usually been very good during lunch. Â As long as you dine IN the restaurant. Â I've had one lovely woman server a couple times, and she is attentive and very nice. Â
It's nice that they've made their menu relatively healthy and follow the book "Super Foods." Â Their sweet potato fries and reuben sandwich, their burger, and chicken sandwich have all been very good. Â Their salads (except their salmon salad) are generously portioned with a complex and pleasing flavor. Â
They brew Starbucks coffee... and coming from a local business, love that since I can't stand Panera or Einstein Bros. coffee.
Cons: Â Their website has no phone number to be seen anywhere. Â I can't even find it to place a to go order.
I've tried calling before to order a salad to go, and several times the phone rings off the hook. Â One afternoon in particular, I called and was put on hold for what seemed like an eternity. Â I was speaking to a woman about their menu online, which apparently is not up-to-date. Â She was not helpful whatsoever about the current menu, in fact, when I was mid-sentence about just going somewhere else, she practically hung up on me and couldn't get off the phone fast enough.
Overall, I go back because the food is good and has been consistent on the dozen or so times I've dined there. Â The restaurant does seem kind of disinterested in customers... and that's off-putting... but I kind of like being left alone and not hassled for my business, so it works OK for me.
This is a small restaurant/bar inside the Westin Hotel. The bar area was cozy enough, and made for a nice "starting point" and/or  "night cap" after a long day or evening. One evening we ordered some appetizers: Wings and Alligator bites. The wings were pretty good; but the alligator bites were very chewy and the breading didn't seem to compliment the flavor well. I've had fried alligator bites in Florida before and - done right - they can be very tasty. Good selection of single malt scotches was a plus.
Review Source:Went to a conference held in this hotel, thus it was an option. I did have the salmon sandwich which was actually pretty good, but the other things on the menu were bland. Â It's so busy during lunch and happy hour, service get slow, but they need more servers during that time which may help expedite service. I sat at the bar so it should have been relatively quick but nope. I tried it several times, but as I said before, I really only enjoyed the salmon sandwich. If I had to pay out of pocket, I'm not sure I'd want to spend my money here unless other options in KC were closed. Typical over priced hotel bar food.
