After a fun Quizzo experience at Local 44, we decided to see how City Tap's compared last week and left disappointed.

First off, the website lists that it starts at 10pm (which I even called to confirm). The host didn't show up until 10:40, which according to our waitress, is the new standard this summer. And as it turns out, Johnny 'Goodtimes' is actually a miserable guy in his 30s with the personality and emceeing skills of a log. Pretty tough to sit through that for over an hour.

Beer list is huge, albeit more expensive than it really should be for a lot of the selection. Our friends ordered a pizza, which they said was good despite being pretty small for $14+.

All in all, can't say there's much of a reason that I'd come here over Local 44, so approach with caution.

If you want to pay $7, $8, or $9 for a beer that elsewhere in the city would cost $5 or $6; be served by bartenders who think a 3/4-full pint is good enough; and eat food that feels lazy at best and hostile at worse --- then, well, here you go. What in the world keeps this place in business?

An ample draft list combined with classed up gastropub fare should equal success, especially in this beer-crazed city. Unfortunately, Tap House shows a lack of thought on both food and drink fronts, translating to a merely decent experience when there are elements in place for greatness.

Tap House's 60-deep beer list should, in theory, have plenty of great options for any palette. Alas, there are always a handful of well-priced, tasty brews worth drinking here (Yards Saison and Ommegang Rare Vos during my last visit). But the rest of the tap list? Mottled by overpriced beers ($7 for 10 ounces of a 4% abv wit? No thanks) or beers that just suck (A chipotle stout we sampled that our waiter claimed nobody ever ordered. If nobody likes it why is it there?). I'd personally rather have 10 well-curated, reasonably priced taps than pages of crap. At least you can try before you buy with copious free samples.

The food also exhibits one too many execution errors to attain excellence. Mussels are consistently overcooked and fishy. Flatbreads and sandwiches often have an ingredient or two that throws off the whole dish (ridiculously salty and astringent kalamata olives in the case of otherwise delicious octopus flatbread and lamb burger, for example).

Again, if a little more attention was paid to the details, the food could match up with the city's better restaurants and bars. The open atmosphere and huge deck with fire pits make Tap House a solid choice for UCity dining and drinking, but it falls short of its ambition to be a temple for excellent food and beer. 3.5 stars.

Tap House is great if you want to hang out with friends, get a few drinks, but not so great if you want to have a nice meal. I've had dinner here twice, and my experiences both times were quite average, nothing special... However, I would highly recommend TapHouse if you want to grab drinks, have some fries (their sweet potato fries are really good) or pizza at the bar, and watch some TV or sit by the fireplace.

It's fun to sit outside on the deck, and have lots of greenery around, and then look up and realize you are smack dab in a city.

Great beer list and happy hour specials. I snacked on the Abigail mussels, tons of mussels, great broth and giant delicious crostinis. The server was attentive and quick, Great spot to meet up with co-workers after a hectic day.

I hate that I have to write such a bad review about this place because this place has a great beer list and I actually really enjoyed the atmosphere--especially the outdoor fire pit area.

This was my first time at City Tap House and it was for a surprise birthday party.  My roommate rented out part of the outside fire pit area to surprise her boyfriend for his birthday.  I believe she paid over $200 to reserve a small section and get two tiny pizzas as an appetizer and it was $30 for a three hour open bar package for all of the guests attending this surprise party....or so we thought.  First when we walked in we had to purchase the open bar package from the hostess and it turns out the open bar was from 8:30 to 11pm..so really it was 2.5hours, still worth the $30 bucks.  Throughout the night, the service was terribly slow and the waitress was SO rude we could not even believe it.  The group ended up starting to go inside and get drinks from the bartenders.  We had wrist bands so they knew we had paid for the open bar, but the bartenders we also incredibly rude and seemed pissed that we were offered this open bar deal.  If you don't want people to get an open bar...don't offer it?

Eventually the bartenders and waitress decide that the open bar deal ends at 10:30pm, so when we went to the bar to get drinks at 10:33pm the bartenders start screaming at us that our deal is cut off.  We were slightly confused since we were told it went to 11pm, so we double checked at the front and the hostess yet again told us that it did indeed go to 11pm.   She even showed us the sheet with our parties name on it saying that it went to 11pm.  Anyways eventually a few others in the group got yelled at by the manager and event planner as if this was our fault.  I think the end result was the manager giving people in the group a few drink "tickets" to get one more drink at the bar but the entire situation was handled so terribly by all staff involved.  I really just felt bad for my roommate who spent all this money and all of her guests were treated so badly by the staff.

