The nightly occurances ar this bar are not as random or unpredictable as the name may suggest: Probability will have it that the crowd is friendly enough, but is more on the white trash end of the scale.  Somehow though, Chances is not as magical in happenstance as the Cornerstone (<a href="http://www.yelp.com/biz/cornerstone-cafe-patchogue#hrid:32xgbkIqags4qfpTw4yWZQ/query:corner%20stone">http://www.yelp.com/biz/…</a>), where, despite regulars, you never know who you will be drinking with. . . The energy here isn't as enthusiastic and seems to be sustaining an ongoing distraction than a "let's make tonight matter" mentality.  In my times here, I've noticed a negligible enforcement of the NYS Clean Indoor Air Act, though it becomes this place, which is overall timeless in its charms: Chances features darts, and three pool tables (one being top-mounted with a ping-pong deck).  Also, has an Internet Jukebox, a private room (available for rentals), blazin' fireplace, $3 Bud drafts, 2004 Golden Tee, LOTR pinball, and Megatouch.  Not a bad place, but is recommended for locals only.  Do not bring your girl (or look for one) here.
