I was here for bingo night for a charity and it was so much fun! It's was a great way of enjoying couple of beers, while raising money for charity. During bingo, the entire bar, and restaurant was filled, every seat in the house was taken, with people ranging from young twenties to middle age. The hostess calling out the bingo numbers is quite a character - kept the crowd entertained and kept the event proceeding well.

The restaurant section is a respectable layout with furniture and décor - nothing that I was drawn too. The art on the wall was visually entertaining, but I was here for bingo, so I didn't pay too much attention to it. Service is respectable - but I think the staff was a bit flustered for bingo night. I think one more person would have eased their concerns.

In any case - it was fun to get a couple of drinks and play bingo, and I'll be sure to stop in again for another bingo event, or for a couple of drinks if I'm in this area of Seattle again.

I could go on and on and on about how horrible the service and food was at this place. Absolutely disgusting. Salty mess. Waitresses act like they're queen Beyonce or something uhhm NOT.

Empty on weekdays and theres no wonder why. Plus the place was kind of dark and I couldn't get a view of what I was consuming but shrimp and grits is an absolute NO. NEVER AGAIN. This place should just close the doors. I hate to see a small business get such a bad review but cmon yall can do SO much better than this.

Based on a lot of other reviews you should know all of this by now.

Like a lot of places in Georgetown, these guys have dialed in exactly how they want to present themselves, such that as soon as you walk in you know you're going to like it. Well, I suppose that varies by taste, but it's hard to imagine who wouldn't immediately draw a good vibe from this place.

Also fitting the neighborhood aesthetic, this is an old building that has been restored and revived in place. The little wooden patios by each door evoke the 19th century as much as anything in this young city can; the floorboards look like they have multiple decades of weathering on them. You feel like you're stepping up slightly into the past as soon as you lift your foot.

Inside there's a dining room to the right where all ages are welcome, and a bar to the left. They flow together through a big opening, and the tables (along with the foodservice) spill well into the bar area. There's a big barback that looks vintage, though not 1800s. The liquor is basic, the wine list is super short, and there are just a couple of faucets for beer. There are a few more beers in bottles behind the bar.

Where this place starts really getting good, though, is the staff. They're all super nice, happy to work there, friendly, and all over it with the menu and tap list. They have that knack for making service questions (about what you're ordering, etc.) feel like conversation, so you feel like you're in someone's home instead of in a business.

I came in for breakfast during a poster exhibition that was part of Sub Pop's Silver Jubilee. Massive ups to these guys for supporting the music scene this way, actually. Lots of amazing Justin Hampton prints on the walls. The breakfast was pretty spectacular, actually--corned beef hash with cubes of real brisket. A little on the juicy side until the potatoes absorbed the runoff...but that just made it deliciouser.

It's not a big place, nor new. But the bathrooms are clean and up to date, if not ultra-modern. The tables and chairs are all wildly mismatched, which adds to the homey feel. There's nothing here that makes you feel overcharged or put off at all. Everything about it feels like it's a place designed and operated by people who wanted to create a place where THEY would like to go out. I will definitely be back.

I was hoping to come back and update my review (since it had been several months since my last visit and three years since my last review), but I had my dog with me. Unfortunately, Calamity Jane's doesn't allow dogs to sit out on the patio...bummer. The staff was extremely friendly and recommended Stellar Pizza, just down the street, and I'm so glad they did! I had a great meal and was thankful not to have to leave my dog in the car.

Of course, the downside to that is that now that I've been to Stellar Pizza, I need to adjust my star ranking for Calamity Jane's anyway. Calamity Jane's provides a solid meal and a nice enough atmosphere, but it's not my favorite in the neighborhood and I haven't had anything on the menu that warrants a special trip.

The Johnny cake was great! New waiter was being trained and was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. He did a good job keeping my  ice tea glass full. I don't think they have air conditioning and it was humid so the drink was good!

Our friends in Seattle took my husband and I here for my Birthday dinner while visiting from California. The waitress was pretty friendly and knew the menu well. I got the Endless Spaghetti since it was Vegetarian. It was really good! The sauce that they use has a nice kick to it and wasn't to spicy. I also had the Reese's Cheesecake, which was also delicious.  Every one else got the Shepard's and Cottage Pie, they said that it was the best Shepard's pie they've ever had.

