I live across the street from this place. As in I wake up in the morning, go to the living room, open my shades and BAM! It's a bit annoying because sometimes it's hard to find parking in the neighborhood. But in the end, I'm the one smirking at the people who get tickets for parking in a permit parking neighborhood. C'est la vie!

My friend and I ordered the buffalo nachos, which were surprisingly good. I thought they were going to be limp and overloaded with cheese. I got the boneless wings and he got a grilled chicken wrap. It was all alright. Our server was nice, a bit too nice. As in "shared too much about her life" nice.

For Bridgeport, I think it's nice to have a large place to watch sports and eat with your family. Everywhere else are bars that aren't family friendly. If you want wings, you're probably off eating at Buffalo Wild Wings or Wingstop. But if you're looking for something more local and someplace not as busy and more kid friendly, come on over!

I ordered here for the first time tonight. My order was carryout-- traditional wings/boneless wings. This place is mediocre at best. When I got home I had no napkins, celery, blue cheese dressing. Also, I asked for ketchup for the "half-cooked" fries with no salt and that was missing too. The place was overall clean and 'sportsbar-ish'. Aside from the wings being freshly cooked they were nothing to write home about. Another 30 bucks down the drain ... such is life.

This is the best place to go watch a bears game, when the bears are doing well of course!

The food is great, drinks options are good, try the mango Bango if you're into fruity drinks! The staff is always cool!

I have never had bad time here, and if you are coming for the game then make sure you get in an hour before, it gets so crowded!!!

I'll keep it short and sweet - GREAT PRICES!  The wings may not be the absolute best I've ever had but they were better than average for sure.  I thought the beer selection was great and the prices for game day were amazing!  Lots of $2 beers to choose from, which is a real rarity in the city.

The service was excellent, atmosphere was great.  We ended up just walking to the field because we wanted to but the free parking alone was worth the trip.  This is a must-go-to place for pre-sox games!

Come for the game day valet and stay because you would feel guilty if you didn't buy anything.

There are only a few thing I like about this place: game day valet and shuttle service, chicken egg rolls (which are just from a distributer), and the tap water. Mainly the only reason I'm giving it three stars is because of the great shuttle service. Overall I think the food, beer, and service aren't good at all.

I've been going here for because of Sox games for two seasons and have only eaten their wings and rings once. The beer available there is subpar and usually poured horribly. The service is comprised of individuals that are forgetful and unobservant. Multiple times my plate has been quickly taken away when I'm clearly not finished. Also, several of our table's orders have been completely messed up or forgotten. Lastly, stop serving chicken in bowls.

I love the food and drinks at this joint. It gets a little wild and sometimes the service can lack a little attentiveness but its a good spot for sports and dining.

I am surprised to see some of the bad reviews after one visit to this place. I am a north sider and let's face it am spoiled when it comes to Wrigleyville. So many places to go before and after a game.
I was happy to see a spot where people can grab a few drinks and some food not far from Sox park. The service was really good, our server was very helpful and made sure to check on us just enough though our meal.
Sunday special... 4.00 bloody mary's and a few other specials on PBR tall boys ect. The bloody was good because they did not use some ketchup based nasty mix, it was light and spicy! I ordered a side car and the server looked confused, it's Wisconsin thing I guess...anyhoots he was happy to give me a pint of Lite on tap as I requested.
The onion rings were really good, you can tell that they are not frozen.  We ordered boneless wings in three flavors and some delicious hand cut fries.
I was happy that the wings were not battered to heavily .You can choose the level of heat you want per sauce.
Overall a good place to catch a game. The manager came over to ask how we enjoyed ourselves and being a manager in the service industry myself I was impressed with the staff and our food was good.
I think it would also be a great place to catch some college football on Saturdays:)

After my last review I was done with this place. Even though I love hot wings and live in the same neighborhood I was annoyed with them enough to just let them go and never look back. And I did so for about four months. No Wings or Rings for me. But then I got a message. Just a nice message from a manager inviting me and my wife to come in for dinner and give them another chance. Call me a sucker but I fell for the friendly gesture and decided to once again give them one more go. I'm glad I did.

