Chipotle Mexican Grill

The latest crew here (crazy turnover) is better than previous ones and they actually offered me all of the ingredients (i.e. rice and beans & veg) on the tacos. on a recent visit.   They should always do that, as it's equal price to the  burrito.

Like McDs, it's always the same consistent flavor,    I am generally NOT a fan of this chain and their over-emphasis on portion control, but in a pinch it's OK.

As more Mexican joints move into the neighborhood, you guys will need to step up your game.

But the view on Grand is pleasant and it's a quick stop from the Red Line, Bed Bath & Beyond and other shopping a few blocks away on Wabash.

There is zero logic to this statement, but darnit I'll state it anyway. Burrito bowls taste better at this location. There is no reason for this. It's the same ingredients at every other mother-effing-Chipotle. Rick Bayless isn't moonlighting back in the kitchen adding secret Xoco ingredients to the rice. No! It's the same silly thing. Yet, and I don't know why, it tastes better than the location on Diversey.

Maybe it's because I only get take out here when I'm working. Maybe the thought of enjoying a giant boat of salsa-y, ricey, chicken-y goodness is the reprieve I need from my otherwise exhilarating day of researching women's rights in countries like Argentina. I don't know, but I do know that I like it, and I like it a LOT.

Something I don't like, the massive line that snakes to the entrance every lunch hour, on the hour (we're talking 11a-2p). As fast as those employees sling that sour cream, it still takes a good 10 minutes to get through the line. But it's so worth it to get back to the office, pop the headphones in, and savor the best burrito bowl this side of North Ave.

The burrito bowl is a healthy and tasty meal.