They also do Bingo and other fun things there weeknights.

In an attempt to find a quick bite to eat before heading off to the Boeing Flight Museum for the First Friday, a quick Yelp search led us to Calamity Jane's right in time for Happy Hour.

The place was deserted, and the waitress was friendly, the sliders were great and the wings were gross. They apparently don't have a fryer, so the wings were actually pretty gross. I sent them back and was still charged for them, even after politely mentioning how we didn't like them, at all. And when more than half of them were left. They were tiny, the "buffalo" sauce overwhelming, and stained my hands and the chicken was a little smelly.

All-in-all, if you're here for the sliders and the cheap beer, it won't be so bad. The drink specials sound pretty good, the place is spacious, kitschy in a cute way. I did not appreciate the dead flies and spiders in the window though... especially since we had the table by the window...

I've been going to Calamity Jane's for several years now, and I always order their mac and cheese. It's among the best in Seattle. I've never had a bad meal here, and the food is authentically southern, thanks to their chef and part owner's down home recipes.

The vibe is true Georgetown, with locals who hang out at the bar, and work by up and coming artists on the walls. Sometimes the service is a bit slow, but the food is worth the wait!

Open Sundays! Unlike several other places in Georgetown.

Went here for a bite to eat before heading to a bar for a friends birthday party so we had 45 minutes to eat before having to leave.

There was only us and one other table. The service was so slow for how dead it was, our water glasses were left unfilled and we waited 15 minutes to order.

I got the wings with the hot sauce on the side. They were a little burnt.

I don't remember what my husband ordered but he got a side of mac and cheese with it that was very small for the price you pay, and not very impressive flavor-wise.

It was happy hour so it was about a dollar off drinks and my wings were cheap.

My husband and I usually prefer small portions menus, and when we found ourselves in the Georgetown section of Seattle, we stopped in at Calamity Jane's because the menu seemed to have a lot of side orders which appeared as if they would fit the bill. As it turned out, they were beyond wonderful. We ordered the lentils, which were fine; not all that unusual, but perked up by having fresh bits of vegetables (cubed carrots, etc.). However, the macaroni and cheese "side order" was the best ever, with a cheesy flavor (instead of the usual bland stuff) and a crusty top. We also ordered the "Johnny Cakes" and while I admit I don't know what they're supposed to be like, so have nothing to compare them with, we were both astonished at how wonderful these were. For a pittance, you get three good sized corn pancakes which, it seems, have been lightly fried so that the outsides are lightly crispy. the pomegranate sauce was also wonderful. Speaking of a pittance, all three dishes were extremely low priced and came in generous portions. While there is a "happy hour" menu, we ordered from the side orders which means these delights are available all the time, not just as happy hour treats.

The service was excellent too, with very helpful advice from the waitress, and the ambience is quite pleasant. As with many places along that Airport Way South strip of Seattle's Georgetown district, it is also a bar, but you don't feel as if you're in a place where it's mainly about drinking and the food is an afterthought.

I can't wait to go back and try other "side dish" offerings - and maybe work my way up to the main dishes on their extensive menu.

We went for lunch on a Sunday and service was slow. Food was good when it arrived but it seemed like it took 30 min to serve our lunch. The prices were quite high for a small restaurant in Georgetown. Perhaps it was supposed to be more upscale based upon the prices but we thought it was just-ok. I liked my shepards pie. My daughter's pancakes were a bit grainy.

Cottage Pie is bombtastic here. The bowl is so huge of it, you can get in it and row home in it later. And I'm sure their other food is great (they have an all-you-can-eat spaghetti night on Mondays [?] and a diverse bar menu--prices are on the odd cent. $10.73 for your Cottage Pie!)

To add to the quirkiness of this place, they serve Cheetos as a sides option. The crunchy kind!

Oh, that Cottage Pie. If you like Shepard's Pie, but don't eat meat, this is what you need in your life. Seasoned lentils, al dente carrots, hunks of shitake mushrooms, zucchini--all under a giant mound of cauliflower mashers. I liberally put their Aarvdvark habanero sauce all of it (it's not spicy, but has good flavor) and pack up the 2nd half for a meal the next day. The other night, our table had biscuits and gravy, and BBQ sliders. My friend really liked the BBQ sliders and the biscuits and gravy were good.