All in all, our group still had a good time, but that's because it was a fun group, not because of City Tap House.  Not sure if I will be rushing back here anytime soon.

I have lived in west philly for several years now, been here more times than I care to count, and have finally got around to writing this review.  City Tap House (or just tap house) is a great all around bar/restaurant.  They serve all your normal beer on tap along with a slew of other local and seasonal beers, also on tap.  Beers normally run you $5 to $8, happy hour specials are pretty good with $3 drafts and $5 mixed drinks.  There is a good mix of people, more college students on Thursdays.  Overall the bar has a casual feel but your are not going to see a lot of drunk students and really loud music, it is a great place to get a couple drinks and meet up with friends.

The quality of food ranges a lot from dish to dish, generally good but nothing spectacular for the price.  I liked the lamb burger and the mussels, but was disappointed with the flatbread.  Supposedly some of their pizzas are a solid choice.  The huge outside deck area is one of the best in the city and boasts several fire pits with seating around them.  I also really appreciate that the restaurant does a lot of events that are definitely worth going to.  My favorite was the all-u-can-eat Maryland blue crab fest that I went to last year.  The steamed crabs were delicious and served with potatoes, bread, and corn on the cob.  Tap house also does events for philly beer week, restaurant week, and has live music sometimes.  I usually find myself coming here at least once a month and is probably my favorite place to go in UC.

Visited for the first time on a rainy evening, celebrating a friend's birthday.  I like that it's spacious and has outdoor seating.  Flight of beers were good, nice happy hour special.  As you can see I'm a big fan of HAPPY HOUR!  Server was attentive, big flat screens at the bar.  You'll enjoy your visit.

I can't remember what I ate, which doesn't account for much, but drinking is my thing.

This place is packed from the bar to all the seating on a Friday afternoon through early evening.  Understandable since it's happy hour and people with social life tend to de-stress during this time.  Make reservations early if you want seating.

BIG selection of beers; went with the V-12 to start which packs 12% for a beer.  The tap burger was cooked just right at medium, and it came with a fairly large portion of fries.  Service was quick and friendly, and the ambience was nice for happy hour conversations.

It is what it is. U-City needs a place like this - an upscale gastropub. It 's unfortunate you have the snobby richy-rich types that take over in the late hours, but apart from that, the food and the beer really makes this place worth coming to. I recommend coming for Happy Hour or just after work hours.

City tap house is a little expensive but I like it a lot.  I think their menu is a little limited but there is something for everyone.
In case of dinner, I've had the steak which was underwhelming.  Probably better to get the pizzas or something.
Personally i go for brunch. I love the steak&eggs as well as the waffle.  Delicious!!

City Tap offers DELICIOUS food. Seriously. Come for the food, stay for the beer. Amazing selection on both--I'm particularly partial to the shrimp n grits (cried when they left the menu rotation, actually cried) which are creamy, smoky, juicy...perfect. The sweet potato fries and gnocchi are always amazing, too. Dry rub wings were meh, but still better than most places.

And the beer selection! Wowza. The people here know their stuff and there's a LOT of stuff on offer.

It's a great place to come if you're a regular (but a little pricey for regular patronage) because the bartenders who stay really try to get to know you (shoutout to Cathy!!!!) Altho there's been a lot of bartender turnover since I first started coming here in 2010.

I took a star off for the seating on crowded nights--it's extremely hard to get bar seating, although in the summer maybe it'll be better 'cause the outdoor space (I don't want to have to pay for fire pit seating though!) and obviously you can't sit down unless you're going to order food too. Dunno what the solution is, but it's made some Friday nights kind of uncomfortable--though again, not nearly as bad as most CC bars!

    I love this place.

I WANT to love this place 100% and give it 5 stars because the Beer selection is OUTSTANDING! Best in the city --I don't know any other place that has as many taps and reminds of my favorite place in SF (Toronado's)
But the service can be painfully slow esp at the bar and at the outdoor firepits, esp on particularly crowded nights which seems to be about every night
The bar is highly understaffed, my thing is don't have a giant bar that can sit 40 people around plus have drink orders come in from all of the tables and only have two or sometimes even only ONE bartender, its just not practical
That being said, I go back time and time again because the waitstaff is very knowledgeable about their beers and I always manage to have a good time despite the slow bar service.
My advice get there before 6 or get a table and eat food otherwise be prepared for slow service at the bar

The City Tap House has a great atmosphere, and an awesome beer selection. However, the food is really not that great. However, I am not sure who goes there for food particularly. Nevertheless, there are many more places with better food, and an equal beer selection in Philadelphia.

