It's Chipotle, you come here not because it's the best Mexican food around but because it's fast, convenient, affordable and usually reliable. I have 3 different locations within pretty much the same driving distance of me. I normally choose this one because of the ample parking. Aside from parking, aren't all Chipotle's supposed to be the same? Well unfortunately that hasn't been the case as of late. I feel like every time I go here they run out of something right before making my food. So I find myself standing around watching person after person moving past me. Whether it's the steak or rice, how do you not see that you're getting low? Isn't this someone on the line's responsibility to make sure it doesn't happen?
Also I'm a plain eater who usually gets a burrito bowl. I don't do beans or sour cream or any of the extras. Just rice, steak, salsa, cheese and lettuce for this guy but I find that my bowl is sometimes barely half full. Then I ask for a little extra rice to make up for what I didn't get and eyes start rolling. I know the employees are just doing their jobs by giving the small fixed portions that corporate hands out but come on. I bet they wouldn't pay $7 for one scoop of rice and one scoop of meat. This problem exists with more than just this location but this location makes me feel like I'm a bad person for asking for a little extra.
On our way to the zoo we were invited into the Chipotle Cultivate Festival. We decided to check it out and had an amazing time. We learned a lot about food...not all of it was good but it was very eye opening. Â We were also able to get a free coupon for each of us to eat at Chipotle.
We decided to use those coupons at this location. It had been about 10 years since I had my first and only burrito here. Â It is about time for me to give them another try.
I had a steak burrito, my wife had the salad bowl with chicken and my little one had chicken and cheese tacos. My poor little one started crying, after biting into her taco because it was too spicy. I tried a piece of chicken and realized it was way too spicy. Â I felt so bad. I wish one of the staff would have said something about it being that hot. The staff made us one taco with rice, beans and cheese. It was really nice of them to try and make it right. I just can not believe there was no warning about it being spicy.
My burrito was exactly how I remembered it 10 years ago. Â It feels too fancy for a burrito. Â I'm use to the authentic dirty Chicago steak burrito. Â Whole black beans and rice just seem out of place for me. Â It may be another 10 years until I eat here again. Â Nothing against there food but it is not for me.
You may wonder why I'm giving them 5 stars...I like Chipotle's message. Â They use local growers for there products. Â That is amazing. Â So if you eat here, the cheese comes from Wisconsin and the meat from Illinois. Most food chains do not run like this but they should. I think they have a great business plan for the environment and their customers. Thanks for trying to make a difference and hopefully others will follow!!!
Hello, my name is Kelli and I am an addict. Chipotle is my crack. Â I eat here several times a week. Â This is my local Chipotle, but I have eaten at many of them throughout the city. Â I don't know what they do to their food that makes me like it so much... Â
I've been going here for years, and the staff is always friendly. Â Usually the line moves quick (unless you get a confused patron, or they are training a new server). Â The service is usually pretty consistent - I'm serious about Chipotle, so I get mad when a new trainee doesn't give me the proper proportions of rice or meat - if they go a bit under, they are always willing to add more to keep me happy! Usually they are also pretty good at keeping the tables clean and everything stocked...
The only reason why I don't give them 5 stars is because two times now I have ordered online and there have been mistakes in the order - once not making the order at all, but they more than made up for it by giving us a few free burrito coupons, and another time forgetting one of the burritos. Â Not a big deal, mistakes are bound to happen. Â
Anyway, LOVE this place - Love that you can get a salad, bowl, tacos, burrito, etc. Â And, their quesadillas, which aren't on the menu are great too! Â If you haven't eaten at Chipotle, I'm concerned that you lead a sheltered life. Try it out! If you don't like it, great, more for me!
To be fair, I've been going to this Chipotle for a while and their food and service has been just great. Â Good food and friendly service with easy parking. Â
Now, for my experience today: Â I grabbed my salad to go and was at the soda machine filling up my drink. Â You know how they have the containers of lemons right there to throw in your beverage? Â Well, out of the corner of my eye I noticed a 6-8 year old girl fooling around with them. Â After a minute, I turned to realize what she had been standing there doing for who knows how long...she was picking the lemons up one by one, licking them, and then throwing them back in the container for every unsuspecting customer to enjoy.
Naturally, I'm looking around for her parents, but since there were only a handful of people in there, through process of elimination I couldn't pinpoint where the parent was. Â In the meantime, I run to the cashier to tell her to remove the lemons, because the girl (who was still hovering over the lemons) was licking them all and throwing them back. Â Immediately, the cashier woman ran over to the girl to get her to stop...and yes, it turns out it was her daughter whom she had obviously brought to work for the day. Â Oh, and she only plucked out a couple of the lemons and went back to the register. Â
And that is the point where I threw my salad uneaten in the trash, and will never step foot back in a Chipotle again. Â And when I will post comments about this for every good, taco loving citizen will know where to avoid...unless you like saliva on the side with your meal.