If you come in for drinks, they mean business. Strong cocktails. Recently, I tried a gluten-free beer they had called New Planet. It was bitey in a good way! SO much better than other GF beers I have tried.

Don't forget that they have a small outside area in back. It feels like you are in somebody's back yard--nice and cozy.

Calamity Jane's is awesome! One of the best Eggs Florentine I've had. BUT my fav is Thursday night Karaoke, soooo fun, $6 shot and beer, and the host (also from Bingo on Mondays) is super RAD!! :) Also the song selection is good and always growing. You can even request your fav Karaoke jams to be added to the data base! Pretty Cool!

Very good, quiet little joint that probably doesn't get the attention it deserves!

I was in again today, always good- I had the usual, the buffalo chicken sandwich. I believe they use Franks hot sauce, which works really well on grilled chicken. The bun has a great flavor and crunch to it - mmmm!

They have a bar too - couldn't work that out today, but next time!

The only real downside can be the parking - if you are not there early, it can be a challenge. But the food is excellent.

I really wanted to like this place but the obnoxiously rude & sarcastic waitress pretty much nixed that. She seemed to want a conflict. We just wanted to order lunch. Not sure what all this buzz is about. Being an asshole doesn't make you hip.

This place only gets 3 stars because of the wonderful staff, good drinks, and a very enjoyable weekly bingo event.
The food has gone downhill. I have been coming to Calamity Janes for the past 2 years.  Our food in the last few months has been served cold, looks un appetizing, and just doesn't taste as delicious as it used to.  Salad was horrible with cubed up old vegetables.  The monday night all you can eat spaghetti is inconsistent, sometimes delicious and sometimes too spicy to eat.
I will return for the great happy hour drinks, and the friendly kind staff.  Not for the food.

Went for brunch and had eggs benny and a mimosa.  The mimosa is a little overpriced for the neighborhood IMHO, but otherwise, a good spot to eat if you want a nonmoody atmosphere (ie 9LB or Stellar's).

    SHEPHERD'S PIE.   Yum!

Pitchers of delicious seasonal beers.  Nice, bright dining room.  Fun and unique menu, always tempted to try new things, but the shepherd's pie always wins me over.  We will definitely be back again and again.

I've probably eaten here about 10 times, this is my default dinner spot in Georgetown.

I've had almost everything on their happy hour menu, and the chicken wings are my faves. They are probably my favorite chicken wings in all of Seattle.

For dinner I've had the Greens and Red Beans probably half of my visits, it's just really good solid food. Once I pulled myself away for the Mac and Cheese -- it was just OK, but I make better mac&cheese at home.

Tonight I tried the Cottage Pie -- a vegetarian Shepherds Pie -- and that was really yummy.  Really large portion, I think I could have been just as happy with a 3/4 sized serving.

And they serve my favorite beers from Georgetown Brewing -- Lucille and Mannys.

    Love...Can I say LOVE.

I spent Seafair with Jane instead of the Blue Angels and couldn't be happier

Great ambiance, friendly service and interesting menu options. I went for the seafood benedict and lawd was that a divine first introduction to grits. Also pleased by the selection of hotsauce.  Looking forward to trying more items.

Oh and the portions are very well sized for the price!

"5 shots of Fireball please." That's pretty much how it started here at Calamity Jane's.

Like many other nearby spots in Georgetown, this bar has tons of character. With funky art on the walls, great HH pricing (PBR Tallboys are just $1.50!) and tasty food, you can't go wrong here. Word has it that the chicken wings and pulled pork sliders are awesome. I also spotted gyoza that looked pretty awesome. I'll have to try the food next time because this occasion called for liquids only. The bartender was kind, he was quick and we all laughed at our poor decision making skills when ordering Fireball instead of something a little finer. But it was really fun and just that quick interaction made me want to come back to eat and stay a little longer. If you're in the area this ought to be a stop on your crawl!

    "We're in Barney...Barney Rubble... TROUBLE!"
    Ambience: 3
    Food: 4
    Value: 4
Tucked away towards the end of Georgetown is this wonderfully eclectic and delicious eatery. They do a great job combining America(New) with Southern comfort food, a unique amalgamation. We had fun playing around with the toy tanks on the bar and the local brews. We had the most delicious Lamb Tangine: great Mediterranean flavored and braised well.