I've come here a few times and it's okay. The beer list is great, but the service is really slow for food and the food is on the pricier side. The goat cheese/honey/onion/pistachio pizza is delicious and a creative idea, but it was already getting cold when it arrived.

This place has one of the best beer selections I've found, but, in the past, Delightful Companion and I have found service at the bar indifferent at best (and rude at worst). Initial signs for this visit weren't promising. The place was nearly empty at 3:30p and the hostess station was unmanned despite the "Please Wait to be Seated" sign. We finally got someone's attention at the bar and were then seated at a table outside. Things definitely improved at that point. The patio table was perfect to soak in the sun, enjoy the moderately warm afternoon, and partake in an IPA sampler flight. You're three stories above Walnut St, so you don't have the street traffic or pedestrians impinging on the atmosphere.

Our server Nel (according to the receipt) was upbeat and engaging -- a vast improvement over our previous bar experiences here -- and did a terrific job making sure drinks and food were timed and presented perfectly. DC and I had the margarita pizza and the chicken/apple salad. Both were wonderful...much better than we remembered the food being on those previous visits. In the past, I would have given only 2-stars for previous visits, but this visit has renewed my faith, and I look forward to making it back here soon.

Went on a Sunday night for dinner -- no daily specials available (Sundays don't count, I guess).  The daily specials sound fantastic and will try soon.

Dry rub wings were great.  Burger was very good.  Tap list was the best you'll find in University City.  Outdoor seating looked like a lot of fun.  Will be back in the summer!

This place is just okay. The atmosphere is really nice, and the waitstaff was also pretty nice. They have interesting beers on tap here. My bf and I shared an order of the Abigail mussels. HUGE portion, and two hunks of slightly-burnt and overly salty bread. I did not partake in the bred but I ate quite a few of the mussels. We were unable to finish them.

Overall, if I wish to drink interesting beer close the my bf's apartment and feeling too lazy to go anywhere else, I'll come back here. Otherwise, I'm going to Monk's Cafe.

I don't really get over to university too city often, so I asked the waiter at the restaurant we were eating at to suggest a place to get some beers after dinner.  He suggested City Tap House which was less then a block away.

The first time I went here was during the day at it was slow.  The bartenders were very attentive and knew a ton about beers.  They helped us each pick out a flight.  There's a ton of awesome beers to try here and a chill vibe.

I then went back on a friday night and talk about a different experience.  You walk in and right away get why it's called "university" city.  Very college vibe, packed with Penn students.  We sat outside by the fire pits which are really nice.  As far as food, I've only tried the pizza.

I probably wouldn't go here during the whole college scene again, but this is a solid spot I would return to for sure.

I just don't know about City Tap House. When I moved to West Philly, I was hoping for a local pub with a great beer selection that could offer a variety to please all pallets. CTH seemed to be the front-runner, though Local 44 was also on my radar. I was not disappointed by the location, by the vibe, or by the selection.

The environment and service, however, were so discouraging. I love being around the student culture for the most part, but when I go out for a beer, I want a break from the fraternity guys and twenty-somethings trying to find themselves (I've voiced this opinion more than once on Yelp, I'm afraid). I could have stomached the presence of the fake ID-toting Penn pals if only the service had been a little nicer.

The bartenders seemed bothered by any questions and when I received a bill that was three times the size of my order, he seemed irritated by my concern. I had opened a tab for the beer or two that I had ordered, and so was obviously surprised to find my bill closer to $40. Not only did he begrudgingly bring me a new receipt, but then it took CTH and my bank close to a week to rectify the balance. I know it takes a few days to clear off pending charges, but a whole week seemed excessive.

I'm not finished with City Tap House. I'd like to go back and find a seat at the bar, a wrap-around dominating the center of the space much like a pub in old Scotland or Ireland. Maybe on a quieter night at a quieter hour, the service and experience would be a little more enjoyable.

After coming here for a work party, I was really impressed and wanted to come back again for dinner. The wings, cheese plate, and some other items that we had for the work event were great and the beer selection was awesome. So, the following night I came here for dinner with my girlfriend and we were left very disappointed.

