I would say, only go here if you are in desperate need of food and nothing else is available.

First, we could hardly understand our server, her english was so poor.  Next, we ordered margarita's and she recommended a "special" one with blue curacao.  I think their distributor was pushing it because it made the worst drink I've ever tasted.  Hopefully someone from there will read this and stop serving them.

Then we got chips and salsa.  La-la.  Nothing special but I did like both their salsas.

We ordered our dinner and then came out in about 10 minutes.  Since the restaurant was so empty I shouldn't have been surprised but someone, I would feel better if my food came to me SLOWER in a sit-down restaurant than it would at Taco Bell.  The rice was good and it's hard to mess up refried beans.  But the cheese on my cheese enchilada's looked like something from the bag at Publix and it looked like something the dog threw up.  I ate it all but I paid for it all night long.

So, not liking the first drinks we ordered, we asked for regular margarita's.  How can I describe them as being the worst on the planet?  Well, for starters, they tasted watered down as not having enough mix in them.  Then, they had almost no tequila in them.  Stay with water, it's your best bet and free.

There are lot's of chains to go for mexican food, like LaBamba and El Mariachi, and there are lot's of places to go that are out of the way, and they all have better food.  This place should be closing very soon.

I been coming here since I was a kid, this is Tex Mex at its finest,  the free chips in salsa is off the hook, fajitas are the best in town as advertised.  Tacos are good, the el burro is gut busting.  La Bamabas ain't got nothing on this place.

It's been around since 1984. It used to have a decent mix between Mexican and Cuban food, but has cut back on and sort of lost its flavor with the Mexican. So if you go here, I'd stick with the Cuban.

They do serve one of the best, budget value Carne Asada in town and generally has the reputation of good portions, heavy on the stomach but light on the wallet.

I found the service friendly, the restaurant clean and with a decent dinning atmosphere.

Run of the mill Mexican restaurant, as it should be: inexpensive, tasty, filling, good portions, free chips and salsa, good margaritas. Everything I've had has been good, its consistent. Too bad their fish tacos are fried, not grilled. Service is good.

    My personal favorite Mexican restaurant.

Been coming here for years.  As a child, I always loved the "Fried Ice Creeam" dessert . . . it is unlike anything you have had in a dessert.  Corn Flakes, Caramal, Vanila Ice Cream topped with whipped Cream and a cherry . . . it is unbelievable.

As an adult, I still love the Fried Ice Cream . . . but it is the Monday and Tuesday night $1.99 margaritas that get me in the door now.  And for house margaritias . . . these things are EXCELLENT.

Chips and Salsa are better here than most places.

The Mariachi band can be entertaining but a little annoying when they keep coming back for a tip lol.

Love the fact that they have a TV in the back room in case a big game is on they turn the channel for me.

Food is good, I have had better . . . but they are good here.  Fajitas, Mexican Pizza, tacos, enchilladas . . . all worthy of trying . . . but the fact that it doesn't stand out is keeping me from giving this place a 5.

Oh well, this is still my favorite Mexican spot and I will certainly be back.  Good for group outings or even as a romantic dinner spot.

I've scoured the internet but was unable to find a website for this small, indescript Tex-Mex eatery located at 91 NE Prospect Road in Oakland Park. Dave, Dale and I have been lunching here for more years than I can remember. When Dale says "let's get something quick," we go to Cielito Lindo.

There's not a lot of luxury here. Straight back wooden chairs and too many tables squeezed into a small area. The waitstaff is efficient and usually understand just enough English to take your order. It all adds to the unique ambiance of this place. As soon as you sit down a bottomless basket of tortilla chips and two cups of salsa: mild and oh so hot, clear my sinuses, appear on your table followed by your drink order.

At lunchtime they offer some great specials. Churrasco steak, enchiladas, ropa vieja, baby palomilla, and picadillo are some of my favorites. They come with a cup of soup, beans, rice and plaintains. The lunch specials run from $6.00 to $11.00 and believe me you get a ton of food for the money!