Definitely want to try this place for brunch. They offer some amazing cocktails and, rumor has it, a peanut butter bacon burger to die for.

I've never written a terrible review before...and feel slightly bad doing so, but brunch at this spot was one of my worst restaurant experiences, ever.  My bloody mary was totally watered down.  My eggs Florentine were completely drenched in hollandaise (beyond acceptable sopping) and atop what tasted like a stale and untoasted english muffin.  My boyfriend's pork chops/eggs/grits breakfast weren't much better--the pork chops, while completely overdone and generally unappealing, were the highlight of the meal...that and his red beer.  I really should have said something, but didn't send our food back for fear of being that girl.  Lastly, their brunch isn't cheap--dishes start at around $11.

Two upsides though--good music and good breakfast potatoes.

Sorry Calamity Janes....the meal was simply too calamitous for my return.

If I were rating just on 'niceness' Calamity Janes would score an easy 5 out 5 stars, but, alas, there's more to a restaurant than just being pleasant.

The space itself is light (got to love those high plate glass windows), airy and totally inviting lightly stained paneling and brightly painted walls, which are adorned with ever changing art, generally featuring a single artist.

The staff is friendly, but when it gets busy sometimes there's a precipitately drop in attention. Food is basically American style. If you love Cheetos, you're in luck, you can get them as a side to your burger or sandwich. I've had the open-faced meatloaf daily special and it was impressive looking and quite flavorful, but the bed of mashed potatoes the rested on were, lukewarm at best. Not that that upset me terribly, but it's symbolic of how I view Calamity Janes; great concept, lackluster execution. But I'm glad they're in Georgetown and wish them success.

Came here for lunch with a group from work yesterday. I was impressed with the diverse menu and settled on the Wild Bill burger. It was very good, cheddar cheese, jalapenos, BBQ sauce. Delish!
The help is very attentive and pretty speedy. The only thing this place seems to lack is fries.....

The wife and I were in Georgetown to check out the vintage stores on a Saturday and decided to stop in for a bite to eat at Calamity Jane's. I am a huge sucker for faux old tyme western Americana and this place has it in droves. I would have liked to sit at the bar but even at noon on Saturday there was a butt for every chair, so we were seated at the cramped tables that run along the wall.

Our waitress was friendly and fun, and I ordered the heuvos rancheros and my wife had the veggie jumble. Our food took a long time to arrive - a couple that arrived much later than we did at the next table got their food and was almost done eating by the time we got ours.

My heuvos were actually amazingly good - really nice crisp corn tortilla, excellent red chili sauce on top, and perfectly cooked black beans. My wife's veggie jumble wasn't quite as nice unfortunately - it was mostly onions.  So, all in all, our experience at Calamity Jane's was a draw.  One dish good, one bad. Friendly nice waitress, but the food took forever. Still, a draw ain't bad. I'll be back.

Went the other evening to Georgetown for the first time and left wondering why I have not ventured over to this area of Seattle before.  Arrived around 430ish and the place was quiet which was fantastic to be with two other friends.

Ordered the Pulled Pork Sliders apps for everyone at the happy hour price, they were fantastic.  The entree I ordered was the g-town sandwich which was pretty good also.  I was very excited that the soup of the day was mushroom soup; I love mushroom soup!

I would highly recommend this joint.

stopped by for brunch today. I highly recommend their Bloody Mary's - it's just the right amount of spice and loaded with green beans and goodies.  I had the Johnny Cakes with sausage and eggs. This was my first time having a johnny cake (think corn bread pancake) and I'm a fan - probably like this better than pancakes. We had great service - very friendly and attentive.

Hubby had the Calamity Jane's plate and didn't feel that it was over the top - I out ordered him. It was pretty much eggs with sausage with a small cup of baked beans and a baked(?) tomato. I think he was hoping for something more special with the beans - magic beans?

I've been  waiting a long time to try this georgetown spot.  I really enjoy this location because there is plenty of street parking on the nearby streets, I love the old brick industrial buildings and found it to be just as unique inside.

I decided on the Ahi Tuna Salad, because I love my Ahi! The ahi was well prepared and tasted fresh.  The salad dressing that comes with this salad had to be sent back because I was not feeling its flavors with this salad.  I did however find a nice buttermilk dressing to dress it up.