What started as a promising night with flights of beer for the both of us (an excellent appetizer choice!) quickly became some what disgusting. Despite it being in the 40s the night we were here, there were flies every where! We were no where near the exits or the outside fire pit area, so I don't know why there were so many bugs around. Then, our food was also pretty awful.  I had a chicken sandwich that basically was completely wasted.

If I come back, it will be for the beer as their selection is really impressive and I liked doing the flights, but I don't see myself eating anything expect the wings.

Their gnocchi is getting smaller and less flavorful. I remember when I first tried it around the same time last year. There was definitely a larger portion and it had an excellent presentation and good seasoning. After recently coming here, it's a bunch of asparagus, garlic, and onions roughly cut and smacked onto a huge plate. Definitely not worth $19.

It's unfortunate but I still like the majority of their food, namely the steak and ribs. Stick with those two dishes. For now, they've dropped a star in my book.

I've been here a bunch. It's super close to my work and the beer list is always great. The food is also awesome too. The mussels are tasty, as are the wings! Unfortunately,  happy hour is only once a week, on Wednesday. Not sure why they do that, otherwise I'd be there a lot more. The happy hour special is half off (or maybe a couple bucks off) select beers, which is a great deal.

The menu is constantly changing which is always a nice surprise.

As for the space itself, there is a ton of it, you're not going to get pushed around here. When it's a little warmer, I like to sit by the charcoal pits outside. This place is awesome.

Love love love love love love. I used to live not far from here and I seriously miss this place. The outdoor barbecues, the specials, the homemade drinks around the holidays (Seriously vodka, pumpkin, mixed with cinnamon and spice)

The ever changing fabulous menu depending on the season that's always good. The ambiance on the outdoor area at night.

The great beers on tap that also change with the season. The Tap House introduced me to some of my favorite beers and ales.

Fond memories of my business partner and I celebrating the launch of our company here.

Yeah, there's not much else to say. This is one of my favorite places in the city even with all the college kids around.

This is one of my go-to places in Philly. The atmosphere is loud, but the food is wonderful, and the beer selection prodigious. I particularly love the lamb burger, which I could easily eat 3 times a week. All the other food, however, is just as great, and the service cannot be beat.

Met up with some friends at City Tap House last week and was pretty impressed! It was warm enough to enjoyably sit outside and the service was solid. As a recent 21 year old, I thought the beer selection was great; sipping on an Ithaca Apricot Wheat beer while catching up on a sunny afternoon sure fits my idea of a nice spring break. I thought the prices were reasonable for University City and the atmosphere was lively, but not too loud. Not sure about the food here, but if you're looking for a place for drinks, check out this kitchy establishment (not too many hipsters, don't worry!)

Recommend: Sit outside! And the Ithaca Apricot Wheat ($6.50)
Glitch: I can imagine coming here in peak dinner hours it could be difficult to be seated, especially if outdoor seating is unavailable.

Whenever I go back to Philly and find myself in the University City area (the connotation behind that sort of statement has changed a LOT over the years) to meet up with old friends, City Tap House inevitably makes the short list.  Spatially, you would be hard-pressed to find a more accommodating place for socializing.  Well, I guess that's relative to what sort of socializing you intend to pursue.  If you're the hipster type, you're better off hopping back onto your fixie and going further into the depths of West Philly.  If you're a foodie, you're also better off somewhere else--like, not in University City.

But, for those brunch socials or for grabbing a beer or five before or after peak hours (despite its size, it can get pretty packed around the bar), this place will suffice.  Service at the bar can be pretty frustrating, particularly during peak hours.

I will say that during football season, I enjoy coming here to sit at the bar with a beer and some wings (love dry rub!).  For some reason, it's like no one comes here to watch college football, which is okay by me, as I get to pop a squat right in front of the warm, warm glow of that tv.

Great beer selection.  I do like their fries, but not their burgers.  The turkey burger was probably one of the fouler things I have had.   Sometimes their fries come cold, which really gets on my nerves when that happens.  And don't get take out - they do the sloppiest job I have ever seen in my life.  I got the abigail mussels - which are amazing.  If you dine in, it comes in a bowl and has mussel in a lot of broth. Therefore, it is served in a bowl.  When you order it to go, they pack in in a carboard box, so it just leaks everywhere.  Imagine packing mussel soup in a cardboard container.

In terms of beers, I'd give it a 5.  As for food 3... so let's just take the average I guess.