It tastes authentic to me and you would be hard pressed to find a place where you can get more for the money. If it's your first time I suggest you try the ground beef enchiladas and add some of the hot green chile salsa on top (if you can handle it!). When your eyes are tearing from the flame in your throat and your forehead is covered in sweat just tell them that you learned about them right here.

Cielito Lindo serves two types of food.  The Mexican is 1 star and  the Cuban is 4 stars.  So I will give it 3 stars overall because I always order the Cuban.

The Mexican food here is just too bland for me.  Though the chips and salsa that come on every table are really good.

The Cuban food here is really good.  I like the masas de puerco (Fried pork chunks),   pounded chicken breast (forgot the name), and skirt steak.

They also serve this awesome creamy chicken soup with every lunch special.

The cost is good and the service is very good.

One last thing is for desert they have this amazing ice cream ball covered with corn flakes and caramel.  It is amazing, almost makes this a 4 star restaurant.

I was really excited to try this place- all my friends kept telling me how good it was, etc. Then on the way there, they started talking about how it had really started going down hill. That the vegegtable quesadilla was always greasy now, and that the quality was getting worse on every entree. (Gee,thanks, guys, for bring me now!)
When we got there, we had the chips, which were good, and then I ordered the chicken faitas, someone else got steak fajitas, others got a taco platter (which came out deep fried and so thick she could not eat it- a fried taco?) broccoli cheese soup (blech) and the infamous vegetable quesadilla (yes, the vegetables were oily and so the tortilla spit) . My fajitas came out NOT SIZZLING...not even a whisper. OK- it was overcooked, dry, burnt onions. We waited 40 minutes for our food and the place was not busy. Service pleasant, but we had all the parts of our fajitas 20 mins before we got the meat. So sending it back was not an option. All of us were very disappointed. The friends I went with said- Well, it''s still a good place for a margarita. After $15 for a diet coke and the worst fajitas I ever had, I can find a good margarita someone else. As I read other Yelpers, it seesm this is a place that is losing it's freshness and quality. There are way to many mexican restaurants out there for me to try this again.

This used to be a pretty solid lunch spot to come for good Mexican and Cuban cuisine. Not so much anymore.

Recently, the lunch menu options for Mexican food were cut back (several burrito and steak dishes are gone) and the "yum" quality in my chicken enchilada was definitely lacking. It had this weird, egg like after taste that was not pleasing at all.

Chips and salsa; soup and service are good. I will keep it on my list of lunch places, for now.

This is my favorite Mexican restaurant!

It's great on a summer afternoon when the air conditioner is kickin' and we're chompin' on tortilla chips (ask for mild if the salsa is too hot for you) and sippin' on margaritas while waiting for our food. The enchiladas are great. They come with beans and rice. The whole dish is covered with cheese. Yummy!
They have a bar but it's separated from the dining areas (they have two separate dining rooms) I like a table in the back.  We can look out into the backyard while we're eating. Dinner costs about 12 dollars per person not including drinks. They even have live mariachi music. I'm sure it's only on Friday and Saturday nights but it's a lot of fun.

The place is what you make of it.
It can be a great place to go for a quite lunch, a festive dinner or even a birthday celebration. It's not a commercial chain restaurant so you get home cooked flavor. I think they have a few locations but this is the one near home so it's my local neighborhood Mexican restaurant and I love it.

The place is packed for lunch, and offers muy rico lunch specials! The portions are huge.

So far, I have had the Arroz Con Pollo and Masas de Puerco.  Each lunch special comes with a soup, soda and chips for about $7 to $8 depending on what you order.  The chips come with regular salsa, and also a nice extra spicy salsa.  I especially liked the taco soup.  You should also try the fajitas, which come fresh.

After tax and tips, it is about $11 per person for lunch.