The wings here aren't the greatest but they're good. When they come out cooked to order they have a good amount of meat, a nice crisp, well sauced, and come along with a delicious thick blue cheese dressing. Though I usually stay with the Original Buffalo sauce I explored some and tried both their cajun and sweet chili traditional wings. Sweet chili, with a nice sweet and spicy taste about them, was a nice change of pace and the cajun sauce is actually my new favorite. I didn't get any fries this time but my wife did and she said they were nice and crispy. The wings were good. The beer refreshing. The service friendly and attentive. But what made this visit great was the simple fact that my vegetarian wife tried something new and really enjoyed her black bean burger. Guacamole, cheddar, onion, tomato, cucumber, and chipotle mayo on a black bean patty. Before this discovery she always had to eat fries or their chips and guacamole and little else. Now she can have a very tasty more filling meal while I'm chowing down on my wings. For a meat eater with a vegetarian wife finding a quality veggie option in a hot wing sports bar is quite a big deal.

It has been a hot and cold relationship with this place but I'm optimistic. I had a great visit with some great food and all because the manager of this restaurant cared enough to reach out and try to make things better. And he did. I've been yelping for about three years now and this was the first time a restaurant offered to fix their wrongs. Just for that I gladly came back. The food and service I experienced insured I will continue to do so.

Lets be clear the food  and service are not good and the drinks are nothing special, but thanks to the Sox shuttle service I will be back.

This bar has standard beers on tap and much to my annoyance their domestic specials do not include Goose Island products ( which is as domestic as it gets in Chicago). The wings aren't good as it seems they are all the same and just dipped in sauce before being scooped in an old salad bowl and given to you in a puddle of luke warm sauce. There onion rings and mozzarella sticks, however, are decent enough.

The reason I find myself here from time to time is because they have a vallet and shuttle service to White Sox games. If not for the glorious service I would never come to this bar. Because the guy who drives the shuttle and the vallet guys are so nice I try to at least get a drink here before the game to support their business.

The also have a yelp check in offer for 15% off food ( not booze). However no one seems to have heard of this offer and my waitress looked pretty confused when I tried to use it. I did the discount and get to the game via the shuttle.

    Go sox

I came here twice; I came here once with my sister and another with my boyfriend. The service sucked soon after you ordered. I ordered the wings with blue cheese. I got a ranch sauce instead. Had to find the waitress, flag her down and tell her I ordered blue cheese. She walked by me twice and took more than ten minutes for me to get the blue cheese. My boyfriend got up for me to talk to the manager, but stopped to realize she finally brought it out. She apologized but what happened to such a wait time for something so simple? Took her several trips to realize she forgot about me.

The food was alright, not the best considering it tasted like fried wings that were previously frozen.

I heard they have an off the menu flavor for the wings, somethng like atomic sauce.

I don't know if I want to come back, I frequently crave for wings, but the service really tells me to not come back.

On the other hand for sports fans, this might be the place. There are television screens everywhere you turn. They have high stools by the bar area and bigger screen. The service can definitely improve.

The also include a private lot in the back. Need to be careful considering the spots are pretty narrow.

    Hmm this place is okay.
The wings are good but I don't like the sauce that much. I ask is the medium buffalo wings are spicy and the waiter said not at all. When it came it was so spicy that I only ate 2 piece out if 10. Also when I was ordering I said I want it with bones and it came boneless and the waiter was like u hav to say traditional. Well how am I suppose to no. And he didn't seem happy when I told him to change it. I'll still be back and even if I do 80% of coming back is for the claw machine.

Two Stars for Hosts. She completely looked over me...and asked people behind me...she just had a sour look on her face super attitude all night.

Charles was our server....he was ok, flustered....sweaty....it wasn't bad service but it wasn't good service....He didn't harrass us about holding a table while our friends arrived....

Managers : Note to managers.....if you do not want people holding tables....then DO NOT SEAT THEM UNTIL THEIR FULL PARTY HAS ARRIVED! But eye balling my table makes me feel awkward and uncomfortable.

Food is ok...this place is cool but it's no Bdubs.

I was surprised at how good the food was after reading all of the reviews.  My boyfriend and I were very pleased.  We both got orders of boneless wings and split an order of onion rings.  The onion rings were standard with a nice dipping sauce.  The thing we were most impressed with was the size of the wings.  The breading is different than BW3s, not as thick and less crunchy, but not soggy at all.  The size of them were double of bdubbs.  Bdubbs boneless have become a joke, but I digress.  The wings were moist and pure white meat.  You get your moneys worth here.