I came here with a bunch of friends in late fall/early winter. The fire places outside are awesome! I was disappointed that they had run out of the banana bread beer, but they have a great variety of drinks available. I ordered a pear cider that the waitress recommended, and I'm glad I did. The food was awesome (not sure if that's due to drunkenness haha). But, the mussels were delicious and I just sopped up all the soup/juice with my bread. :) I have dreams about that meal.

It's a nice place to come and drink with your friends. I wish there was a bar like this at Temple campus. Definitely will be returning once the weather gets warmer.

This is a nice restaurant but not exactly a destination for a beer lover.  Although they advertise 60 taps on our visit there were only 46 choices available.  That might seem like a lot but some of the choices were very standard like blue moon and coors light and Sierra Nevada pale ale.  Was disappointed they were out of the Sly Fox O'Reilly Stout that was on the 46 option beer menu. Some good choices we found on this menu were Three Heads The Kind IPA and Stoudts FourPlay single hopped IPA. Aside from the IPA selections, it was an overall uninspiring beer list..there are many better places to drink craft beer in philly.

I give the food high marks though,  we had the hanger steak daily special which was tender and delicious and came with an interesting side of celery root and sautéed mushrooms.  A pepperoni pizza was outstanding with a slightly charred thin crust spicy pepperoni and slices of fresh hot peppers.

The service here was mediocre.  We sat for too long before being offered the beer list. Busboys cleared my husbands entree plate before I was finished with mine, and my pizza plate was whisked away wile I had the last slice in my hand.  Lol.   We were not offered a dessert menu though I assume they do offer dessert.

The dining room was airy and modern with an open kitchen and large windows opening onto a patio. Looks like it would be pleasant in warmer weather.  I found the large screen TVs displaying various sports games to be a distraction.

Overall this would be a good place to take your college student out for a nice meal.  It's too expensive for most students to be able to afford on their own.

Even though I've been to tap house numerous times over the years, I really wanted to write a review on their brunch options, which are delightfully surprising!

Came on a quiet Saturday morning with a friend and went straight to ordering food. I ordered their Eggs Benedict, probably one of my all-time favorite brunch dishes. It took a while for the food to come out, but I was so happy with what I got. The eggs, while not as runny as I normally like, were nice and plump and dripped a little as I cut through them. The hollandaise sauce was also great, having the right balance between creamy and sour. Home fries were also great, a little on the salty end, but very hot and crispy.

I've always loved Tap House for their drinks, but now it's on my list of go-to places for brunch!

I've been delaying my review of City Tap House because I was searching for something to put it over the top and let it lock up a 5-star review.  Believe me, I really enjoy CTH, having grabbed dinner and a drink on multiple occasions without a hint of a bad experience.

Great beers, solid food offerings, a nice outdoor area with warm fire pits in the winter are just a few of its features.  Plenty of TVs to catch the game means you don't need a special reason to come here.  But if you do, events like Pumpkin Smash and specials like Flight Nights could encourage you.

So why only 4-stars?  I don't know, but I can't quite bring myself to put CTH over the top.  Check it out for yourself and let me know if you agree...

I got the hamburger sandwich. My wife got the hamburger sandwich. Three out of four people at the next table got the hamburger sandwich. The table behind us two more hamburger sandwiches. Hamburger sandwiches were flying out of the kitchen at an alarming rate. It's a very good Hamburger sandwich. Pork belly instead of bacon. I would put it up there with some of the most popular Hamburger sandwiches in the vicinity. It was a split decision on french fried potatoes. I liked them fine, but my wife prefers hers crispier.
The suds menu was expansive and described the beers well. A fella can order up a cold one confident he is going to enjoy. The gal who served our supper was prompt and friendly. There were plenty of television sets to watch professional football. A real good place for the missus and me to get dinner at 4:30 pm on a Saturday night.

An unexpected movie delay, led us here for a drink. Overall, a fine but not exceptional experience.
Pros: good beer selection, outdoor fire pits make for a cosy night
Cons: servers not knowledgeable, music so loud that you're forced to sit outside to hear your friends. Althought, this may be a pro - see the aforementioned fire pits.
I wouldn't come back here, unless my movie is sold out again, then anything goes.

I was looking forward to coming to City Tap.

Overall: City Tap is a huge place with unknowledgeable beer servers.

"wet hops or dry hops"? The waiter did not know.

If you are a beer restaurant, train the waiters in the art of craft beer. Or just stay a pretender forever.

Every so often I end up in an obligatory work-related CTH excursion.  I'm not a fan.  The service is usually bad.  Really bad.  Two stars for benefit of the doubt because both of these examples happened in June and July of 2012.  I haven't been back since.