I volunteer near this location and eat here often. Â I find that their employees are consistently very friendly (I've even had a manager come around to ensure everything was okay before while I was eating). Â
The only gripe I have about Chipotle overall (not just this location) is the pricing. Â Nearly $10 for "Fast Food" seems a bit on the tall side.
That being said, I do continue to pay it, because the Barbacoa tacos or burritos are amazing!
This place has some fantastic burritos! Â And it's always both clean and well-run. Â I always get the steak burrito with rice and hot salsa, which is not one to disappoint! Â The service is usually pretty fast, especially if you eat a little before or after prime meal times. Â Overall, this place is a pretty good bet for consistent, quality Mexican food.
Review Source:This Chipotle is as good as any of the others in terms of food. Â Fast, high quality ingredients, and easy on the wallet. Â This location is even great--just a bit off the beaten path and right by Target.
However, the parking lot here is awful! There are always cars waiting for a spot. It usually takes longer to park then to wait in line, order and leave! Guess the developers didn't consider the high-traffic stores that would be in this strip mall.
Chipotle is my favorite fast food chain in the country. Â They focus on one thing and do it well, rather than catering to every swinging dick that wants a quick meal. Â Also, naturally raised meat FTW.
The burritos are good, but the crunchy tacos are what draw me in. Â If for some reason Chipotle ever closes its doors for good, I'm pretty sure I would die of heartache (before I die of starvation).
I like this location in particular because I can walk from my apartment, the workers are friendly, and there's outdoor seating.
This place is on our family rotation. Â We love going here because of the parking. Â The place is big and plenty of high chairs. Â
One strange thing though, it always seems too cold in there, but I guess it's better than the opposite.
You can't go wrong with Chipotle, they are consistently good.
I've eaten here a whole bunch of times, and I always know what to expect. It gets super busy during the lunch rush, as expected, so you might plan for a whole hour if you want to enjoy your meal in house. I've never had problems finding seating, but it's usually right around that max occupancy point during that time. The food is consistent and flavorful, and I love the array of sauces available to dine-in customers. I do have one question, though.
Don't they know that the burritos turn into a soggy, explosive mess EVERY time? I'm sure this is part of the corporate mission, or identity, or something, but I must admit that I don't like getting the contents of the burrito everywhere, every time. Remember, they serve it to you as a completely encapsulated food item, and it always expands and drips and turns inside out. It's more like the job description of a hand grenade. OK, enough jokes about the food. But seriously, I am willing to donate seed money to anyone who can create a hilarious "burrito fight" video project for the world wide web and beyond. Or maybe a ticking time bomb, "NO! Cut the GREEN pepper..." type skit. OK, I'm done now. For real.
Had Chipotle here for the first time in a really long time earlier this evening. Delicious as ever.
Chipotle is the hands down the best fast food in America.
AND they're the only national food chain to serve non-factory farmed pork. Always a plus, even though I don't eat pork anymore.
And Chipotle started my guacamole obsession. Hail the avocado!
This gets 5 stars because it is the best Chipotle ever. For real. They are always fresh, never stale, always hot and always generous with the fillings. I'll also say that, while I never get the bol, my girlfriend does and it is like the best dip for chips ever. I generally just get the chicken burrito, black beans, green salsa, extra sour cream, cheese and guac. Bam, that is a meal. Couple that with Pibb Xtra and I'm good.
Review Source:I absolutely LOVE Chipotle! Â Chicken Bol with extra cilantro rice. Â I am seriously addicted to this stuff. Â Even though the chips and guac are loaded with calories, I keep telling myself that at least the guac contains "good fat". Â Finally, this location is great because of the easy parking.
Review Source:What can I say? Â I LOVE burritos. Â
Chipotle has great burritos; even better for a chain restaurant; even EVEN better for a chain restaurant owned by the McDonalds Corporation.
I like the veggie burrito best, but I'm up for chicken as well. Â I like their ingredients; all of the fixins are fresh and their salsa is made in the store... and it's delish! Â Their chips are also great. Â They're seasoned with some lime and salt - they are absolutely delicious. Â
I'll definitely try a burrito bowl sometime, but every time I go I always get the same thing. Â Great lunch spot for those who work in the area and always great for dinner before the bar (gets you ready for a night of drinkin).
for a chain it ain't half bad. Â You know what your usually getting most of the time. Â I was really tired after an almost five hour plane ride and tried my luck at this location. Â Food seemed pretty fresh but OMG! Â The girls behind the counter really need to be educated on the fine art of quality customer service. Â When you see someone smile and say please and thank you it makes an OK meal better. Â But they can't perform those simple tasks.
For a cheap sort of Mexican meal I come here. Â easy, cheap, parking and not bad tasting. Â Being a native from SF this chain doesn't compare to the food that I've tasted back at home. Â Still looking for a great Mexican spot here in the Chi.