The service was good. Granted it was a Monday evening, so during or after a Sox game it might be different.

There is a parking lot, but it is small.  Even so, there is plenty of meter parking all over or normal street parking if you walk down 35th, just don't park there on game day.

All in all, I enjoyed this place.

We have stopped in a couple times after White Sox games and have always had a good time.

Street parking is tough, but they offer valet service and have additional lots for you to find a place to park. Plenty of TV's, decent food and drink menus, and our waitresses have always been friendly and attentive. Depending on the day they  usually have food/drink specials too. The wings have always been good, and sauces are similar to BWW. Fries and onion rings were alright too. I've read the reviews... and complaints... about the sauce, but our wings have always been tasty, and plenty hot. The bowl of bleu cheese sauce is a must for a good size order of wings, if you're into bleu cheese with your wings.

Not sure about everyone else, but it's a good place to stop in after a Sox game. Big screen TV's, beer, and wings. They're alright in my book.

Wow! I can't say I've ever had bad wings in my life, but this place somehow managed to make this happen.

The meat itself is "okay", but their sauce is atrocious. First of all, the whole place smells of vinegar as you walk in, and you quickly discover that the sauce is the culprit.

The sauces are absolutely flavorless, and at "medium" contain exactly zero heat.

The prices are INSANE. They even charge you for a tiny little container of Blue Cheese.

This place is trying to be some kind of a Buffalo Wings knockoff, and it fails miserably. For good wings, make a trip over to Wing Stop. For half the price, you'll get twice the food, and 10x the flavor. Or any local bar for that matter - they usually do a much better job of making wings.

The only redeeming quality was the waitress - she was friendly and attentive. But when I go out to eat, I want to spend my $$ on good food - not on smiles.

This place has lots of potential. Good TVs, clean, good sports bar/guy's menu. However the service was super slow, and why ask how I want my burger cooked when the all come out extra well done anyway?

This was my first visit, but I will def be going back to try other stuff & at different times. I recommend it for hanging out, watching a game & having a beer/apps.

I visited Buffalo Wings and Rings for the first time with my friends today.

The food was good, but they should work on their service. My friend ordered a gyros with cheesy potato wedges on the side. When we got our order, not only did they forget the cheese, they also gave her french fries instead. Of course we thought of it as an honest mistake so we told our waitress politely that we ordered potato wedges not french fries as a side. The waitress just tells us "I know, the kitchen made a mistake." There was a small silence after she said that. I was waiting for her to say sorry and take the french fries back and bring us potato wedges but she didn't. If she knew that there was a mistake in the order, she should have at least told us or try to fix it. It wasn't until I tried hinting to her that we didn't want french fries that she offered to bring us the potato wedges. She still didn't say sorry. Other than this little mishap she was a good waitress.

After we were done eating we asked a waitress walking by if we could have the check, instead she just coldly yells at us, "I'm not your waitress!" and storms off. My friends and I were very offended by that. Even if she wasn't our waitress she could have told our waitress that we were ready to pay. After that rude comment I'm sure I will never be visiting this Buffalo Wings and Rings again. My friends and I were just shaken and surprised by this comment. We can understand getting an order wrong because we work for food and hospitality places too, but to say something so rude to a costumer is unacceptable.

I used to come here a lot more when they had karaoke on Wednesday nights and when I lived further west in the hood so that I could take the shuttle to the park.  Now that I live two blocks from the park and it's less acceptable for me to belt out Love is a Battlefield (with the dance moves of course) I don't visit nearly as often.  Why did you guys cancel karaoke again?

The good things about Wings and Rings is that they have some pretty cheap drink and food specials that vary throughout the week.  It's big and clean with a lot of big flat screen tvs.  They can accommodate large parties and the crowd is usually pretty fun (although they get pretty busy during Bears and Sox games so show up early).  I like to come to watch football games with friends.