Example 1: One of my friends paid to reserve a fire pit for her small graduation party.  It was a party - outside - so people showed up over the course of 90 minutes.  The server kept looking so annoyed/flustered and then asked some of us to order our drinks at the very crowded bar.  We were maybe 12-15 people max.  Then some of the food she ordered, and had pre-paid for, was delivered to a bunch of people the pit over.  We confirmed this with them when they admitted that they didn't order the food and just thought they were being comped appetizers.  This took 45 minutes to correct.  I felt so bad for her.

Example 2:  I showed up with a group of 10-15 post-conference goers.  It was a Tuesday night and not at all crowded.  We get the okay to head to the patio.  Again, the service was really slow and kinda snotty.  People in my group started to complain and wanting to go elsewhere.  As one of the only locals in the bunch I said "Yeah, I'm sorry.  That happens a lot here.  They aren't known for their great service but it's a good place to keep chatting."  Five minutes later the MANAGER comes over and asks to speak with me.  He informs me that he doesn't appreciate having someone say the service is bad and that the server overheard me.

Apparently she didn't "overhear" many of the orders that my colleagues had put in since only half of the people got their drinks and the other half had to re-order when she came back.  And the problem wasn't the missed drinks so much as the obvious lack of interest in making it right.  Some people finished their first drinks before others even got one - and we all ordered beer.

Anyway, I should have laughed it off but instead I was super annoyed that his attitude wasn't "How can we do better".  I had the distinct feeling that if I had been wearing a power suite the attitude would have been really different.  I'm okay with so-so service in a cheap location but with the money they spent on decking everything out in copper and for what they charge - I expect the service to be at least adequate.

Finally - yeah, they have a lot of beers and if you're vegetarian and you can stand the suspense of will-they-won't-they bring me my order, the pizza is good.

I don't usually make it over to U City but every so often, we get an urge to take a cab over and end up at this place.

My last visit solidified my opinion on this place: LOVE the beer options, love the atmosphere, good food, but lacking in the service department.

We always get the 10 spice wings when we come here. They are grilled, no fried excessive skin, and have a really great flavor which is not spicy at all. We tried a couple of the pizzas and flat breads last visit, and the pulpo flat bread definitely came out the winner. Other than that, fairly basic food options, but a great compliment to really great beers.

With that many draft beers, there really is something for everyone, and the list rotates seasonally. We discovered Brewworks Rude Elf during our last visit and I'm still trying to find somewhere to buy bottles of it. They have brewery nights where they feature specific brewers and have a dinner and beer pairing, which I haven't tried but would be looking forward to giving a shot.

The only reason this place doesn't get more stars is the fact that every time I go I'm waiting forever for service. It was not busy last time we visited, so I'm not sure whats going on here. Because of this, I'll still come back but probably not as frequent in the rotation as some other places.

Finding this place can be a little confusing. It's up a set of huge stairs under a luxury apartment building.

The good: FIRE PITS on the patio. It's walkable from most anywhere in University City, near all forms of SEPTA, and has good drinking food.
The bad: It can get crowded, competition for fire pits can be tough, and some of the patrons can be your typical I'm-drunk-so-I-get-to-act-like-an-ass college kids.
Depending on what kind of beer you order, it can be a bit overpriced.

But seriously. FIRE PITS. It's a perfect first or second date spot.

    Wesside!

I never get over to University City, but I've always wanted to check out City Tap House. So, Pumpkin Smash 2012 was a good enough reason to meet up with Michael F. and Jennifer N. for an afternoon of football, food and pumpkin beer. The place was extremely busy and I was lucky to secure a seat at the huge bar in front of one of the flat screens.

Before they arrived I ordered the Roast Pumpkin Ranchero, a brunch special comprised of a pumpkin quesadilla, two sunny eggs, hashbrowns and a black bean chili. It was such a unique combination of things, but I had no problem inhaling all of it and pushing away an empty plate. While I ate, one of the bartenders asked me if I enjoyed the meal (Yes!) and then informed me that I got one of the last brunch plates before they ran out. Great timing for me I guess.

Once they arrived, we started looking (well, not just looking) over the list of 30+ pumpkin beers, which were all tapped at 1 pm. So many interesting options: Elysian Apocalypse Blight, RJ Rockers Gruntled Pumpkin...uhh, I forgot to take any other notes after that.

Or was it after Jenn ordered all three of us delicious pumpkin bombs...twice?  Oh boy...