Waitress, very odd and seemed not to be with it... ADD... or not feeling her job this day.  However, the bartender who also came over to greet me was very attentive and seemed to take more interest in customer service by seating me, serving me water, and checking on me while I waited for my friend to arrive.

    Overall, a good experience.

Holy crap! What an awesome surprise! It was late Sunday night, just got off work, I asked my uncle if he'd be down for a bite and drink then we popped in here...

~4.5 means round up! We drove through and noticed this place seemed to be the only joint open down here. I wonder if they (neighbors) all discussed Sunday would be slow but one of them could be open for those that want a late Sunday nite fix? Either way, 'glad they were open!

This is a neat and cool space with original art and a SWEET lookin' stacked helical gear art piece! The background music was hot. Felt like hip hop with a side order of smooth jazz---and just the right volume to hear, yet, not block out conversation. The stained tree-slice tables are awesome.

Both of us had the only 2 burgers and with the kettle chips. They was good and saucy. The waiter dude was efficient, friendly and had fun humor---especially when we talked about the Brewery down the street where you can begin the Tour sober then walk out like--and I quote--"WooOooOooOO" a la squeaky PeeWee Herman voice! LOL.
We tried 3 beer samples of something, something and something (sorry no recall). Rum and Coke was tasty (my "3rd" drink after Hard Cider and Seven & Seven, woot).

    And wtfudge, cheetos?
Oh, and the slice of sweet potato pie was nice, if a bit too subtle.

Georgetown is a pretty cool place, eh?  Hit this establishment toward the end of our stay, but we all liked it.  The weather was slammin', so we went out to their outdoor courtyard in the back & ordered a round from our super nice server.

As we chit chatted with her, she filled us in on how they just started showing movies in the courtyard on Saturday nights.  So cool!  We were hours from darkness, so it wasn't in the cards, but I'd love to come back here and check it out sometime.

Oh, and I loved the art in here.

I hovered over the stars longer than normally writing this review, because in my not-so-humble opinion, it's not fair to judge a restaurant when they are in the throes trying to serve a once-a-year festival crowd. Still, I have to stick with the 3.

We went in during Artopia and it was busy, not 'had to wait for a table' busy, but still, it was busy.  I would imagine that it stayed busy consistantly for the entire event so it was more of a marathon vibe than a rush with the staff.  They were friendly, but a bit disjointed as I could never tell who was doing what- are you our waiter? Are you bringing us drinks?

Also, being not of sound body, I had to order something mild, and actually only found something on the kids menu that would work for me, the 'cheesy noodles' ... I was impressed they didn't hassle me when I asked if I could order it from the kid's menu even for an additional charge, and they were fine at menu price. I was less impressed when it arrived, quite a long time later. The noodles were spaghetti noodles, one or two were brown and charred from sticking to the pan, the sauce was very 'velveeta' for me, and the noodles were literally swimming in it.  I guess I had expected some noodles, a bit of cheese and what I got was the opposite, some cheese and a bit of noodles.

This long time in delivering the entrees, other than the busyness, was partially due to my husband ordering the shepard's pie, which was, delicious, if a bit heavy on the black pepper for me, for him, perfect. For that, I'm sure, he'll ask to go back soon.

He also had two beers, both were from an amazingly wide selection and were great.

Overall, while I'd absolutely go back and try again, but it's not on the top of my list of 'to do'

*19th century American frontierswoman renowned for her military skills and expertise on horseback.
*Martha Jane Canary-Burke, better known as Calamity Jane (May 1, 1852-August 1, 1903), was a frontierswoman and professional scout most well-known for her claim of being a close friend of Wild Bill Hickok, but also having gained fame fighting Native Americans.

Having given you a little background on the name of this place, it is my intent to stress that the vibe you get walking in is much like the history in the name: Rugged, slightly rude and rough around the edges.

Don't be fooled by the neat decor, the paintings, or the strategically painted brown ceiling that you stare at and argue with friends whether it be brown or black.  They're tricky!!  Instead, take in the attitude of the waitresses and the people walking in and out.  After moments, it becomes apparent that Calamity Janes has taken the divish-roughesque-"we don't care what you think" angle too far!