The bad thing about Wings and Rings is their wings ... and their rings.  When you order wings you will most likely end up with some skimpy, busted, sad excuse for a chicken wing.  Not only that but the meat just tastes dirty.  I usually get boneless, and I'm a bone-in kind of girl, because they at least don't gross me out.  I'd say 9 times out of 10 the boneless wings are overcooked and REALLY dry.  And the onion rings are just not even worth talking about.

Most of the food that I've eaten on the menu has been a miss.  DO NOT try their "famous" gyro.  The one time I tried it the meat was crusty and dry and there was about 5 little slices of it.

Most of their fried appetizers are good enough and go well with a large quantity of beer.  I usually order the fries and the mini corn dogs.  The blue cheese dressing is phenomenal and since the wings usually suck I just end up dipping my fries in it.

Overall I'd say this is a good place to go to watch a game and drink some cheap beer.  If you have to eat I would stick with the appetizer menu.

After trying this place out again, I will bump it up one star.

The thing that bothered me the most about this place was the sauce that they love throwing on the wings despite what flavor you order. I don't like hot sauce being drenched on my wings... especially when I ask for garlic parmesan wings.

I finally asked for NO SAUCE and it was how I envisioned wings to be. Regular wings with garlic parmesan.

I also asked for mild to see how that would turn out, the wings were drenched in some sort of oil... which was ok because the wings were still a bit hard and dry.

All in all, I might come back when I crave wings.

Yeah, I dunno.  My friends and I have been taking tours of all the bars/neighborhoods to find THE perfect spot to watch a Bulls game.  Sadly, this isn't it.

    The Good:
+Super friendly staff!  The hostess even sat me at a table for 8, even though no one else in my party was there but me!  What a savior!  Our waiter was nice, too..busy, but good.

+$4 Grey Goose drinks and 59 cent wings on Tuesday.  Nice deal!

+Lots and lots of tv's to watch, so you're pretty much good where ever you choose to sit.

+Free parking lot in the back of the restaurant

+Patio seating for the nice, summer days

+Foursquare check-in special!  $5 off bill of $20 or more!  Wheeee!

    The Bad:
+The wings were semi-tragic.  Even though the boneless and regular wings were 59 cents, they were small and overcooked.  Plus, it kinda looks like  they just squeeze mounds of sauce over the wings and bring 'em out.  Ick.

+The onion rings were good, but were $8!  Like, how?  Granted, the batter WAS good...it wasn't $8 good.

+They charge $1 for a side of bleu cheese/ranch.  Hello, highway robbery.

So...although I give this place a HUGE thumbs down on the food, the drinks specials and service make me want to give it another try.  Only fair, right?

OK guess I have to edit this review. I didn't mean to break rules, I was just telling the truth.

So the food is mediocre at best, the lighting is weird which kind of makes everything look green. Carpeting in a restaurant is just a NO-NO. It's more of a family dining bar than a sports bar from what I've seen. Lots of kids. Like another review mentioned, if you want to get tore up and don't have a babysitter it's perfect. The management is on a whole other level. If you want details, just message me and I'd be happy to share.

The Crazy Sauce is totally awesome - It's a combination of different sauces which makes it tangy, hot and sweet - SIMultaneously.  There are a bunch of different sauces kind of like bw3, but the wings are larger, more like the size of Hooters wings.  bw3 has wings the size of baby chickens, poor baby chickens :(

But I also love this location because its dedicated to WhiteSox Fans, the TVs normally have Sox games on and it has Sox decor all over the place.  Besides the wings the rest of the food is just okay, the mini corn dogs is a good starter.  The waitresses are friendly, they have a full bar, lots of booths, large tables and high tables too.  There's also a free parking lot in the back.

PLus on game days, they have free shuttle service to US Cellular Field, how cool is that?

It's a mixed bag but I guess the name says it all: they specialize in buffalo. Expect the wings.

Just as popular as the top-dawg of all things wings "BWW". Once I received excellent service considering it was a hoppin' game night. What I like is that they clearly advertise specials. I don't have to be the chump to ask, "What are your specials? How much does that cost? And that and that and that?" Buffalo Wild Wings likes to keep their prices a secret, so I enjoy clear advertised prices.

I'm not a wing gal, but they tasted okay. My quesadilla was the superior choice. What sucks the big one was the fried pickles. They took a wet pickle spear and wrapped it in a questionable breading. It was piping hot at the breading slipped off with the first bite. Not to mention the pickle lacked flavor. I was chompin' on a limp cuke! How could I enjoy it?