I really like Chipotle...love their chips! I will choose Americanized Mexican (as I like to call it) over real Mexican any day. I had chicken tacos with lettuce, sour cream and cheese. I'm not adventerous when it comes to toppings, I keep it simple. I really like their chicken it's got a great seaoning to it. I love that they use nice crisp romane lettuce not iceburg. Price isn't bad at all because you're getting quite a bit, but if you're not expecting it you'll be a tad suprised because it's really just fast food. But when you get tacos there are 3 and it will definitely fill you up, add an order of chips and you'll be stuffed!
Review Source:What is y'alls problem, Chipotle is fantastic. Â I only get the veggie burrito bol, and for some reason I never get sick of it! Â Either there is something added into the food that makes you addicted to it, or it's just damn good. Â Either way, I love Chipotle. Â
It's kind of overpriced for what it is, basically just rice and beans and a few toppings, but since I don't have the motivation to cook it at home, unless all the ingredients can be easily prepared in the microwave, I don't mind paying to get it there.
Chiplote makes food w/ precision and expert attention - dont forget they are owned by McDonalds, so every time it's the same and pretty good. Â I'd never choose to go to a fast food spot like this over one of the thousands of true Mexican spots in the area, but it was free for our work today. Â Fairly healthy if you dont need to avoid the carbs. Â But as far as Burritos I've had in the city, Chipolte is just average.
Review Source:There must be crack in there somewhere! Chipotle is my fast food addiction, and it's nice to know it's not as greasy or unhealthy as most chain fast food places. I love their veggie burrito bowl, with rice, black beans, and sauteed vegetables. Their salsas are fantastic, the guac is never enough, and the whole combination is inexplicably delicious. Thank god for Chipotle!
Review Source:Shame on you for even considering Chipotle in a town with such amazing and frequent taquerias. There's nary a Chipotle in Chicago that isn't very close by some amazing, cheap and quick taquerias, with much more filling burritos and far more savory tacos that aren't all flour dough and no content. Honestly, gente, what were you thinking?
And this is coming from someone broke all my life. Kill this market for that McDonalds-manufactured burritofication, choose your local taquerias!
I eat a lot of burritos. Â I've probably eaten at at least ten different burrito restaurants. Â So imagine me walking into a Chipotle for the first time. Â Total corporate image (I mean I think Mcdonald's owns them.) Â To say I was dubious would be an understatement. Â I think I was actually angry for the first burrito. Â I mean, don't get me wrong, it was delicious. Â But I was in denial. Â Next thing I know I go back. Â Then again. Â And again. Â Now I'm hooked. Â The ingredients are so FRESH. Â And the chips are amazing too. Â Stupid Mcdonald's.
This particular Chipotle can be especially commended for its cleanliness and extremely helpful staff. Â Go to this Chipotle if you have to choose. Â And burrito lovers, don't be disdainful. Â Give it a try. Â I swear Ronald won't attack you when you open the door.
With this facility being across the street from the new PAWS Chicago shelter, I'll be a regular visitor. I've already visited twice to have the vegetarian burrito, and have been impressed by the good, quick service and fresh ingredients. The guacamole is outstanding. Chipolte has given free burrito coupons to PAWS Run for Their Lives participants in the past, so I really hope they do so again this year.
Review Source:love it love it love it. Â i can't get sick of it. Â even my little year-old baby loves it. Â if you can't find what you want to eat here, your tastebuds done broke.
note to pregnant ladies: are you almost due? Â want to kick start your labor? Â try a little hot sauce! Â worked for me!
lime rice. barbacoa. dsl = don't stand in line (internet ordering). real guac. i really love chipotle, and you know what, i don't care that their parent company is mcdonald's because i think they at least are trying to do the right thing, in regard to the free range and the no hormones and whatnot (probably because it makes them money) and what the hell anyway, it tastes good - do it. :)
if you want a real taqueria feeling, there are many places for that in this great city of Chicago. but, honestly, for a chain, this is pretty freaking good.
It's okay food, for a McDonald's owned chain.
We just stopped in to use the bathroom (key attached to a giant metal kitchen spoon, how funny) while walking over to Oz Park. After that I tried to get the kids to eat something there since I like the tacos. The lady at the counter was VERY COOL to offer to make some mini quesadillas for the kids, which I don't think is on the menu.
Note to other restaurants in LP area, when people ask to use your restroom and you say no, people remember it and vote with their feet. This is based on quite a bit of first and second-hand anecdotal evidence. I've eaten at this Chipotle many times and I will be back again due to the coolness of the staff (extra star for that) and okay tacos.
I love Chipotle. I love that Chipotle supports running races in Chicago and that I get free burrito coupons with a lot of my races. I love chicken burritos with no beans and guacamole and lots of cheese. Chipotle is the only fast food I really crave, and I probably eat it at least twice a month... Yummy...