The place just seems confused and I don't care how popular it is or how much people think it's cool...it's really not.  The food is mediocre and I had a HARD time finding something I wanted to eat off their menu.  I am not a picky girl...I LOVE trying new things but there is not a lot of variety here.  The menu just seems like it's trying to be super different from everything else and it's annoying.  I finally settled with the mac n' cheese, minus the mushrooms and ended up getting it with mushrooms anyway.  Frek.  We all agreed it seemed to probably have been pre-made and delivered to them.  The saving grace of the meal was the salad dressing.  They make it all from scratch there which is nice and they actually taste really good!

Calamity Jane was know for her marksmanship.  Seeing as how the food here is so limited, I wouldn't say they are doing the girls reputation any justice as their aim seems to be far off point!!

I just want to say that I have *technically* made every YL, be it DYL, EYL or GYL, I have "I'm in-ed" for.

Georgetown truck stop closed, so off to Smarty Pants. I've been there before, so I've reviewed it already, no big deal.

However, for this event, my youngest daughter was making her Yelp debut... Having already bowled at dawn with the youngest son, and gotten the oldest son a registered yelper...it was time to tackle girls.

UNFORTUNATELY, the chosen "back up" is NOT a minor friendly "bar with food".

So the youngin' and I played sidewalk Wal-mart greeter as the yelpers started to arrive.

Delilah, Selena and I went down the road to Calamity Jane's, so we could have a YL after all.

Like the decor, some of the drinks sounded, interesting. The menu has a somewhat "out of place" feeling "fanciness" to it.

Selena and I split the Sandwich special of the day: Ham and cheese w/ Tomato bisque soup. Very flavorful.

A few bites of Delilah's mac and cheese. Totally NOT impressed.

They make their own salad dressing there, and it's good.

Swung back by Smarty Pants to drag out a few yelpers to meet the little one, and end a nice day out with Delilah and my lil lady.

I came to a Hideous Happy Hour here and let me tell you it was hideous.  OK just kidding it wasn't.

I sat at the bar with my fellow non-hideous happy hours and ordered what she was having the Duwamish something or other which was basically lemonade, blueberry stoli and a pomegranate float; it was delicious and hit the spot.  I checked the happy hour menu out and things looked good; pulled pork sliders, gyoza, hot chicken wings and Mozzerepa all for $3.66 each.  I passed on all of them and went big, I went for the Mac 'n Cheese, I mean how can I bet the self proclaimed Queen of Mac 'n Cheese if I didn't try it?

The Mac 'n Cheese was served with what was later remained the communal salad it was huge I tell you, unfortunately for me it was laden with cucumbers and the Queen does not like cucumbers so she shared the salad with the table.  The Mac 'n Cheese was pretty good it had a few mushrooms, some tomatoes and two fancy green beans mixed in with the bow tie pasta and three cheeses.  Like I said it was pretty good, would I order it again, probably not as there are some other items on their menu that I'd like to try too.

Service was great and the bartender was nice and sweat and was able to keep separate tabs for everyone which was great considering the size of hour party.

Two notes of caution when coming here.  One if you're a lady and need to use the ladies room the bathroom stalls are a tight fit, one must stand next to toilet to get the door to open and close.  Two parking kind of sucks, so start looking early unless you drive a motorcycle than you can just park on the sidewalk apparently.

Had a great Happy Hour dinner here tonight. The decor was cute- local art filled the walls (and check out the afrodesia painting in the ladies room if ya get a chance). The service was fun and attentive.

Food was fantastc- we got the buffalo wings, which were grilled and deelish. Perfectly spicy- not too much but just enough to make the lips burn. The pulled pork sliders were amaza-crazy! SOOOO GOOD! And we also got the gyoza with two dipping sauces- the orange hued spicy one was fantastic- our friend was eating it straight!

Plus, they have our fave- manny's on draft, two of which we weren't charged for. A dinner for 2 and drinks for under $30- it's like a dream come true!  Rest assured we'll be back, for more of those sliders, and to try other items as well!

This place was great! My dad was in town for a night and wanted to meet somewhere that was pretty much halfway between the airport and Capitol Hill. I told him to meet me in Georgetown as I didn't know of any other place that was worth going to south of downtown.