On the fried pickle visit, my dining companion and I received some questionable service. Namely, the server gave the hint that he did not want to actually serve us. Why? I know it was11pm, but they weren't closing until 3! In fact, they had a musician that just took the stage. We didn't bother staying and discussed where we were going to actually get a decent meal. Limp cukes don't cut it. The shift manager overheard us and boldly (or absent-mindedly) asked us, while our server was merely feet away, if we enjoyed our service. How could we tell him how we really felt when the server was within earshot basically waiting for a response?

Get your drink on but keep it at that I guess.

Dear Manager of Buffalo Wings & Rings:

Your restaurant is dirty.  The floors, the windows, the tables and menus are dirty; this also means your kitchen is dirty.  Your food would taste a lot  better if your establishment wasn't a pig stye.

Why, why? Why is this place here?  I can't believe how much this stretch of Halsted has changed in only the couple of years I've been gone.  Lots of TVs and just pretty sterile in here.  No character and probably opened up the "instant sports bar in a box" when designing it.  I miss Puffer's very much and while I like Mitchell's, Puffer's just had that "it" factor.

I was not impressed with the food.  The burger was small and came with chips.  $2.00 extra if you wanted fries.  That would've added up to a burger over 10 bucks that was thoroughly dry and mediocre; plus it didn't even fill me up.  That's a big negatory for me right there.  And $5 for small boneless wings? Wow, just wow.  The drinks are also more expensive than i thought.  Come on buddy!  That is quite pricey for Bridgeport.  Walk two blocks over to Mitchell's for dirt-cheap drinks.

I will say the bar was quite clean and had karaoke the night we were there.  Due to only a few people signing up to sing, the host sang for most of the time.  I don't think he minded, I'm sure he actually preferred it.  He had a comforting voice, almost enough to earn another star, but not quite.

Unsolicited tip: Grab a couple of $5 pizzas from the Little Caesar's on 31st and Halsted and eat them at Mitchell's.  That would be a better night.  Despite not being a fan, I think it may fill a niche in that area and possibly do quite well.

Under no circumstances should you eat here. Being in walking distance, I keep wanting to like this place, but it just ain't happening. The food is just bad. Their burgers are bad (premade frozen patty? Gross.) The fries are even worse (floppy and undercooked.) The wings are HORRENDOUS and EXPENSIVE. I'm sorry, but 49 cent wings are NOT a deal. Go to Gamekeepers on Thursday for 10 cent wings. I also am 99% sure they sprinkle Tony's Creole Seasoning on everything, as well.

Go to get some beers, and some beer only. Their "drink specials" are a joke, and while you ordered the Grey Goose, they will, in fact, give you well vodka (and then lie about it). Don't say I didn't warn you!

Well, it was a Sunday afternoon and the place was pretty empty, which probably was why I liked it here.  I can imagine this place being filled with boozed-up sports fanatics yelling at the games on the many many screens lining the walls in spaces that aren't covered with sports memorabilia or posters advertising the goings-on at the location or the alcoholic drinks being served.

I probably should've had a beer, but at that point in the day, I needed a soda.  One with free refills, which this location thankfully has.  That's one of the points of contention that can separate a mediocre restaurant from a great one for me: are the drinks free refills?  They are, and they were quite large as well, which meant fewer needs to refill, which were gladly offered at precisely the right time.

As for the food, I went with the Boneless Wings Basket.  I wasn't too thrilled at the $10 price tag, but when I got my 5 wings (I went with Original style and Hot spiciness, one combination out of 45 available choices) and the basket of onion rings and the basket of curly fries, I knew that I was at least going to attempt to get my money's worth.  And the rest could be boxed, if need be.

The wings were tasty.  They were served in a bowl, as they should be, with the extra sauce still at the bottom for a full re-coating in-between bites, with enough left over for dipping my rings of the onion and potato varieties.  I liked the flavor, and while the wings and fries were nothing worth writing home about, there was nothing bad about them at all - and enhancing them with extra wing sauce made up for any mediocrity.

Lastly was the entertainment.  I was mesmerized by the selection of screens displaying "Lunchtime Trivia", where it seemed like people were playing in the restaurant answering trivia questions.  I only wish I had spoken up about it sooner, because they would have given me a remote to join in and play.  I will definitely ask to participate next time.  The waitress Nicole told me that they even used to have weekly tournaments and such, but not enough people were interested in playing.  I LOVE trivia games!!

The next time I come back will likely be on a Wednesday night, because on Wednesdays they have a special of 49-cent boneless wings (Tuesdays are 49-cent regular wings) and at 10pm is supposedly Karaoke!!  I need more karaoke outlets available to me, and this place is well within walking distance.  My only issue is that a bar at 10pm on a Wednesday will in no way lead to a productive or sane Thursday morning at work.

Or I'll take another lazy Sunday to play some trivia, rack up some points, and try out some of their other menu options (the Buffalo Wing Nachos looks enticing)...

My impression of this place has not really changed a year later (I CANNOT believe it's been a year since I went here. WHERE HAS THE TIME GONE, for real??)

I am a fan of their free shuttle. You park in the lot, you eat there, and they take you to the game. They oughta give you champagne on the bus too considering what they charge here. The food isn't bad. It's no bdubs or Hooters, but it's not bad. The PRICES are out of control though. THIS IS BRIDGEPORT. YOU CANNOT CHARGE THESE PRICES. $10.49 for a wrap and fries, because they charge you $2 to upgrade from chips?? $5.00 for 5 boneless wings?? Man I can eat 20 boneless wings, I can go broke in this place!!

If I want to eat greasy goodness, I'm hitting Lindy's by my house first. They have a free shuttle for you too - the 35/39 buses!!

I walk by this place nearly every day, and had yet to try it until last night.  I had some friends over, and we were between work calls for the day so decided to order here.  We were skipping the delivery option and just walking over to pick it up.  Simple enough idea, right?

I should've known when I called to place the order there were going to be issues.  The girl answered, I began placing the order (first item was a pizza burger. Apparently I had an old menu). After being placed on hold for almost 3 solid minutes, the girl came back on the line to inform me they no longer had the pizza burger.  OK, so order for bacon cheeseburger with nothing on it was placed.  That along with a Cajun chicken wrap, 1/2 gyro queasily, and fried chicken tender wrap.  She repeated the order back and I had to correct her 2 times.  I should have known......

We went over 15 minutes later to get our food, hostess chick was on the phone for almost 5 (!) minutes before acknowledging us (right in front of her face!), a waiter had to come over to ask us if we needed anything, told him we were here to pick up our order, and he asked my name.  I told him my name, but then said no one asked for it on the phone.  He looked shocked and said how could he give me my order if it didn't have a name on it?  BAH!

Oh yeah.......  The bacon cheeseburger was loaded with tomato, onion, lettuce and pickles (not plain!), there was no cajun chicken wrap or fried chicken wrap.  Both plain chicken wraps.  If weren't for the 10 PM work call, I'd have taken it back and gotten a refund.

I'm giving 2 stars only because I didn't have to deal with a delivery driver and the food we DID get was alright.;  The gyro quesadilla was the best thing we got.  I won't be going back here anytime soon.

Well, I've been around bridgeport a long time and went to the same high school as the owners, so i wasn't expecting much to begin with. I guess i got what i expected

It has the expected accoutrements of your modern sports bar, and it's shiny new.

The boneless wings! The sauce seems splashed on at the last second, and no flavor gets into the meat. I don't want to say they sickened me, but i had to stop eating them after forcing down the last couple i did eat.

I swear me and this place have a love/hate thing going on. I know they 're pretty new to the area but seriously I would have thought by now they would have there shit together.Where should I start lets see we'll go with the Sweet BBQ boneless wings they're pretty decent if you don't wanna travel very far.The burgers are Blah and the service sucks oh and by the way this place is almost always dirty from the floor to the tables to booth.

I really wanted to like this place cause I live here in the neighborhood and It's nice to not have to travel all the way downtown to get my wing fix (At Hooters) I've been here at least 4or 5 times but it's the same shit every time I go there I'm sorry but BWR were gonna have to part ways :(

I do have to say before I go the mini corn dogs are the bomb but it's not enough to make me go back!!

Word of caution, one extra star for being there. Not to many places on this stretch of Halsted. This is a really weak A-OK.