Once we got there, we had no idea where to go. We walked around a bit looking at some menus out front of a few places. We stopped by Calamity Jane's and liked what we saw. We noticed that it was the busiest and looked the most inviting.

The server grabbed us some menus and let us seat ourselves. At first, I thought she might be a bit rough around the edges. Fully tattooed girls seem like they're tough to me. But, I realized she was super nice and she was busy! She was back behind the bar slingin' drinks and back up in the dining room bussing tables and serving guests. She was totally a rockstar!

The food was great. I loved the Johnny Cakes (cornbread griddlecakes with pomegrante-molasses syrup)! The "syrup" was tasty, but it could've been a BIT sweeter for my taste. The burgers were amazing and their BBQ sauce rocks! My dad seemed to really like the ribs, too. The salad was just ok, I didn't like the dressing I chose, but I still ate it all. I thought it was a bit odd that they didn't have french fries and offered cheetos or chips instead. But, overall the food was great and the prices were totally reasonable.

If I happen to find myself in Georgetown, I'll totally come back. It's one of the few places that is more "restaurant" than "bar" down there.

Normally it is my policy to wait until I've been to a place more than once to write a review, but I feel like waiting to share this spot with my fellow yelpers would be an injustice.

First, the service here was amazing.  My boyfriend and I sat at the bar and through talking through the very nice lady, Sarah, who was waiting on us, discovered she was actually the owner.  Given there weren't a lot of people in there but she was beyond attentive and more than happy to chat while mixing drinks and doing various other things.

Now, to the food.  I don't think I could have found a better happy hour (3-6 PM, M-F) place near my house if I had half of Seattle on one street.  There happy hour menu has 4 dishes on it.  After some discussion the boyfriend and I decided for the price ($3.66 each) we could order all 4 and give them a whirl:

    1)  Buffalo wings with blue cheese dressing.  I'm not really a wings fan but these were pretty good as far as wings go.  The spice was definitely there but was the good kind....you know the kind where you eat it and think it's okay and then 15 seconds later you realize just how hot it was.  The portion was pretty good with about 10 wings (or so).

    2)  Mozzerepa.  Johnny cakes with melted fresh mozzarella and basil between them with marinara sauce to dip it in.  These were also delicious but quite filling.   I ended up finishing about 2 slices out of 4 and taking the other two home.

    3)  Goyza dumplings.  Great...delicious...soy and chili dipping sauces.    I don't even know what to say beyond great.  Oh I think there were about 6 on the plate which all got eaten.

    4)  The pulled pork sliders.  Now, we ended up ordering two plates of this.  The first was in our "let's have it all" round.  We devoured them (there were 4 small sandwiches on the plate) and midway through our others decided we needed to order more.

Since it was happy hour and we ended up gorging ourselves on the 4 dishes on the menu, we didn't end up eating anything off the regular menu - though Monday nights is all you can eat spaghetti which was quite tempting.

In the end, I personally think everyone should take a little trip to Georgetown and eat at this place.  If nothing else, get the pork sliders, devour them (because you definitely will) and then go home.  However, after eating a little piece of deliciousness you'll probably have to sit down and try some other things.

    UPDATE:
After going several times (because of my previous addiction to happy hour), I sadly don't think I'll be returning.  More than twice a person in my party didn't get served the food they ordered at all.  When the waiter was told about the issue, he didn't know what to do.  Sadly, we didn't even care at that point because though there were few people in the place at the time, it took us more than half way through the meal to realize the food just wasn't coming and then get the waiter to talk to us.

Also, some of the people who work there can have a bit of the attitude.  When asking for something different then how it is on the menu, sometimes you get attitude about why you should have it just the way it is.  Also, when being the only people in there we asked for the music (Carpenter's) to be turned down a bit because it's loud and just not our type of music - we just wanted the good food - we were told no.

After going there several times in a span of a month, I realized the place can be a bit boring with no TVs, no form of entertainment, and a sometimes quite crappy selection of music playing.  A friend was deeply offended when he asked if they planned on getting a TV or something else for entertainment while waiting for drinks and food during happy hour, and he was told to go to Queen Anne or some other neighborhood because he obviously didn't belong in Georgetown.  Sadly, he lives in the neighborhood and there was no need for the rude attitude from the staff.