Nothing remarkable going on here food wise. I ordered the blue cheese burger and there was no blue cheese, I also ordered it medium rare and it came out well done. When I inquired the waitress told me she wrote it up as medium rare and that they usually will do it. I told her, I wish she would have informed me if it was questionable that I'd pick something else. Then I pointed out that there was no blue cheese on it.

The original order took a long time to arrive so I was worried that my husband would be done with his food. At least they did a great job with the re-order and it was dropped off quickly.

Now for what they call blue cheese, as another review on here says it's on the side. To elaborate it comes in a little cup, to be honest I thought it was blue cheese dressing. If you are a serious cheese lover, skip the cheese because you'll be disappointed.

Bottom line, I'll come back here to grab a beer and some apps. As a sports bar I don't find it disappointing. As a restaurant not so much.

Last night's trip to Buffalo Wings & Rings was bad enough to make me join Yelp so I could share the experience with the whole world.

Admittedly, I am not much of a sports bar person, but I was excited to have a place nearby where my boyfriend and I could have a drink and a bite while watching the White Sox.  I don't care that the food is gross and overpriced--$1 per wing!?--because that's the type of stuff you expect to be served in a place like that.  What really got me mad was our inexcusably poor customer service experience.

The short version of the story is that there was a miscommunication with our beleaguered waitress about a drink special that resulted in an extremely unpleasant confrontation with the manager on duty.  After being informed by our waitress that there was an issue with our check, the manager took at least 20 minutes to address it with us.  All the while, we were left tensely waiting, unsure if we should drink the drinks (as opposed to keeping them to send back) and consequently unable to enjoy the game or our food.  When the manager did eventually come over, after we asked the waitress where he was, he took a very confrontational attitude, leaning over the table in what felt like an effort to bully and intimidate us.  He behaved more like a guy out about to start a bar fight than the manager of a "family friendly" establishment.

He made absolutely no effort to apologize for the misunderstanding or to improve our experience.  Miscommunications happen, especially in the restaurant industry, and it's the manager's job to mediate between the waitstaff and the customer to ensure a pleasant trip for the guest while keeping the restaurant's best interests in mind.  And here's the thing: we live down the street and probably would have spent a significant amount of money there over the course of the baseball season.  All of that revenue, in addition to sales to our friends and neighbors who we will undoubtably warn away, is lost to them because that guy was such a jerk.

If I could give them negative stars, I would..

    04/22/09 update:

I went to this place again to try something other than wings.  I ordered the blue cheese burger.  The waitress brought my order and after looking at my burger I asked this question...."is this a frozen patty?"  Her response, "yes".  I then asked this..."are the 1/2 lb burgers also made from frozen patties?"  Her response, "yes".  My last question was...."also, where is the blue cheese".  She responds, "it's supposed to come on the side...I guess they forgot".  Come On!!!!!  Who serves frozen patties in a place like this?  Unacceptable.  I sent it back and ordered boneless wings instead.  Once again, this place disappoints.

The lighting in this place ir really off - it seemed too bright, making it seem like it was a cafeteria and the metallic accents on the walls didn't help. It just didn't feel comfortable.
    Service was prompt.
Ordered wings and a salad. The salad was pretty good. The wings were nothing special, they were drowning in the sauce, did not seem to be fresh.

    Pricey for what you get.

The chicken wings are bland to the point of the flavor options being ludicrous.  It costs a little more to add 'cajun seasoning'  (laurence's salt, no?) to the curly fries so otherwise they are entirely unseasoned.

Music is 90s rock mix- 4 non blondes, the breeders, pearl jam

Probably 3.5 stars if you just need a place to watch the game with your kids whilst getting drunk.   Its probably the only spot that could happen at in the area.

Since most of the bars on this stretch of Halsted don't serve food- I am always looking for where to go to grab a bite and a beer before settling down into one of my more favorite spots. While Buffalo Wings and Rings might be a little sterile for the neighborhood (lacks the charm of so many of the bars along this way) they do serve up some okay food in a sports bar environment.

We were seated by the hostess (first surprise as I thought I would just plop myself down somewhere) and were handed the menu and told about that day's specials. We started with two GIANT beers that were also on special that night for only $3.50.  I could barely lift the thing!  Definitely a two handed mug!

The menu reads like a regular sports bar menu- appetizers like potato skins, nachos, fried cheese, etc. They specialize in wings with at least 7 different types of sauces that you can choose from (original, garlic, teriaki, BBQ, just to name a few) and at least 5 varying levels of heat for those sauces. There are also the standards like burgers, sandwiches, gyros and salads.

We tried a little of this and that. The wings were meaty and the original sauce that we chose (at the hot level) was pretty typical for wings you get other places. We also tried the special of the night and the chicken tenders were actually bigger than we thought they'd be, meaty and pretty good with the teriaki sauce and the BBQ sauce.

I tried a burger and other than it was done more well than I would have liked (they cook everything to medium well) it was good. The hit of the night for me? Curly fries with chili and cheese. Now what's not to like about that?

We also learned that they have take out so we could actually have our wings in one of the other bars along this way that have a little more history and charm. But don't ask for delivery.  They don't do it.

Service was spotty. Our server disappeared for long moments of time although it appeared he was busing tables too. And another observation? It seemed a little too light in the place to be a bar and a little too dark to be a "family restaurant"- more like it was stuck in the middle somewhere.

Oh well. Our tummies were full, there were leftovers for another day and we were headed up the street to Bernice's to watch open mike night which was why we were down that way anyway.  Given the choices in the area- I'm sure I'll be back to try some more of those tasty sauces.

It is difficult to recommend this place beyond the drink specials.

We got a good variety of wings as they were on special at 10 cents a piece.  They seemed to be taken from anorexic birds.  Very short on the goods and the sauces were mediocre at best.  The lady got a salad to go with the wings and it was something you might find at a Denny's or something.  We got something else but it was so underwhelming I don't even remember what it was.

The waitstaff was sort of indifferent on a whole and definitely didn't add anything to the experience.  The do have a lot of T.V.'s and I appreciate it is on the Southside but do all 20 T.V.'s have to have the Sox game on?  They are in a pennant race, it might be nice to see the competition's games too.  The music was terrible too, it was hard to tell if that is what was playing or what someone picked on the Jukebox.

All and all a completely generic experience with better quality available for the same price or less at almost any other bar/wing joint.

Ok, despite their newness, they REALLY need to get their act together.  Being that I drive by here all the time, due to my summer part-time job, I wanted it to work out.  I really did.  I even started out by looking past a few things, but I can't bear to give them a second chance.

My friend and I stopped by here after waiting in the rain at a Sox, and then the game got finally rained out.  We were starving, and this place is literally down the street from the park.  We were promptly seated in the bar area.  Obviously, the place was packed since an over flow of Sox fans who were let down were here, and there was a wide variety of College football games going on.

We were sat, only to wait about 10 minutes before a waitress even acknowledged us.  Placed orders for drinks, got our drinks, and then waited another 10 minutes for our order to be placed.  It is very obvious that this restaurant is NOT prepared to handle a large crowd of this caliber.

I ordered onion rings, mild buffalo wings, and the friend ordered the cheeseburger, and sweet BBQ wings.  We waited another 15 minutes for our onion rings.  Onion rings were saturated in grease (I know their fried, and expected them to be greasy, but this was DRIPPING) so much so that there was enough grease to swirl around in the bottom of the basket.  They tasted good, however there were a few burnt (yes, seriously burnt) onion rings in the basket.

Fast forward to 10 minutes later.  We were brought out the wrong order, and then the waitress questioned our order again.  She checked her book, then realized we were right.  Then about 5 minutes later she brought out the right order.  Just to inform you, if you order mild buffalo sauce, you get wings drenched in butter.  Yes. Seriously.  The manager delivered the new order, however, when I questioned him about my order, he was then almost confrontational, got the menu and showed me that I was wrong.  I told him that I was confused because if I ordered buffalo sauce on wings, I expected buffalo sauce, not butter.  Everything was hot per se but was mediocre at best.

Our overall experience lasted over an hour, and I was very disappointed.  If you question the validity of this review, please note that this is the most negative review that I've written in three years.  I don't feel guilty as I work in the industry, and have way higher expectations of what a restaurant should be.  Please also note the 5 and 4 star reviews compared to one star reviews.
